Have just come back from Cornwall where the fish and chips are meant to be amazing and ate extremely expensive but this place knocks spots off of any cornish chippy I've visited, the chips were perfect and the fish was tasty with amazing crunchy batter, and at a reasonable price, a proper fish and chips, just like years ago, plus the lady behind the counter was super polite, will definitely be going back when next in Pettswood

My first time and I was hungry and I was licking my lips for a Chippy Lunch. The Young Lady was very friendly and helpful. I was going to have the Chicken Burger and Chips due to the photo I saw of my daughter’s one on her last visit. But the Fried Chicken looked so good. I ordered 4 pieces and Chips plus 2 Spicy Potatoes. It was so delicious but I was only able to eat 1 pieces of Chicken. She gave me a box to take others away with me. My daughter had the Chicken Burger(see the pic) and others had 2 pieces & Chips.I highly recommend this place because it reminded me of the Chip Shops in my early years. I give them a Massive 10 out of 10 and will be back soon 👏🏻

Probably my first disappointing experience with ordering here. The fish was literally 1/2 the size of every other piece I’d had so extremely dissatisfied.

I was over for a funeral & popped into this fish shop later i the evening . Oh my the fish & chips were amazing , the service was very fast & the staff were very friendly , When I'm back in the UK again We will visit here again

I was absolutely disgusted with this fish and chip shop. I ordered for my two young children and it was taking a very long time. It kept saying they were assigning a driver and that they would start preparing the food. When the food arrived 1 hour 25 minutes later it was freezing cold. When I went into the shop to complain they refused to supply a new portion as they said it wasn’t down to them to give away free food! The lady serving was so unpleasant and I would highly recommend not to order f

Britannia is my favourite place for fish and chips and I am a repeat customer.

Only ordered a regular chips as a takeaway, now £3, over priced, how much dose a potato cost? Chips were hard lots of small bits, tasted like they had been lying in the hot box for over an hour. My last visit to the place.

The food was fantastic What let this down was the service, phoned in to order food, was told 10 minutes, 20 minutes later still waiting, too busy sorting out just eat deliveries, when I mentioned to them that I'd been waiting a long time, they bagged and gave me straight away.....was all sitting there in the hot cupboards. Girls had long hair flowing and kept fiddling with it, long false nails, which is a no no when serving food

Delivery time kept changing, odd route taken, 90% of fish was crisp and tasty, part of it was a bit soggy, chips were hot and fine

Best fish&chips whit out any question.

Not the best! The fish was mushy, the batter was limp & tasteless. I ordered a large which wasn’t what I would consider a large to be. The chips weren’t too bad but again lacked a bit of taste. The order was done at 6.15 & didn’t get to me til 7.15. The original delivery time was 6.40. I regularly order from this chippy but I think I’ll be going elsewhere next time.

Not sure how they managed to get the chips to us so hot, absolutely piping hot and the usual generous portion with crispy batter over a meaty cod, perfect!

Can’t fault the restaurant at all! But the driver… why do they have our contact details if they’re gonna just walk around for fun and then just sit on their bike with our food WITHOUT calling us. Annoying!

Food arrived with items missing, when we called the restaurant they said they checked cctv and all items were put in the bag. Either they're lying or the driver took a savaloy and steak &kidney pie and munched it on the 5 min journey from the restaurant to my house. Really really poor experience and I expect full compensation from yourselves and I don't plan on using Just Eat again

Every week for a long time, every Friday, we have ordered two large cod, and a portion of chips. It's always been ok. Tonight, only one cod arrived, so I rang. First I was told she definitely put two in. I pointed out there was one box, with the bag of chips on top. She continued to argue she put two fish in. Eventually I was told they could only offer a refund. I said we wanted the fish, and she said she would speak to the manager. Two minutes of background noise, then I heard her pick up the phone and hang up. I rang back and was told I had to contact Just Eats (they didn't screw up), and ask for a refund. She said she didn't hang up. I've now ordered a replacement fish from somewhere else. Will never order fro. Such an unhelpful place again

1st time using this shop. Ordered 1/4lb cheeseburgers and chips for 3 people. Added additional details for each individual burger and everything came perfect and tasted delicious 😋 😍

Chips were not cooked but the ones that were we lovely .. I paid &1.90 unbelievable for curry sauce nd you get more at McDonald’s unacceptable specially in the living crisis we are in.

The worst cod and chips I have ever had, if that was actually cod then I am George Clooney, it was vile and tasteless, the chips were dryer than a nuns nunni, I would have been better off eating the box, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, had to give 1 star as the staff were friendly

Owners changed again and food was terrible me and my brother ordered today and we have been conned. The chips were small and all broken and the cod was really small and funny tasting. Its aa shame, my family was good friends with the old owners and i dont think we will be coming back to that chippy severely dissatisfied

I am normally pleased with the quality of the food, but today the chips were soggy, with an odd taste. The sausage was also lame and not properly cooked. This is no way of treating a customer of many years. Disappointed

It was my first time I‘ve ordered from Britannia Fish Bar. Delivery arrived pretty good on time. But I was very disappointed. The haddock fillet seemed wasn’t fresh, didn’t smell nice. I phoned to the fish bar and told them about it. They offered free fillet on my next order. It’s not gonna happen. I will not order anymore. But apart of that, chicken, chips and cod bites and mushy peas was lovely.

Fish a bit greasy. Not normally like that but had to wait ages for a driver. Also missed 2 pieces of chicken so my daughter had to wait for me to get her dinner and when we tried to order again it came up restaurant closed. Not great

Order was never delivered by Just Eat. We had to ring the restaurant who said they were still waiting for a driver after 1 hour. We ended up driving down to get the food. The restaurant were fantastic and very sorry but not there fault. I will be ordering direct and picking up in future. Another shocking non delivery from a Just Eat. I think it’s time to delete my app as this is now the 3rd time delivery service has let us down.

The food was delivered by the restaurant. Just eat driver did not show up. App said they were at restaurant but they were not. Food was very late. Kids were starving. Very disappointing.

Fish didn't taste fresh. Whenever I collect the order personally, the fish is cooked to order but didn't taste like it this time when it was delivered.
