Brewers Fayre Inn On The Quay in Torbay

Went for what we thought would be a nice meal in a nice setting to celebrate a birthday whilst on holiday , how wrong can you be???.The properties wi go was playing up from the start along with its internet,meaning getting the “Blue Light” site was very difficult. Meal was one of the worst we have ever had only matched by the equally Abysmal service, food just matched everything about the place that nobody could be bothered and just slop it on a plate VW.Although dessert had to be ordered at same time as starter and mains we were left waiting that long after the mains were cleared we had to call for the manager,after already asking a waitresses.The manager was deeply apologetic and refunded the cost of the desserts,if I were him I would be embarrassed by the standards of that restaurant.A birthday totally ruined and we will never visit BrewersFayre again.

Came in for a few drinks and some food. Yummy pizza and chicken goujons. Friendly staff and quick service. Lovely to sit by the sea for a nightcap.

Got to give credit where it’s due, we stopped in for an impromptu carvery and was not disappointed! £11.99 for an adults carvery - cheapest I’ve seen for a very long time. Food was immense, meats were well cooked and flavourful, banging crispy roasties, all the veg you could want and then cauliflower cheese and potato dauphinois!!! Shout out to the meat carver chap, super friendly and engaging - as were all staff we encountered! Easily worthy of 5stars and we look forward to coming back!

Not very dog friendly as you have to sit outside (don't have a problem with that as weather was dry) but you have to order from the "garden" menu vastly reduced choice, all lunchtime offers not available.

After an earlier visit to Goodrington sands a few days prior, we decided to have our evening meal at this large Brewers farye pub, on the beach front. Getting there before 18.00hrs allowed us to choose from the specials menu, and after ordering the meal turned up in good time. Even though it was on offer the portion was of a good size and presented well. We went for the smoothed chicken and katsu curry and felt comfortably full on complatoon. There is a car park attached to the inn and if used you will require a qr code from the staff on leaving to register for the free parking, easily done at the external kiosk.

Oh my goodness. I know there is always a lower level of expectation at an unlimited breakfast, but it didn’t even reach that! We had our dog with us, so again I understand the dining experience isn’t going to be top notch. HOWEVER, we looked at the outside eating area and there was cigarette ends and empty sachets everywhere, non of the tables had been wiped from the day before and there were tablets on the floor. Had to clean up the floor before I could let my dog in. Food was lower than average, food left out on the side was stale. Entrance to the pub reeked of urine from the toilets. Staff again, a little rude and unwelcoming. To say it’s a similar price to a normal dine in breakfast it was a little disappointing from start to finish.

Went for a roast. Well greeted by Moses. Happy smiley welcome. Food was great value and it certainly was the best roast on the coast. Will be recommending to friends and family.

Went here yesterday (24/06/2024) for dinner with my family. I order sirloin steak, chips, peas and onion rings. My steak was dripping in fat, my peas were swimming abd my chips and onion rings were well overcooked. My husband did complain and was told that our complaint would be passed onto the chef and that was the end of that. Customer service was poor. The toilets were absolutely disgusting. You smelt them before you saw them. Would not recomend eating here at all.

Decent pub grub (chicken burger and mac & cheese balls) in the beer garden, unlimited coffee refills and also dog friendly too! Quite busy with lots queuing for the Sunday carvery.

During our week stay at the adjoined Premier Inn we had breakfast here. There was an absolutely fantastic selection of food and the staff (a woman with blonde, shoulder length hair in particular) were so nice and friendly! Highly recommend!

