Takeaway. Too much salt. Sent chicken korma instead of chicken tikka masala - too hungry to complain 🙈 Quick delivery. Doubtful we’ll order again.

Sadly I won’t be going back, prawn rogan Josh was disgusting, no flavour what’s so ever, butter chicken was bright red, we checked we’d got the right curry, assured it was, just odd flavours. Been up all night and all today on the loo. No point contacting them as feel won’t get a response.

Food with character and flavour with friendly staff. Momos are a delight as well as all dishes. Traditional Nepalese food blended into to be delivered to your doorstep. A family treat of spices with some dishes more mellow and sweet. Para & family

Absolutely delicious food, hot & fresh - great sized portions and I think very good value for money, all served hot and fresh. Service was very lovely, a little slow to pay at the end but we weren't in a rush. We've not had "Nepalese" before so we were keen to try those dishes as opposed to the more "traditional" UK Indian restaurants and they were absolutely fantastic. Garlic naan could do with a little more garlic for my personal tastes but I appreciate my Sherpa chicken was extremely flavourful so maybe thats why I couldn't notice it as well!

This place never disappoints, and we go a lot (probably too much!). There are some sensational curry houses in the area (turmeric gold in Tudeley, the cinnamon in Hildenborough), but for authentic food at a great price you really can’t go wrong with Kathmandu, try it if you haven’t already

Well this restaurant in tonbridge wells was a little find from the outside it’s ok but hides the coulinary delights that awaits, real charcoal grill it’s Indian food with a modern twist and it works I will most definitely come back again

This is such an amazing spot - probably the best restaurant in Tonbridge. The staff are so kind and amazing. The food is really not pricey around £10/11 for a curry , but seriously delicious

Organised a large takeaway for a family group. The restaurant couldn’t have been more helpful making sure everything was taken care of and ready on time. Food was delicious, plentiful and great value. We will definitely do this again.

I have eaten here a few times over the last couple of months and have been really pleased. Their curries are fragrant and delicious, there is a good range of choices and the staff are always courteous and efficient.

Having eaten in the Restaurant previously I was expecting a high standard of food. What I received was bland and fairly tasteless.

Went here for my husbands birthday. Asked if the could do a birthday pudding and they bought a whole cake with candles and sang him happy birthday. Amazing food. Massive portions and such lovely staff. Highly recommend

Really one of the best restaurants in Tonbridge! The food is authentic, fantastic flavour and well presented. Eating in the restaurant there’s always great service and for takeaway the food always arrives hot and you most often get a few freebies thrown in as well. There are so many dishes that I can recommend but the key highlights are the Chicken Momos and dipping sauce, the Himalayan Curry and the Chicken Saag with Mushrooms ... for vegetarian , try the Chana Masala or the Saag Paneer (other reviewers agree !)

We had our first takeaway order from here tonight and it was fab. We are a family of 5 and all the food was hot and delicious. We'll definitely be ordering again.

Yesterday was our 47th wedding anniversary so due to covid wanted a nice meal delivered. We have eaten in here before and thoroughly enjoyed all our food so thought this is what we want. Can’t fault the ordering or the delivery at all but what was delivered was so poor mine went into the bin. We ordered lamb chops. They were so tough we couldn’t cut them,we couldn’t chew them either. They had been cooked hours before and been heated up. It’s such a shame as we were so looking forward to it and as we had eaten here before we didn’t expect this. Has made me think twice befor ordering again.

I love the food from here and the staff are efficient and friendly, service with a smile.The Lamb Rogan Josh is my favourite dish and they cook it to perfection every time, add to the fluffy, tasty nan break and perfectly cooked rice and the meal is perfection.

As always to have tradition food I would like to go or order food from Kathmandu valley restaurant. Delicious food. Sherpa chicken gives pure Nepalese traditions food.. friendly staff, good service.

We were spending a couple of days in Tonbridge and not knowing any good eating places, we looked at other reviews for help and decided on this restaurant based on these.We were only one of three tables, not unusual for a Monday night, but that wasn’t a problem for us as that meant it was easy to socially distance!The tables all had their own small bottle of hand sanitiser and we were served with drinks and poppadoms really quickly by a really pleasant lady in mask, apron and gloves so we were confident that they were taking things seriously. Our main meals arrived and were hot ( temperature wise) with good sized portions. My husband had chicken dansak and I had chicken saag which is my favourite. I can hand on heart say that it was the best one I have ever had, really tasty with huge soft chunks of chicken and a delicious spinach sauce with mushrooms. My husband has dansak in every Indian restaurant we visit (!) and he also said that this was also one of the best he has had. I normally struggle to finish curries in a restaurant, but I was not leaving any of this deliciousness!All in all an excellent experience. We will be back if we are down that way again.

