Had the misfortune of having what they are calling "authentic souvlaki." I had the one with falafal, and it's without a doubt the worst falafel I have had in Oxford, and I have had A LOT of falafel in Oxford. It's overfried, had no salt or any other form of seasoning. The fries were fine; the pita was fine. But at 10.50 it's a tragedy. Please skip this. Go to Georgina's in the covered market if you are looking for greek food including a great wrap. Go to Rozana or Najars to know a good falafel. If you want a good Gyro/souvlaki then the ideal spot in Oxford is the Greek Takeaway place in Cowley. There's a Gyro spot in Gloucester market that also does a decent Gyro. Just skip this one. I can sense from the taste that it might have been decent like years ago. It's a greek tragedy now.

The taste is sweet, the chicken wrap is of all kinds, and their falafel is the best Oxford falafel, and everything is halal The service is the best service The atmosphere is beautiful, but sometimes it gets crowded. You're out of luck If you don't know how to ask in English, look for Muhammad Al-Kurdi 👍😅

Super cute cafe in Oxford in the middle of a market which was also very relaxed and beautiful. Extremely delicious English breakfast and extremely friendly service staff. Highly recommended for an authentic English breakfast or just a relaxing visit with friends or family. Always my pleasure.

Such a pity that the staff didnt deliver the 2 meals, we ordered.. we only received 1 of our orders.. not sure why? .. so I asked for the price of the second meal back on my credit card, and its now 10 days and I havent received it yet. Not a good show..

No WiFi. It is 2024 not 1984 but this cafe can't do WiFi I ordered Bangers and Mash with fried onions but was served reconstituted mashed potato with sausages covered with some unique gelatinous mass that they call gravey. All this was sprinkled with 5mm size fried onion flakes from a jar, no onions or frying necessary just sprinkle it on the food!

Ordered a Greek salad rap which came with very oily greasy chips and I ordered avocado sourdough platter where the sourdough bread you could break a window with it was that hard. The only thing we agreed was ok was the pot of tea. Was it worth £27.80 no very bad value for money. Terrible customer service when complained about food. Would we go back never

Food was nothing special and we found tons of eggshells in the food. The lady who brought the breakfast knocked my toast off the plate and she said she will bring another one. Waited about 15 min... Nothing. Took back the food and took 2 free soft drink as "compensation" when I said the food had eggshells and the toast never arrived.

Tasty food, though my friend's falafel and hummus mezze came with a very small amount of hummus. Proprietor was quite rude to me though about sitting at the table during the lunch rush - despite me pointing out that I was just waiting for my friend to order food for us.

Got asked to leave whilst having a coffee and nursing my newborn after 20 minutes because they “needed the table” Incredibly rude I appreciate it was the lunch rush, but there was also 5 unused tables outside the cafe

The Baked Bean and Jacket Potato was terrific. Food fresh, health and presentable. The staff were polite the cafe had a relaxed atmosphere.

My friend and I ate breakfast here and had a fabulous experience! You order at the counter and then wait at your table for the food. Portions were generous, the food was fresh, and the avocado was excellent! Very chill little weekday breakfast spot with comfortable seating in the Covered Market.

Our absolute favourite cafe in Oxford. The menu is varied and everything on it is delicious with very generous portions. Today we had bangers and mash, full English breakfast and porridge (with oat milk). We have previously had the chicken burger and souvlaki, which are also very very good. They also make the best chips. If you’re looking for somewhere with very good food and reasonable prices this is the place. We actually discovered this cafe on a Spanish travel show dedicated to trying the best food in different cities around the world, and it did not disappoint!!!

Greeted on entering & offered a table, menus & a explanation of how to order. Ordered 2 souvlakis, one with chicken & one halloumi. Drinks were brought over first and the food very promptly thereafter. Delicious! Great that there was a free water dispenser too. Friendly team, clearly well experienced in delivering great food & great service. Well done to all involved

I love this place.. I usually come here i have souvlaki most of the time... The staff very friendly especially the ginger hair guy he does the best costumer service.. And last but not least im a big fan of the classic atmosphere.

We had the Greek Chicken Souvlaki and it was amazing, the staff were very friendly and it the service was very fast, highly recommend.

Cafe serves delicious food and large servings. I was told the chicken soup was amazing and I can say the same of the beef burger. Will stop again if I'm in town.

The food was delicious and the owners are very warm and friendly. We accidentally left a backpack behind and it was waiting for us the next day. (They tried to catch up to us after we left, but with all the hustle and bustle of the crowd, we didn't hear them).

I only came to this store one morning. There was no one in the store. The three waiters were obviously chatting and didn't want to pay much attention to me.Coffee latte is ordinary, and even some light milk bubbles are not continuous. There are even carrots. I know that every restaurant has a different recipe, but it really doesn't make me think it's very delicious. When leaving the restaurant, the waiter obviously heard my goodbye, but they all ignored it.

Fun English style cafe that serves greek food. You'll find the usual English offerings (full breakfast, bangers and mash, quiche, jacket potato, sandwich) but it's worth looking at the greek options. The Chicken Souvlaki is excellent with succulent chicken. Drinks are well made. Getting a table can be a bit of a lottery but it's worth grabbing one if you get a chance. It's a good value

Well it's my first visit to this cafe and certainly will not be my last. A real gem. I had the sausage and mash with gravy and it was superb. Coffee was the best I have tasted for a long long time. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Well worth a visit if you're in Oxford.