First time at this Brewers Fayre and very impressed, first class service from Aleasha and Lilly. Very busy as Bank Holiday Saturday but lots of people were served and fed in good time and the staff compared to other Brewers Fayres we visit regularly were efficient and although 7 people in front of us to order food and drinks at the bar we only waited 6/7 minutes Mains were all good, well presented, hot and full of flavour and even the fussy grandchildren had clean plated. After waiting a few minutes for our desserts we mentioned to the lovely female manager we were ready for our deserts at table 7 and they soon followed again all 6 were different but first class and we requested slight changes to a couple and that was done perfectly. Highly recommend and when you go a few times they start sending you decent vouchers for discounts which are very welcome when there are 6 of us

We were welcomed by a lovely lady called aliesha, we were happy with the wait times and food came very quickly, we saw aliesha deal with a difficult customer very professionally. Our whole experience from bar staff, manager and the host was amazing. We had a great experience and will happily continue coming

We are at arrived 22nd March around 5pm and the place was not busy . On arrival after a wait were met by a lady who didn't even make eye contact. She seemed to be put out by our presence despite us having a table reserved .we orded food at the bar with no queue from the same lady who was monosyllabic in saying no when we asked for food items off the menu the food was decent and came quickly with a different lady who was much friendlier.. unfortunately the first lady has not done the the establishment any favours and we we will definitely rethink any future visit.

Very hit and miss We have eaten here a number of times recently but there have been some issues Firstly, ensure you get your car parking slip from the staff when you order, it’s not worth the fine! On two different occasions we had to send food back as it was cold, not lukewarm, it tasted literally uncooked. The queuing system is terrible, at most only 2 people are serving drinks and food which makes for a long wait. The last occasion we visited it seemed like they had delivery issues as lots of food and drinks that were out of stock which was very disappointing. Can’t fault the staff, they were helpful and apologetic. The issues are clearly not their fault. They were clearly overworked and under appreciated

Busy and bar under staffed. Long queues for food and drinks. Ordered a starter to "test the waters" and a beer. Beer nice, had to leave the food. Ordered a Cheese-Topped Potato Dippers. Potato dippers are rebranded oven chips. No sign of mozzarella and if you like curdled sour cream this is for you. Bar was so busy i couldn't be bothered to claim my £5 back. Sad times.

What a nightmare, queues massive, one serving drinks, one serving carvery. Managed to get a pint of flat beer and a coffee cup for nearly £9 after queuing at least 15 minutes. Both coffee machines ran out of coffee and with only two staff no one knew where the coffee beans were, so went home.

Fab Carvery, we eat here a lot. I always book a table and so far our requests have always been accommodated and every time we are asked if there are any allergy requirements. The Hostess is friendly! The carvery is always hot and a choice of 3 meats, the Chef Moses is an absolute Legend, warm and welcoming to everyone, he's also an excellent chef. Lots of choice of veg, tasty gravy, roast potatoes and huge yorkie puds, great value at £11.49. We had re-fillable coke's which is great as you can re-fill as many times as you like along with other drinks like Fanta etc. I told the Barman the ice wasn't working and he apologised and immediately offered me some from behind the bar. Free parking for 3 hrs too and amazing location right next to the beach. Highly recommended we'll see you again soon! - Michele & Barry Earp.

We had family visiting us over the Easter bank holiday weekend, so of course that means a couple of visits to our favourite Brewers Fayre. We visited as a family of 6 (5 adults & 1 teenager) & as always greeted with a friendly smile & shown to our table. On the Thursday evening before Good Friday between us we enjoyed the smothered chicken, gammon, fish & chips, chicken goujons, a smothered platter & a pasta dish. Food arrived quickly & as usual was excellent. We booked again for Easter Sunday, the carvery chef Moses is a joy to speak with. Choice of beef, gammon or turkey, then help yourself to Yorkshire puddings, parsnips, roast potatoes & mash etc. We all really enjoyed the carvery, the family members who had never met Moses before commented on how it was a pleasure to speak with someone who clearly enjoyed what they did. We have eaten here dozens of times & the entire team are always friendly & helpful, one of the many reasons we keep coming back.

