We ordered Smokin Jack burger meal and the home run burger meal. Both really lovely. Then pudding we ordered strawberry ice cream and chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream. The staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. It's our go to place for a meal out.

Great food, with amazing deals for families. Calli took our order and helped with ordering (too many deals). Very professional and friendly with a smile on her face. Thank you Calli.

I went today for Sunday Lunch, was quite surprised at the price as there are much cheaper offers available around the same area, I wouldn't have minded if it had been good, I was very disappointed, the carrots were solid, as were the peas, you get the smallest ramekin of gravy which wasn't enough to even cover the 2 small slices of meat you get, only a few roast potatoes, and they had run out of yorkshire puddings, the big plate looked empty, I would have complained had any member of staff come near us to ask if everything was OK, staff all walking about with their head down, sorry but you have to much competition surrounding you that you can't afford to be that bad.

We regularly use the Brookhouse for a bite to eat and meet up with friends we call it our Tuesday club Steph and her team are great, food is good and we have friendly banter with the girls behind the bar Excellent value for a night out

Visited Brooke house for a bit to eat with my friends after work had 2 lovely waitresses, don’t know their names. Food always nice and the prices makes it better, and ordering on your phone makes it simple.

Visited Sunday 28th. Food was cold. Looked awful on the plate. Lots missing too! Children’s meals were last to come out and looked terrible. The attitude of staff was well below what’s expected. I’d save a few £ and grab a takeaway instead.

We went here for a family birthday meal, there were 15 of us. We all ordered separately on their app so 3 orders went in but each order came out slowly with meals missing from each order which we had to chase constantly. 2 members of our party were waiting for over 45 minutes only for the burger meal to come out with the bacon missing and the burger burnt. All the meals were cold and tasteles and the chicken wasn't cooked properly.

Awful breakfast. Cold bacon and beans, egg over cooked in dirty oil. Disappointed as visited their other branch in Swindon previous day for food and that was great. You would expect the same level of service and quality across the brand. Staff were polite and wearing uniform.

Went for Sunday lunch and it was worse iv ever had. Was all luke warm. Potatoes and veg was frozen ones. But the veg was rock hard. Beef had lot hard fat on.

This is an amazing place to eat. The food is brilliant and great prices. The venue is spacious and warm. Great come rain or shine as the beer garden is great and full of wildlife and lots of interesting information on the walls from famous swindon locations and people. We had a surprise party for my mother in law, staff could not have been more helpful with letting me put up decorations and cornering off a area to have the meal away from everyone so the young kids can play around with the balloons. Very friendly and chatty and smiling, bought the cake out that we took with us, and cleaned up the confetti from the poppers. When asked can we give a tip, the young girl unfortunately didn’t get her name but served the Clarke reserved party, turned around and said she would be more happier with a review on here than accepting a tip. Never known a waitress to be so humble and say that she’s happy to clean up knowing that we have had a lovely time and our smiles are enough! Every single time we have tried to eat at this place, they either forget about us, we have to order through the app (baring in mind there is no signal here) or there is nothing available. We get it, there’s a pandemic and the staff who do care are brilliant however this is the final straw after today. They didn’t do what my other half wanted which is fine, so he asked for an alternative chicken with a side of the sauce (all the sauces are sides) the guy at the bar said no, so my other half politely asked again and stated it all comes with a side of sauce granted what he wanted didn’t come with the particular chicken. The guy rudely replied back ‘it’s not my problem’ - absolutely disgusting customer service. Every time we try again at this place, we have to hope that there’s no issues in the way but this is the last straw. Greene King, please sort out your staff and get them on a customer service training session ASAP.

We popped in today as we had some tesco vouchers and fancied a treat. I am big on customer service especially working in that department for 16 years. We had a lovely meal but one member of the team made a lasting impression, Steph was so friendly and welcoming and was great with the children my daughter loved chatting to her about her elsa dress. I also I noticed her checking in on the team when passing making sure everyone was OK. Really makes a difference having a happy team happy to help you. We will be back. Hope you get to read this : )

Came here for a lunch with a pre booked table . Really warm welcome and parties were spread out across the restaurant so felt really safe . I went for dinner one evening with my family. My son has allergies to dairy and soya. When I mentioned this to Loretta, she was fantastic. She took all the time to go through the allergen menu and even went and spoke to the chefs personally to advise on the allergy and explain how Joseph wanted his dinner. We absolutely loved our time there and Joseph can't wait to go back. Really can't thank Loretta enough.

