Panagis was a great server! The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and great food! Highly recommend visiting this restaurant

We booked for afternoon tea, celebrating a birthday. We were sat in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by numerous other guests. It was deafening and we could barely hear each other, we asked to move but were told it was just as noisy wherever we sat. The afternoon tea was fine, very average. Once delivered to our table we were completely ignored by the waiting staff and had to get up to ask for the bill. Really poor all round dining experience, wouldn’t visit again.

Booked for a table for eight adults, and was presented this… couldn’t even get five round it. Waiter could offer this (see photo) - what a joke. Special Christmas dinner ruined.

Disappointing visit after a lovely experience in July. Very disinterested, standoffish staff, one starter was inedible (was removed from the bill). Food was fine once I had recovered from the iconic steak pie being removed from the menu! The restaurant was almost empty so no excuse for poor service, the whole ambience was missing - was cold literally and figuratively. Such a shame - we left and had our champagne and coffees elsewhere

Booked Browns for afternoon tea for a friend. Delay being seated while staff talked to each other over customers. Seated in the noisiest thoroughfare in the restaurant although frankly the whole place seated people about an elbow apart where you couldn’t hear the people you were with due to the wall of noise inside. Long wait for menu, waiter to order, food and then tea which arrived with no milk. Incredibly average food. Then yawn inducing wait for the bill while staff appeared to openly display discord to each other in the middle of the restaurant. Just rubbish. Will never visit again. Would give no stars if I could

As indicated, my wife and I ate here on recommendation of hotel staff. It was a delicious meal and reasonably priced - with good service. The restaurant felt like an older establishment -but has been kept updated. We wanted traditional "fish and chips" and the piece of fish we each were served covered our plate. It was perfectly breaded and fried and tasted wonderful. As an American traveler in the UK I would recommend this as a good non-chain restaurant choice.

After many emails sent to this restaurant and still no reply from them…. The actual meal was shockingly bad and they can’t even be bothered to apologise, terrible customer service!! Here’s a copy of my original email sent…. ‘We attended Browns at Butlers Wharf yesterday (18th December 2021) for an annual girls Christmas meal. We always go to your Covent Garden restaurant, which we have never had a complaint about, but thought for a change we would go to Butlers Wharf as it has recently been refurbished, sadly this was not a good idea! 1. The service was shockingly slow, we waited far too long for orders to be taken and food / drinks to be served. We couldn't understand as looking around the restaurant seemed relatively empty. 2: Two people ordered prawn cocktail to start, these came out without the bread as stated on the menu. The waiter told us it didn't come with bread so we then showed him the menu and he 'huffed' then walked away to the kitchen and came back with a plate of bread. 8. This is the worst part…. Four people ordered the Turkey roast from the festive menu. The food on all four plates was cold, not even remotely warm. Every item of food was just room temperature. I can only assume this is pre cooked the day before and the chef forgot to warm them?! This is absolutely terrible and a dangerous health risk! We complained and was told they would bring us hot gravy to warm the food (?)... but then the gravy!came out also cold?! I can't believe how anyone could serve a dinner and gravy which had clearly not been heated at all. We then complained again and were offered a new meal, which by this point no one wanted. The manager said that all he could do was to take the cost off the bill. But this only worked out to be £5 pp. The festive menu was £38 for 3 course and £33 for two. For me in particular I only had two courses. so ended up paying £28 tor a desert, which is ludicrous. 4. There was no cranberry sauce for a festive menu? 5. We paid £70 deposit which at first wasn't taken off the bill. We questioned this and were told that you have to agree the full bill before they take off the deposit and print a new receipt This obviously is not the way it is done. This was supposed to be a lovely relaxed meal and it turned into a disappointment. I would appreciate being contacted on the below number to discuss this and would expect a reimbursement. I can only assume these issues are a one off as we have previously really enjoyed your other restaurants.’ AND STILL NO REPLY!!! I wonder if I will get some kind of response now….????

