We have enjoyed eating here in the past but on this occasion it was a definite deux points. When you pay nearly £50 for two small plates of fish and chips and two pints of cider you expect it to be better than the fish and chips at Morrisons. Instead the fish was dry and clearly not restaurant quality while the chips were indifferent at best. If I’d paid £8 in a cafe I would have been disappointed but in a “bistro” pub that pretends to be a Belgian style restaurant it feels like yet another eating establishment that has lost its way.

Excellent tasty fresh food, perfectly seasoned. We had two mussels dishes, both very tasty. Served with crisp fries and warm crusty bread. Friendly service. Good drinks menu - we washed our meal down with chilled Leffe We'll be back!

We booked the bar area for a party. From start to finish, the staff at Brouge were amazing. The booking was easy, and they made us feel so welcome throughout the evening. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Had a terrific meal with friends tonight. Burgers and fish platter were excellent but the star of the show was Shanea, our waitress. What a happy and friendly young lady who was a joy.

Great location, amazing service and staff. Food was good and beer choice excellent. I had the fishcake starter and then the wild boar sausages. Little disappointed with the fishcakes, bit too bland for my liking, I prefer a much more fishy taste so that's probably my preference. Wild boar sausages were very good, nice big portion and very tasty. Would definitely go back. Staff were brilliant and attentive.

Normally the food comes first but tonight the stars of the show were the staff. There was a power cut and what could have been a difficult evening turned into a brilliant evening. They were so professional (food was good too!)

Ordered the Flemish beef stew with stoemp which was just bland. No flavour at all. Great selection of beers and staff were friendly and attentive. Would possibly go back to try something else but not the beef stew!

Our company enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebration evening here. The Christmas menu had an amazing choice and variety of food. All of our staff commented on how delicious the meals were and how warm, friendly and helpful all of the Brouge team were.

Delicious food and EXCELLENT, friendly staff! Visited tonight after seeing the Teddington lights up event. Enjoyed three courses as did my friend. The ribs were delicious with a very large portion and the caramel waffle with salted caramel ice cream was yummy. The two ladies serving were super friendly, chatty and really made you feel welcome. Ahhh ha ! The beef chilli nachos are back ! One of our favourite dishes. Had some lovely mussels and our son tucked in to his favourite dish … ribs ! Very nice .. especially with horgarten ! Proper beer !

Last Sunday I visited to this restaurant with my friend to have special dish my friend ordered nut roast which was so delicious and I ordered beef roast which was perfectly cooked I never had this dish in my life must visit this restaurant I really loved the dish , thanks for chefs and staff

Surprisingly poor food experience given the reviews. Mussels were genuinely the worst I have ever had. Flavourless, tough, lots of broken shell pieces. The roasts were ok (would have been a 3/5 for the roasts) but really just average. Perhaps there was a different cooking team than the reviews from earlier in the year suggest? The service team were quick, friendly and helpful.

Popped in here as we’d parked nearby for a concert at twickenham later in the day. Treated by a really friendly barman and the friendliness continued. Excellent food and service. Would happily come here again if in the area. Would highly recommend!

