Great little cafe on the NC500. Lovely coffee and a rhubarb/apple soda that was really good! Broccoli soup was very good. Tuna mayo was good but a lot of bread versus filling. Excellent side salad. First spinach we’d seen in a week.

Have known this cafe for years under various owners. Current people very pleasant indeed, however very limited range. What we had was tasty enough (savoury pastry). Would have added a cake / bake, but these are sitting on the counter uncovered with a customer table right up against it, so put us off. All in all, a pleasant enough little place, and worth a visit.

We popped in the Bridge Cottage Art Café after a wintery but beautiful walk along River Ewe and we felt it was the right choice the moment we walked through the door. The cakes (date slice and carrot cake) were absolutely delicious and the lattes the best we had for a long time. The decoration was absolutely lovely (thanks to Ailsa for the mural) and the music very soothing. The fact that the café combines with an art gallery was an absolute treat. We definitely recommend venturing upstairs to browse the beautiful photos, paintings, textiles, mugs and notepads (all inspired by nature and the creation of the owners: Jennifer, Ailsa and Ian). And last but not least, thanks ever so much to Ailsa and Ian for giving us such a warm welcome. We wish you the very best in your new adventure in beautiful Wester Ross!

Great cozy little place with locals and some visitors. They're expanding their menu a bit, but the coffees are delicious, and cakes and scones and other goods are wonderful, baked in house by the owners' daughter, a gorgeous Scottish redhead, the vivacious Ilsa (sp?) who makes everyone feel at home!

Delighted to report that the Bridge Cottage Art Cafe has re-opened under new management. Now run by Ailsa, Jennifer and Ian, we popped in on it's first day - excellent coffee, a date slice and GF Apple and Almond cake to die for. The cakes are home-baked by Ailsa, and all looked amazing, Ian's tatty soup smelt delicious too, although we were too early in the day to try it. We will be back!!

Surprised to read some of the bad reviews here. We found this little gem on our NC 500 travels. Had the steak and ale pie and it was delicious. One of the best pies we’ve tasted. Wish we lived nearer so we could go regularly. The owner works so hard making all the pies and cakes herself. Definitely worth a stop by if you are in the area.

Delicious pies, fresh baked, and the most amazing cakes and tray bakes. Selection varies, but we enjoyed the Burns Pie (haggis, neeps and tarries) and the Hommity Pie. We had to have cakes, so enjoyed the peach Melba and a cinnamon knot. So good that we had to also have some fresh passion fruit custard cake before we left. Lovely lady to chat to. Free parking opposite. Note that it is a takeaway, but does have a few tables to sit in, and clean public toilets (maintained by the village) opposite.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the last few reviews on here. Food was terrible and basically inedible. Maybe that's why it's take away so you are far enough away when you realise how awful it is! Pies burnt and tasteless unless you like the flavour of charcoal! Also quite expensive for what they were! I definitely would not return

Awful. We visited this cafe regularly when in the area but hadn’t been since it was in new ownership. Poor menu, pies were inedible and even the hot chocolate was foul. Steak and ale pie was burnt and dried up. Goats cheese and beetroot pie was disgusting, leaving a greasy film in my mouth and a horrible taste. All our food and drink went straight in the bin. I would never go there again!

We have thoroughly enjoyed visiting this cafe in the past but were disappointed on our recent visit. When we last came it was just opening up and selling pies but we hoped the menu would have expanded by now to include sandwiches (which the menu said may be available but they weren't), salads etc. We didn't enjoy the pies we had but to fair that may have been personal taste. A lot of the reviews on trip Adviser date from when this place was run by others and had very different menus. So, if you like small warm pies, this may be for you but we shall not be rushing back.

Visited here with family as have been in the past. It seems to be run by a lady now. When we arrived she was very rude and not welcoming at all. We ordered food and drinks. The pie we ordered was inedible! Burnt on the bottom and very bland filling. Such a shame as this was a lovely little cafe in the past. Hopefully we just caught her on a bad day and things are usually better.

This tiny cafe with home made everything gets my vote. The pies are fantastic, especially the steak and ale. The choice of sweat treats is small but enough, I recommend the cherry custard tart. Lovely cafe with menu based on freshly handmade sourdough. The teacake that I had was absolutely beautiful, full of fruit (see photo) and served with cream and jam. We had a cappuccino and a hot chocolate, both excellent quality. We sat outside on the chairs provided and enjoyed the fresh air but the cafe inside was homely and the service friendly. Will definitely visit again for something more substantial from the lunch menu.
