Broxtowe Fish Bar in Nottingham

Messed up my order - wrong items on a jacket potato. Potato(s) small and half raw.😒

They don't like to say small or large... But it's a small. And a very small at that, with an awfully large price. £10.80 for a not small but very small chicken meat and chips with a coke. Currently writing this review 5 hours after consumption, on my loo, rocking backwards and forwards, in some discomfort. Cheers lads 🙃

Chips are disgustingly undercooked and pale and greasy

totally understand that the restaurant was busy and behind I Appreciate that! but the quality of food wasn't good hence why I reached out to just eat. with a response of....it was busy so restaurant won't give you any money back! not good customer service at all from just eat! it was them who advised me to ask for money back which I wasn't going to. until the food came and tasted like it had been rewarded up, chips very dry and sausage was soggy. so quality wasn't upto standards.

Ordered at half 8 comes at half 10 the food was cold and look like been stood there a while

still waiting on food. apparently its been delivered and we've eaten it!!

After waiting an hour and a half I rang and cancelled my order. Either get an extra driver or turn the app off until you've caught up. I won't be ordering again.

Again delivered very early, we were all trying to get ready when the food arrived. The food was good quality and tasty, will be ordering again.

Not quite sure how this is £8 for a small portion. Absolute madness! Go anywhere else like wollaton fish bar, ash grill etc etc.

Lovely fish and chips and really nice, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Been useing Broxtowe fish Bar for the last 25 years , never had any issues, however I am very disappointed. What's happened to Broxtowe fish bar that we used to know. There is no consistency in portions size.. just chips and kebab meat , not enough to even feed a child. The lady who served me just could not be bothered to cut some more off .☹️

Sorry food was not on poit like my other deliveries. Chip were hard and batter was soggy. Bit disappointed

terrible, quality of food was awful,seemed we had left over scraps before they did a new batch,all the chips were rock hard,we had to bin them all.

Very quick delivery, we weren't ready for it. But i cannot fault that i suppose. They missed an item, after calling they they delivered the missing item, but it took 10-15 mins. By this time the rest of the food had been eaten. Not the best service this time......

we always order chippy from broxtowe fish bar as its guaranteed to be hot when it arrives. we've never had any issues with bits either.

Food was warm so was the gravy,fritters greasy & hard my son didn’t touch it not the best tonight

Food was beautiful and arrived piping hot.

My battered burgers were rock hard, cold and had barely any batter on them, the large chips was the an absolutely ridiculous portion, it was smaller than their regular normally is (I order regularly from here) and the chips were cold and the battered sausage was cold. Rang up to complain about size of portion of chips as soon as I saw the size before I realised how cold food was and they said driver had finished and they'd sort me out next time, it's no good next time as we needed feeding tonight. The chips was nowhere near enough and most of the food went in the bin! Not happy, was a complete waste of money. Don't think I'll be ordering from here again. Only positive was the delivery driver was very friendly and had great customer service!

Stated it was delivered when it hadn't even left the restaurant. Came 45 mins later then stated time. All the food was cold

Excellent tasty food, unsure what took my fancy at first and the assistant without asking recommended Fishcake, chips and Peas. Well mannered, very helpful, polite, and good value. They also offer a cone of Chips served between 2 and 4.30 for the children daily. How rewarding is that for a time in need. Thankyou Broxtowe Fishbar. Will be seeing you again. The chips were ok, could have been warmer, but the crispy bits were so hard to chew they almost tasted old. The bbq wings were inedible, we couldn't even eat a whole one. Barely warm as if they were not hot to start with. I will have to heat them properly in the oven to feel comfortable finishing them. The mini fish was nice and the coleslaw very basic for the price.

the food was disgusting. The bag with the food in was given to me sideways due to it being soaked in oil. the courier said she didn't want to get it all over my clothes. When we took the paper off the fish the batter fell off it and it was rock hard. The chips were cold. The 2 cheese and onion fry its I orders had mushed together in the paper to become one big oily mess. I definitely will not order from Broxtowe Fish Bar again. It is a shame because it was a good chippy but now the food is awful

Great food,polite delivery guys

Ordered the tikka chicken pitta - clearly ran out of tikka and subbed in with alternative which wasn’t what we wanted. If I’d known I’d have ordered a different dish. Bit disappointing especially as use regularly without issue. Could have sent notification rather than just send it out as is.

Food was ok this time, i asked again for salt and vinegar, but again none was put on my food.

Fish was rubbish. Very expensive

Firstly I would like to say the staff have always been brilliant, polite and nice. I'm normally very happy with the food BUT this time I was quite shocked at the portions. I asked for kabab meat (£5) in a tray and mixed meat in a tray (£7) the portion size was astonishing, there wasn't an option for large or small and the tray we got was no bigger then the size of my hand, food was not very warm either. I'm leaving a review not to criticise but to make people aware, I've eaten mine and still quite hungry. Broxtowe fish bar PLEASE offer options on portions size and please reconsider that SMALL tray option because that's more like something I'd give a child under 10 years old and the price was silly for that. Will be going elsewhere for kabab meat from now on.

