We had called in previously for lunch and were so impressed by the welcome and the fact that it is so dog friendly, it was top of our list of eating places during a recent stay in Moffat. Our expectations were high, but they were exceeded! The retro gin bar was a great way to start the evening with a huge choice of gins and then the quality of the food was fantastic! We loved our starters of the duck Bon Bon and mushroom terrine and the mains of beef platter and pheasant were exceptional. I cannot think of anywhere else to enjoy such great quality food in a friendly atmosphere alongside our dog! Can’t wait to return! Thank you.

Really tried to offer vegans and vegetarians something interesting, with mixed results. Starters were great. The mustard panecotta is fabulous and the arancini are lovely. The mains are less great. The ratatouille spring roll is decent, although too many layers of filo make it dense in places. The sweet potato and quinoa fritters are mushy and gloopy- fry them in panko to give some crunch. The assorted veg accompanying the mains was a mix too far. Service was helpful; the dining room was pleasant; and the overall experience was good.

Harbour Inn

11/06/2019: We were hugely impressed with the menu especially the veggie/vegan and gluten free section. I do eat fish so opted for it on this occasion but on our next visit I sm trying the veggie haggis/ tattie stack!
10/06/2019: An extremely busy pub both with locals and visitors. Booking is a must. Staff were very pleasant and very hard working. Food was very god and a good choice. We visited twice during our week's stay. All tables were reserved on both occasions.
