We went for a nice walk to see the dinosaurs in the park so we had hot chocolate with marshmallow and whipped cream, very yummy 😋 and pint of Posh draft beer 🍺 delicious and we walked along the lake on a beautiful sunny autumn day. The stuff were very helpful and friendly. Atmosphere quite good

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our coffees and cake, but I'm going to be brutally honest. This place is in desperate need of a bloody good deep clean. The plate that my plate was presented on could have been cleaned too. It's a nice space and great for families. The staff are friendly even when they are busy. The place just needs a polish.

Overcrowded, tiny and no space, but what really bothers me is how miserable and completely unfriendly the mostly female servers are and how disinterested they seem in giving the minimum amount of 'customer service'. EDIT: I have found this consistently even after returning.... I love Brown & Green usually. Just the servers need a little educating on how to appear at least a little bit more welcoming. Otherwise the food is nice and generally nice place.

The place looks quite nice and welcoming. We had just coffees and cakes. My espresso was very weak and tasted bad and it was very watery. Either it was made using the same coffee used for my wife's flat white or there was very little coffee in the machine. It was like dirty water. Went back to the bar to ask to have a new one but the people behind the desk were chatting to each other and did not acknowledge my presence. I just left cause I was not bothered having the discussion... My wife had a coffee and walnuts cake and had a stomachache. It was probably old and left outside for too long. It is a real shame as this place could be a great brunch/coffee venue but we will never come back.

Very slow service, expensive for what it is (eg croissant £3.60) and the coffee wasn’t what I ordered (cortado, but got something more like a latte), reminded me of places 10 years ago where the staff were a bit precious! Fortunately there is another alternative in the Park

Unbelievably rude staff. After waiting at the side of the counter for about ten minutes for a coffee, I went to see what had happened to it. There were two staff members dancing away. With the manager walking by without a care in the world. I asked the poor girl at the till if it was on its way, at which point one of the dancers got really stroppy and made me the coffee. She then made a show of taking it all around back to the other side of the counter in some kind of pathetic attempt at punishing me for daring to disturb her dance practice. The manager was standing by staring at me with a smirk on her face in solidarity with her friend leaving the girl at the counter squirming with embarrassment. Apart from the girl at the counter, the staff are simply ignorant and unpleasant people. I was the only costumer but clearly I was asking way too much of them when I asked for a coffee. Don’t bother with this place, go to the hut next to the stage in the park. They are always lovely there.

Regular stop if we are in the park. We really like the decaf latte with coconut milk + any flavors really. It can be super busy for take aways and I ended up waiting nearly 20 mins for 2 drinks here before. They have many staff members but super busy! If you wish to drink the at the table. Find a table first and at the till tell them your table number. We got our decafs quicker this way and could enjoy the vibe more.

Always nice to visit a cafe in the park, however, the food is very overpriced, being charged £10 for beans on toast! Opted for vegan cheese which was an extra £1 (nice surprised on the bill) really expect more for my money than half a tin of baked beans on two slices of bread.

I really enjoyed my breakfast. Scrabbled eggs on toasted sourdough bread with feta, chillies and coriander. Lots of options on the menu and a great selection of pastries as well. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because of how busy it is (clearly not the cafe’s fault). Because it’s in the park there are many children and babies so the noise level is high. If you have kids that’s a great place to go because there’s space for baggies etc. If you want a quiet breakfast you can go to Brown and Green in the triangle (Crystal Palace). I like both :D

I used to be a regular customer a few years ago. Even though it was expensive, the food quality and portion sizes were good. I went back there today, but the portions have shrunk considerably, while the prices remain high. I ordered the B&G breakfast, but the two rashers of bacon, beans, and the sausage were cold. The spinach and salad leaves were swimming in balsamic vinegar, and the single fried egg white was runny. I was very disappointed with this breakfast, especially considering the hefty price tag of £9.95. I definitely won't be going back there again.

No matter how busy this gets (particularly at weekend) service is always super friendly. Drinks are made nicely, good sandwich and soft drink selection. Dog friendly. I will say though there are a some very wild customers with their kids almost everytime I go making the most crazy mess with their kids chucking food around, I really feel for the staff having to clear this up, kids can be messy but tidy up after your family - it’s so rude and entitled to expect the staff to regularly deal with it - so much food chucked under table and other mess and parents just scoop kids up and waltz out. Dogs obviously love all the half eaten sandwiches and snacks on floor though.

Strange service this morning, staff seemed zoned out, I wasn't greeted by the staff, I had to walk round the staff standing by the menus to view, still no acknowledgement, then as I ordered another staff member pulled out a racist trump hat. Hot chocolate, from quite possibly the day before, was making 2 tables dirty and more tables were dirty on the back bench so I had to ask for this to be cleaned. Very awkward. The zombie waitress didn't take my empty plates for over half an hour - until I moved them to another table. The B&G breakfast has good ingredients but it was on a bed of balsamic doused rocket salad which gave everything even the toast an off taste due to the vinegar. I can only presume management are away this morning and some staff members are behaving unprofessionally. Such a shame as I am a regular and haven't had this level of non-service before. Must have been the staff party last night...

I definitely recommend this Costa for a fast service lovely coffee and the nice view. I visit once a day and am happy with the quality and especially the service from Kaiti and her team.

The second Penge eatery I have found to discriminate against registered, uniformed service dogs and refuses to let them enter the premises... thus preventing the disabled human entering their cafe too. Very disappointing conduct.
