Brewers Fayre Ocean Plaza in Sefton

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The staff clearly don’t care. We waited about 15 minutes at the bar to order because the bartender was taking both food and drink orders simultaneously. The steak was blue when we ordered it medium, so we had to send it back. By the time the replacement came, our mains were already finished, so it didn’t get eaten. For some unknown reason, the staff cleared half of our plates and only realized there was more left when they brought out our desserts. The kids' meals are absolutely disgraceful—five pieces of chicken and about six chips for £6.50. The kids' desserts were awful too—a tiny scotch pancake cut into four pieces with the smallest bit of ice cream and sauce. Finally, the cheesecake is the worst I have ever had. It was clearly frozen and then defrosted, with a weird scrambled egg-like texture. Do not visit here; it was the worst waste of £80 ever.

The food is good and prices are very reasonable but what makes this place outstanding is the staff they are so helpful and actually listen to you this goes right from the manager to wait staff and chefs top class

Fantastic service by Martin and Christine , I had sirloin steak it was lovely hubby had the platter both well worth the money .

Visited for lunch while visiting Southport. Great location and you can park nearby and it’s not far from the Promenade. Reasonably priced food and tasty food.

It's a comfortable place for a pub meal located halfway between town and beach with a friendly welcome and service. The food was good and plenty for us. We were there before 6 pm and so had the "2 meals for £11.99" offer.

Great place for a meal with soft play for the kids till 8pm fast service and good food. I had mixed grill kids had 3 course meal for £6.49 plus drink Refillable soft drinks £3.50 each.

We went in for breakfast, 4 of us, and it cost just short of £22. I thought they'd made a mistake thinking we were Premier Inn guests, but no, the price was correct for 2 adults and 2 children, even the 15 year old boy who can eat like a horse. Cooked breakfast, cereals, toast, crumpets, yoghurts, fruit, hot and cold drinks and refills all included. The staff were welcoming and we all left very happy. This was on Thursday 8th August.

Absolutely atrocious! Can’t even get the basics right I mean how difficult is it to read an order in the kitchen then deliver that order?? Don’t bother complaining to female staff just look at you like it’s your fault clearly have some serious attitude problems in this place! One male manager was polite enough but the females shouldn’t be anywhere near customer service! Lesson for you ladies if you can’t get it right don’t bu surprised when people complain! More importantly learn to apologise and stop being so bitter! You made the mistakes not us!

The staff here are fantastic, everyone we spoke to was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty, hot and there’s plenty of choice. Particular thanks to Freya for helping us locate something we had lost she went out of her way to anger in touch with us which was genuinely appreciated.

My husband and I had a lovely meal at this restaurant, the staff where very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we had a 40% off mains voucher to be used by 11 April. We went on the 11 April to be told we could not use the voucher as it was passed 18.30. On our bill it was timed 18.24, they said we could not use it. This was not stated must be used by 18.30 on the voucher. Although we really enjoyed our meal we where disappointed that we couldn't use our voucher.

Went today for early evening meal 2 adults 1 child. Food ok nothing special , over priced. Had the usual. Asks ..can we have cutlery for l our little one ,we asked for chairs at one point too then hunted for another chair for 3 yrs old. Our meal was Disturbed, by the manger........for the day to explain in front of everyone about a un paid fruit shoot £1.85 p. After spending £40. We sorted it all during and after our meal . The meal and outing was ruined by this abrupt unprofessional questioning. In front of family and other customers. Mia our waitress was lovely. Unprofessional senior staff, misunderstanding. Checked by CCTV and then the q and a at our table. Never go again. I will write to head office. It's not restaurant or good pub grub. It's unprofessional, below average food, with very tired tables , upholstery stained old and carpets well warn. Do not eat or children's play here. Food far better in play town over the road, I wish we had stayed there better food servos clean friendly. And no q and a whole eating. Give this expensive tired unprofessional eatery a big miss.

We have eaten here a few times recently, midweek and at a weekend, and have been very impressed with the food and staff. One Saturday we visited there was a kids party on and the restaurant was really busy with other diners too. Dani and her team coped amazingly well. The food was still served in a timely manner; it was hot and very enjoyable. Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff for your hard work and friendly, helpful manner.

Got taken here for Mother’s Day lunch, was super busy but couldn’t fault anything, the lovely lady on the bar Kiera was a delight and so we’re all the other staff, food was hot and tasty, all the staff were smiley and super helpful, had such a lovely time

Came here at 2oclock with my Son & Granddaughter and both service and food were awful. Without a doubt the worst meal I’ve ever had. If I’d have been the server I’d have been embarrassed to take that to the table.Even my 2 year old Granddaughter refused her meal. Very disappointed. No offer of refund either.

