Bridge in Dartford

i ordered a hot chocolate and when it arrived it was given too me in a dirty cup. when we took it back and said the cup was dirty, the chef replied “it’s clean it’s clean” without even looking at the cup, when there was a visible mayonnaise stain on the tip of the cup and then proceeded to complain because they had too make a new one. when ordering our food the waiter took no notice into what we was saying and we had too repeat multiple times. when the food arrived it was not nice. the baguette came with half an egg and one piece of bacon. the scrambled egg had no taste and was very watery. while the chef was cooking the food him and the waiter was eating food then mid cooking they went outside too smoke while having the door wide open resulting too cigarette smoke being blown into the cafe. since the previous chef this place has gone downhill completely and the food has become disgusting. the rudeness of the waiter and the chef was just shocking. the food and service has gotten bad. such a shame since it was a nice place before.

Food was not good, why oh why do cafes feel the need to deep fry sausages? It's just lazy... Cold beans, service was adequate but I am afraid I won't be using this cafe again.

I'm local to this cafe and its excellent, good quality and good prices friendly staff . Highly recommended

As we were having work done at home we couldn’t do our own lunch , so I popped in for 2 baguettes , 1 bacon and 1 sausage. Both were excellent and tasty

My wife and I only come here usually when we’re having work done at home and can’t cook. Today was such a day and what a fantastic meal we had. I had scampi chips and peas while my wife had the Homemade Lasagne with chips. Both were well worth the money of less than £7 each. Also my cappuccino was top class. Well done. We will be back

I cannot believe someone has left a rating of terrible. I can only assume it has something to do with the reviewers attitude and expectations. I have never been to a cafe where you are shown to a table. This is a cafe not a restaurant. The bridge is always spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent with great prices. 10.00 am is when the bridge starts to fill up so if there were only 2 of us I would not expect to sit on a table for 6.

I'd say this is a pretty typical English cafe, although the decor and atmosphere is nicer than a greasy spoon. There is a lot of variety on the menu and the prices are reasonable including cheap options.

Came to the bridge cafe with my other half. We came at 10am looking forward to a breakfast. We were met with a disappointing experience. - Moved table - wasn’t shown table - everyone else couples of two sitting at tables of 4 but only asked us to move. - Full of tables of 4 only 2 tables of two both by the door which was very cold next to the window sill was full of food debris, cobwebs and just filth, hygiene obviously not a priority. - My reason for not wanting to move table was rudely dismissed as if the choice was to either move or leave. Note there were only 3 couples in there all sitting on tables of 4 but we were the only couple asked to move due to them ‘expecting to get more busy’ even though it was only 10am. - No option to change anything, like every other cafe I have been too - allergic to eggs, they where happy to remove them entirely though, obviously saves them some money on their already extremely expensive breakfast. £7.50? - Extremely rude staff, very bad customer service. No conversation, blunt and abrupt. Worst I have ever experienced. - Food very greasy and hard to eat, mediocre at very best. Overall terrible Cafe, will never be returning and I recommend you don’t waste you time.

More than a greasy spoon but still firendly enough and reasonable decor. Coffee is really good quality and worth a visit alone. Friendly and helpful staff and well cooked food.

Just popped in as it’s local and wasn’t expecting much but it was really nice and friendly and nice food. Family run business and a real change from the chain of so called restaurants who serve cafe style food for double the cost... Worth a visit if you’re local.👍

Used the café a few times, sound the food very good and the coffee is excellent, much better than the leading coffee houses. Only down side I found that the bread doesn't seem very fresh.

Had a breakfast while waiting for someone, food was very good and great service, cafe look nice and clean.

Only really been for a fry up at the weekend but a good selection for cooked breakfast and all at a reasonable price. Service is always good as is the food

Lovely cafe lovely people who run it. Food is excellent and if you are having breakfast beware of the portions you get. Always and always will use this place when working near it.

We go here a lot and always enjoy our meals, the staff are very friendly and helpful ,we have become quite regulars here . They have a nice seating area outside up the side which has a trampoline for the children .

Had a great breakfast here the other day. Bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and a "slice" all washed down with a mug of tea. Delicious! What would have made it 5*? A newspaper to read as I ate.

Had a cooked breakfast here after nasty visit to doctors and really cheered me up. Super selection for breakfast - its many years since I've had bubble and squeak - here they call is just bubble, Excellent black sausage - 2 large slices, 2 bacon rashers, big pile of mushrooms and two triangles of fried bread washed down with a very large cup of Earl Grey Tea, Just the job when I;m sitting there with Tony Hancock's empty arm (cf The Blood Donor.....!).

Been here twice now for lunch/breakfast. Really impressed. Tasty food, great quality. Good prices. Coffee is lush! And really friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

I've eaten in a number of cafés and sampled numerous breakfasts over the years but this is the best by far. Good portion sizes, good quality ingredients, great value for money, well presented and friendly staff who actually remember what I normally order, even though it can be weeks between visits. The interior is clean, bright and spacious and is frequented by all sorts of people from all walks of life from builders to families. Highly recommend.

All you can eat breakfast, kids eat free ! My weekly treat when on a day off. Pleasant staff, excellent chef most visits lol

Been to this little cafe a few times with my family and as a couple. Staff are always friendly and good is good! Cheap as well

At first glance from the outside this looks a bit like an old "greasy spoon" cafe. Inside however the welcome is warm and the choice of food is good and very reasonably priced. On my first visit I ordered a Jacket Potato with cheese, this cost under £4.00 and came with a large salad and the biggest potato absolutely brimming with cheese that I have ever seen! It was nicely cooked with a lovely crisp skin. On my second visit I went with my daughter who thought they couldn't possibly be cooking such large potatoes every day, but lo and behold more massive portions. This does not just seem to apply to this particular dish but all their meals are generous and excellent value.The same goes for their tea and coffee. They seem to have a good local clientele including those from nearby offices where the suited and booted ladies and gents sit alongside the various tradesmen who know a good deal when they see one. It seems to be a family affair and it is nice to get a smile of recognition when you go in for only the second time!