I love the vegan choices and regularly order a takeaway for my partner and I, the food is always fresh and the portion size is good. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to vegans and non vegans alike.

I note the percentage of "Excellent" reviews and wonder my takeaway meal fell far from being good.All four of us felt our choices were bland in taste. Of particular concern was my own Lamb Rogan Josh. The sauce was more akin to a slightly spiced gravy. The "meat" was generous but l would never have identified it as Lamb if l was blind tasting it.The texture and taste would have me opting for a cheap cut of stewing steak.Disappointed overall and very disappointed that our experience wasn't the same as the majority of reviewers on here.

I reviewed over a year ago but so many places change their food quality, but Kathmandu certainly hasn't. We had a couple of takeways during lockdown and I always think takeaway from a restaurant is never as good, but here it was. As soon as they opened it was the first place we wanted to visit and have pretty much been weekly regulars. The food is great quality and the service is fantastic and always with a smile (well I think so behind the mask!). Thanks guys and gals.

The staff are very dismissive and the chicken is not cooked, weird atmosphere and dont no why this restaurant is highly spoken of, many other Indians in tonbridge high street that you should go. Avoid

Ordered the chicken vindaloo and Bismati rice with 2 popadums for collection. Ready within the 20 minutes they committed to on the phone order. Think they threw in an extra poppadum for free with a dip. Portion size more than sufficient for one. Just over 12 pounds excellent value. Will order again as quality was excellent.

What a great find! To be fair, I'd have probably walked past without going in because it looked a bit empty on a Sunday lunchtime, but I relied on previous TripAdvisor & Google comments and I was not disappointed. Tasty & hot (temperature) food, excellent value for money served with care & politeness and finished off with the most novel hot finger/hand towel I've seen in a while. There is a huge choice of vegetarian & non vegetarian dishes. And several beers to choose from.

This was our first time here and would not be going back, we ordered a chicken Balti which was hard and rubbery in which we complained, makes us think where they get there produce from?? It was like they had not had a complaint before as they were in shock and said they would take it off the bill even though this completely ruined our meal and evening. We eat balti all the time and this was not right!! There are 2 other indian/Nepal restaurants in tonbridge high street which are lovely and we will be returning back to them.Do not go here!!!

A very nice evening with friends in a very friendly environment, the food was very good along with the service, we don’t actually live in this area so had to pick a restaurant from reading trip advisor and I must say we weren’t disappointed. The only negative I would mention was the price, that although not astronomic was 20% higher than we’d normally pay at our regular restaurant but all in all very good.

Went here for the first time with some friends and found the varied menu interesting and a little different from the usual .Service was fine and the food was lovely, the table against the wall was a little small for four people, but overall experience was very nice.We will return when we are in the area !

My family and I decided to have a meal here after hearing about their vegan options. We were not disappointed the staff are really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good and tasted fresh. Would definitely recommend and the price was very reasonable.

The food here was really good, beautifully flavoured dishes and nicely presented in white bowls. The staff were very friendly and the ambiance was good though we were early and it was quite quiet. We would definitely eat here again.

Popped in while walking through high street,was Friday ,were 3 of us,chicken momo was the best I ever had,specially the sauce yummy,himalaya curry lamb and salmon makhani were our mains,as Mr Ram recommended us,they were correct choice ,service was prompt with perfect ambiance,highly impressed,would recommend and would be back again.

We were a large group of guys occupying about 2/3 of the restaurant. We had a fixed price menu with five choices each for starters and main. The food was good and the service was excellent. Very well organised and a great evening. Thanks to all the staff.

I popped in early on a midweek evening, it started off quiet but soon picked up. The staff couldn't have been nicer and explained what would be a good representation of the culture. Very nice place and highly recommend.

Have eaten here a couple of times with work colleagues, the food is good and they do a few different things you don’t see often. I had a Jungle curry last time, nice and hot. Had a madras before that. Food is very good and very well presented.

Read lots of positive reviews and decided to try it. We usually go to a well know Indian takeaway with restaurants in Tudeley and Hildenborough but Kathmandu will probably our new favourite. The girl who took our telephone order was polite and friendly and asked if we had any allergies which we don't. The food was ready in 25 mins for collection and we benefitted from a 10% discount for coming to get it. I was offered a free complimentary soft drink to take away when I went to get the food and both members of staff were smiley and welcoming.

