Brunch23 in Newcastle upon Tyne

Very disappointed with our experience with Brunch 23. We had a booking for Sunday brunch on March 30th, which was also Mother’s Day. We arrived, excited for our meal, only to find the shutters down and the place completely closed. They didn’t even have the decency to call and inform us in advance. This is completely unacceptable and incredibly frustrating. We expected better communication and customer service.

Been there weeks ago for breakfast.The owner and his wife they run this as their family business.Their behaviour was good, they helped us choosing the perfect breakfast for us. I had proper English breakfast while others tried Desi breakfast and Ben23 or something. All of the three dishes were delicious and absolute banging. We were too full but they offered us with one nice dessert that’s a must try and also karak chai to end up with. Had an excellent service and the price was too reasonable from my perspective as we have traveled from London where a full English breakfast would cost your around £20/£25. Anyways, amazing experience and thanks to the Brunch23 for their hospitality 🙌❤️

Visited brunch 23 for there famous steak with the signature peppercorn source. I’m very particular about my steak and how it’s cooked and can honestly say it was cooked to perfection medium well. The peppercorn sauce is the very best. Definitely worth a try.

You guys need to sort out your opening times. Their breakfast is brilliant thought

I ordered pav bhaji and alo paratha, pav bhaji is missing n alo paratha also not in good state.

This was such a lovely dining experience with a unique menu which is familiar all at the same time. The staff are all so friendly and can't do enough to make your evening as pleasant as possible, but the food is the most important reason to come here. We got a range of starters and mains, all of which were delightful.

Ordered steak and eggs, described as "Rump steak, pink or past, toasted brioche, fried eggs, American cheese, crispy onions & sriracha mayo." On Uber Eats What I got was a small slab of grey steak, not pink in the middle, two eggs on top, some sriracha mayo... don't think there was any cheese in there, definitely no brioche bun, no crispy onions... why? Really disappointing. Won't order again.

This is my GO TO place whenever I’m introducing anyone to halal food in Newcastle. The owners are soooo lovely and always serve you with a smile and you can tell genuinely care about customer experience! The food ALWAYS hits the spot no matter if you’re getting something sweet or savoury. I’m so glad I don’t live close to Brunch 23 bc if I did all my money would go 😭. Their full English is BANGING and their gulab jamun ice cream is sooo smooth and sweet. My favourite brunch place, praying that this place gets more recognition and more money 🤲🏾

First time. Food is really good. Enjoyed the BENE23. Affordable pricing. Waitress was really lovely. Only downside was the Karak Chai. Very watery, needs to be more thick in consistency. Other than that, everything was great. Will definitely be back again.

Had desi and a full fry up breakfast, really nice definitely recommend it. Nice and cozy place to eat inside with a fantastic atmosphere. Karak Chai was nice. Definitely an up and coming place !

Visited Brunch 23 the other evening and it was amazing. We got the meat Thali. It was great, got to try a lot of new dishes and everything was amazing! Very well priced. Staff were also super accommodating with my allergies which was great and I appreciate this. I also got a cheesecake to take home, I went for the banana and biscoff, very delicious and generous portions sizes. Will definitely be back.

The food was amazing, cater for all cuisine's and tastes and flavours are unreal. Everything is made fresh and in house and you can really tell in the quality. No where quite like it in Newcastle!

we love Brunch23! Never had a delivery from them before, but it was fab. Thali was so tasty. And the milkshakes out of this world! great to finally try Saalem coke, as boycotting the big brands. thank you!

Lots of interesting food choices. Never heard of French toast with Gulabjamun and they also amazing triple stack pancakes with spicy sauce. One let down was their karak chai, it was watery for my taste. Do give them a try.

Had a lovely takeout dinner of chicken manchurian, spicy noodles with paneer and naan. Really tasty and great portion sizes. Only critic is their naan was a little too dry.

Great brunch place, so many good options! Love the French toast! Recently the Sunday roast was added to the menu and I must say, the roast potatoes were one of the best I've had, seasoned perfectly and beautifully crispy! Good prices and the staff are lovely. Also the little anime themed shop in the restaurant is great, lots of cute earrings!

