Cream Tea. The mother of all cream teas. And so reasonably priced! A ‘must do’ for Cream Tea fans if you’re in the area. Two massive scones each, a huge bowl of whipped cream, loads of jam, strawberries piled on top and proper tea or coffee.

We stayed for a couple of nights this week and loved our stay. Our hosts were attentive and informative. The accommodation was very covid safe and there was plenty of wipes and sanitiser throughout. We were able to check in early and John made us a welcome pot of coffee on arrival in the lounge. Our room was well eqioed with a fridge containing fresh milk and cold drinking water. There was a good supply of branded tea and coffee as well as biscuits. In the evening we walked to the red lion for dinner. Its a very short drive away, but not safe to walk at night. We took the longer route along country roads which were very quiet and took 25 minutes. Breakfast was superb and cannot be faulted. Fresh tea and coffee, a large range of fresh fruit and cereals and then a range of cooked options. The full English was amazing, but it was nice to have lighter options too. The poached eggs and salmon was perfect. I'd highly recommend Broome farm to anyone.

Stayed 2 nights at this lovely farmhouse set in unspoilt countryside. Hosts were very welcoming ...loved the cider. Our room was spacius with good refreshment tray (fresh milk), excellent bed and pillows, had the best night sleep I have had for ages . The house is surrounded by the apple and pear orchards and we enjoyed walking through them to the near by pub. We found it a perfect spot for visiting the beautiful and historic area.. Very peaceful and relaxing and definitly hope to return. Thank you so much , would say it in Russian !!

Warm welcome. Clean accom. Brilliant food. Very accommodating as regards individual diets. Sociable + chatty hosts. The only drawback was the two approach lanes, which were in poor maintenance, with deep + dangerous rutts. Drive carefully and if it has been raining, if you see puddles in the roadway, then remember you don't know how DEEP the rutts are under this water. We saw one visitor split a band new tyre by driving over a deep and dangerous rutt. A great shame, because when you arrive at Broome Farm the location is picturesque and so peaceful. Hillary and John are great hosts.

This is a really different restaurant with only 6 or so tables and no credit cards (takes cheques). All that said the food and atmosphere is just wonderful. We have been more than a dozen of occasions. For newbies it would be quite difficult to find. My parent went once and got lost so follow the signs carefully from the main road. Its worth the hassle though. The owner chef is very friendly and amenable service very attentive food great wonderful quality and not overpriced. You have to book well in advance as with so few tables and such a good reputation its difficult to get in! Enjoy!

I visited The Broome during a business trip and was delighted with my choice. The property is well off the beaten track, but not all difficult to find. Even with the current weather conditions, there was no difficulty. The house itself is a delight, set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. There is a very comfortable guest lounge, impressively antique-filled breakfast room and well appointed spacious bedrooms. The bed was extremely comfortable. That, plus owner John's gift of home made cider, ensured a very good night's sleep. In the end I slept through 2 alarms and a couple of phone calls! Breakfast was plentiful, well cooked and a terrific way to start the day. Hilary and John were charming and attentive hosts, who made me feel very welcome. I shall certainly return.

The broome restaurant is actually the dinning room of the broome bed and breakfast but because it is so good it deserves its own restaurant review The choice is slightly limited as this is a working cider farm But what they do they do very well All home cooked all freshly prepared Great food and wonderful sweets This really is a hidden gem

On our recent visit once again the food and service was excellent. A lovely, homely atmosphere. You are well advised to make reservations to guarentee a table. All food is freshly prepared and cooked on ordering and is very well presented. I would recommend to anyone to dine there.

We celebrated our ruby wedding with our family by having a delicious meal at Broome Farmhouse cooked to perfection and beautiful presented by John and Hilary Draper. We enjoyed the delicious cider and apple juice (for the driver's) on the terrace before moving to the dinning room. To find to our surprise and delight that the table had been set with a ruby coloured tablecloth and red roses! Our meal included a large selection of fresh vegetables from their vegetable garden to choose from - you can't get fresher than that! Cooked to perfection in various ways......I wish I'd asked for the recipes to the courgette rolls and the delicious crumbly cheese biscuits served with the cider and the 'old-fashioned lemon and cherry posset' that I had for dessert as I'd never heard of it and it was delicious. Broome Farmhouse is a 300 yr old cider farmhouse/guesthouse full of character owned by John and Hilary Draper and is set amongst orchards on an award winning working cider farm and it has lovely views of the unspoilt peaceful countryside and they went out of their way to make our meal special for us, including making delicious home made sweets after our meal. I wish we hadn't had top leave straight after our meal but had time to stay the night in the delightful guestrooms, but now we've found Broome Farmhouse I'm sure we shall return and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in comfort in quiet peaceful surroundings or even just for their delicious afternoon tea. Directions:- Peterstow is situated off the A49 close to Ross-on-Wye. If coming from the roundabout on the A49 at Ross take the second turning on the right. Broome Farmhouse is signposted bearing left at the small green you first come to and is located a few hundred yards along the road, past the orchards to the right and round the bend.

Oh yes. superb food by John and Hilary Draper. Local, seasonal and yummy. As much attention paid to the vegetables as the the meat dishes - and generous portions. Don't worry about the alpacas outside - they do not appear on the menu

We were staying on the Malvern View Country and Leisure Park for a weekend stay which we could not fault. However, we dined at The Old Barnhouse on the Saturday evening and unfortunately the food was terrible. We waited for nearly an hour and when the food arrived it was half cold. My mother and father had scampi and chips, no peas and they were out of tartare sauce! My sister and I had the New Yorker chicken which consisted of a huge portion of coleslaw that wasn’t very nice and the chicken was small and if poor quality. My daughter had a kids pizza, chips and beans which was just about acceptable. The five meals and a round of drinks came to over £80 which was appalling for the quality of the food. Avoid The Old Barnhouse for food! Pleasant enough for a drink.

Rude, extremely disappointing, shocking and disrespectful staff! We arrived after making a booking the day before. I booked 2 Adults, 1 child aged 2. The booking itself was pleasant. We got slightly lost, rang in and again very pleasant. Arrived 7 minutes late and walked into a very ‘local’ pub feel. All eyes on us. We were told by the bar person that they were glad we found them. A woman appeared and looked at my Grandson and commented ‘we don’t have highchairs’ I commented that I’d booked ahead with a child on the booking? She said she would go down in the cellar and dust something suitable to bring up then asked me if I had a chair in my car???!!!! We approached the bar and I said I was confused as I’d booked a child ahead of coming. I was ignored, I said once again and the younger woman behind the bar looked at me and in a slightly raised voice utttered ‘well, yes she’s gone to get you something hasn’t she!!’ Based on this experience I told my Friend we were leaving as being treated like this was way beyond acceptable. I wasn’t happy and I let it be known! My Friend and I were left shocked and felt we had been treated appallingly by 2 extremely rude women. Whilst we were putting my Grandson in the car the older women came out and further patronised us with her offering of a dusted off cellar chair and we told her that her colleague was vile and it had gone beyond the chair. She walked off. Having read through the reviews I can see hands have changed and so this may be why I didn’t receive the reputation I had heard of. I have the feeling they felt they were above us! I’m not easily impressed so their Morgan cars and gold large Baroque chairs only further deepens my suspicions that they think they’re better 🤣🤣