An absolutely fantastic curry house! After searching for what seemed like an eternity to find the best takeaway curry in Tonbridge, Kathmandu Valley did not disappoint. Very reasonably priced and after being told it would take likely 45 minutes to an hour for delivery (which is standard for a Saturday night takeaway) the food arrived within 20 minutes and was probably the freshest takeaway I’ve had.

I walked into Kathmandu Valley and was immediately transported to the Himalayas. Not literally, such was the beauty of the Nepalese decor within. The service delivered by the staff member was humble, accommodating and caring.

Visited recently for the very first time and have to say we all had a great meal, everything was really tasty and the service was excellent, we will be returning.

We ate here on Easter Sunday and the food was delicious. We had the chicken Himalayan curry and the chicken base camp with rice, exquisite flavours. The beer and wine was good too. Service excellent. We shall return.

This restaurant far exceeded our expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding! The butter chicken was exceptional, the lamb vindaloo was very spicy and just what we wanted and the tikka masala was delightful! Try the garlic naan - sure to please. We left very happy and full. The flavours were tremendous.

The food as always was excellent. It does lack a little atmosphere as there were only 4 tables with 10 customers in total although eating in the restaurant with a gradual stream of people coming in for take away

The food was delicious and fresh and it's great that they have lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. The staff are all very friendly and give great service.

It's probably my fourth or fifth visit to this fantastic Nepalese restaurant and takeaway and I reckon it's some of the best food in Tonbridge. It always surprises me how it's not packed like Havet but I suppose there's a lot of competition if you think of it as Indian but for me this is so much tastier, fresher and more imaginative. Love the momos in particular. If you haven't been, you really ought to, or grab a takeaway.

Six of us came for my birthday, having read positive reviews. The visit didn't start well when we arrived and found our booking actually crossed out in the book. The managed to accommodate us however. The food was excellent, really no complaints there, but service was very slow. We were also surprised at the prices of drinks (food was reasonable). The cheapest wine was about £20.

There's a bit of a premium at this place for quality Nepalese food but worth it. The food is beyond what you would expect for a typical curry, with plenty of traditional Nepalese dishes.

I found myself in Tonbridge Kent for work that was much livelier than other surrounding Kent towns I had visited in the recent past. I had a wonderful welcome and meal at the local Nepalese restaurant in the High Street Kathmandu Valley. Base Camp Chicken ... spicy and delicious, other Nepalese dishes mixed with Northern Indian Tandoori dishes. Good service ... well worth a visit .

A small restaurant which was quiet when we arrived but we were made very welcome. The food was excellent and very good value for money. I had a Nepalese Fish Curry which I didn’t want to end. We look forward to returning.

Second time ordering a takeaway... Dishes were ok but I found really expensive for what you get as pretty much the same as the local Indian who are quite a bit cheaper and as just as good as your dishes... I don't think I'll be ordering again unless you decrease your prices.

First time takeaway, I have to say the dishes were lovely only negatives were small portions and very stingy with the chicken on a main chicken dish at the quite dear prices I would expect more generous portions. But I will be back for more of the delish food.

This is one of those places where if someone invites you, you’ll have a nice time and won’t regret it, but off your own back it’s overpriced and nothing special. Was nice when it first opened, but price of overall bill has gone up since. Also, ambience used to be good with great authentic music, but on our last visit you could’ve heard a pin drop. For the money, there are too many other places to go. If the bill was half the price l’d be a regular. For context, two starters, two curries, one rice and one bread, plus two beers was £60 (no poppadoms or other extras). Speaks volumes that at peak time on a Saturday night there was only one other table of diners in the whole restaurant.

Vegetarian Togan Josh - very tasty and more than enough of it. Service prompt and polite, without being pushy. £50 for 2 mains, drinks and papadums - reasonable enough.

How is it possible for this gem not to be packed every night?! Delicious at every level: fresh, perfectly cooked, spiced and all delivered by friendly, not overly attentive staff. It must also be said, how lovely to eat to the sounds of true Nepalese music, a lovely atmosphere, a lovely evening. Come on Tonbridge people, you're missing out.

Delicious food. The Paneer shahi and Nepali fish curry were really good. Delivered on time and still warm.