Great for a quick lunch. I often get the spanakopita from here, and it's warm and flaky and delicious each time. Personally, I'm not a fan of how small the tables are, and how there's not much room to walk between some of the tables, but it's a minor thing. I should warn that you get a lot of local office employees here on weekdays (the fast service means that a meal here can fit in a short lunch break), so it can get crowded very quickly at peak times.

Food was delicious once we had gone back twice to change both baguettes due to them being the wrong filling we had ordered. Customer service is an area definitely to be worked on as we were served by a very patronising and abrupt young man. Food was delicious though!

Surly staff. It cost an extra £4 to add salad to my meal. Just look at the tea I was given. Go to Georgina’s next door. Much better.

Lovely cafe in the heart of Oxford's covered market with indoor and a few tables outside. Here you'll find a large selection of family favourites. Find a table, go to the counter to order and pay and the food is delivered to where you are seated. We had the soup of the day (tomato) which was superb; homemade, tasty and fresh and with pita bread. Faultless. Potentially the best soup we've ever eaten. A bold claim maybe but it was that good. [We returned the following day and it was chicken soup which was just as excellent.] For the mains we went with a burger (homemade patty) that was served on a wooden board with chips and salad. The bun was a little too big yet manageable. Help yourself to sauces inside. Great value, service and food. Will definitly return on future visits to Oxford.

They have halal options as well which was great for us! Their baguettes were deliciousc especially chicken tikka was great. The drinks cost more than a regular place but still good budget- nice taste place.

Had a massive craving for chicken souvlaki and clocked some other people eating it as we walked passed. We were served quickly and the food came fast despite it being lunchtime rush just before Christmas. The portion was really generous, the chips were hot and well seasoned with paprika and everything was juicy and flavoursome with crunchy fresh salad and a delicious tzatziki. There were also loads of extra sauces to choose from. The service was friendly and there was a nice atmosphere to the place. I’ll be coming back for the baklava.

A great lunch place in the Covered Market with great choices for everyone! The staff were friendly and positive and the entire place is decorated with cool wall paintings! Definitely stop by the next time you're looking for a great lunch place!

We dropped in the first morning we arrived in Oxford and had an excellent breakfast /brunch. My wife has a severe food allergy and the extremely friendly and helpful staff prepared a great meal. Haloumi and falafels were great, while my english breakfast was excellent. The highlight was the Baklava. We came back a couple of weeks later after visiting the north of the UK and had the same experience of great food and service (and even more baklava)

We visited as a group of 5 adults for lunch. The menu is great with lots of choice. All the lunches were delicious. Service excellent. Would definitely return and recommend.

Brothers has been an important part of the Covered Market for many years and a place I return to often - my go/to for breakfast in Oxford. More recently been bringing groups of friends and it has quickly become a fast favourite for a lot of them, too. There is a lot to choose from food wise and everything I’ve had has been excellent - a mix of English breakfast food and Greek/Mediterranean cuisine. They are extremely welcoming and friendly and go to great lengths to make customers happy. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Great coffee, decor and nice when quiet or busy. Highly recommend the souvlaki & spanakopita!

Brilliant food. The owner's young family sat round a table with her & were obviously enjoying their meals as much as I did. A friendly atmosphere and a place to hang out and chill without any rush.

We’ve been coming here since I started as a student at the university 4 years ago — Brothers is our go to place for food in Oxford (breakfast, brunch, lunch or even just to treat ourselves to a baklava!!). The staff are so lovely and welcoming, and the food is always yummy. Can’t recommend it enough — it’s where I always take my friends and family!

I went here recently, and got reminded why I always take my friends here for lunch! Incredible vibes, all types of Mediterranean food from Greek souvlaki to Italian ciabattas, all freshly made. Stopped here for lunch, we got there about 12.30, already very busy, but the owner found us a cosy table by the door, which caused us no problem We only wanted a sandwich, and finished up ordering 2 BLT baguettes, which were well filled and served with a nice salad garnish. We saw bangers and mash, spanakopita, falafel, and moussaka being bought to other tables, all looked hot and generous portions. We will return during our week in Oxford

A really scrummy lunch - I had the Greek kebab with chicken salad chips and tzatziki. My partner had the homemade burger. Really generous portions, lovely service - feels like being on holiday!

Our first time visiting this little place, very popular and I now know why. Fast service, hot and good quality food and a good variety to choose from.

We dropped in here one afternoon and were extremely pleased! Not only did they quickly accommodate our party of 7, but the wonderful proprietor came over personally to offer suggestions on menu items. We were served delicious food and drinks with a smile, and everybody was very satisfied with the delicious food! Salad, falafel, chips, wraps and bangers and mash all were on our table and everything was cooked to perfection.

We noticed this place seemed pretty popular so went in for breakfast at a quiet time (lunch was always busy). The yoghurt/fruit bowl was Ok as was the full Englisgh. Coffe and juice too, all good.

Review not about the food, but hygiene. Cleaner with a dirty mop and chlorine washing the floors in front of you and leaving a bucket smelling right next to your table! Seriously? Removed after I pointed on it. Table with peace of food from a previous customer and no one wiped stable before. In covid time? The menu is very old and sticky (all of them). We needed to have a quick lunch because we had tickets for a tour and found this place. Even though it was crowded they were fast and the food was good. They had a very diverse menu. We shared the falafel salad and the spinach and cheese spanakopita plate (we paid 15.90 pounds in total).

Don't go here. My food took ages to arrive and somehow was mostly luke warm when it did eventually get to me. Possibly some of this stems from the waitress trying to give my breakfast to someone else more than once. Frazzled fried egg, cold greasy sausages, cold overcooked bacon and warm-ish mushrooms.
