Britannia Cafe in Derby

Came with my daughter for a breakfast. It's somewhere where we've been coming for several years. It's familiar, well priced and the food always tastes really good. I like the fact Brittiannia cafe looks after the elder generation, and I can see myself continuing to come even when I am retired. It's our go - to local cafe, as holds lots of positive memories with my children.

Older crowd, definitely a silver surfer type of cafe. But staff we polite and service was quick with the food tasty. They allowed me to edit my order slightly due to dietary preferences. And the cost was quite reasonable to say the least. I only needed a place to sit for 30 minutes or so, but it was a decent find. Tucked a little out of the way, it looked closed until I went up to the door.

Old school cafe. Quick service, hot food fresh cooked. Plenty of seats and clean. Definitely recommend this place.

We've been fans of Britannia Cafe for many years. It would be good to have a few Free From items for those of us with changing needs, but the food available is always nice, tasty and filling :)

We always visit here when on our annual holiday in the Peak District. 5 times so far. It is quite simply the best. Good quality, excellent service at a fair price.

Love this place would say "cheap and cheerful", but service is good prices are reasonable, although be aware no chips with a burger?! Cafe was clean and is always busy, a proper cafe!! Love it!!

Needed a good value feed after Download, was pointed in the direction of this cafe by a kind chap in Derby. Great breakfast, nice sausage and lovely coffee and all very reasonable prices with lovely friendly staff....winner!!

The staff in there were super friendly. Sadly, I didn't finish my food as I wasn't feeling too well, but the food that I did have tasted great!

Rubbish food expensive service is very poor ended up with food posion under cooked food staff was very rude saw mice droppings on the floor very cold inside would not tell anyone to go there not even the dogs it was that bad

The food was fantastic, a good proper full English breakfast! The coffee was half bad but not as strong as I'd like it. The price was pretty perfect for the value of my meal. The staff were very polite, helpful and efficient at cleaning up after other customers had left. It's a nice cafe, it's tooked away from the busy shopping centre and high street on a side street but this adds to the experience. I'll be back again for sure.

very poor service they dont give toast,i order full english breakfast just one slice of toast very small ,,i for my order 25 min and after when i order extra 1 slice toast i wait another 20 min i was ready to leave ,i never go back there !!!

A good breakfast at a reasonable price, we tend to go there most times when in Derby,if you want a breakfast it is the best we have come across in Derby and we have tried quite a few of them in the city centre.

My friend and I visited twice for breakfast during our weekend stay and again enjoyed superb well cooked breakfasts. Deserved to be much higher in the ratings. Highly recommended.

My experience when visiting derby is to go here for a fry up. First class cafe and well placed for my walk back from the Premier Inn to the train station.

Love this place, been going for years take my kids and grandkids here when ever we are in town, never had a bad meal yet and lovely home made food.

Lovely home-made "British Fayre" here, that "Is Not Overpriced" like most places. It is situated in;- "#DERBY CITY CENTRE", off of;- "#EAST STREET", down the side of an ancient, cobbled footpath, to the left, that eventually leads you either to;- The White Horse Pub, The Morledge, Derby" (dependant on which direction you approach it), or, if you are to find it, by way of the mentioned pub, it is further up the footway, to the side of that pub, on your right. You'll find their clientele, are mainly made up of older generations but this should not prevent you from going to eat their, &, have a cuppa. Their "#Capuccino's, #Mochas, #Lattes, "#Choca Mocha's, #Hot Chocolate, "#Fruit Teas, #Tea", &, "#Coffees", are half the price of some "#Well Know Establishments", &, "THEY COULD DO WITH EVERYONES SUPPORT, TO KEEP THEM OPEN, BY GOING THEIR INSTEAD, FROM TIME TO TIME"!!!

My partner had not been here before he commented to the chef breakfast was beautiful great selection of food and deserts

Payed £1.50 for 2 slices of toast then when asked for butter was asked to pay a further 25p each portion for the butter! Absolutely ridiculous will not return!!!

This little hidden gem is a fantastic place to have breakfast or dinner. I go here every morning for either a full English or a delicious BLT. The staff are so friendly and the place is immaculate.

You can easily pass by the little street down to this cafe but my advice is don’t miss out! Nice place, nice staff and excellent food like our breakfasts. Very keen prices but no compromise on quality and freshness here. No greasy spoon this is great cafe food in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended and deserves to be much higher in the ratings.

This is not a food review or even how I was served! This review is about the people/person , I came home tonight to find two police cars @ Elderly Neighbours house! I stopped and was told that Amanda (Britannia Cafe) hadn't seen Harry (our neighbour) for two days @ the cafe! She took it upon herself to make sure he was ok , Police called, Police broke into house , Harry on the bathroom floor been there 2 days, fallen! Amanda I would say has saved Harry , also the police of course! Thank you !!

Sausages well under cooked ie pink on inside the price was £5 more than anywhere else sorry but I won't be back really fort the extra money would of been worth it but sadly disappointed

Lovely place to have a meal. Food is fresh and always piping hot. My only criticism is that alot of the menu could have vegetarianoptions along side them with only slight changes. I love the menu but for my vegetarian friends it's limited. Food for thought would be having the same roast dinners but with vegetarian gravey and stuffing so vegetarian could have it. Additionally this would mean chips and gravey could also be vegetarian. I love this place but more and more I'm going somewhere else simply because others in my group who are vegetarian don't have a wide range of choices.

I had a full breakfast and it was very nice, but..... The eggs were banging, best eggs I've had in a while.

nice clean spacious hand sanitizer station on your way in two way walk away in place table two 2-m apart everyone wearing masks Track and trace system. Just downside they didn't have soya milk for my cupper tea so instead I had black coffee. I don't think they cater for people with allergies or intolerance that why I give them 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Nice friendly people staff definitely homemade