Excellent food and at a very reasonable price considering the location. Staff friendly. Advise you book in advance as this is Theatre land location so busy early and late evening.

Lovely food - great to see a separate menu for gluten free. There wasn’t a huge choice for me but all the food brought to our table was delicious 😋

Wonderful menu including fish and chips with a light, crisp Batter), baked camembert, steak. Attentive, friendly service. Atmosphere comfortable with two Teenage girls but could imagine it being suitable for a more intimate occasion as well. Just lovely!

We order shepherd pie, lobster and steak for dinner The food was nice. My niece ask for a change of steak as it was not Medium Rare. It was well done. The waiter simply said he would change the steak. In 5 mins, change came. I rather like the service attitude. Place was cosy , not crowded. It was a great place to have quiet dinner.

We have been here four times before and each time the food is of the highest quality and standards. The dishes change with the seasons so there's always something new to try. The service staff are lovely and attentive and always have time for any questions. Roughly for three course meal it's about £40 a head ( I spent £250 ish for five of us with wine). But for the quality of the dishes I would highly recommend.

Después de un largo día de reuniones tuvimos algunas bebidas y la cena en el restaurante Browns.Teníamos la opción de 3 opciones para la cena.Me dieron la ensalada de queso como entrante. Era buena, pero no espectacular. Otros otros de hígado de pato y fue muy bueno. Como plato principal me dieron la carne a la parrilla, otros los champiñones tarta y otros el estofado de lubina. Todos eran buenas opciones.Como postre, no elija cualquier pero la creme tulle era buena según recomendaciones, así como el caramelo profiteroles.

Nous avons manger le soir en terrasse. Beau restaurant dans un quartier calme le long de la Tamise avec une vue imprenable sur le Tower Bridge illuminé.Menu correcte avec entrée, plat et dessert. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Service par de jeunes serveurs un peu confus.

Decepcionante, ha ido cuesta abajo y sha no volver. Fuimos a almorzar hoy y la elección era este lugar, donde hemos estado antes y que ha sido bien, y un italiano de enfrente que no hemos probado. Después decidí por marrones, los niños siendo hambre acabo de llegar de Londres, subió las escaleras y esperamos donde el cartel nos dijeron. Y esperé. Y esperé. En vista completa de un camarero. Finalmente llamó a un chef bell cuando la directora se acercó y nos sentamos. Entonces esperamos. Y esperé. Y esperé. Un camarero (quizás lo que dan el nombre de) vino y tomó nuestros pedidos, vino una rebanada de pan de ajo para mi hija de arranque y luego fue esperar 30 minutos (hay un tema aquí como usted puede decir) hasta el resto. Yo estaba muy muy tentado a levantarse y salir, pero el italiano tenía por entonces se llenaba.Una cosa que pedimos pan fermentado como picar, ni siquiera hacer una aparición.En la justicia la comida era agradable y buena relación calidad-precio, pero la experiencia en general nos hizo, para el segundo vez en años de comer fuera, no pagar el servicio discrecional y hemos resuelto, me temo, nunca volver. Es demasiado tiempo!Browns ha bajado en picado en los últimos años. Esto no fue un problema de capacidad, cuando llegamos había sólo cuatro mesas ocupadas, este lugar sufre de mala gestión que permite personal tanto soso esperando. No apoyo que sha de nuevo. Pizza!

Espere 20 minutos para pedir, así que me fui hasta el bar y sólo me dijeron que ir y esperar (deberíamos haber caminado fuera) cuando tuvimos finalmente les pedimos esperar 25 minutos tenía que llegar para ellos. Estaban tirados en la mesa cuando no llega y la camarera se rió! Los cócteles estaban lejos de increíble débil y cálida.Me habían dado vales de regalo para Croquetas pero la camarera no sabía cómo los procesos. De nuevo tuvimos que esperar 30 minutos para que un gerente a ellos las el director quitó el recubrimiento protector para revelar el código de cupón (que también hace de válido) y luego dijo que no lo aceptan. Me dijo que tome con la oficina central y se fueron dejandome vales de regalo que no puede usarse como él ha rayado del código vladating.Simplemente no puedo creer que el servicio al cliente puede ser tan malo con actitud mediocrecasi no había ningún cliente en el bar ese día, así que no había necesidad de su falta de servicio.

