Excellent breakfast & plenty of choice although we both had the full English & even satisfied my request for fried bread. The food was hot & freshly cooked, Fabulous. One of the things I miss in the current lockdown state is being able to go out for a meal occasionally. So I was delighted to see, while walking through West Vale on my daily exercise allowance, that Wellington's at the Brow Bridge Cafe were offering meals to eat at home. I ordered a selection from the menu and waited with anticipation for Friday evening to arrive. Home delivery was included (free because I live nearby), and everything was excellent - the food, the ordering, the delivery, and the price. It's great to be able to support local businesses during these difficult times, and I'll definitely be back for more.

Just what you need from a local cafe. Great cooked breakfasts and butties, good lunches and coffee. The food speaks for itself, but what makes Brow Bridge are the staff. Such a kind hearted bunch of ladies who never cease to make me smile. I could sit and listen to their banter all day, and there's always a smile and a kind word for every customer. Thanks ladies, you are amazing.

Food, service and atmosphere are always lovely here but I was blown away by the Meze night - partly because of how delicious everything was and also because of the effort made to provide gluten free alternatives to every dish. For every dish that wasn't naturally gf, they had made a gf version for me and for one dish that they couldn't make gf, I got an alternative. The staff are completely on the ball and I felt very looked after. I would recommend to anyone especially anyone who is coeliac. As you bring your own alcohol, it makes it a reasonable night too.

We visit regularly and the food, service, atmosphere and welcome is always first class. Be it with a group or as a couple. The BYO is a great idea and with a Tesco Express and Co-op 30 seconds away any emergency rations are right on the doorstep! The thing we love is they don’t “turn tables” so your table is yours for the night and encouraged to stay and relax after your meal and enjoy the atmosphere and the company you are with. The menu is changed monthly yet the signature dishes remain for the loyal following and with a fresh seasonal menu it’s always a treat at the beginning of the month to see what delights await us! So get your drinks chilled get your taxi booked and get down there for a fantastic night out!

We had halloumi and feta, mint and pea fritters to start and chicken kebab with rice, and chicken goujons and chips both with a nice, crunchy side salad. To follow, we shared a pecan pie. First time ive been here since it changed from public toilets to hairdressers to café.As you wait (and be prepared to wait) not just to order but to be acknowledged, you spot the sign saying " STRICTLY NO SUBSTITUTES ON ANY ITEMS ON BREAKFAST".... Which made me think how many people enjoy....mushrooms....or tinned tomatoes etc. (even if you push to one side, you'll still have the juices on your plate!).Ordered standard breakfast and manouvered around the offending fungi, before tackling the "nescafe" coffee. Great that they serve Nescafe instead of a cheaper brand, but the coffee is so weak, it's prob just as economical (and after reading the above warnings I didn't want to ask for anything!)Breakfast it self was nice, esp the blackpudding (@ 75p for 1 slice).Would I call back...possibly to retry, but not in a rush...

However, we recently discovered that Tony and Joanna who used to own La Tavas in Halifax have opened a Bistro here three nights a week, ably assisted by Benji and Jayne. I'd eaten here a few years ago and had a very large fry up which impressed me no end. However, I suspect the Brow Bridge has new owners as it looked different inside for a start. Clean and well kept so no issues there.A regular Full breakfast and a "Belt Breaker" were ordered which include toast/bread and coffee/tea. £12 for it all was ok. Nothing said at the counter about the cutlery being quite well hidden to the right of the serving counter and below waist height (and out of obvious sight) so I missed seeing it. I believe the third customer after me was told cutlery was there so I did wonder why that's a selective comment when the server was not asked the question.. The food did arrive quickly but no cutlery was brought and no napkins/serviettes. Again nothing said so this time I twigged it's get your own cutlery and the staff must think every new customer knows this just because they do.Food was ok and perfectly edible but the term Belt Breaker is certainly not the case and left me thinking I won't be able to skip lunch today. Maybe there are designs on making this a coffee shop with upscale sandwiches being the way forward. A shame when there are still people/gluttons with big appetites like me!

A lovely traditional pub steeped in local history that for the last few years has suffered from a revolving door of short lived landlords without a clue. What a refreshing change then to see that the Hinch' has finally got new landlords (Oct2024) who clearly know how to run a pub. Within a short period of time they have successfully managed to breathe new life into what had become a tired and soulless place to eat and drink. On the two occasions we've been since the Hinch reopened we've been super impressed with the food. In fact the cheese and onion pie might well be the best pie l've tasted in the Calder Valley (or ever!) and the flavourful and plentiful Sunday Roast offering was a cut above your usual pub ‘roast’ offering. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the food if you’re looking for somewhere to eat - especially when it comes without the hassle of parking in Hebden Bridge. On each occasion we’ve been, the Hinch was busy with drinkers and diners which is great to see. The trade off is you've only got the choice of Manchester owners JW Lees’ own branded mystery beer offerings. Forget the craft-ale revolution, or the fact that Vocation brewery is literally 5 mins away, the solitary guest beer offering here is San Miguel. I guess you can't have everything, but at least the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it!