We have been here weekly for the past 2 years & have noticed a deterioration in both food & drinks. Firstly Doom Bar ale has been transferred to the cooled cellar & is served too cold, which kills all its flavour. On our last 2 visits the other cask ale - Tribute, was either unavailable or cloudy. We usually chose from the ‘2 meal offer’ menu & we’ve noticed that recently that the portion of chips has been almost halved! Also the offer to upgrade the Fish & Chips is no longer available. The staff are friendly & helpful & the location is fabulous, but sadly as the food & drinks quality have plummeted, unless things improve, we’ll be forced to go elsewhere. 😢

Absolute disaster. We arrived at booked time of 10am to find no mugs for drinks,pastries,staff serving on counter, fresh eggs, milk in coffee machine or anybody apparently in charge. Staff were utterly swamped but this did not excuse their offhand & rude responses to enquiries. So far, complaint to customer service has got no response after 5 days. We spent over £50 and got no enjoyment. Food here has never been very good but this was the last straw - go somewhere else!

Not a good experience and quite concerning. Numerous tables covered with uncleared plates of leftover food. The place was absolutely disgusting. This is a health hazard and this place needs an urgent visit from food hygiene agency. Extremely hard to find any staff.

Omg don’t waste your money!! We went for all you can eat breakfast but it’s not good!! We was staying in a campsite up the road and was recommended this by a local and it’s was the worst thing I have ever put in my stomach!? It was cold, dry and just disgusting!! NOT COMING BACK

We stayed at the premier inn so decided to have breakfast here and it was the best premier inn breakfast I've ever experienced. Such an amazing and delicious Sunday carvery! Food was absolutely amazing however we received some OUTSTANDING customer service from a young lady of the name of Kiki. She was very friendly, polite and welcoming. Always had a smile and happy to help. Couldn’t recommend enough you really made are Sunday Dinner! Thank you to Kiki for going above and beyond!

We visited goodrington Brewers Fayre (Inn on the ) today for their very popular Sunday lunch.We were greeted and after sanitising our hands and using the NHS app to check in, we were very promptly shown to our table.Our table was spacious and clean and a safe distance from other tables.James was our waiter throughout our meal and was very patient, polite and helpful. He showed excellent interpersonal skills, interacting very well will both the young and older members of our family. Nothing was too much trouble, and there was lots of requests from different sauces, extra dishes, gravy and roasters to many refills of our drinks. The roast was, as always a good size cooked to a high standard and served nice and hot. There was a choice of beef, gammon or turkey which you could mix if you chose, upgrading for an extra £1 for a larger plate (all adults did this in our group)..... Absolute bargain! Everyone left full and very happy See you next Sunday!

Lovely place to eat/ drink, Bradley the Mayer (I assume) took great care in ensuring all his staff were spread out to appropriate areas where required. Beautiful sunshine and despite gale force winds we all greatly enjoyed our beer battered fish with chips and peas, so lovely to have a pub lunch at last. We were served by Aliesha who was very friendly and helpful and the whole experience was very enjoyable.

We haven't lived in Goodrington very long, and have now visited this restaurant three times. Each time we have been impressed by the friendly staff, the tasty food and excellent value for money.The Quay Inn is clean and comfortable and feels most Vivid safe.Last night we were served by Brad and Jack both of whom like all the other staff we've met we're curtious, efficient and helpful. Very happy to recommend Brewers fayre, Inn on the Quay Goodrington.Thank you all.

It made a lovely change to be able to go out and do something different so a meal at the Inn on the Quay seemed a good idea as it is a regular of ours and my family over the years. Jenna our waitress was lovely and very polite, the food great so overall we enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back before Christmas.

Absolutely brilliant visit! The staff are absolutely lovely, every single one of them. All such lovely people, so friendly and helpful, especially Lisa.We stayed at the premier inn next door and had all of our meals and breakfasts here over the three days. The breakfasts were all steaming hot and fresh and very nice! The dinners were also amazing value and the food was delicious! The portions on the 2 for £8.99 menu were massive and delicious! My daughter & I stopped off for lunch yesterday after a lovely walk from Paignton to Goodrington. We were found a table promptly and served by Lisa. The poor girl was run ragged because of staff absences but was always very polite even when the table was very rude to her. We enjoyed our meal and set us up for the return walk back in the rain. Thank you Lisa for making us feel welcome.

Went there several times during our stay at Paignton. Enjoyed all the meals and drinks, very good and friendly staff during these troubled times. The menu is excellent and keep an eye open for the specials, great value for money