Bonito restaurante abierto con ventanas de vidrio alrededor de un lado, es un ambiente muy agradable y estaba muy lleno. Nuestra camarera Gabriella era muy agradable y eficiente.

Reasonably priced with fantastic staff and great food. Wine and beer is good without having to take out a mortgage!

Celebrated our Wedding anniversary going to a theatre then a visit to the National Gallery then fell into Browns Busy, loud & exhuberant ; that applies to the atmosphere, waiters and food. Haute cuisine it isn't but a pleasant, enjoyable evening helped with a bottle...

We came after theatre and my kids had chicken liver pate and Caesar salad with chicken, were fine. My daughter ordered Bloody marry that was so spicy she could not drink it. Even after adding tomato juice, still was too spicy. So, bewareI had a browny that was lovely. The restaurant is very big, two floors above the glass sculpture. Has a big bar, sitting many people . Still we did not wait too long. A nice finale for the evening.

The member of staff who served us was extremely good - she knew the menu and was able to discuss how the ingredients were used and even contrasted the UK use of ingredients with other countries!

Have visited Browns for many years and been satisfied with the overall standard of food and service. What ever happened this time the food was awfull and the service? Well there was none. Will not be going again.

Was in Browns for a private party for nealofa hijabs the other day The restaurant was a bit small but I really loved the decor very Gatsby styleThey gave us a private room which was lovely The food was really good I really enjoyed the eclairs The staff were really accommodating and friendly I didn't give it a 5 star only because they forgot the sugar and didn't come back to refill the tea #bubblegumhijab

Visited Thursday 28th April and had a great meal. Miki was an excellent waiter very funny and chatty, made the meal that much nicer, definitely recommended

I absolutely loved the food at this restaurant from the starter to the desert and the after dinner cocktails I had the egg and asparagus to start then the pulled pork burger and finished off with the chocolate brownie. The good thing was the price was so reasonable. It was my first visit but will definitely be going back again.

Had a business lunch here, great service, good food and great location. As the restaurant is not on Canary Wharf owned land the prices are reasonable. A 5 min walk from Canary Wharf tube it's a great location, perfect any day of the week. Highly recommend for family/business occasions.

We have often gone to Browns Restaurants in London and it has always been enjoyable Whether you want a quick meal or stay for the night it's a great buzzing place The staff were really nice on this occasion Had a really nice waiter who really cared My husband had the Seabass and I had a burger and Apple Pie and custard of the set menu at £14.95 Not bad for London Plus drinks our bill only came to £38 Would recommend highly We never have booked and always managed to get in although it looked packed Great place

Torno per l'ennesima volta in questa calda brasserie dal sapore internazionale, ma dall'indubbia atmosfera britannica. Vado sul classico: fish and chips, che come ricordavo è cucinato in tempura e non regala brutte sorprese. Nelle precedenti visite ho assaggiato vari piatti, senza rimanere mai deluso. Il conto considerando la zona è più che accettabile, la selezione dei vini pure, sulle birre si potrebbe fare meglio anche se l'amstel alla spina ha fatto la sua figura.