So I arrived in London after long drive down from scotland My daughter had met up with a few of her UNi friends- so whilst they were meeting up I decided I would have dinner out - I was going to go to Ma Cuisine excellent restaurant in Kew but it is closed Mondays - then the white horse Richmond also excellent with staff happy to work where they do but also closed - so after reading what sounded like “a great menu” I decided to stay whilst the girls drank in the garden/back of Gastro pub outside I was down …as I have been many times from Scotland …for a few Veterans Military appointments in and around the City … Whilst I’ve never had a problem with paying in White Horse or Ma Cuisine - or anywhere in London The Brouge was very insistent the were not prepared to accept my Scottish notes ! I should have said it was all I had on me maybe they would have accepted them then ! I asked why and they said their bank won’t accept them which is a load of twaddle All UK banks accept Scottish notes Also if you don’t want Scottish business with Scottish currency I suggest you put a note outside the pub and on the website just so we know to avoid the place - I had some English amongst my notes that the Manager had “noticed” when I was paying . ! … the crazy thing is -I was paying with notes so I could leave a small cash tip !! 😂 despite the food being poor ! I usually tip the waiting staff … Anyway not accepted so I decided to pay the exact amount by card - rather than leave any tip -after thinking about the treatment I was now receiving - and I thought about the standard of food. I wouldn’t have mentioned anything about the food had “they” not been so rude about accepting Scottish currency - bear in mind i was sat on my own - it was the manager who I believe is called Greg and another girl who was behind the bar - both were telling me they wouldn’t take it - one said she would ask the owner - I don’t think they got through but they came back and said across the room -their bank wouldn’t accept 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 £notes ! I was sat beside what must be entry to kitchen door I wanted a quiet corner ! So there was this problem - then there was the food I ordered an Angus aged steak coming from scotland I know Angus Steak I eat it often - I live in Perth and Kinross ! and that was NOT an Angus Steak - It was also the most fatty ( full of gristle) piece of steak i have ever had - I ordered extra side of peas and.I decided to try the stoemp as I had not had it in a while - it was really bland @ lacked any seasoning - when I asked for salt and pepper that worked the girl tried a few other twist salt and pepper ( but they didn’t work either so I got a “normal”salt cellar to use in the end -that worked fine - still very bland and more like a bland baby food -no sign of cream or butter -no carrot -no onions or herbs ( fresh parsley or dill) just a bowl of mashed white stuff lumped unceremoniously into a bowl …Such a shame as I’m sure the owners who I was told was a “Miri Amblade” are obviously proud of Belgique heritage dishes - I asked them to spell it out the owners. Name so I know I wrote it down as they said - but it’s become clear they the owners are in fact - “Miri and Blade” - Where’s the love and pride in the food you put out - Belgium is know for having a pride in its food … Not that it really matters but for those into fresh ingredients - the broccoli was obviously frozen and the petite pois were peas which were edible -but again just no seasoning … As your waiting staff know I left half the steak most apart from a tiny mouthful I tasted of the Stoemp and the all but a nibble of the broccoli Not enjoyable but even worse when your in eating solo - and your told “across the restaurant” that they won’t take your money It’s not valid !! - you lose any sort of respect I may have had for the staff - this Could have been handled so much better But I won’t be eating there again - and I’ll warn any veterans or Scottish colleagues they won’t take our money so stay away. ! Really poor - unloved food and service Turned away two diners at jut gone 9pm - So more custom lost instead of saying sure if you can place your order straight away I’ll get it to the kitchen - that was another £50-60 of business with drinks lost - I wasn’t offered a dessert so unsure if they do them - hospitality may have gone through a bad time - but you’re not helping yourselves or your business by excluding people on the basis of their currency ! Be inclusive - if you check with your bank thy will take all Scottish currency at UK banks If they don’t move banks ! But don’t exclude custom - or business by being so exclusive ! Inclusivity is key to any business..

I have been here loads of times and tried most mains on the menu. Some of the dishes are tasty but the portions are small for the price. Had the specials today which was scallops at £11.95 which consisted of two small scallops on a cauliflower puree and two small prawns, main was cod which was small with a lot of Broccoli and two small potatoes for £22. Don't get me wrong the food is nice but portions size is very small for top end prices. Service today was also very slow, only 4 other tables with customers.

We thought let's sit in the garden, but is started to get chilly. None of the heaters had gas and the team faffed around. The moules just smelt wrong, the other food was fine. No-one checked up so we just left them. The pub seems to be let's get the covers through to keep the price point you need to keep it special.

Lovely staff, disappointing food. We visited the area to meet family and we just so happened to be passing and thought it looked like a nice place to stop off for dinner and a drink. I was very disappointed with the vegetarian options so I decided on the broccoli and Stilton soup. When it arrived it was tasteless and cold. I couldn’t eat it. After only having 1 spoon full and telling the waitress that I didn’t like it. I was surprised to see it on the bill.

We dined here around New Year and it was fabulous, we enjoyed it so much we booked again a few weeks later and the food,ambiance and staff were equally as wonderful. It Really is a fabulous place to eat, great food and good value for money.

My wife and I ate in the Brogue on the evening of December 23rd. All six courses we had were first-class. We were served by a dark-haired girl (with a brace on her teeth. She was quick, efficient and cheerful. She added to the experience.

Went on a Saturday evening and it was a great meal with attentive servive. We had a range of starters and mains (steak \ muscles \ en-croute) and all were very tasty.

This has to be the best pub in the area by far.Superb selection of beers, the food is amazing. Had a very nice burger and chips in the patio garden. The meat patty seemed home made and was good quality. The chips were crisp and not at all oily.Service was friendly and efficient. A good choice of soft drinks as well as the huge range of beers.

Just want to say a great big thank you to Miri and all the team at The Brouge Gastropub for providing such a great venue for our daughters birthday celebration. We were in the conservatory and help was at hand to decorate the room which looked amazing! Everything went really smoothly. Our sit-down meal was served hot (where appropriate) at the planned time in an efficient, unobtrusive way. All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous towards myself and my guests. My family were really impressed with the venue, food and service. The room also came fully equipped with a projector screen and speakers for music in the evening.

