Brown's Kitchen in Breckland

Lovely restaurant. Perfect for stop if travelling long distance. Good range of food from perfect breakfasts to lunch and I believe they do themed evening although never been. They scones are delicious.

We received a very warm welcome upon arrival, we had two partially sighted friends and the staff were kind enough to bring over the menu board to make our lives easier. We had two dogs with us who were each offered some treats and water. A sausage for the dogs was also produced much to the excitement of our furry babies. The food was of a high quality standard, the eggs cooked to perfection, the hash brown crispy and everything hot and tasty. We had a vegetarian amongst us and the staff upgraded her breakfast with an additional hash brown without us even asking. Overall, very happy and would highly recommended.

Very pleasant, good service enjoyed the food. Plenty of space we were seated immediately and had a very enjoyable time.

We have been stopping here on the way to Norfolk for many year. Food has always been very good and staff very welcoming. It is always busy which is a very good indication. They have plenty of reserved tables, but always manage to find us a place and food is served promptly. It doesn’t look much from the outside but you won’t e disappointed if you pull in off the roundabout and enter inside.

Comfortable, lovely staff. Nice atmosphere. The food is good to OK.. A better selection of vegetables would add an extra star! I think the photo says it all.. Everything is there but lacks a bit of finesse!

Why have I never been before? Fabulous food and lovely atmosphere. Staff are friendly and the food is delicious. I had toasted barbecue chicken and cheese toasted sandwich with chips followed by apple crumble and custard and it was delicious.

Stopped by for breakfast with my wife. Ordered the full English. It was as good as it gets, looked great and tasted better . Definitely going back. Friendly , good service reasonable prices.

The bean burger is real good… and when I asked for ice tea the waitress politely asked me if serving a hot pot of tea, few sliced. Lemons and lots of ice would do…. Better than most ice teas I would have back home in sunny Florida. Nice clean and friendly place to eat lunch!

Excellent from start to finish, very attentive and helpful staff. The Lakeland muesli is the best, and the owner has given me the info to source it myself and my partner enjoyed his full English and was particularly impressed with the great customer service. We’ll be back for sure.

Fab as always! We visit Browns every year for breakfast on our way to and from holidaying in Norfolk and it never disappoints! The staff are lovely and the food is delicious!

We stopped by for a light lunch before going out for a walk in the woods. The manager and staff were great- they were so welcoming and friendly and accommodating for our 8 month old baby. Anywhere that dotes on the baby like that gets out vote! Spacious, clean and lovely atmosphere.

Had an excellent lunch yesterday and so accommodating with everyone’s dietary requirements. All staff so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Always visit when meeting friends in Thetford Forest.

Had an amazing platter to share between two of us for lunch. Brilliant value and a “doggie box” to take the leftovers home! We’ve been before for a great English breakfast.

This cafe is excellent. We come here regularly whilst out cycling. It's always a friendly welcome, and good food at reasonable prices (I personally don't think it's as pricey as it's rated. There is outdoor or indoor seating and plenty of car (and bike!) parking. I can't fault it and will always come back again. 🙂

Awful breakfast. Bacon tasted like it was cooked in the microwave and ingredients were very basic. Mushrooms were dry, eggs were hard, sausages were tasteless. No one came around and asked how the food was. Extremely expensive for how basic it was. Will not be returning.

Over all food was lovely would just like to say one of the waitresses was very abrupt. The lady with the blonde curly hair who was very confident in letting us know how busy they were to the point of making us feel very uncomfortable. I appreciate how busy and stressful hospitality can be however making customers feel un easy is totally unacceptable

Nice cafe with a good atmosphere and good food. Hubby had the steak baguette with chips and I had the strawberry and raspberry sundae and both were lovely. Easy to find and to park and reasonably priced food and drinks. Found this place by accident and will be going back again soon as.

