Nice pub, and friendly staff and the drinks were at good prices that's why I've given 4 stars We went for the quiz, which was a total disaster. Too many questions and picture rounds and questions were read at breakneck speed, didn’t have time to get another drink If they get a decent quizmaster, we might go back, but otherwise won't bother

I love this place since its opened again. I just wish it'd find it's footing, sometimes opening hours are hit and miss. They know when to leave you alone and when you want a little chat. Much more personal service than wetherspoons and the music helps with the atmosphere. I generally come here to unwind a little or when I need a little time to sort my head out and the staff make it the best place in Brigg to do just that. I look forward to seeing this pub thrive in the near future.

Had sunday lunch at this pub with my husband and my parents. The food was excellent and plenty of it. You could have other meals apart from a sunday lunch. I had the roast pork, my husband had the roast beef, my father had chicken and my mum had vegetarian lasagne. The landlord, Shane was an excellent host and not in your face. There was a good selection on the sweet menu and we all had apple crumble and custard, beautiful. This was my first visit since Shane took over and we are going again for valentines. I would highly recommend this pub. Overall, 100%

Went here for a lunch time meal with some work colleagues on a business lunch. How embarrassing as had seen some great photos advertising delicious food. How wrong could you get with that one.... The food was horrendous. We were served chips that had obviously been cooked the day before and then warmed up in a microwave. The sandwich fillings were non-existent. This is such a shame as prior to the pub being taken over by The Brit Kitchen it was a fantastic place to eat and we ate there on a regular basis. The Brit Kitchen has to be the worst place I have eaten in Brigg and would definitely not be going back there. Plenty of great places to eat in Brigg so will be avoiding this one

The menu was a little random with something for everyone but the friendly staff were willing to chop or change anything. So we entered £17 for drinks but NO ice available or limes for the GnTs none forthcoming!! Arrived with a party of 12 after lovely walk. All ordered the Sunday lunch which was either pork or beef. Most chose beef, including myself. Now, when you are paying £8.95 you expect reasonable quality. When the food arrived i took one look at the beef and thought it looked poor. I preceded to taste and yes, it was tough, chewy, inedible. So much so, it put me off the rest of the meal which looked ok. The others all agreed that the quality of the beef was very poor. When asked if the meal was ok by a member of staff we told her it wasn't good. She acknowledged us and carried on serving at the bar. So all in all, we left very dissapointed with the food and the response from the staff. Will not return.

We went for an early evening meal, our first visit to the restaurant. A decent menu with sensible pricing was a good start, unfortunately the staff have not much clue with wines, so that was difficult as we are not beer drinkers! We chose fish and chips, which did come with a "whale" of a clue, probably best shared! The fish was well cooked with good batter, unfortunately badly presented as it broke when chef was plating up, which brings the main grumbe, the fish was placed on top of the chips, which is guaranteed to make the chips soggy. I am not a fan of chips or wedges with skins left on, though accept this is a matter of taste, but I really don't do soggy.

We went here last Saturday and I was really disappointed with the service. The pub is reasonable but the service really let it down. I asked for a Sauvignon Blanc and they'd completely ran out so I had to settle with either a Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio, which I have to be honest are far from my favourites. We were then told we could sit anywhere, to be told 10 minutes later we'd sat in a reserved table (nothing on the table would have suggested that). We were then told to move, to then be told we could sit back down as their reserved guests preferred to sit somewhere else. The atmosphere in the pub was lacking and it all felt a bit flat. I overheard the waitresses at a few other tables apologising for running out of things after orders had already been taken. The whole experience put me off ever wanting to try the place for food - and most probably even a drink again.

Visited with family who had eaten here once before and they said it was good and worth going. They had booked a table ( no one knew that when we arrived) but it wasn't necessary as only 3 persons eating when we arrived. Waitress service slow considering place nearly empty- had to go and find to order dessert. Food though was very good and reasonably priced. Very pleasant surrounds- clearly a lot of money has been recently spent - new furniture, nicely decorated. Worth a visit. I've been twice for a meal at the Britannia now, twice in the last month. Both meals were good hearty home cooking. The steak pie is one of the best I have had! Staff were very attentive and friendly. The only negatives are that we were waiting quite a while for our food to arrive on both occasions which I think is a common complaint at the moment, the only other thing was that the Yorkshire pud with my Sunday roast was too salty and had also been left reheating in the oven too long as it was quite hard. My friend had said the same on her recent visit.