Visiting up north found this place, absolutely fantastic, the staff are really friendly and I was very impressed the server remembered all the drinks haha. The food was amazing and very filling, otherwise I would have had more. All in all will be raving to anyone who visits newcastle to try this place

Slightly disappointed with the new menu. This place’s selling point was the Indian cuisine which has now almost entirely vanished, being replaced by “generic” breakfast food (pancakes, bacon, toast etc.). Perhaps a compromise between the two would have been better?

I was made to feel pressured into photographing my food by the waitress ,who wanted me to give a review before I had eaten,she was very over bearing ,the menu has reduced considerably, and it seemed very over priced ,not surprised it was empty rude staff ,cannot recommend

We went to check out their new menu for some brunch. Lovely ambience, cosy and clean. Staff are so attentive & just lush! Chef also greeted us too. Would definitely go again with the girls next for out catch ups!

My friend and I had a yummy fry up for brunch, Bene23 Crispy chicken, nutella and strawberry pancake and Snicker French toast stack. Nom nom nom! So yummy, highly recommend. 5-6 min drive from town as well with parking :)

Great experience and very welcoming. The Avo/Benni23 was cooked perfectly. Quick/prompt service also. Friendly staff and will be back if we are in Newcastle again.

Even they have updated their menu newly but they still need to improve the meals presentation and upgrade the service in general.

I was recommended here by a friend, slightly disappointed that they have moved away from Asian inspired brunch. However, the menu has a great range of savoury and sweet brunches and snacks. Can't wait to go back and try more.

In a word WOW!!! I come here regularly for lunch and always have a lovely welcome! They’ve recently had a menu change so if you haven’t been to try it then you really must!!! Don’t think twice and come and give it a try you won’t be disappointed!!

I'd give a down the middle 2.5 if I could It's a lovely little cafe with a good menu and good kind staff. We went for Brunch and ordered from the stacks one of us had pancakes and one of us had French Toast. The French Toast was tasty but the pancakes were poor. Thin, Luke warm and with a strange strong citrussy taste that didn't go with the bacon and syrup. When mentioned I was told it's the mix they buy and they're Canadian not like English ones (Although not intentional it was a bit patronising) but that's when it clicked what was wrong. Please don't buy pancake mix and expect good pancakes make it yourself or don't sell pancakes especially at £10. Anyway they were polite when I refused to pay for the pancakes and I will give them another chance in the future just in a couple of years

Been meaning to try this place for ages, but the last time I called, they were closed due to unforseen circumstances. Glad that they're open again, and really enjoyed my first visit. I had Chicken Nambali (strips of chicken layered with Malay cream and topped with mixed cheese). The food and a coffee was just over £10, so good value for money. It was very well cooked and really tasty. The service was friendly and welcoming. It's a nice interior. I look forward to trying more of the menu. My only crit is plastic flowers on tables. I HATE PLASTIC FLOWERS AND PLANTS ANYWHERE! It's just my preference though. They just gather dust, and I find them a bit tacky.

Food was amazing, had chana halwa puri and the chana was well spiced, tasted like home cooking. Very friendly staff and nicely designed place aswell, the one thing that let it down for me was the music , other than that I had no complaints

We visited for a late afternoon brunch! Tried the big breakfast and it was very nice! Very tasty sausages and overall good quality ingredients. I opted for the tiger bread and Witt the big breakfast you get a slice of French toast. The waffle with crispy chicken we tried was also good. The place has a broad menu with everything being cooke to order so it does get busy. Good value for money overall easy parking on weekends in car park opposite.

The atmosphere was fantastic. It's a beautiful little spot, warm and inviting. The food was delicious, and the coffee was good. The finest aspect of the restaurant was the staff. They were extremely nice and kind, the ideal accompaniment for an enjoyable breakfast.

I can't praise the quality of food and service enough. The staff are incredibly helpful and the food is simply wow. It is hard to find places that have genuine spices and taste to their food, as well as a clean, lovely atmosphere to enjoy it. I would highly recommend the thalis or nihari but you will not be disappointed with whatever food you purchase.

