Tried to book afternoon tea, when asked how many in the party we replied 4 adults and 1 GUIDE DOG. We had a late lunch (we arrived late afternoon) and had delicious food and drinks. I had a perfect pot of tea made with leaves, not bags, and was given a tea strainer. I'm very fussy about my tea and this was excellent! I had a very tasty soup and a large slice of very good lemon drizzle cake. My partner has raved about the curry he's had here in the past and today's chicken curry lived up to expectations! As usual we received impeccable service and we look forward very much to returning soon. Highly recommended and good value for money!

Went to this lovely little cafe when my partner went for a haircut opposite. Parking nearby. Sat down and the staff were just absolutely amazing, welcoming, so friendly. Told me about the specials too. Decided to order a tuna toastie (£7.95), which came with chips and salad. Also a pot of tea (£2.25) the toastie was seriously 10 out of 10. Big portion, so filling and was very tasty. Staff came to check up on me and were really friendly throughout. Really nice atmosphere too. Everyone seemed happy. Would highly recommend and definitely going again. The various options all sounded amazing!

Ordered quiche with salad and baked spud . Friend had garlic mushrooms, salad and chips . I don’t think the chef knows what a quiche is . It was smothered with melted cheese and soggy with oil. I’ve never had a slice of quiche with a thick layer of melted cheese covering it . I got the impression it was trying to be pizza . The pastry was totally sodden with oil and / or uncooked . The mushrooms were in batter and were definitely frozen .My friend was not impressed with them either We won’t be going there again . I think there are new owners and they’re trying to stick to the old menus but not able to . Try changing the menus to include food that you can cook well .

We came in for a bit of afternoon tea in the middle of the day and we were welcomed straight away. Very courteous and friendly staff, always apologising for any delay in getting you sat down and also ordering (although this was down to the fact that they were rigorously cleaning tables in between guests). As it was a nice day we sat in the small rear garden that has both covered and uncovered areas. A very nice tranquil and relaxing area. We both felt that there could be room for improvements- which should be made given how much good competition there is literally next door and around corners. Unfortunately we did not get our afternoon tea, as the waiter mentioned that this required pre booking. On the website, it mentions that pre-booking is advisable (please change this to mandatory) and on the menus onsite; it mentions that pre-booking is required for parties of 6 or more. Please update accordingly. We ordered the grilled club sandwich (lovely and fresh) and cream teas (choice of scone or cake). whilst the scone was warm and fresh, the cakes were clearly store bought. Although it can be difficult to prepare fresh cakes onsite with limited space, as the competition is so fierce in the area, it should be considered. Maybe partner with a local bakery (there is one literally opposite) as a supplier and boost their trade also?

The wife and I visited the bistro for a lazy Sunday brunch. From the roadside the bistro looks quite nice, the wide ranging menu pleasantly surprised us but upon walking into the main bistro did we discover the hidden gem of the rear outside seating area. A Very nice, clean area of tranquility. We ordered the Assam Tea, bacon sandwich and Eggs Benedict. I had the EB and have to say the bacon was lovely (thick and crispy), the poached eggs were cooked well and the hollandaise sharp and creamy. Raj the co-owner is a really chatty, friendly guy but with a wealth of high service experience. We shall be making this a regular destination from now on.Two areas of suggestion in an effort to elevate the ambience even further, (1) play a more sedate type of music on a Sunday morning as opposed to high temp dance music, and keep the volume a little lower, (2) I would make it a non-smoking area altogether as there was some smokers which reduced our satisfaction somewhat. I wish this little business every success and will try their full English breakfast next. Well done to Raj and his business partner.

Ordered a takeaway breakfast from here. Was not terrible but not that good either. Bacon - not bad but it's the traditional thickly cut back bacon and not smoked streaky bacon. Tomatoes - these were chopped tomatoes out of the can.Mushrooms, seemed like they had been fried up earlierBeans - regular Heinz beansSausages - seem to be of the cheaper varietyHash browns, the frozen variety similar to what everybody serves. Were not drenched in oil as they are at some other places.Packaging - styrofoam packaging instead of biodegradable cardboardIt's far from the worst breakfast I've had, but nothing to write home about. You can get a much better breakfast on Queens road at the corner of Queens Rd. and Montague, (the place beginning with 'H').

I was welcomed and shown to my seat on the lovely terrace behind the bistro. Equipped for all weathers, it didn’t mattered when the heavens opened towards the end of my meal as the canopy was simply wound out wider to shelter us from the rain rather than the sun. The menu is wide-ranging, whether you’re in for a quick coffee, a tipple after work, a light bite or a hearty meal. The specials board adds even more variety to the great menu. We decided to visit and previously had a good experience here so we expected the same. By far it was the worst experience we arrived at 3pm waited near the door to be seated no one greeted us, so I walked over to the kitchen with two worn out ladies saying there’s no food left we have nothing left? I explained we would be happy with a cuppa a slice of cake. We were ushered to a table with the lady saying they had been extremely busy. I asked if they could do a cheese toastie and waitress pulled her face saying only cold sandwiches as they were too busy! Our cups stank of detergent and the other waitress pulled her face snatched the cup walked off, whilst the other waitress said she would hot wash the cups to get rid of the smell. No cutlery came out and overall spending £30 for such a poor experience we won’t be visiting again. Leicester has plenty of lovely local cafes which will welcome you busy or not with a smile.