We went on a Saturday night, about 6:30. It wasn't too busy when we arrived. The service was fine with the first drinks and order taking. The starter took 20-30 mins to arrive. We then waiting 40 minutes more for the main, where they didn't bring the extra sides we'd ordered, didn't bring the drinks we'd asked for, and didn't take away empty glasses so we didn't have much room left on the tiny table. I would have loved a pudding but I wasn't waiting any more. No one apologised for anything, which annoyed me. I'd be happier if they'd just explained they were busy and were polite. When I went round the other side of the bar to get and pay the bill, there were 4 waitresses stood chatting at the bar.

We visited for the first time ever on a Sunday night at about 7.30pm without booking. We had heard a good report and were hoping for good things. As we had never been there before we cannot compare the old with the refurbished, but it had certainly been done sympathetically and was a nice pub inside. After checking they were still serving food, we ordered drinks and took a seat in the smaller area to the left of the entrance. My wife had seen the menu in advance and was looking forward to a rib eye steak. She started to make her order only to be told there were no steaks left. I asked if there was anything else not available before we reconsidered and the waitress listed another 3 or 4 menu items. So we had to have a few minutes for a rethink. My wife was very disappointed, but we carried on and she ordered a steak pie and I ordered sea bass from the specials board. I was going to have a starter, but with the messing around decided to pass on this occasion. A little while later the waitress returned to tell me that I could have the sea bass, but it would no longer be with a prawn and salmon risotto and seafood bonbon, but would instead be on a bed of crushed potato (mash to most of us). I queried if the price would be lower than the advertised £10.95 and she said she believed so. Then we waited 40 minutes and our food was duly brought over - friends had warned us of this delay so we were prepared, but we were not advised by the staff on the night. By this time our drinks were finished so we ordered another round. The sea bass and mash (which by now was all it was) was nice enough. The fish was tasty with a crispy skin, but nothing like the original dish should have been obviously and I had eaten it all in about 5 or 6 minutes which was disappointing for one of the more expensive mains. My wife on the other hand loved her pie, chips and veg and could hardly eat it all there was so much. Then came the bill. This was £33. The sea bass had been reduced in price by £1, the two beers and two 250ml glasses of Merlot came to just short of £15 and the rest was the food. The waitress service was good, the meals were nicely presented and showed promise, but the non-availability of several main courses, the long delay, the insubstantial fish dish and the expensive drinks make this only an average night out at this stage. We will probably try it again at some point and hope for better next time.

this was our first visit but will certainly not be our last, we visited on Saturday night 28th February, with our friends who have eaten here before and loved the food, lovely menu, varied with a twist. We ordered drinks and chatted with staff about time of service for meals, we ordered starters and main dishes, I had creamy garlic mushrooms with ciabatta bread, absolutely gorgeous, one of the best I've ever tasted, hubby had black pudding with duck egg on top on bed of mustard sauce, friends had fish coujons which she stated Were gorgeous lovely light batter and meaty fish, for my main I had chicken breast stuffed with bacon cheese, on a bed of crushed potatoes with a beautiful mushroom sauce, and seasonal veg, the chicken was succulent and tasty, loved the take on the mash, 2 friends had seabass on a bed of prawn risotto, with seasonal veg, that they said was one of the best risotto's they have had, 1 friend had steak an ale pie, chips and veg with gravy, which he said was absolutely lovely, great taste and full of juicy meat. The service and friendliness of the staff made for a very enjoyable evening, nothing was to much trouble, defiantly will be returning as we are now going to work our way through the brilliant menu. They had run out of ham, and then sausages and they also didnt have any sparkling water which I drink. He ended up ordering a chili which was supposed to come with sour cream - you've guessed it, no sour cream. They brought the food before the cutlery. Paper napkins and no condiments on the table. I am only in Scunthorpe for another week. . I went alone to the Lord Robert’s on 2 occasions. Live music night Saturday. The Welcome from bar staff and patrons was so warm and welcoming. Love it. Thankyou because you can take the girl out of Scunthorpe ….. not the Scunthorpe out if the girl. See you all Saturday 24th for my Goodbyes. Thanks to you all. Special thanks to Rob Cardy who watched out for me

The White Swan is a proper community pub, with friendly staff selling good real ale (rare in Barton). During the week the pub plays host to many local groups and societies, some organised but many just casual. On Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes they offer a really good brunch ranging from traditional breakfasts to more exotic fare. If in Barton a visit is highly recommended.

Friendly staff, good service and plesant sourandings. We normally call in arond lunch time for a breckfast which is reasonable priced and very good. on a nice day you can sit outside by the pool / lake. I think there is a fishing shop and one can fish ? I think they also rent static homes ? you would have to inquire we only pop in for a meal.
