Got regular chips for £3. Was amazed at the very small portion for that money! Tasted nice but very expensive for what I got

I was over for a funeral & popped into this fish shop later i the evening . Oh my the fish & chips were amazing , the service was very fast & the staff were very friendly , When I'm back in the UK again We will visit here again

Only ordered a regular chips as a takeaway, now £3, over priced, how much dose a potato cost? Chips were hard lots of small bits, tasted like they had been lying in the hot box for over an hour. My last visit to the place.

The food was fantastic What let this down was the service, phoned in to order food, was told 10 minutes, 20 minutes later still waiting, too busy sorting out just eat deliveries, when I mentioned to them that I'd been waiting a long time, they bagged and gave me straight away.....was all sitting there in the hot cupboards. Girls had long hair flowing and kept fiddling with it, long false nails, which is a no no when serving food

Best fish&chips whit out any question.

Every week for a long time, every Friday, we have ordered two large cod, and a portion of chips. It's always been ok. Tonight, only one cod arrived, so I rang. First I was told she definitely put two in. I pointed out there was one box, with the bag of chips on top. She continued to argue she put two fish in. Eventually I was told they could only offer a refund. I said we wanted the fish, and she said she would speak to the manager. Two minutes of background noise, then I heard her pick up the phone and hang up. I rang back and was told I had to contact Just Eats (they didn't screw up), and ask for a refund. She said she didn't hang up. I've now ordered a replacement fish from somewhere else. Will never order fro. Such an unhelpful place again

Lovely chips always freshly made. The kids portions are very generous and the cod bites are crispy.

The fish tastes fresh and delicious. The batter is crisp and light. Chips nice not greasy. This was a take away order.

Chips were not cooked but the ones that were we lovely .. I paid &1.90 unbelievable for curry sauce nd you get more at McDonald’s unacceptable specially in the living crisis we are in.

The worst cod and chips I have ever had, if that was actually cod then I am George Clooney, it was vile and tasteless, the chips were dryer than a nuns nunni, I would have been better off eating the box, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, had to give 1 star as the staff were friendly

Owners changed again and food was terrible me and my brother ordered today and we have been conned. The chips were small and all broken and the cod was really small and funny tasting. Its aa shame, my family was good friends with the old owners and i dont think we will be coming back to that chippy severely dissatisfied

I am normally pleased with the quality of the food, but today the chips were soggy, with an odd taste. The sausage was also lame and not properly cooked. This is no way of treating a customer of many years. Disappointed

Update August 2020. Seems to be under new management and just tried them. I have to say the fish we had was superb - much thinner, crisper batter than before and the fish was cooked perfectly. Hope this is a standard the new owners can maintain. Original review: Having tried a lot of the local chippies since moving to Bickley, this is the best so far. Fish cooked to order, lovely chips and batter that's crispy and light, make this a winner. A little expensive but well worth it for the standard of food. Really sweet guys that run it too.

Under new management and in time will modernise and upgrade decor and good food give it a go .

I asked for fresh/hot chips.....got luke warm poor quality chips: dishonest

I’m really not sure where the good reviews are coming from? It really makes you question people’s standards! Soggy batter (extremely soggy!) horrible pale chips and everything tasted of oil, just horrible. If you want a decent fish and chips including delivery the Village Fish And Chips in Petts Wood is by far the best, we have always had amazing food from there and only chose this place as our favourite was closed. We couldn’t finish our food, my mouth has been left with a horrible old fat and grease taste. Not good at all.

Absolutely the best Fish and Chips , wonderful friendly staff , always a smile! Now under new ownership not quite sure they are learning the ropes and hopefully will be ok but the guy running seems to be shouting all the time , not nice when you are eating in !

Good quality chips and veggie burger. I'm told the fish is good too. Always lovely service and generous helpings. Been using this place for years now, consistently good.

I cannot express how good this fish and chips restaurant is. Think, ‘old school chippie’ but with no grease, fantastic fish, superb batter and great chips. You’ve probably worked out by now, I rate this place highly! Family run and one to certainly support. I think this is by far, the best Fish and Chips restaurant in Orpington!

Just the best fish and chips and what I like most is that I can order the actual cut of fish, cod, that I want and regularly order "Middle Cod" thats not medium cod but "Middle Cod" the bit between the head and the tail that usually goes to top restaurants.

Absolutely appalling..... waited 10 mins for cod and chips to find out when I got home that the chips were cold and undercooked and the cod was the size of a battered sausage.... absolutely fuming....

The best fish and chips I have ever had, they use a special frying oil so that the fish and chips when presented are virtually oil free and very crispy. I eat in on a weekly basis . Very friendly staff.

Come here to get a takeaway every Saturday evening and the food is always super. The staff are always very lovely, friendly and welcoming. Love it here and would definitely recommend it!

I often bring the family here to eat. We have never had a single reason not to be happy with every aspect of this family run business.

Skate and chips from Britannia last night was totally delicious. The fish was moist and flavourful and the batter was crispy and not greasy. Excellent.

This has been a reliable find. You get off the train and come up the steps out of the station and go left toward the high street "Queensway". When there you will see this opposite. I have eaten Haddock and chips, and the excellent London favourite "Rock salmon and chips" (actually dogfish, but very tasty with a central backbone and soft flesh either side). This is increasingly listed as not available in chippies so is welcomed when seen. Chips and fish excellent, and not too much or too little of them. Cheerful Turkish staff. No nonsense with frozen fish or long delays. The rock order took 8 minutes. It does take away or sit down, the latter works out at £8.50. There's another chippy in Petts Wood which has won awards but I left it fast after reading that a sit down rock and chips would be £12.50