I always order from here, normally with no issues. However this order wasn’t good. I rang after an hour to be told my order was next out. 35 minutes later I had to ring again as my order still hadn’t arrived. Told it was already out for delivery. 5 minutes later it did arrive however it was lukewarm and extremely greasy. Also the portion size of the kebab meat was half the size it normally is.

Way too much batter on the fish and the mushy peas smelt and tasted like someone had tipped an ashtray in them

Before you say i am not telling the truth so I get a refund I am not haven’t even asked for one just like last time. I have been a customer for over 20 years and this is your response. I never have asked for a refund from you. I am really disappointed you would treat a very loyal customer in this way because the food was only warm and late. Does not qualify for your response

Always order from here and food was amazing as it always is. But was late this time round but probably had loads of orders.

Unfortunately! Food arrived late hence was cold and hard chips and soggy cob! No sauce on burger as requested. Sent 3 wrong drinks instead of the two original ordered.

Food brilliant, just I order a time and comes to early when I'm going out,but I don't want to order it when I'm out as no one in if they deliver, it's a certain night, I order for 8.20 pm comes at 6pm but only happened twice,but awkward telling delivery people your going out and don't want it this early, I can understand this shop being busy as food is lovely but does need to note time as I don't want food from anywhere else.

The order was late and part of it was missing, when we told them something was missing we got blamed saying we ordered it wrong?

Delivery took 2.5 hours. I had to chase to see where the food was. They said was busy the driver stated it wasn't that busy. I asked for a part refund due to waiting a while and was declined It's a shame as used numerous times before

one item was missing on my order and I phoned them up and it was sorted and the missing item arrived approximately 10 minutes later great customer service and the food was great.

Makes a change to get a chicken kebab that's bang on good chicken fresh salad and the chips and battered sausage were nice too definitely go again

We only live a couple of minutes from the shop! And it took over 40 minutes from the notification from the shop to say it was on its way!!!! :'-(

Ordered food to be delivered for 8pm, arrived 20 minutes early. We were not ready to eat, but had too. I asked for salt and vinegar to be added to the fish and chips, it was not. The food was not very hot, really disappointed.

Late delivery. 6 garlic mushrooms. Nachos on plastic cheese. Looks awful. Never again will I order. Wish I could take a photo. Looks so sickly. Oh and food was cold. Stay away guys.

pre ordered at 3.45 chip shop confirmed at 4,25 delivery said 5,30. at 5.45 i called them. they said they had no driver til 6pm. i said ok these things happen, as long as the food was still hot. this chip shop is literally a 5 mins walk from my house, the food came by car yet the food was still cold!!!!

I probably don't need to leave yet another great review, one item missing if order but they sent it out, dnt mind as know its not a often thing, and all the other food was red hot which is important esp with kebab, great team working to supply us with a good size good price family meal, money is tight for most so its important that a take away treat delivers on Time good food quality and warm these guys always get it spot on that's why we always use them, thanks again guys appericated

This use to be the best chip shop around. Now they are using new potatoes, the chips are now soggy and in places hard. Losing customers to save cost swapping potatoes is a poor business decision. Edit* My son decided to buy some chips on the way home - not only have the portion of chips gone up 60p they were cold, he had to throw them away!!!!! 😤

Order on just eat but when food arrived chips were uncooked I rang the restaurant to be told that its because they are new potatoes and 100 % cooked ....I was the one eating them and they didn't taste or feel cooked

Thanks guys as always hot food good portion size and good quality food some places stuff slips when busy...you lot always put the extra graft in to supply a great service, when money is tight for most a decent takeaway is a treat now days so we always use you guys as its always good value for money .

Great food, and just the right amount, I had kebab and chips in a box,delivery guy was pleasant.

The hot dog was freezing and the fish had thick black skin on it and couldn’t be eating without scraping it off. The chips had no flavour- no salt or vinegar so they were bland. The children did enjoy their fish cakes.

I ordered my food Saturday and as soon as I put the order in I realised I'd done a collection not delivery, I rang the shop,and the very nice lady sorted it for me,and the food was very nice.

I used to come to this place to get food and also the manger I really don't know where to start but he is so rude to his staff In the back I heard him shouting at a poor lad for going to get the chips which they needed which I think is so unfair I went in there last night when he normally on he seemed a hard working chap I no longer know if he works there or not but don't get me start I would rather find a new chippy where the staff are kind to there customers and where there food is not greasy all I can say is that I will never be comeing back to this horrible place and they have lost a consumer for good ALSO I don't how people in wheelchairs can get food from this place as there no way of them to get in the shop

Food was cold and onions put on despite instructions not to put on food. Contacted restaurant to be told salad makes the meal go cold and they are busy can't I just pick the onions out. NO I'm allergic to the onions and now the whole meal is contaminated. Very poor from restaurant.