Arrived on a cloudy morning to be greeted by a lovely, bubbly lady who welcomed us with a big smile! Given a choice of table, drinks order taken and have to say the latte was one of the best I have ever had. No pressure on food ordering, allowed to take our time and was offered alternatives to baked beans. Great tasty breakfasts, everything piping hot, lovely chunky toast. This place is really great, love the eclectic decor, the staff are polite, nothing is too much trouble. Also, and I have to add this, there was actually hot water in the taps in the loos, which were spotless. I can't recommend this place enough. We will be back!!

It is rare to find a different type of establishment. Mark or Penny are there to greet you and offer a super menu which is very well presented and cooked. It’s the sort of place that you want to return to

My wife and I stumbled across Browns Kitchen whilst taking a scenic route home from Kings Lynn and I'm pleased we did.It sits next to a roundabout on a route through Thetford forest and offers a really nice menu which, to be honest, I wasn't expecting. The food was very good - well cooked and presented with good sized portions and very reasonably priced. The staff were pleasant and accommodating and although it's not a location we often go to, should we be heading back to Thetford and fancy a decent meal, it is certainly a restaurant we will head to. In my opinion, anywhere that serves bubble and squeak needs to be championed

They have got it spot on at Browns. The food is great and good coffee but to top it off the service is exceptional. Especially the blonde lady with the bronzed skin, she always makes you feel very welcome.

Popped in for lunch on the way through Thetford following a long ride. Was greeted at the door by the owner who was most welcoming. Inside the venue is lovely, great layout and decor. Had the poached eggs in red wine sauce which where epic. The burger for main was MASSIVE and great quality meat!! Girl friend had the fish finger sandwich which im lead to believe was brilliant too.Cant recommend this place enough, great local business!!

We had our staff Christmas party for the third year running at Brown’s last Friday late in to the night and was not disappointed, the place just gets better and better, 3 course meal, everybody delighted with the food, it was amazing, I personally went for the 6 hour cooked lamb shank on a bed of garlic mash and local seasonal vegetables, my partner had the lemon sole in a white wine mussel sauce and she said it was cooked to perfection, the service and the atmosphere was top draw, big thanks to all, especially Penny the manageress who is wonderful and her attention to personal detail is 2nd to non....Next year we will rebook, but I with my family will visit many times before then on our regular travels to The North Norfolk Coast, great place....Recommended.

Sorry, the Christmas menu meal was disappointing. French Onion soup was luke warm, roast turkey was dry, however the gravy was hot and tasty. My veg were a little burnt. My son had Christmas pudding which took all of three spoonfuls to eat. Service was a little haphazard which is unusual. Not up to Brown's usual good standard. We wish we had chosen from the main menu.

We chose to eat at Browns as it was equidistant from us on the North Norfolk Coast and relatives staying in Norwich.

Thank you Mark and team. Stumbled upon this place en route to Norfolk. Delicious food (brownies, fries and bubble and squeak were excellent in particular !). Lovely spacious layout. Catered so well for kids with colouring. So attentive and friendly, highly recommend.

The food here is way over priced in my opinion. I would not mind paying if it was tasty good food and although I had a very expensive bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast one morning which was good, my lunch was a disaster. The lunch menu is limited and not well explained. I though I was ordering fresh haddock with potatoes and peas. I got what can only be described as some sort of soup concoction with small bits of haddock in the middle and hard diced potatoes in a pea soup. I would not even have minded that but it was so bland that I actually had to add vinegar to get some flavour going. My friend had a cake and coffee and this set us back a few coppers off £20. A man at the next table had a burger and he was very disappointed with it. I may go in for breakfast but for lunch I will find an alternative.

Just love the food and staff here, consistently good, we always have the breakfast when heading to the Norfolk coast, fresh free-range eggs served on either white or granary toast made at the local bakers, wonderful sausages and bacon from the local farm via the butchers apparently around the corner in the village, with a choice of red or brown stokes sauce.