Staff went above and beyond on our recent visit as a treat after school. All staff were welcoming and nothing was too much hassle. When I asked about allergens they was thorough and this made us feel so at ease. Food was wonderful ! Our friends came to visit so as this is 5 minutes down the road we thought it was the perfect place to go. When arriving we did the track and trace and was nearly 10 minutes before we were noticed. We were eventually seated right by the kitchen by the toilets. We used the app and ordered drinks and food and they came out relatively quickly which is brilliant. We had the starters which where lovely and then the mains came. Two of the meals that came with chips had literally 5 chips on the plate. There was a kids pasta bowl ordered and it was still swimming in water with a very small watery tomato sauce just dumped on top but the worst was the the chicken breasts that looked like jelly and tasted awful and clearly where very cheap. They where un edible The other meals we ate as we where hungry but the chicken was not touched as it was awful and un edible. I mentioned it to the young waitress and her exact words to us were and I quote 'we get alot of complaints about this but it is just because it is steamed, I will take this back to the kitchen but I know what they will say and it will be because it is steamed and not cooked to your preference'. Her tone was so RUDE!! I then replied with if you get alot of complaints that should tell you something but also the chicken is not edible!! it looks like jelly for goodness sake. She then walked away and came back and said just as I said the only thing I can do is get my manger. I said please do!!She came back and said her manager would give a refund and took our plates. As we paid on the app we just assumed it would be refunded that way and that would be that. To our surprise the manager came over and asked how we paid and that she would go and get a recipt to show the refund. She went and came back with the receipt that also had her name and contact details on it and she apologised for the food. I want to say thank you to this lady as you were most kind and gave brilliant customer service and owned the mistake. Unlike the other waitress who tone was just rude and we were an inconvenience to her. Also if your staff are admitting to customers that there are lots of complaints about a certain dish then it should be looked into.We thank the manager for being kind but we would not be rushing back here.

Went to brookhouse Friday and again today, both times meals come out hot and great portions, steak cooked how we asked for it, the staff are amazing with our littleone one who we foster, all staff are working hard well adhearing to the covid regulations, im so glad this restaurant is back open, well down Matty who was on the door, Kyle who was on the bar and steph for being super good with littleone plus all the other staff always so polite and helpful

Now it seems you have to order via their app only. They flatly refuse to take an order any other way. The only problem is they are in a WiFi black spot. spent 15 mins trying to order for 5. They won't let you on their WiFi to speed it up, evenhough the restaurant was all but empty. Walked out and went down the road to the beefeater by junction 16 and had a fantastic meal, with waitress service, in great surroundings. And it was cheaper!!

We come back again tonight and received another excellent service from Martin, Mara the team. Food was well cooked. Definitely will come back again.

First time we’ve ever eaten here and will not return, we was sat by the kitchen and had just recieved our meal, the manager goes running into the kitchen, we hear arguing and shouting just outside of the kitchen and the manager then shouts “give me a knife I need a knife” she ran out of the kitchen and ran to the bar, 3/4 members of staff went rushing into the kitchen and then a few moments later the manager came running back and ran into the kitchen again. As you can imagine this put us massively on edge, we was ready to get up to run out because at this point we thought it was a random member of the public running into the kitchen, little did we know it was the manager! We then overheard the manager talking to the girl on the front door (staff) telling her to be careful and keep an eye out. We immediately asked for the bill, none of us finished our dinner I still had over half of my meal left, we told two members of staff that we really wasn’t happy and we was really distressed, they both re-assured us that we are safe but this didn’t put our mind at ease as not only have we left hungry but we’ve also left stressed after going out for a what was supposed to be relaxing meal to de-stress. The couple behind us also left and said “I just wanna get out of here”

We have been regular customers at this pub for years now, and it's always disheartening when we see negative reviews and not enough of the good reviews being posted. We cake in for a cheap dinner on Wednesday (we love a cheeky curry) and as usual I have no complaints. We were greeted by a smiling young lady on the door who was very helpful, and given a lovely warm booth table to relax in, and were seen too within a couple of minutes by our waitress. The pub was relatively busy, but it was good to see the young lady and her supervisor working closely together to ensure top notch service. We've been in multiple times with these working, and it's lovely too see such good chemistry between the pair, what ever they do, they keep each other smiling and in turn they provide brilliant customer service. Food was brilliant and great value for money, and it was to nice to be recommended a range of beverages by the waiting team for our curry deal. Keep it up team brookhouse!