Came here with friends for a afternoon meal.We used to live in the area and used to visit often the Brouge @the Old Goat as it was known in the past.We used to also frequent The Pigs ears in Richmond (part of the same establishment) which has since shut.We have had some nice meals in the past @ Brouge,but on this occasion a big let down was the mussels, which has left a lasting sour impression.The servers and the amazing selection of Belgium beers were excellent.The pate,figs in Parma and prawns special were all good and we ordered seconds.The Gentze Waterzooi was excellent, the ribs were fine but the mussels ruined the meal experience.I ordered mussels in Thai red curry sauce, as previously they used to do something similar ( I think Sri lankan) which was quite heavenly.For starters,I received the mussels cooked in the wrong sauce/broth.I promptly brought it to the attention of the server who acknowledged the fact, apologised and took it back to get it changed.Sometime later received one of the worst Thai chilli sauce mussels.It appeared the sauce was a watery broth lacking any red colour and tossed with some chilli/Thai seasoning unlike a red Thai curry sauce menu description.I finished the dish, as did not want to make a fuss about it and did not want to wait any longer for another change of meal, as my friends had nearly gone halfway through theirs before I received mine second time around.On the whole,it was a good lunch out with friends except for the Shambolic Mussels and if I ever comeback to this restaurant,I am not touching the mussels by many a miles!

We hadn't been to Brouge for a long time and had such a good time that we will be back more regularly. The food was good, especially the mussels, as you might expect. Service was good. They had taken the Covid restrictions seriously and it felt safe.

Both my partner and I enjoyed our meal and drinks. The service was good from start to finish. Unfortunately towards the end of our stay a family with two small children arrived. They allowed them to run amok. Jumping on a variety of seating, with little attempt by the parents to parent. When apologising to the staff they were told, ‘Don’t worry, it’s fine’. Due to this we chose not to stay for desert and more drinks, thus cutting our enjoyable visit short.

So impressed with Brouge. Rang yesterday and booked a table and showed up 5mins later. Great table, great service. We had several staff assist us but predominantly a brilliant guy called Pete who was super helpful and polite, very attentive but without crowding us. It’s not often that you talk to your dinner companion about service (apart from when discussing the service charge) but we commented on it several times because it was so impressive. Delicious food too! Will be returning soon.

One of my favourite local pubs - the food was just as delicious as usual. The place was packed even at 6pm on Friday both inside and in the garden. They seem to have squeezed in more tables and no-one was following the one way system and few people were wearing masks when standing up. It may just be a symptom of the current times and the first week of re-opening, but it did leave me feeling a bit reluctant to go back.

Lovely Saturday lunch at Brouge. The team here are great, the food was delicious (we had mussels a la creme & the risotto) & lovely atmosphere. They have set the garden up really well with a beautiful marquee with pretty lights and patio heaters so it was really cosy. We were looked after by Elle who was really friendly & the service was very quick & efficient. Definitely recommend coming here & we will be booking again.

Came to the Brouge first thing after lockdown restrictions lifted in London with two of my friends, incredible experience as always - fresh mussels always cooked to perfection, the service was brilliant with the waiter recommending some new beers we hadn't tried and had extensive F&B knowledge to help us order exactly what we wanted - will always come back here!

I came here last weekend with my girlfriend and had an overall lovely experience ! The food is just great ! We had mussels and ribs and I cannot fault it ! Our only issue was with one of the waitresses ! She wasn’t necessarily rude to us but was no way polite either ! But the way we heard her speak to another customer I was shocked ! The poor guy only asked for a drink and the response was extremely rude ! I don’t want this to reflect our experience as we had a great time and it was the first time being here but I just think there is no space for rude staff especially when the establishment has not long opened back after lockdown ! Anyway we will definitely be returning for more of your delicious food

Management and various other people came over to say hello and how happy they were to see us. Food was outstanding, Chips were beautifully crispy and Moules mmmmm I love Moules. We had the Sunday Lunch takeaway which you can pick up direct from the restaurant. We had the Roast Chicken and it was lovely. The Yorkshire pudding was nice and tasty. Vegetables perfectly cooked. Highly recommended if you want to treat yourself on a Sunday.

First time visitors to Brouge and can’t wait to return.Food was amazing, staff friendly and service excellent. Social distancing and space in the restaurant that was very busy for a Monday night was practiced throughout. We have passed this place hundreds of times over the years and wish we had discovered it earlier.

This place is a bit off the beaten track for me as I am not West London based so I booked it on the strength of reviews on Trip Advisor. We had a beautiful sunny afternoon for our late and relaxed Sunday lunch. I had my dog with me and true enough this place is dog friendly and there were dogs everywhere. We sat in the outside area which is large and spacious.The Covid guidelines have been implemented well without feeling over-the-top. The staff are friendly and bring a lightness of touch to the occasion.Between us we had three different main meals. I had the mussels - it would have been rude not to after all! I had the classic marinere version. The mussels were plump and juicy with no unopened ones lurking in the broth. Accompanied with crispy chips and bread the portion was generous and fun to eat. In my party there was fish and chips - seeing it on other tables was enough to persuade us to order, and there was also an excellent chicken burger. All very good. On to the desserts and we had a Belgian waffle to share which disappeared and I had a scoop of salted caramel ice cream and lemon sorbet. Again, really good.Listen, this place is on quite a busy junction on a main road, and the service and vibe is very relaxed so you forget about the traffic outside. In terms of my index of how much the Covid restrictions spoils the experience (0 = not at all , 5 = totally), I score this place a low 1.