Very late in delivering. the restaurant said it was fault of just eat not putting the order through on time , the restaurant was not at fault.

We dine here often as the food is superb and the staff are wonderfully friendly. I have not tasted better Indian food anywhere else. I particularly recommend the lamb rogan josh, peshwari naan, saag bahji and chicken jalfrezi. We just can’t keep away! The restaurant is very cosy with lots of pictures of the Himalayas.

We ordered a range of dishes from Katmandu as a take away. All dishes were excellent - especially the Pashwari Naan!

best Indian ever!! food was hot on arrival and best dahl I’ve ever had! all the food was super flavoursome and beautifully cooked.

Driver got lost, didn’t phone until they’d got back the restaurant 25 minutes later to ask for directions. Had to persuade the restaurant send it out again straight away - they wanted to wait another hour. Finally turned up 45-50 mins late. The food itself was excellent though.

First visit to restaurant, enjoyed great food and made to feel welcome. Was not rushed. Service and food was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Used to go to the restaurant a while ago and it was always very good. Went there on Saturday night and it has got to be the worst Indian meal I have ever eaten in 40 years. We ordered the mixed grill and keema naan,when it was served it was a bowl of rice with a few bits of chicken and prawns in it. The keema man had no filling at all so complained to the waiter and he went back to the kitchen and bought two more which were exactly the same, we complained again and showed him the inside and he pointed to a sprinkling of brown dust and said this was the filling. When we said it was supposed to be meat he agreed not to charge us for the breads.

Food arrived on time and piping hot. Cheerful delivery man, in spite of being very busy!

Hmm - not sure this place lives up to the ratings it gets here and on Google. It was OK, don't get me wrong, but I have had better. It was a Friday night and the place was almost empty - this says something to me. Service very good and attentive. The food was hot and tasty but the places lacks 'something". If you want a better night out in Tonbridge I'd suggest you look about a bit. I found it quite expensive, too.

A lovely meal out! The highlight dish for my husband and I were the momos which I highly recommend. The main was very nice although next time i will definitely be trying more of the Nepali dishes which I saw being served to other tables. The atmosphere was very vibrant as it was quite busy and I will definitely bring the kids along next time as our waitor encouraged us :)

Knowing we were coming back to Tonbridge i was looking forward to trying Kathmandu Valley as we couldn’t fit it in previously. We were mot disappointed! Starters of Momo and chicken choyla were fabulous, the choyla in particular had flavours I don’t recall having before. Mains of kukhura aloo and garlic kurkhura were just as good. Service was faultless too. Including 2 bottles of wine it came to £102, and was worth it too.

We've been coming to Arjen's (sp?) restaurant for some time now. The food is consistently first class. Great service, nice experience. Really good serving staff. Thoroughly recommended. In a desert of mediocre Indian restaurants around Tonbridge, this is an utter oasis of excellent quality food.

In Tonbridge for an evening course, needed a quick meal... was heading for a fast food outlet.. spotted this restaurant... explained that on a tight timeline...gentleman made sure my food served quickly even though I ordered one of the Nepalese specials. Food was very tasty and I was well looked after. I will bring my family back and with more time to explore the menu.... thank you sir for saving me from the fast food outlet.

I came here with my family for my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. This restaurant has a lovely homely atmosphere, with delicious dishes from fresh ingredients, presented in a simple manner. The owner was our server and he very friendly and helpful. Service was ideal and we were able to take our time over dinner. The naan bread was so soft and yummy!

Four of us decided to try out this indo-Nepalese restaurant, which had been recommended to us by several friends. Our visit was on a damp Wednesday evening, when few people were out and about.

Decided to treat myself to lunch and the menu looks great. Very nice waiter.

Recently visited with friends and was impressed by the quality of service and dining environment. I’m happy enough with the quality of the food and value for money, but based on the reviews I’ve read was actually a little underwhelmed. But I will be visiting again for sure.

We came here for my dad's birthday on Easter Monday and the staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious - would highly recommend!!! We were the last ones in the restaurant and they said we could stay for as long as we wanted!

We went to the KV earlier this week with family. Two of us are vegan and cannot always eat in conventional Indians if everything is cooked in ghee. This place was just what we needed. The range of vegan and meat options is varied with some unusual dishes. The portions were of a good size and the standard of cooking was superb. Service was excellent although being a Monday night was quite. Would highly recommend this place and will be returning in the near future. Good selection of wines and beers and everything was reasonably priced. Keep up the good work KV! And thank you.