Firstly with all the covid guidelines in place and actually followed by all the public, brookhouse is a very safe pub to be in.The family enjoyed a lovely meal with great food and service. I must give a special mention to the staff going the extra mile in looking after us,being polite and prompt service.Definitely would recommend coming here and I will definitely be returning.

The staff go above and beyond to solve anything that may not of been right. Kyle is especially very good at what he does, always friendly wether serving or greeting you on arrival. I have lived in Swindon for 21 years and whenever me and the wife and family don’t fancy cooking and want to go out the first place with think of is the hungry horse as you know you will get good food for good prices and I cannot fault it at all. Staff are friendly and doing amazingly well despite having to be constantly wearing masks and with new restrictions. Drinks and food brought out promptly and with a smile (under masks of course haha). Even though we don’t live as close to West Swindon anymore and close to this particular hungry horse it is still our first choice to go out to eat! Also my grandson has a Dairy & Soya allergy and they cater well for him and they have an allergy tablet which helps with wait contains what in their menu, very helpful :)

Often visit here as a family, personally always have good food and service. All the staff but 1 come across happy, polite and helpful however the female floor manager who I believe is called Steph often comes across rude, stressed and shouts at customers and staff. This does sadly let whole place down slightly as we as customer shouldn’t experience this. The two members stick out with customer service are Kyle and Shaun.

Went to brookhouse and can honestly say their doing amazing under the circumstances, masks being worn, still happy staff throughout and food always amazingly hot and presented well, I can honestly say we’ve been to a lot of hungry horses and this is one of the best run ones especially within Swindon, honestly the staff deserve more praise, more positive reviews and those that leave negative are generally the ones who hate rules and are not coping with this Covid.

Food was hot and came quickly. The lovely waitress came back to us within a few minutes to check that the food was okay. All staff maintained social distancing and wore masks.

Friendly staff (Steph and Zoe if I remember correctly particularly), good check backs, good value food and implementing COVID measures well.

We’ve occasionally visited over the last few years and generally feel the food and service is of a good standard.We visited a couple of weeks ago during Covid restrictions and were impressed how professional the staff were working under trying conditions. Food and standards are still maintained so I would recommend for a good cheap mea.

I went here a few times during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Each time I was greeted by lovely staff, the service was quick and the food was incredible. One of my favourite restaurants!

Me and my partner visited here after originally planning to go to The Village, but unfortunately was closed. We were sat in the cold and damp conservatory at the back. Food and drinks order taken quickly and arrived in good time but this is where the good bit ends. My partners fish and chips were undercooked, and the fish still raw in the middle. I had burger and chips, burger was just ok, but chips undercooked and cold, onion rings soggy. No one came and checked back on us. So when the reply comes below that our plates were virtually empty, that’s because we were hungry - you will also see the soggy onion rings and raw fish left on the plates. Had someone bothered to do their job properly and come back and checked on us, we would have sent the food back. No, I’m not walking around the pub with my food trying to find a member of staff.Had planned to have more drinks and maybe a pudding, but again no one came back. Ah well, your loss!Manager didn’t even say thank you or bye on our way out, so I said as we walked past that staff need to be trained better. Blank look on his face and no reply. Not really management material!

Greeted at the door by a miserable bloke. He immediately asked me to wear a mask even though he wasn't wearing a mask or visor himself. My wife had hers in her bag, I had to go to the car for mine. When I got back to the entrance he was telling her that she had to download the track and trace app and scan their bar code. I said 'are you saying that we can't eat here if we don't have the app?'. He then said that he could take our contact details but 'It takes ages'. It took him all of 30 seconds to type my name and phone number into a tablet. He then showed us to a table 12 feet away and said he'd get someone to take our order. After sitting down we realised that the door was being left open and my wife soon got cold. I said as soon as someone comes to take our order I'll ask to move tables. 15 minutes later we were still sat in the cold, no-one had come to take our order despite miserable bloke walking past us 4 times. We walked out and went to Woodlands Edge, 5 minutes away, where we received a warm welcome, choice of tables, and friendly prompt service.

Myself and a friend arrived and sat outside, Steph had made us aware of the bottle 2 4 £5 with hooch (guilty pleasure) amongst a variety of which Steph was very knowledgable. Throughout our stay Steph stood out as the model employee with enthusiasm, ensured the covid measures were met throughout and unbelievable customer service.. absolutely brilliant work, phenomenal employee and a credit to GreeneKing as a business. Considering the current circumstances the staff were great and the food came within 15-20 mins. We arrived around 2pm and they were able to offer us a seat outside. Unfortunately there isn’t any designated spots for smoker you can still smoke in the the garden area where other people are eating so there is a waft. My only suggestion would be to create a designated smoking area out the way. Food was good and it was cheaper due to the eat out to help out scheme. My first meal out and not daunting and as I said staff were friendly and helpful.

