Bridge House Cafe in Fenland

We have had many orders delivered and just recently took 1 hour 30 minutes on average, my wife spoke gentleman on the phone after ordering online and just asked how long roughly it would take and the gentleman was very rude to her saying it’s busy it will get there soon nothing I can do about it and carried on moaning to her, this is not the response people want to hear after a simple question was asked, we won’t be ordering from there again, avoid if you want to wait nearly 2 hours for your food, if they can’t for fill the orders then they should stop taking orders so they can catch up

I ordered a large seafood pizza at £16 which on the website menu said included anchovies it was hunt the sea food and no anchovies. The main ingredient was onion when i complained they pulled it apart finding a couple of SMALL prawns and a small amount of tuna and seemed to think that was value for money Never go again

We were heading from March to Ely or Huntingdon, but decided en route to try this place instead to cut a few miles off the round trip. I'm glad we did, the food was great. A much nicer place to eat than your typical burger / kebab / pizza outlet, and decent value too. Really good all round, we'll definitely return.

All of the bad reviews i've just read resonate with me as i've had very similar experiences on more than one occasion. We'd order a couple of pizzas and some sides, at a reasonable 730pm, we were told an hour wait as they were busy, fine we agreed - an hour later nothing. I called and was shouted at and told my delivery would be there when it was there. it got to 9.15 (very hungry child and family waiting!), and the delivery driver was finally here - missing items and wrong pizza. When I called I was shouted at again, and staff were giggling in the background. When i first moved to chatteris this place was great, and the service was fantastic. More recently it certainly has gone down hill. I feel they need to take this feedback on board and perhaps action something! There are plenty of other takeaways in and around chatteris.

Not high gastronomy, but if you want to know what a real pizza or burger should taste like, this is excellent food at a reasonable price+

We decided to order a takeaway I ordered a halloumi kebab with salad my daughter ordered a full meat kebab with salad and chips, we ordered at 6pm and were told it would be an hour, okay busy times with lockdown and the outlet is literally 2 mins in drive for delivery, it got to 7.30 and still no delivery!!!!! My daughter phoned through and was told they were busy and laughing down the phone, we didnt find this amusing one bit, eventually the food arrived at 7.50 the food was cold and my daughter has no salad what so ever, so she called in again and the same lady who answered found it amusing, they were not prepared to rectify any mistakes or apologise for our poor experience, I actually made my daughter a salad for her meal, and with alot of businesses struggling in these difficult times you would think Bridge House would be on top of thier game, unfortunately we will never use them again, and will seek other local establishments who offer excellent customer service

We've been customers at Bridge House for over 20 years, seen staff come and go and never had the problems which we've encountered in the last year or so. 7 out of 10 of our last orders have had incomplete dishes or entire items missing! Brought it to their attention nearly every time (a couple weren't worth the hassle of calling) and still the same poor service/attention to detail. Today's excuse was "we're busy, sorry". Well that ain't good enough I'm afraid! In fact, its the quietest I've seen it uolp there for a long time.... maybe time to give them a miss and use some of the other takeaways. :-( bring back the old staff!

My granddaughter & i decided to get a takeaway for tea & as i have several dietary problems "veggie" is often the only option. That wasnt the problem here though - they offer nice food usually & are a real treat. // I rang up to order our food - 2 veggieburgers 1 kind of curly chips for my grandaughter & ordinary ones for myself. We added salad & 2 drinks //When the food was delivered imagine our horror to find ONE meal instead of TWO! There were the chips & drinks but it was actually a big Birthday & they managed to ruin it completely. i was devastated . // Its a shame because weve always enjoyed eating in there previously & i have been happy to leave a GOOD review in the past, but when i rang up to complain for this error the woman was SO nasty & rude to me &managed to ruin an otherwise wonderful day. Its a really important point of customer service to try & resolve problems like this. I was very clear when i ordered that we wanted TWO meals & my granddaughter heard me order TWO. i can understand the woman at the cafe may have misheard me, but i was definitely under the impression she had heard me correctly & that we would receive our food in due course.// Theyve definitely lost a GOOD customer.

I ordered online with the restaurant and was on the understanding a kids chicken popper meal comes with 10 chicken poppers. When the food arrived it only came with 5 and when disputing this with the manager he was rude and condescending. He went on to blame me for an issue he had with his supplier and was just down right rude whenever there wasn't other customers in store.

Unfortunately although the quality of the food is very good here and was our go to kebab shop the prices have gone up and the quantity has gone down, the last 3 times we have ordered our usual chicken kebabs the quantity of meat is less and they also seem to no longer come with the skewer of vegetables included which made them worth the cost, even though the price has gone up. This seems to have been since the new generic takeaway style menu was introduced. The first time we presumed was a mistake but it has happened 3 times now. The chilli sauce also seems to now be more tomato based than actually hot chilli flavoured although that may be down to whoever made it the last few times. I would stress the food is still delicious but just now seems very expensive for what you are getting.