And it was lovely ! Good hearty portion and Micky, the front of house lady was pleasant and cheerful. While we were there we noticed other offers too like afternoon tea for two for £20 instead of 27.50 with tea or coffee. And something called cake time on Wednesdays where it’s slice of cake with a tea or coffee for £3.99 not £5.50. Certainly will be coming back again to try out these deals!

This tea room has gone down hill. My visit today was not nice and I will not be going back. We waited for a long time to be served, I then found out that we had to place orders at the till. Followed by that our food arrived and we only received 1 spoon of coleslaw. The slice of cake that we ordered was much smaller than I have had in the past. The portions of food are so much less compared with what we have in the past. The staff was limited and staff today was not very happy or friendly. I also noticed that the tearoom was not very busy compared with the times I have been before. I also found prices have increased and portion size have decreased. Very disappointed.

I have been to Browns several times for breakfast and have never been disappointed. The breakfasts have always been cooked to perfection and very tasty. The psychic afternoon was good fun but this was mainly due to the company and prosecco. The food was not up to the Browns standard of breakfast. The psychics as expected were not great. If you go for a laugh you will be fine just don't go expecting any messages or advice. One of the psychics said something like 'I see a celebration' I remarked that it was nearly Christmas to which he replied 'If you make it' well it's January and I am still here fit as a fiddle.

Warning!!! The decaf coffee cafetières explode!!! Scalded fingers and table unusable... good job could dash to sink behind the counter to reduce the pain 😳🤕 ☕️💥

What a lovely little place for afternoon tea! Light lunch, the best tea and cake selection that has your senses tingling with excitement! Definitely one of my favourite places for Tea and scones.

Great place to go for tea and cake or a light lunch! Staff amazingly friendly! The back garden seating area is great on a sunny day and a really nice atmosphere always! The salad and prosecco they serve during summer period is just delicious and a large portion! A pleasure to visit, well done!

We ordered a nut roast with apricot and goat's cheese. The nut roast was tasteless, smothered in apricot jam with a lump of goat's cheese on top.. We both found it totally unappetising. The coffee was awful - laced with UHT milk. The waitress didn't bother to come out to see us after she had served us. We decided never to return. Also don't risk having a scone: they are always over-microwaved. Jane C

Browns tea room is a very pleasant unpretentious treat, slightly old-fashioned in the nicest possible way. The cakes are scrumptious and you get a very decent-sized slice. Allandale Road is a bit of a shopping destination, and there is nothing nicer than to relax and have a good cup of tea at Browns when your bags have got a bit heavy.

The service was excellent, really efficient. On top of that the food was amazing, homemade cakes and a range of other delicious choices on the menu. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Traditional Sunday lunch (choice of roast with seasonal veg) - good choice of starters (my favourite is goats cheese and beetroot) and mouth-watering desserts to follow. Friendly and efficient service.

A lovely setting for high tea treat for my mum with cousin and her mother in law. Finger sandwiches, fresh no crusts- luxury. Huge warm scones with jam and cream and lovely wedges of cake. A great treat enjoyed by all and will return. Can also recommend the Sunday lunch, fresh, hot and tasty.

I regularly visit this tearoom which always has lovely home cooked food, scrumptious cakes and tea which is served with a strainer. The staff are willing to adapt the menu to suit your dietary needs. The carrot cake is stunning.

Always a great meal, to be had here, they serve tapas if you are not too hungry, but my friend and I had the pork belly which just melted I. Your mouth, the apple sauce was a great compliment along with the vegetables. Really enjoyed this meal. Their wine selection was also worth a look. Dessert, I had the Earl Grey cake which was a chocolate infused cake, with cream on the side, not being one who always eats dessert, this was a really good ending to the meal, as it was just the right texture and sweetness for me. 10 out of 10 Leinster Bistro keep it up.

Lovely, atmospheric and historic pub. Staff were friendly. Sunchaser was off but replaced without fuss. Food was excellent. Burgers delicious and scampi generously portioned. Do need to employ a proofreader for the their Desserts Board though!

Look is more of haphazard collection of items not arranged in an aesthetic way. Cluttered. No much seating available. Food is ok. I ordered pav bhaji take away. A big mistake. Sour tasting bhaji which is unique in an unpleasant way. Iconic Mumbai vada pav had been reduced to a mediocre burger like item. They take only cash. I saw people leaving without buying food for this reason. Owners have to wake up to the modern way of business.
