I recently attended the Commscope Anixter event at Browns Old Jewry in London, and it was absolutely fantastic! The venue itself is a stunning blend of historic charm and modern elegance, providing the perfect backdrop for such a dynamic event. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that everything ran smoothly throughout the day. The atmosphere was vibrant, filled with engaging discussions and networking opportunities. The layout of the space allowed for both formal presentations and casual conversations, making it easy to connect with others in the industry. Additionally, the catering was top-notch, with a great selection of delicious food and beverages that kept everyone energized. Overall, Browns Old Jewry exceeded my expectations, and I can't recommend it enough for events like this. I look forward to returning for future occasions!

Ducked in here for a quick bite with my husband during the lunch service. Setting was lovely, especially the high ceilings and decor giving an elegant vintage vibe and even though it was fairly full with customers the space meant it didn't feel overly busy. Food was a pretty standard gastro pub selection but what we were impressed with was the level of service. Polite and attentive waiting staff coupled with the fact that after an issue with the food was raised, the manager came over and personally apologised and made an amendment to our bill to compensate for the inconvenience - something we didn't ask for but the gesture was very much appreciated.

We had a great night at Browns, the food was amazing combined with nice atmosphere and service. Niko looked very well after us. We definitely will be back. Thanks.

I came here for dinner with my friends. The dish I loved was seafood pasta. The environment was so nice. Staff was so welcoming. We have been served by lovely rosario. Hands down for his service. In short every thing was amazing will definitely be back soon.

Came in for a date night with my partner. The atmosphere and life of the restaurant was welcoming and lovely. We were served by Eirini, who gave us the best service I have every revived at a browns. Very attentive and helpful made our night 10 times better. We had the how to chateau experience for two which was absolutely phenomenal! And the salt and pepper squid was gorgeous. Eirini made sure we had everything we needed Including some absolutely perfect cocktails. I would 100 percent recommend this browns and we will be back Thank you so much to everyone here you made this night perfect.

I came on Saturday night , the restaurant was pretty much empty, witch I don’t understand why , the vibes inside were welcoming and relaxing , nice music in background. The menus is. Composing by classic dishes like shepherds pie, fish and chips , fish pie but with decide to go for their special the sea bass risotto , the waiter was right same goes for the fillet steak, tender like butter . I have to be honest I go out many times but usually I don’t leave any reviews but I took a few minutes to write this one because I was really impressed by Rosario’s dedication and attention to details.

I really enjoyed time spent here with my son. It's cosy and relaxing. Niko gave us a very warm welcome and provided excellent service through out.

it was a beautiful evening. dinner with my family and friends. we sat on the small sofa behind everything, quiet enough to have a nice evening with the family. the food was very good. we enjoyed several dishes including shrimp, scallops and main courses of ribeye and linguine with crab and shrimp. everything is very good our waiter was the Italian Rosario, really very nice and I wish him the best both professionally and personally.

I come to Brown's Old Jewry often, and it has become my favourite place to unwind after work. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the staff truly make the experience exceptional. A special mention to Kayleigh, who is an absolute star! She is always professional, attentive, and brings such a warm energy to the place. Her service is impeccable, making every visit a pleasure. Whether you're here for a quick drink or a relaxed evening, Brown's Old Jewry never disappoints. Highly recommend it!

Waiters were very attentive. Good wine selection. Atmosphere was calm but nice for group socialising on a weekday evening. The burger was a bit salty and they didn't have two options available from the menu, which was disappointing. If it were local, I would go again to see if there were things missing from the menu again. If it doesn't happen often, I would recommend this place, however I wouldn't know and I won't be returning as it's far from home. The photos show the one burger option and the shepherds pie.

Went on Friday for an anniversary based on a recommendation. The food was fantastic and the drinks were too,Very strong. I love Browns because it's a blast from my past - at uni it was the place to go, with queues out the door. Browns Old Jewry on a cold January Monday was quieter, but still with the palms, ceilings and (ok, slightly changed) menu that I remember. The staff were excellent, finding somewhere for a phone to charge, looking after us efficiently and politely, giving advice on the food and smiling through our staggered arrivals. The food was good and if you're looking for somewhere friendly and affordable in the City to eat, give Browns a try!

A business lunch before Christmas and had the Festive Set Menu. Having the menu was a huge mistake, very poor quality on the cooking of the vegetables with the main and zero effort in any presentation on any of the dishes. The prawn cocktail my colleague had was laughable: some leaves of iceberg lettuce thrown at the plate, some soggy prawns chucked on top with cocktail sauce lumped on top. Wasn't worth £48 by any means. Service staff were over-worked with multiple large tables, management clearly decided that high turnover of diners, low cost ingredients and minimum staff numbers would maximise profit for December sufficiently to lose all the customers in January onwards.

We had a lovely meal, food was delicious and our waiter, Niko, was fantastic, incredibly attentive and helpful with meal choices. Our experience was not rushed, but not slow. A wonderful experience for us all.

Lovely lunch here ahead of a visit to the Barbican nearby just before Christmas. As I had hoped it was really nice and chilled compared to the West End at that time of year being in the City. Lovely food, good service, really nice building and ambience.

Normally I do like Brown's. However today I went there with a colleague for an early dinner. We got a table despite Xmas season going on and that's good. But a very uninspiring waiter totally put us off. We ordered wine and 2 main courses. Then after a while he came back and told us that the wine was not available and after another while my main course was not available. His attitude was not nice and my colleague and myself decided to leave. In my humble opinion waiters should know what's available or not on the menu. This could have been acceptable if his attitude had been more customer friendly.