I ordered 3 pizzas- take away. Never had sooo delicious pizza before . Taste like a homemade- so fresh. Square size- and round . Very highly recommend this place. Beautiful food , very clean place and staff who works there are so polite.Definitely will be ordering from there again.

It's a shame that you can't get a thin crust or stone baked Freshly made Pizza in Chatteris.... Hopefully this might get a few Takeaways thinking about it.Ive had your Pizza and Kebabs 9/10...

Eaten in cafe several times but we've never had a takeaway previously - until tonight. It quite simply "what It says on the tin". GORGEOUS. Beautiful food (as always in the cafe). Polite & v helpful staff to take the order & delivered faster than we expected but hot & Really nicely presented food. A real alternative to cooking tea & we will definitely be ordering again.

Well ordered food last night and it come it was terrible, chicken burger soaked in ketchup, sent curly fries not wedges and put a note on saying no wedges left, didn't want curly fries as have them in the freezer if I wanted them, hubby's kabab was dry and cold... nasty meal. Send a message the next day to be offered a refund on the curly fries at this point I said the whole meal should be refunded thb got a bad attitude via fb messenger then I was ignored all day so left bad feedback on there page and then got another message back saying I was dishonest and would never be served again. This is how they treat customers in a small town where word of mouth is a big thing. The business used to be lovely till the new owners toke over. Avoid at all cost.

Had a takeaway from here this evening our first since lockdown started 8 weeks ago and it was dreadful from start to finish. Upon calling all you could hear were kids screaming in the background, making it hard to hear what the lady on the phone was saying. We ordered a large mixed kebab and a small doner kebab. Collection went fine did find it odd that on their FB page it states to wait outside and the seating area was closed yet there was a lady with her kids sat on the couch (same kids that were screaming maybe?) anyways got the food home and it was dreadful. The large mixed kebab was smaller than the small doner kebab, the large mixed kebab that was ordered with salad and mayo came with neither (wasn’t in a separate box we looked). The doner meat was crusty, dry and looked burned. There was a meat that we couldn’t even tell what is was supposed to be it resembled dog food! The unknown meat was mostly made up of gristle, fat, it was burnt on the outside but mush on the inside. Finally when you picked the pitta up it was actually dripping in grease underneath and was extremely oily. The only thing this was good for was the bin! Such a shame as we were really looking forward to our lockdown treat. We will not be returning and my advice would be to avoid or at the very least avoid the kebabs!!

Very rude lady made me and my pregnant girlfriend stand outside when the shop was empty and very cold along with seeing dogs and animals in there near the food and letting her kids run riot if you don't want to be insulted or left freezing outside don't go

My wife and I often drive the extra distance to Bridge House if we fancy a kebab, quite possibly the best chicken and donner meat we have had in the area. Staff are always friendly and helpful and although not cheap, certainly not expensive! Portion size is very good and makes for excellent value for money. Chilli sauce is both flavoursome and with a reasonable kick for those who care about it, which can rarely be said unfortunately as most places serve mild tomato based stuff imo.

Due to work being done in our kitchen we're having takeaways - one night we had delicious southern fried chicken & chips and then tonight we had Tony's special pizza and curly fries - definitely the best pizza we've had in years. Phoned through the orders and ready on time, all staff very friendly at very reasonable prices - will use again & again.

Planned route home via this venue, and glad we did. It is both an eat in and take away restaurant. We ate in had a nice cup of coffee, and various Kebabs, all where very nice, well presented and tasty. The venue is very clean, the staff very welcoming. We didn’t have to wait long for our food. Yes I will be going again yes I do recommend this venue.

Had a great take away from here yesterday. They’re kebabs are excellent, especially the halumi. Delicious

Lovely clean establishment.Friendly staff and lovely freshly cooked food hence you sometimes have to wait but we'll worth it. Eat in or take away. Breakfasts are fab too

Clean and tidy . Food is excellent a little more expensive than some of the local takeaways but like they say you get what you pay for, well worth the extra pennies

We went for breakfast with our 9 month old son. The waitress was very nice and could see our son was hungry so brought him over some toast while we waited for our breakfasts to be cooked. Lovely place! Will return some time soon!

Nice place 2 eat in not many in Chatteris , it is a shame they don’t do delivery but food is nice a bit over priced compared 2 other takeaway in town ! There milkshakes r very nice! The food is nice chicken is better then Donna tho . Salad is always fresh . Nice and clean place all in all good place

Went for tea with a friend , chicken and lots of chips , very hot and arrived quick plus £4 so great value too recommended

Costa coffee. Quite sociable. Okay. Clean. Plain decor. Happily corrected wrong order. Didn't rush us to leave (and we stand chatting for ages after cups we're cleared.