I've been to Browns a couple of times in the past two months. Both times, I have found the food really good. My meals have been crab and prawn linguine last month. That was incredibly tasty. There could have been a bit more, but other than that no complaints.I was there on Saturday evening, 1st August at 7. It was a beautiful evening in the lovely London sunshine. There are so many restaurants to choose from along there, so it's nice to have a choice.I had a couple of margaritas - excellent, then has the Sea Bass fillets. They were excellent, although the bed of pearl barley risotto was bland and dry. I didn't know what it was supposed to taste like anyway. They should have skipped that and used a couple of vegetables and maybe some fragranced rice or potatoes. My dining partner chose the Brown's Burger and it looked dry to me, and the onion rings were greasy.The service is very strange there. It felt as if our waitress wanted us out almost as quickly as we got in there. There is attentive - may I get you this or get you that and I'm coming over every couple of minutes to see if you've decided on your meal yet.We did have a very pleasant time, though. If you can bag a table outside during the summer, you have the makings of a perfect evening.

This chain restaurant with locations all over the UK. Its a pub style restaurant with nice pub style food, relaxing atmosphere and some interesting craft beer. It's a nice alternative to sitting in a loud English Pub where you have to order at the bar. So it's a great alternative if you want to relax, enjoy and be able to talk some business.

Good pre theatre menu choice with 2 courses for £14.95.Great value for money in the heart of London.Excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiter. It was Monday evening but an hour before was able to reserve a table even though they were very busy.

Browns will leave you wanting more. They have a diverse range of food to order and the service is great. The staff are attentive and the service is quick.The garlic bread is very tasty. The food can be on the expensive side but it's worth it for the great service.

I had lunch here with some work colleagues. It is a lovely building. Couldn't fault the service and the food was lovely. I had smoked haddock fishcake and it was really tasty. Would recommend this place.

Browns restaurant is very clean and comfortable ! For us ladies it's very important that the toilets are also very clean . The service was fast and efficient , the food was hot well presented and very tasty also a good price . I had browns recommended to me and I would pass on this recommendation

We booked on line for 6pm on a Saturday.....and when we arrived there was a queue of other people who had also booked. We waited in line for over 30 minutes with only an explanation that people who were eating earlier were taking longer to complete their meals than they expected!!!! What an excuse for an experienced restaurant. As it was raining and we were getting wet, we left in disgust and vowed never to return,

When we entered the restaurant,it seemed lacking in atmosphere,although it was early evening.Were given the 'early bird' menu,which we didn't want .We wanted the a la carte.Food was ok and reasonably priced.Think this is more a place for after work meal,rather than a special occasion.

Got into Canary Wharf around 8:30pm and looked for a dinner spot in West India Quay. None of the restaurants along the quay inspired us but we chose Browns as it looked vibrant for a Sunday night, and it was.We were given a choice of tables and the waiter was friendly. We got our drinks promptly and our shared starter arrived very quickly. It was seared tuna, which was well presented although if I was picky, I would say the accompanying pickled veg & fruit was a little overpowering for the fish. However all good to this point. We had both ordered burgers, even though I was reluctant to pay that much for a burger.We then waited for an age for our mains to arrive - 2 burgers! - in a far from packed large restaurant. When they did arrive, my fries were barely warm. It's all about getting the small things right and it will create the right impression. Hot fries are basic. The next basic is the burger bun - it was hard to cut and tasted like cardboard. The supposed star was the Iberico Pig burger which was less than inspiring, making me wish I had chosen something else. Burger & fries done well is a winner - see GBK - but delivered poorly, it raises so many questions about a restaurant. Then when they charge you £15, you definitely feel short-changed.In the spirit of full disclosure, my wife enjoyed her chorizo burger! The long wait and the disappointing result killed it for me. Total price including wine at £20.50 and 10% tip was £64...

Being a Browns fan this was my first visit to the West India Quay restaurant and I was not disappointed. A great premise to eat in with good food and atmosphere. Not a huge choice but still plenty of variety for each course. Good value including the drinks. Already planned my next visit for July.

Met some friends for lunch at Browns (Old Jewry) near Cheapside, London, lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated and clean. As we are all vegetarian we asked for a selection of vegetable side dishes as well as humous and other delights, it was absolutely lovely. The staff were sweet and patient and allowed us a few samples of wine, as we could not make up our minds which one to choose, going back next week with some moe friends.
