Absolutely spot on , best battered chips anywhere, always friendly service. When I come to the area I always get my lunch from here

Served very quickly in a cardboard boat. Perfectly sound, two good sized chicken ie a thigh and a drum, enough chips. Tables had salt vinegar and no one else eating in. Main business custom was "Deliveroo couriers". Plaice to be is opposite Bromley South station, and between the two main bus stops towards Bromley North and beyond. Open on Sunday.. Toilet upstairs out back and table swabbed down quite promptly after finish. Felt poor reviews from 2019 were undeserved, hence review. I.e. it was fine when I went so what on earth is the problem!!

Usé este lugar mucho el año pasado y pensé que estaba bien. Pedí bacalao y patatas fritas grandes para llevar. En primer lugar, el bacalao estaba bueno. Estaba desollado y una buena porción. Batido un poco suave, sin embargo. Sin embargo, en la porción de chips, tuve 3 de tamaño normal. El resto fueron las heces, chips en nombre y naturaleza. Demasiado pequeño para que cualquiera de los sabores de papa sobreviva al proceso de fritura. Lo peor de todo es que había un tipo que cogía efectivo de los clientes y luego manipulaba los alimentos directamente, ponía las pitas (o lo que fueran) y las giraba con los dedos. Luego de vuelta a tomar efectivo. Yuk

It had a varied Menu quick and welcoming staff and good prices. food was very good and lots of it and the staff making sure you were happy was great.

Late night snack. Doner meat was awful. Seriously regretting it the next morning. Seriously ill. Will not be going back there. Food Standards Agency need to visit here again!!!

Me and friend went for chips 🍟 as a lazy day off staff were not welcoming too start my chips were cold and looked old ask for them too be changed they fused too cook fresh ones and no refund😫 Never go there should be closed down health hygiene poor .

This fish and chip shop is now called "The Plaice To Be." We wanted take always and the guy started to serve on plates for eating in! The manager took over and served out food in take away boxes. The chips were small grey looking fatty offerings. Eugh... The cod was pretty good though. We threw away half of the chops. I hardly ever throw away food, unless it's out of date and going off. We were disappointed.

This used to have the best battered cod and piping hot fat chips, served on a plate. In 2017 it got a new name and Turkish and foreign guys. Now it serves flaccid rubbery battered cod and decent chips in a box, at a takeaway price. The early days saw them add a bit of salad and serve a plate, but no longer. But, there is no extra charge for eating in. Toilet was occupied for a while. It became clear after about 5 minutes - and the staff member returned. Having had a fag in there, and thankfully opening the window! But the restaurant has an internal shutter and it becomes takeaway only sometime in mid to late evening. It also opens on Sunday, but was shut at midday. Still a great location opposite Bromley South Station and by a bus stop serving loads of routes, and good when you are hungry. Obviously they also do kebabs and fried chicken (again, typical fried chicken).

I visited this fish and chip shop with 2 friends at approx. 9pm on a Saturday night. I was taken aback that somewhere can charge £3.50 for a portion of chips. One of my friends politely asked if we could sit on one of the tables in the restaurant area at the back. The manager said yes and we took a table. I had got up to get some ketchup on the table next to me when the Manager abruptly told me I could not use the toielts as they were closed. I explained it was the ketchup I was after, to which he lamented that I could not use it as it was for customers using the restaurant only. Confused, I finished my chips (without ketchup) and we left 10 mins later. As we left the shop, the manager followed us and got extremely confrontational on the street, accusing us of leaving our mess and taking our time to finish our chips!! His attitude was as though we were drunken hooligans, when we hadn't been drinking and were of no nuisance whatsoever. It was disgusting and totally unnecessary behaviour. The Manager also had the audacity to refuse us service in the future - like we would have been keen to go back after that! A very, very bad service, overpriced and mediocre at best chips. stay away from this horribly managed place!!!!

Quick service and very friendly people. I just wanted a piece of chicken fried as I didn't bring lunch in and decided to try here out as it wasn't far from work. The chicken was very greasy but as I came out after 2pm in the afternoon I believed the chicken wasn't as fresh. Despite that I know this place does some awesome chips as my colleagues always treat themselves to this every Friday. Will have to try this myself as they always smell so good. Keep smiling guys your service is good.

Sono stato qua a pranzo dopo più di un anno dall’ultima volta che c’ero stato. Il pesce è buono ed il fritto asciutto. Avrei dato un pallino in più ma nel locale si gelava di freddo.

I used to go here weekly but the owner must be getting greedy as the price increases regularly and the quality drops. £2 for a potion of chips! Used the be just over a pound earlier in the year. Portion sizes have shrunk and quality is not what it used to be.... shame!

This is where I first had my first English 'fish and chips' experience, and I have yet to try another joint who makes better battered cod (at nearly the same affordable price). I just love it!
