Bricklayers Arms in Tonbridge and Malling

Having used this four the last four years every week kfor a takeaway tonight will be the last time. We had noticed over the last few weeks that the price has risen dramatically and been told it’s correct, however tonight I decided to check it. It had risen to £29.90 for two of us from about £24 yea I know we got inflation but £6 in a few weeks is taking the proverbial. The food is excellent (best in the area) But I will not be taken for a mug Having the bill checked not only were overcharged but the 10% discount had not been subtracted (and insult to injury when we got home 1 dish was missing. When told the guy that we would not be be back told me the man who added the bill up and gone on a delivery A bit later got a phone call from a so called owner offering to bring the missing dish up (to late we had started our meal) When I told him that we would not be back he pleaded with us that he would give us a free meal I am afraid that they have just lost £1250 of our custom over the year So beware and CHECK CHECK CHECK YOUR BILL

Our friends regularly come here and we finally got to sample it for ourselves Friday night and can honestly say, I had one of the best curries I’ve ever had! Couldn’t tell you what it was as he made me something off menu based on what I like (salmon, spinach and aubergine) it was beautifully spiced, full of flavour and fresh. Primarily a takeaway with a couple of tables at the end of the bar so if you’re looking for something swanky then don’t come here but if you want great tasting food, reasonably priced then you will not be disappointed.

The spice house restaurant consistently produce fantastic food. I think between family and friends we have covered the whole menu and have not been disappointed yet. Can't recommend it or the host enough, although limited space so don't all rush and displace us

We order a home delivery regularly and each time it’s perfect. Piping hot food that’s fresh, tasty and always delivered on time. Can’t wait for Saturday night!

Ordered for 6 people on a Saturday night and it arrived at the requested time. Food was excellent, plenty of it very happy.

Lovely fresh tasting food with real onions and herbs present . Everything tasted great . Delivered meal for 5 ( fed 6 easily) £55 Will be our go to place from now on .

Popped in as it's the local pub trepidation as we entered but was met with a very warm welcome great selection of beers wines and spirits great atmosphere was encouraged to use the jukebox which had a very good selection of music and to top the night off they have an on site Indian restaurant come takeaway in which was very very good great night recommend highly

We have used this restaurant for a number of years and found it has got better We go for a takeaway at least once a week and can have a couple of beers whilst waiting for food I have complete faith in the guys and sometimes ask them to give me a surprise which as ailways been really tasty If I pop in of an evening for a drink sometimes get a plate of nibbles, samosas etc free of charge Nice touch

Visited on Saturday evening with my boyfriend and parents who were visiting for the weekend. We only recently moved to the area and so far had visited the pub for a drink but not dined at the restaurant. We pre booked a table a little earlier that afternoon and good job we did as the restaurant part itself is very small and I can imagine on a weekend its get full up. The tables are a little close together but like I said it is a small place and it just adds to the cosyness. The food was absolutely gorgeous and well presented! There was a huge choice on the menu and all very reasonably priced. They even offer a takeaway service which is ideal as we only live down the street. The gentleman who served us was particularly nice and friendly. He even went to the effort of recommending me a main course based upon what I liked and happy was happy to help in any way. He even brought me a glass of water when he saw me struggling with the level of spice in my boyfriends vindaloo which I couldn't help but try. Although this place is full of locals who all seem to know each other all the staff are very welcoming and attentive. I'll be back again that's for sure.

We had the set meal for 5 , 5 adults and 2 teenagers shared this feast with some left over ! We all thought the food was fresh and very tasty and the best we had all had in some time . Staff friendly when I went to order and pay and delivery driver friendly and helpful also . Throughly recommend .

We were welcomed in by a lovely young lady behind the bar who couldn't be more polite and helpful. Her smile and mannerisms made us feel right and home. Drinks at average price, but homely and warm atmosphere throughout. We will definitely be back when we next visit our friend in Larkfield to try the Indian food they serve too, it smelt delicious!

I was stopping nearby and went in for a pint, nice friendly pub , had a Indian takeaway which was very good.

What a strange little place ....quite unassuming from the outside and nothing to write home about inside but a lovely atmosphere and a great little Indian restaurant at one end of the bar.....food was good and staff friendly....well worth a visit

Ordered a take away at 5.20, got it at 6.50 - Bearing in mind we live 5 minutes away thought it was disgusting. Food lovely, service lovely, time to wait for a curry for two people extremely poor. Wont be using them again im afraid and told them so.

Visited this lovely pub recently , delicious curry that you can eat in or take away. Fantastic friendly staff. We will be returning . Definitely recommend to go in and have a drink , when you are in the area. Girls behind the bar are great.

The food is amazing for a very good price service can be a bit slow but that's more than made up for by the quality of the food, staff work very hard to cater for you requirements all in all the best around for miles

Visited the place with my wife. Great environment wicked food and great staff. The staff were all very genuine atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Would recommend this place.

Ignore the last two reviews! - this pub is a local which has lots of locals who go into it - isn't that what makes a pub??? if the locals didn't frequent then all pubs would be shutting down. Girls behind the bar always friendly and helpful.

I am a local to the Bricklayers and i can honestly say it's a breath of Fresh air having an Indian takeaway on my doorstep that actually serves tasty and not oily dinner. Long live the Bricklayers.

The Brickmakers Arms restaurant has been taken over by Bangladeshi's who are serving some pretty good "Indian food". Have eaten in and had take-aways and must admit one of the best in the area and not overpriced.If you have a take-away the upside is you can have a beer or two whilst you wait, also if you spend enough you get discount and a free side dish.Would recommend.

I've not long moved into the area and tried this pub out.Discovered that I know the cook/chef both through his mother and from previous venues.I have no problem with him (Rory) or with Kaz who are trying to set up a good food service.I do have a big problem with the staff working today.I took both my children for lunch at the BBQ today - Sunday 27th May 2012. They both ate not one but two dishes each. Total cost for their food came to nearly £10.We sat in the garden which is no small feat for me as I am disabled.My children asked for a glass of water so I sent the elder one in to get them.After 10 minutes he still had not returned so I went in to the pub. He was still standing waiting to be served.I asked the bar staff what the problem was. She said I had to understand that she would serve any adult wishing to buy beer in front of the children. I said "So because they're not a paying customer you won't serve them?" She said "The people that own the pub wouldn't like it if I served them when there's paying customers around."I replied that I find it difficult to get in from the garden and that I had come in to order more but had now changed my mind.She laughed at me.So.........if you are either disabled or have children AVOID THIS PUB.By the way, I bought raffle tickets for the meat raffle today. Numbers 376, 377 and 393.Now you can work out who I am.Over to you.Thus far....REMEMBER, IF YOU ARE EITHER DISABLED OR HAVE CHILDREN AVOID THIS PUB.

A group of us had a really good evening here. There is a new menu with great choice of food. We had lovely food, good wine and beer and will definitely be going back. Have just moved into the area - this pub is great for me.

I've had several visits to this Thai Restaurant.Only serving Thai food on Monday evenings when the kitchen is taken over by local Thai ladies.Tasty Thai food served in a small basic but clean and tidy dining area of the pub. Best to stick to bottled beer, wine or spirits at present as there seems to be a problem with the condition of the draught ale