What a horrible experience today at brunch 23 , ordered Karahi Murg ( specially asked for on the bone and waitress confirmed with the kitchen before ordering and kichen said yes we have on the bone ) but got boneless karahi murg , ordered chicken biryani( waitress confirmed with kitchen before the order that they don’t have bone in it so we were ok with boneless ) but got lamb biryani instead of chicken biryani , we ordered tandoori roti in the running order and waited for 40 mins still didn’t come so cancelled it . They ruined our lunch with their confusion and offered just a sorry from the waitress and the owner didn’t even tried to fix it out and instead of fixing it he said on the bone is not in the menu ( which is written in the menu and waitress confirmed it before ordering it) so owner and waitress both were saying totally different thing but at least she apologised but owner didn’t even bothered to accept the horrible mistake .As a regular customer I am completely appalled with the experience. Will never be back again .

Absolutely delicious, amazing FOH staff and warm atmosphere. No drama here and plenty of seating. The Nihaari is to die for, I will pay you to find a place that does better Nihaari! I even came here with my wife whilst at 'work' with our laptops. We regret not finding this place earlier, it needs more recognition!

Ordered the Katsu burger meal and a friend ordered the chicken tikka wrap meal. The food was delicious and was very fresh. Will definitely be visiting again to try other dishes on their menu!

Service was very slow. The last person received their meal 45 mins after the first person had received theirs. By then most of the family had finished eating and were ready to leave. Not to mention the fact that 45 minutes after having ordered a panini they came and said there were no panini buns left. They should have checked this earlier.

Visited brunch 23 a few times now but when I visited last month with my family we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff are the friendliest. They were so accommodating towards my child and made the visit even more exceptional. I ordered the katsu chicken burger and it was so tasty! Definitely recommend the food here.

It is a hidden gem in West End of Newcastle upon Tyne. Will visit again defo.

I’m a bit disappointed, £5 for 5 pieces of toast is a bit too expensive. The food is decent but I think the staff should let you know the price of the toast if it’s going to cost that much.

Food was nice enough,in particular the Chicken Tikka Panini and the CholeBatture. Service could have been better, poor waitress who served us seemed rushed off her feet... Saturday lunch time service usually busy so needs a little planning resource wise.

I called in here this morning for a quick bite to eat with my girlfriend. We tried our first desi breakfasts. We ordered Dosa and Chole Bature and shared both dishes. Both were absolutely delicious! My girlfriend even said it was the best breakfast she's ever had... and she loves breakfast! The venue was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The two members of staff we dealt with were lovely and very pleasant to talk to. We will definitely be returning and will recommend to others.

Best place in Fenham for people who miss desi food. Very peaceful ambiance and friendly service. The taste was ultimately good. Highly recommended, reasonably priced cute desi cafe♥️

The best place in Newcastle to have homemade Desi food. Especially parathay! I don't think anyone in Newcastle does a thali so delicious or even at all. Customer service is incredible. They have a wide range of breakfast options including pathoray, pooriyan, and halal English breakfast.

Had heard about the great breakfast menu at Brunch 23 from a friend so went to check it out. I'm a big fan of dosas so got the chicken dosa. I got teo chicken stuffed dosa with chutneys and it was delicious. Looking at the rest of the menu I'm keen to return as there's so much to try! Would recommend.

Really good experience and service overall. If you're looking for a halal breakfast spot, they have a great menu with a variety of Indian fusion food. The portions are worth the price. Would highly recommend!

Had a really lovely meal here today with family. Accommodating towards children (high seat and colouring provided) though no specific children's menu (though we usually share with our toddler anyway), and service was friendly but efficient. Food was delicious - I got the chicken tikka wrap with fries, others got a chicken tikka masala with rice (very tasty), the big desi breakfast (actually looked amazing) and a chicken tikka shashlik which also looked good. We all enjoyed our meals and thought the total was reasonable (around £15 a head including drinks). Will definitely return.

The most amazing restaurant! Amazing atmosphere, run by such a beautiful family who make the most delicious food. The mocktails were incredible, and the starters and mains were some of the best food we’ve had. Thank you Brunch 23 and see you soon ❤️