We had another great evening at Brouge. My family recommended the steak - it was cooked to perfection. The portion sizes as usual were huge. The atmosphere was warm and cosy in the beer garden and the waitress was friendly and attentive. I would thoroughly recommend Brouge — thank you- please keep up the great work.

Brouge has been a number favourite place to come for the odd treat or special occasion. As such we decided to come here for our wedding anniversary. Firstly we booked online but my partner couldnt find the email notification. On the day we called to just double check and were put through to two different people who failed to listen to our request, declined to find our reservation until we pushed more and spelt out our name phonetically at which point they found it. Causing some stress. We had previously looked at the menu as i am Gluten free and Vegan to ensure there was something me and my husband could eat and maybe share. Unfortunately on arrival, very different to other restaurants we have been to, they had a reduced menu for the 'eat out to help out scheme'. on which there was only one main i could choose and no starters or anything else. This was very frustrating as we had already researched to avoid this type of situation on our special occasion. On speaking to the staff they didnt seem to care that much. they agreed to leave the cheese off some of the options but i couldn't order from their usual menu. I found the service and hospitality completely diminished from our usual experience and would be extremely hesitant to return in future.

We ordered online and were able to track our superfast delivery, fantastic service from Brouge Twickenham who called me to let me know an item was not available and went out of their way to ensure my preferred alternative arrived hot and fresh - thanks for your excellent service and proud to support local businesses during Lockdown.

We've been to Brouge a couple of times recently, and both were great experiences. The food has consistently been delicious, and the service excellent. I have driven past the place a few times and decided to give it a try.

Group of three meeting up for lunch. Seated in the conservatory area where it was very quiet, but looked to be more people in the bar area. Nice selection of dishes on the lunch menu, and all able to choose something easily. Food was tasty and arrived quickly. Staff attentive but not overbearing. No parking which is a little tricky, but very handy for locals who chose to travel by bus!

Attentive staff and a good selection of Belgian beer. All of the classic Belgian dishes are available i.e. mussels in various sauces and the fries (frittes) are to die for, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The a la carte menu is quite extensive; if you're not a fan of molluscs, I'm sure that you'll find something else that tickles your palette.The food portions are on the large side so wear your strechy pants.Weekdays are the quietest. Sunday lunchtime can be a bit manic; I suggest that you book in advance for their excellent Sunday roasts.

Great pub with lovely food. Came for a birthday meal, phoned prior to use Tastecard. No issues with the T card, whilst a Sunday they advised I could use on the A La Carte menu and not the Sunday Lunch menu, no issue with this. Service was polite, attentive and welcoming. Extra bread offered for starter, which was much appreciated. Food was great, portions a good size and all well presented. Didn’t try beers but I hear there are some great options. Place was busy but still seemed to be lots of room. Great value with Tastecard. Would be happy to pay full price here too though. Worth a visit.

Always enjoy the food at Brouge they do the most amazing burgers & ribs! The kids menu is brilliant too making it an enjoyable meal be it with friends or the family. A great local restaurant.

Enjoyed dinner here tonight. Food and service was excellent. Fish stew was stunning! We all left full, and happy, thank you.

We’ve been here a few times over the last 3 years including Christmas, birthday and a wake and it’s never disappointed. Good service, good choice, good quality.

This was our family Christmas Day dinner. A party of 11 priced at £70 per head drinks being extra. We had a 3 course meal. Staters chosen were pate, melon, prawns and soup. The pate was very average, the melon was just 2 pieces of melon with a couple of blackberries, the soup was delicious and the prawns average. Portions were on the small side. Mains chosen were turkey and pork, mushroom Wellington and beef. The beef was over cooked and tough, the turkey was average and the mushroom ‘Wellington’ was more like a pasty from a supermarket. Most people had a couple of potatoes which were more like boiled potatoes than roasted ones. Everyone had a very nice Yorkshire pudding, 3 sprouts and a few carrot sticks. For pudding cheesecake, apple crumble and Christmas pudding were ordered. Again portions were very small. The cheesecake looked like it came from Iceland’s, the Christmas pudding was tiny with just a smidgen of custard - blink and you’d miss it. The apple crumble was small and very average. No coffees were included in the price. The staff were lovely but overall there was very little festive atmosphere. I have had much better Sunday roasts at the local pub. The experience was disappointing and expensive for what it was. This was meant to be a massive treat for us as a family. Unfortunately it was far from that.