If you want decent grub on a budget, this is the place for you. The kebabs are excellent and all cooked fresh. There's a choice of chicken dishes and panninis, but I would definitely recommend the lamb and chicken kebabs, which come with a lovely salad and a big blob of mayo. Also tried the fried chicken and spicy wings combo. At a fiver, you can't go wrong. If you can't be bothered with cooking, it's worth a walk up Bridge Street to the Bridge House cafe. Eat in or take-away.

Took our grandchildren for tea after a busy day shopping. Everyone enjoyed their food, the service was quick and the staff as friendly as ever. On the down side (?) they give you too much.

Called in as decided on a change from my normal kebab takeaway.

Been here several times, often get too much when ordering pizza but take it home :) My daughter likes here over any other take away. Reasonably priced. Only downfall they don't deliver.

Ahora han sido en varias ocasiones y cada vez disfrutamos de la comida. Me gustan las ensaladas y hacen una buena variedad y un buen plato! Nada de lado con verdes ensalada piddly stalky y horrible rocket! Pero buena ensalada fresca! ! ! A menudo me costó a comer todo - patatas chaqueta son enormes! Un buen lugar para comer, menús limpio y variado y puede ordenar del menú para llevar también! El lugar está limpio y el personal amable. Un menú de imagen para ayudar a las personas a decidir siempre es una gran idea.

Having eaten in and having had several takeaways, this Cafe is highly recommended, it is clean and friendly, with a wide range of choices for lunch time light meals as well as the heavy evening choices.

Nunca vamos como siempre ir a éste apretaba marzo kebab o kebab shop chatteris. En la noche en que fuimos aquí queston prueba y qué pérdida de tiempo y dinero. El kebabs trajimos eran caros y sin sabor el doner no tenía gusto para que nunca más.

We have just had lunch at Bridge House Cafe and really enjoyed it! We had lamb kofte baguettes & chips, the food was really nice, good value for money and polite & friendly staff!

Good pizzas. Cleanishk. Good service. We got not much pizzas places, this the 1 i will recomend after chatteris kebab place.

Bridge House is a good reasonably priced Cafe where you get good food cooked freshly for you. Your meal can be eaten in or taken away. Staff are always polite and friendly.

Bridge House is our local takeaway. We have used it for many years.The food is always cooked well and salad is always freshly prepared.The staff are pleasent and work hard to get your order correct.

Good food went here for breakfast service and quick and food tasted nice, yet to try the takeaway menu but the menu looks good.

Called in here for breakfast on sat 10th September, was very pleasantly surprised, the girl who served us was very friendly and welcoming, the food was very hot and tasty, highly recommended

We visited on a Sunday, and had a very nice coffee and cake at a very reasonable price. They were about to start serving Sunday lunch, for which they were fully booked. Always a sign that somewhere is worth visiting.Very friendly staff.

Staff were truly impressive, clean well decorated cafe. Four of us stopped for coffee and breakfast which we all enjoyed, my husband asked for just toast and although not on the menu as a seperate item they did not hesitate to give him what he asked for.A brilliant place to stop, very clean and friendly.

I use this cafe quite a lot and always find it run to a very high standard. The food is always cooked extremely quickly and to perfection. The staff are very friendly and super efficient and the premises are spottlessly clean and hygenic, but best of all they serve wonderful Costa coffee!!!!!!

Only ever had a kebab there after the pub but they do a good job - cheerful, rapid service and quality food

Pukka food ...pukka service really frendly really welcoming. .seating area away from main counter. Warm n comfortable seating area. Coustmer service quick n frendly.

Best kebabs for miles. The meat is very tender and seasoned well, not too salty like a lot of other places. Love the fact that they do proper garlic yogurt rather than the nasty mayo that you get just about everywhere else - these are really good authentic kebabs. The place is spotless and the staff are very friendly, it is a great place to take kids.

I forgot how nice their kebabs are.I can say my advice to you is, don't go anywhere else in Chatteris... if you would like a nice proper tasty kebab.... then it's Bridge House.

Great food and great portions, you won't be disappointed! We had a couple of kebabs in the restaurant, one chick, one mixed, and the presentation on the plates was great! The mixed was huge, almost a struggle to finish it, but it was all so well cooked and fresh. The salad that came with it was plentiful too, well laid out and a great and varied selection.You must try the Bridge House Café out, even if you're only passing, you won't be disappointed!

Although this is predominately a burger/chicken and kebab house their eat in menu is extensively different covering all types of breakfasts...but beware portion sizes are manly huge!!Recommend the food and the friendly service.
