Quintessential old traditional pub, interesting details and very comfortable with great food menu and very tasty. Welcoming and great location in centre of town

Excellent pub that serves an superb pint of Tiger Beer (usually prior to an LCFC game). Recently indulged in some food at this location. Not a gastropub, but a decent solid offering.

Has gone down hill expensive beers slow service even when not busy

No matter what anyone says the food here is always the best. Presentation and taste. Did the smoke cheddar cheese ciabatta. Amazing

I just popped in for a quick glass of wine. I was surprised by the no cash policy. I didn't see the signs as I walked in, although they must be there. I went to pay with cash, only to be told by the barman that it was a cashless pub. I told him I didn't have a card on me and was told again it was cashless. I'm sure the barman was 'only doing his job'...I've heard that somewhere before, it didn't turn out too well. I used to use The Globe for years from the start of the 90's. It used to be a cool, non-conformist pub, full of non-conformist punters. Unfortunately, it seems to want to be governed by The Big State, which is where all this is heading. Won't be visiting again.

We came from Barcelona for a family trip and had lunch here. The food was amazing and Bexx was super nice to us, she recommended the food and let us try beers so we could decide. Definitely a must if you come to Leicester

My local when I'm in town. Love the snug and the den and the atmosphere. The food is very good too. A pub full of history. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. OH n Sunday lunch yummy. With a nice large glass of Malbec. Edit.... Recent visit May 1st 2025 had a lamb shawarma roti wrap, omg divine the smokey garlic mayo was soo creamy. The filling of lamb and spicy cabbage just exquisite. A side of salad and chunky chips came with this dish. The Globe never ceases to impress with it's lovely food on offer.

We had delicious food and Bexx was super nice and charming with us. We definitely reccomend this restaurant and we’ll come back again soon!

Terrific atmosphere and service for our party of 15 for lunch. We returned later that night and it was a warm and hearty vibe. Very friendly staff and customers with a good pint of Tiger and a decent selection of non-alcoholic beers. Everyone was happy.

The Globe from the outside looks like a city centre pub that has city centre locals. Nothing wrong with that my issue is that this public house food and drink was lovely. The staff were engaging and nothing was a problem, they kept us up-to-date with the current menu list as certain items on the menu had run out no problem. The food was like home cooking I would have loved a bit more meat but hey I'm being greedy. I like finding these 'gem'of a pub. Good food a good beer/wine. Nice one 👍🏿

A traditional Everards pub in the heart of the city. Great atmosphere & decent food.

Been going to their a few times it's been okay but staff are not friendly to outsiders they pick who they want to have going to the pub so I don't recommend it pub is nice staff not so good

One of the oldest pubs in the city with outdoor tables that can be seen by the sun and indoor space as well. Large selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. They also have a separate Sunday menu. His fish n chips are one of the best we've tried, crispy and without much of a punch. The vegetarian lasagna is delicious, a dish I would definitely try again. I would definitely visit again to try more dishes from the menu. The staff was also kind.

Historical pub in the centre of the old town of Leicester, near the Guildhall and Cathedral. The pub itself also has some history, dating from the 18th century, and the interior is well decorated. I ordered the Steak and Ale Pie for £15.95. The presentation of the dish was a little disappointing - the pie was breaking apart, and simply dumped on top of the vegetables. The pastry of the pie was quite mushy, almost soggy. The mash, greens and steak inside the pie, had very little flavour and were quite bland in flavour, although the texture was satisfying. The gravy was quite nice and full of flavour, however. All the flavour in the dish was provided by the gravy. However, I cannot justify the price given that the dish relies entirely on the gravy for its flavour - you can get better Steak and Ale pies in for cheaper. Service was good. The bartender was friendly and helpful, running through the several options of pies available.

Our u3a History Group regularly make trips to sites of interest. Yesterday was to Richard III Museum ( The Globe is just 2 mins away) . Size of our group is at least 16 diners and some pubs struggle with this …. Not so The Globe, which provide a very good lunch at a reasonable price. Our pre-orders ranged from a soup to a full three courses, so we wanted somewhere with a wide selection. All dished were served hot and with little delay or fuss. All the staff were very friendly particularly the lady behind the bar who did most of the serving ( we had a private room upstairs) . So in summary , s very good lunch all round👍

Lovely pub with good selection of drinks. Great cosy, kind of "old english pub" atmosphere. One of our favourites! Loosing a star just because with no prices really available, you sometimes end up spending more than anticipated.

Sunday lunch was good. Options were varied. Kids are Sunday lunch for free. Service was great. Room was very cold, they needed to put the heating on.

Always call in when visiting Leicester. Good selection of beers and a busy, friendly city pub atmosphere. Too busy drinking to partake of food!

food was average, most of it not hot enough. Dont buy any of their alcohol free beer - they overcharge worse than anywhere else in the city! Poor generally, will not be going back again.

I've been here for 5-6 dates with my boyfriend now and it's been really nice every single time. The food, especially the loaded fries, and the beer is great, the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming and the staff are really nice.

Lovely historic but down to earth pub with delicious food - we had slow cooked lamb shank with cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and all the trimmings. Everard beer very good too and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Great place to eat and drink in Leicester

Lovely, atmospheric and historic pub. Staff were friendly. Sunchaser was off but replaced without fuss. Food was excellent. Burgers delicious and scampi generously portioned. Do need to employ a proofreader for the their Desserts Board though!

Thank you to the Globe for hosting our family lunch of 24 people, from little children to pensioners. The food, service and ambience were great. Thank you to Starla and Joey for looking after us all.