Myself and six colleagues went here for a lovely Christmas lunch. We were given a lovely private table and everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

We had our Christmas lunch at Browns (at Bank). The place was beautifully festive, and the food was nice. However, I wouldn't book it again due to the atmosphere – it was far too echoey with excessive background noise. The music was also too loud, making it difficult to speak to the person sitting next to us. Even the waiter seemed frustrated as he struggled to hear our orders. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing; we all felt like we just wanted to finish our meal and leave as soon as possible. In the past, I’ve had great experiences at Browns, which is why I chose it for our team outing. Sadly, this time, it was disappointing.

We have been served by an outstanding gentleman named Rosario who went above and beyond on his service provided to us. We celebrated a birthday and we were a kind of worry to celebrate it in a busy environment like this but he left a mark on us all where we enjoyed great food and was blown away from his service.

We arrived at the venue at 12:30pm. Nothing was great after that. Our experience of the visit was not pleasant. It started with the reception desk at the front door, when the lady did not look too happy and instead abruptly said "we need the table back in 2 hours". Then when we were seated, we didn't receive the menu until we asked after waiting about 10 mins!! Then when we did order our food, the starter arrived reasonably promptly. BUT then the main course was no where to be seen. A lady came to apologise after about 30 mins of waiting that the food preparation is taking a bit longer than expected. However, the food didn't arrive until 2pm!!! When it did arrive, my Chicken Schnitzel and Fries were COLD. The pasta that was also served was cold!!! The waiter said that the Shepherd's Pie was "dropped" and the guest should order another main course. Eventually my recooked chicken schnitzel arrived piping hot but that time it was 2:30pm. So all in all pretty annoying given that the lady at reception commanded us to leave the table in 2 hours and we hadn't been served the main course for 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING.

We booked months ago and they still came back to tell us the pie we ordered was out of stock - waited for an hour+ for food… - they overbooked the place, waited for hours for food and still rushed us to clear tables as the next parties arrived… won’t be back again

We went for a Christmas Meal, had a dissapointing prawn cocktail, Roast Turkey, then Christmas Pudding, with custard and to tiny bits of brandy butter, very dissapointing for £48 per head, and both my husband and I had upset Stomachs afterwards!. Defo won't return to Brown's.

We booked the champagne bottomless brunch here, we was really looking forward to it as we were celebrating a milestone birthday but it was quite disappointing. The lady who first served us was lovely, I didn't get her name but the rest of the staff werent as friendly, we didnt even receive a happy birthday from them, something small which would have improved the service. The food was mediocre for what you pay for, its not a whole lot. They also kept looking over our table the entire time, not to offer drinks, almost keeping tabs on how much we were drinking, which wasn't a lot. We started our 90 minute brunch about 20 minutes after we arrived, which was fine until we asked for one more glass before our time was up and the waiter/manager was hesitant and not very accommodating, we did get the last glass of champagne but it felt as though we were being judged. When receiving the bill, the receipt was not clear at all and looked as though service charge had been added twice so we queried it, it should be clearly set out to avoid any uncomfortable attention.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Browns Old Jewry. The Christmas menu was superb and the drinks were also spot on. As expected, it was incredibly busy due to the Christmas season, but the staff handled it brilliantly. There were plenty of them, and they were all so friendly and full of energy, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Their festive cheer really got us into the Christmas mood. Highly recommend for a festive celebration. We’ll definitely be back next year.

Big, noisy place. Waited for a table even though we’d booked and then given it 20 minutes after booking time. As for the food, it’s expensive and average. £10 for a lemon tart which tasted like it came out of a box! Scampi was good but at £12 for 12 pieces means it’s not value for money. Lemon sole over cooked but the accompanying potato’s were nice. All in all average place but the service was good when we were seated. Not sure I’d go back ever

Wonderful experience. I was in desperate need of a gluten free meal after a long trip from NY and day at the office. I was able to trust the menu that I was getting gluten free food. Then the food was excellent. I put together my own version of fish and chips via their menu. The risotto was to die for and the truffle chips were heavenly. Service was friendly and considerate. They made sure my dietary needs were handled correctly. THEN I after returning to NY I realized I forgot to grab a receipt for expenses. Tameka was able to get me a copy of the receipt in under 24 hours. I will return on my next business trip.

We just moved to London and we’re happy to find that this chain is accredited by the Coeliac Association and has a decent GF menu because I have celiac disease since 2005 and require a gf diet. We turned up after the parade without a reservation and it wasn’t very full so we were seated. Well, the server seemed nice but after taking our order we waited 11 minutes and still had no drinks! We literally ordered Hot tea and tap water. The easiest drinks available. The server also informed us that the GF onion rings on the menu were not actually available. Sounds like someone in the kitchen was too busy to chop up an onion and coat it and fry it in a dedicated fryer. When we entered there was loud music and then suddenly it was off or you couldn’t hear it anymore. The vibes were very Pub Grub, Bro vibes. We left without waiting any longer for water tea or food. I hope ALL the patrons here are not bashful and ask for all service charges to be removed from your total cost unless you receive impeccable service. Womp womp

I went to an engagement party here. The venue was lovely and vibrant. The canapés were lovely. We were still a bit peckish. We ordered some food, it arrived warm and not hot, it had to be sent back twice. In the end, I got a refund on the rest of my order as I waited too long. It was a shame as the venue and staff were wonderful. I think the kitchen was under pressure!