This was our second meal out with all the new measures and it was really not very good. Food fine (usual hungry horse grub) but service was terrible.The host was very robotic as he read out all the stuff he needed to, showed us to a table (which wasn't anymore distanced than Pre covid to the one next to it - which had people on). Our table was sticky (again, usual in hungry horse but should not be now). When the table next to us was wiped down it was just a swipe with the cloth, leaving some of the wet glass rings still there.We were actually sat next to the door and we saw the host licking his fingers to separate the paper menu and sighing when customers arrived. Also, the bar must be like the Tardis as though they were apparently fully booked, non bookers were advised if they could find a table in the bar they could use it. Many went in.You could order on the app or queue at the bar. We used the bar. Drinks order was wrong, food menu had many missing items and sides ordered were missing so we had to chase for them. Mixed grill was served without an egg and actually my husband didn't notice until they brought it out 5-10 mins after he had started eating.This is a shame as it's totally opposite to my review in 2018. I understand staff are learning new processes at the moment but most of what I mentioned was very basic customer service. I doubt we will return as Swindon has many good eating places to choose from.

I was the only person in for Lunch On entry I was instructed on all Covid procedures which I adhered too BUT I ordered at the Order Point received my coke in a class full of Ice after ordering “cola please no ice” waited and waited I returned to order point to be told by he Blond lady “I put it through but don’t know” I cancelled my order and left ??

This is a Green King ‘Hungry Horse’ branded pub, so we went in with a clear idea of what would be on offer. Anyone who’s been to one will know it’s a no frills chain suitable for all. The venue staff were exceptional, friendly and very welcoming whilst on hand to offer guidance throughout the venue, which during Covid-19’s new normal is most welcome. The venue was clean and totally complaint with current regulations. Food was fresh and fast. All in all, for what is a high volume low cost place the standards were great. Knocking the spots off Wetherspoons. Keep up the good work with an amazing team, it really is all about the staff who clearly have pride in there work.

Had a google and chose this place for Sunday lunch. Main reason I chose it was the garden area. Really spaced out perfect for social distancing. Food was quick and simple. TIP. Download the green king app. Service was fact and food was piping hot. Nice cheap meal. I will return.

Just been for our first meal since lockdown and can 100% say it was the most pleasant experience we’ve had so far, the atmosphere was relaxed, the staff are all on the ball and explaining everything professionally, George was on the door and greeted us with a big smile and well mannered, Kyle on the bar explained that food and drinks would be placed on the table near us for us to retrieve so to keep distance between us and the staff, again smiling and well mannered, the young girl and 2 male waiting staff were polite and kept themselves busy with serving and cleaning down afterwards once customers had vacated, Tom the manager was polite and chatty, honestly all in all the sort of atmosphere we enjoy, thanks to the chefs for our lovely hot meal

Good quality and value for money provided quickly and efficiently - would be good for people on a time schedule

Popped into the Brookhouse for some lunch. The food was spot on and great value. The pubs bar, restaurant and toilets were very clean. Service from the bar staff and floor staff was very good and fast. Highly recommended.

On arrival there was someone waiting in front of me to place their food order and someone waiting after me. The only member of staff behind the counter was more concerned about changing the TV channel for a good 2 minutes than seeing to the customers, one of the other customer and I kept looking at each other in disbelief. After we were finally seated we placed our order for Sunday roasts only to be told there were none left, on a Sunday at 2pm, oh, and don’t pick anything else from the menu that needs batter, that’s run out too. Our party of 9 got up and left. Most disappointing. The first time we booked here (few weeks back) we were called and told the place was closed due to a gas leak and could be booked in at the Spotted Cow instead which we went too. The service was quick and the food was lovely. We won’t be returning to the Brookhouse but we will to the Spotted Cow.

The food here is like a freezer food from Iceland. The food is tasteless, the service is good. Not worth this petrol.

Good for a quick easy meal. Food average but prices aren’t too expensive. Good selection for both adult and kids.

Took the family for food during half term and was pleasantly surprised.We had a family chicken sharer platter that was tremendous value and enough for 4 of us.The staff were friendly, especially the duty manager (I think his name is Matt).We'll definitely be visiting again soon.