We've just been for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, 1st was with the kids before a light trail where we had the regular menu and on the back of such a positive experience and great food, we decided on a Sunday Lunch and it was amazing, tasty, fresh and fantastic portion sizes .....I honestly can say I've not had a better roast at a pub ever! Don't hesitate....book this little gem!

Experience was just average on arrival we were told they had decided to close by 5 so felt rushed and could not manage to eat the 3 courses we ordered so cancelled the desserts. Food again was very average turkey tasted like processed slices and yorkshires were overcooked. Some of the staff were not very welcoming so would not book again

We didn't eat here. We just had drinks. It was a real blast from the past. First drank here about 40 years ago when a bitg group of Goths drank in here, including us. Not much has changed, which was great to see. Certainly be back again.

We had the belly pork and it was all fat that I left all of mine pricey as well so much so that we wouldn't be eating in there again sorry globe

The Globe is a nice pub but £6 for a Guinness I think is expensive.

I have just been again to The Globe for lunch today which again was a wonderful cooked foods together with a wonderful dark stout beer, what's not to like about the Globe Pub & Food. I'm about to book a table for a Christmas Lunch in December, am looking forward to having a lovely Christmas Lunch at the Globe once again together with a wonderful dark stout ale too ! Awesome.. We have just enjoyed a delicious lunch here. I had the brisket & blue cheese baguette. Husband had the pulled pork burger. Both were beautifully cooked and mouthwatering to eat ! Yum. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Quite pricey for average beer, very busy crowded pub

Popped in for a quick bite and a pint. Just caught them for last food order time and had a lovely meal. Service was fantastic. Food was really tasty. Love this place deffo going back when I'm in Leicester again.

Came for lunch, and as usual it did not disappoint. Great after returning to Leicester after 10 years to see its still the best place to go in town. Staff very friendly and helpful as well.

Out with friends before the darts so called in for a quick pint , firstly the staff were as miserable as sin , a smile makes it more welcoming , £34 round and I popped to the loo leaving quarter of a pint on the bar with my friends - the other sour faced barmaid decided to swipe it then use some half arsed excuse that I should have put a beer mat on it - what a load of rubbish , guarantee that I’ll never set foot it this place again - Robbing *^%#* Oh and they don’t serve a full pint - had to ask to top it up. Wasn’t even busy !

Perfect place to meet a friend who traveled from Coventry for the day. Whilst I was home visiting family in Leicester. The staff made us very welcome as we sat and chatted. Food perfect.

On the corner in the city centre. It was very busy and we managed to get a table outside. Called in as it is a cask mark. Good beer and cider, only stayed for 1 drink as it was cold.

Had a work meeting here today and went for the pie and pint offer ( only Thursdays I think ). Food looked amazing and tasted equally good. Service from Bex was fantastic! 5 stars ! Would recommend 👍🏼

I think we entered after a busy session. Staff didn't acknowledge me at the bar whilst I was waiting yo be served. Food was nothing special. The lamb wrap came with a handful of chips. The lamb tasted watery with no flavour, definitely won't be back

Recommended to visit the globe so we did. Lovely old pub , looked ideal. We do not take cash, card only, we were informed, so we beat a hasty retreat, four hungry and thirsty customers left for pastures new. In these recession hit days I would have thought the brewers would be pleased to accept any currency.

As always the experience was amazing. This is the place to visit for your Sunday roast time :) my husband and I keep coming back almost every Sunday and without avail we’re happy with what we getting.

Just popped in for a drink, but nonetheless a great experience. Was served by Bexx again, and they were very friendly and attentive, both to me and other customers. The pub was being renovated when I visited, but it did not detract from the experience.

Layla the landlady is very friendly and accommodating to large groups and always lets my group Leicester round table in and looks after us with excellent food that’s more than just traditional pub grub. We have been here before as casual drop in mid week. This Sunday booked in advance for lunch. Service from Jed was excellent and the food was up to its usual high standard.

My partner & I went for lunch today again to the Globe Pub & Kitchen for another excellent lunch. I applaud Dave & Jo in the kitchen for the foods and drinks especially for the Czech Lager I love.. We had the Mediterranean Haddock which was wonderful in taste & ingredients loved it. I can always find a lovely dish on the specials board that Jo puts together each time we visit.. So congratulations Jo & Dave for your first class hospitality this lunchtime.. Foods how it should be cooked to order & home made! Wonderful... Having eaten once before we knew they could cater for my dietary requirements (gluten intolerant Vegan). Greeted by very friendly bar staff grabbed drinks (very good pinot Grigio) and sat in the very pleasant snug. Husband had the McCopterface burger (£1 donated to air ambulance)-excellent he said and I just had chips (really really good chips) as I’m not a big eater. We were served mainly by Jed who was lovely and very helpful with menu choices, I wasn’t going to have dessert but he mentioned the Vegan Ice Cream (which was also gluten free and I suspect homemade), my husband had the sticky toffee pudding, both magnificent. It’s been a long time since I’ve had the confidence to eat out with my limited diet, I haven’t enjoyed a meal this much for a long time, Chips and Ice Cream seems a simple meal to most people, but to someone who struggles with food intolerances it’s a huge thing. So thank you to Jed and the globe.

Nice, friendly place with plenty of indoor & outdoor (street) seating. Haven't tried the food, but there's a good selection of everything boozy.

A lovely pub with a whole range of different beers, Also wheelchair friendly & the staff are kind courteous & very friendly! We have been back a few times & will continue to do so!