Awful!! We regularly came here but last three times the orders have been wrong and the staff attitudes are terrible especially the females!!! This visit couldn’t even get two kids meals right I mean how difficult is it to input two children’s kids meals and then deliver what’s been ordered! Cheese onion pie was disgusting apparently it’s vegan but didn’t state vegan although did have a symbol apparently! Obviously my fault for not knowing the vegan symbol then to top it off when you’ve complained you then hear the stuck up blonde lady speaking about you to another staff member! If you could do your job properly and give what was ordered then wouldn’t be an issue! Then asked to cancel the Mother’s Day booking for 6 we made earlier to have another female look at us in disgust like we were asking for a refund or something erm sorry I’m not going to stand around begging for a refund and at no point did I ask for one or expect one! If you got the orders right to start with we’d have no reason to complain!

Over from Huddlefuddle for a nice meal and tribute singer at the Auberge are we are stopping over - having refreshments at the Brewers Fayre and having a very pleasant experience, food is hot and tasty and reasonably priced too ! Impressive and deffo eat here again ! Special thanks to M. Finlay the guy who served us, pleasant, helpful, funny and highly professional throughout and added a smile to our visit !

Lovely break away. Hotel was clean and very convenient and the restaurant where you had breakfast was perfect for what we wanted. Loads of choice and drinks also.

I cannot fault the Brewers Fayre here at Southport. The food was always hot and served quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive, always had time for a chat, and a laugh with you. I was in the adjoining Hotel for 2 months for work, and ate all of my meals here. They are well prepared, homely, and very tasty. Thank you one and all.

I ordered the cheese and bacon burger. Service was quick and my 1/4lb steak burger also came with fries and coleslaw. You have to order and pay at the till when ordering food. I was pleased with my order and the venue is consistently good.

We had tea and breakfast here. Food was amazing, especiallythe breakfast. Service was brilliant. My only negative is that the smoking area like most of these restaurants are at the entry door, we had to walk through a cloud of smoke. There is a softplay here.

Me and my children visit here frequently, we tend to come on a Sunday for the carvery. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, the atmosphere is lovely and the food is always perfect and served quickly if you’re ordering from the menu. I have also visited for breakfast a few times too. The breakfast is always lovely and there is a wide selection of options on offer. I’d recommend to anyone, it’s a fantastic, family friendly place to be!

Had a super evening meal. The service was excellent from Bryan, Martin, Keira and Sam. Would highly recommend the Beef and Ale pie with skin on fries - delicious.

If you’re looking for good food at a great price with friendly service then this is the place to go, I don’t eat out that often, but when I do I normally head here as it has something for everyone, we’ve never had a bad meal here, you wont be disappointed that’s for sure.

Don't pay by credit card here! Bought 2 meals for £10.99 on the weekday lunchtime deal, plus drinks. 10 days later Brewers Fayre took a further £10.99 from my credit card account. I only noticed this because I have my credit card's App on my phone, and my phone pings when I spend money. I spent £10.99 at Southport Brewer's Fayre from my armchair at home! I informed the restaurant at the time. They blamed "head office" and I was reassured they would get back to me, but nothing happened. I was eventually able to claim the money back from my credit card, but this was a hassle. Why are Brewers Fayre acting like petty theives? We were regulars for years at this restaurant, but we won't be returning. Shame!

Food was fine. Service was ok. What I am very annoyed about is being charged twice for a breakfast. Having spoke to not one but two duty managers and promised that my refund would be back in my account in 48 hours and I would receive a phone call, I still haven’t received either. The surprising thing was being told “this happens and we don’t know why”. I think maybe you should look into why people are being charged double. Has put me off returning despite enjoying the meal.

I came here today with my family and couldn’t thank the manager Rosie enough for all she did for me and my family she helped me with one of my kids who is gluten free helping with all food options to top it all off her attitude for work was excellent and she carried a contagious smile with her the whole time we were dining

I come here today for a dinner with my family, it was an all round fantastic experience which i can only give praise to the amazing manager Rosie who couldnt do enough for us and made our night an amazing experience. Rosie well done!

Booked the private room for my grandsons 18th birthday 14/10/23 We were a party of 30 people Ground floor with easy access, the surroundings and facilities were very clean The staff were very friendly, and professional. The restaurant was very busy, but this did not effect the excellent service we received. The menu choices were excellent to suit all tastes. The prices very reasonable . The food was served well cooked and served hot. Thank you for making my grandsons 18th very special

As a fairly regular diner at Brewer’s Fayre, Ocean Plaza, with both friends and family, praise to the staff for their excellent service. The food is always presented well and nothing is too much trouble. The menu changes on a regular basis and there’s something for everyone. Special mention to Finley, who we witnessed this evening, dealing with a tricky situation in a very professional way. Looking forward to our next visit already :-)

The staff are lovely but sadly the food was very disappointing. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and enjoyed it. I am aware of the cost of living at this present moment in time. But this should not effect the quality of the food and presentation. Cheeseburger meal with extra burger purchased was over cooked, fries warmed up. Smothered chicken dry hardly any cheese, fries warmed up. No coleslaw or salad. Had these meals on other occasions with no complaints. What on earth has happened. Enough said.
