Brewers Fayre Gordano Gate in North Somerset

The dining staff completely ignored my presence, so much so that I had to get up and ask at the bar for the pudding to be served. Their either need to train their staff to look the part and act the part or give up. Breakfast the following morning was similar, I had three staff not 4 feet from my table discussing their shift patterns at the top of their voices. I should have got up and asked them politely to move their discussions away from the paying guests but I did not.

Absolutely brilliant service and really helpful staff especially the lady who met us at the door to show us to our table, we had the little ones with us we wanted to take to soft play and the lady was so helpful in getting us a table right next to it which the little ones loved , great food to the gammon chips and peas was excellent and the refillable drinks fantastic , overall excellent staff in restaurant and soft play , it’s nice to see there still is great service about, and great food tI highly recommend to families .

Coffee machine out of order but this was not mentioned on arrival! Instant coffee not great.Table was sticky. Long queue’s for hot food, trays constantly emptied then had to wait for them to be refilled. Ran out glasses for juice. Waitress took away plates and I asked for more cutlery, she then gave me back all our used cutlery from the pile of plates she was about to take away!!!

Really enjoyed the breakfast here. Great value, lots of choice. All the food was tasty and hot. Great orange juice and coffee. Staff were lovely and helpful. We really enjoyed our breakfast and will be back soon. The other menus for lunch and dinner looked good, Great value.

What a waste of time.. Gave it one star because the was nothing left to rate it. No soft drink/ mixers.e.g bitter lemon,tonic water.Ok went for ginger beer. Food order.First choice no! ,fair enough.Second choice,third choice,fourth choice NO. Burgers and Pizza were in plentiful supply. Spoke to manageress quietly, she said " we have problems with suppliers" Shut up!! that went out with covid. WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.

The staff were delightful…. I’m unsure who writes the menu descriptions but they certainly have a real knack for the use of adjectives …. I had the chicken pie although I can’t remember how the menu described it it sounded totally delicious with much sauce in the pie and mouth watering! It was none of these things a large plate with a small round pie, tinned peas and chips … the portion was small and beige! It desperately needed a gravy just something …. I so wanted to enjoy it but it was just not what it claimed to be on the menu and at £12 + very disappointed ….

Came in for breakfast on Saturday to be greeted by a lovely manager, the service was amazing and the food you couldn’t fault it at all, for 10.99 unlimited breakie to me is an absolutely bargain! Georgia we will be back:) Thankyou again!! X

A great two course meal - beautifully prepared starters - the chicken wings were succulent , the two steaks perfectly cooked . This is not fine dining but excellent value and plant of choice with staff who are helpful.

Ordered salad served in a very warm dish which caused some of the salad leaves to wilt. when I asked the table server why served in a warm dish, his comments were that is the chef for you. Having used this restaurant off and on, I would say the quality has deteriorated, over the past few visits

Just been here for mothers day. Food was good everyone enjoyed it. However the manager was rude and not very polite or personable. This is not the first time i have experienced this from this manager. Needs training in customer service. Serving staff were amazing and friendly. Sadly I feel that they have the monopoly as it is the only place in portishead that is child friendly.

Have just had amazing Mother’s Day carvery. Kitchen staff and bar staff were very helpful and welcoming. Will definitely be coming again thank you all. Five stars to you all.

I had the full cooked breakfast very tasty and hot. I'm staying in hotel visiting family and I recommending trying the carvery as breakfast was lovely. It definitely didn't disappoint was lovely full of flavour. Highly recommend will definitely have again when visit in future.

Gwen & Janice were very helpful and more than accommodating for our requirements for both breakfast and follow on meeting. Very pleased to see that service and positive customer experience remains a priority in the UK - nothing was too much trouble. As a result will use this location over other geographical local alternatives going forward.

The selection of cold/hot and continental breakfasts were just right. The hot food was cooked perfectly and although the fired eggs plate was empty when I came to select my breakfast. However, it was no issue when I asked Gwen if there were any more fried eggs available and within two minutes, hey presto! Our servers Gwen and Janice were polite and attentive. Well done and thank you! My breakfast made my day!!

Not our favourite brand but as we were staying in the Premier inn next door and we had a discount offer we decided to eat and drink at the Gordano. They seemed to be lacking bar staff but the serving staff were on their phones and appeared to have nothing to do. That said our food arrived promptly and was pretty good to be fair. I had half rib with chicken breast and the better half a curry. Ate it all and no complaints but we did notice that all orders after at the bar had a 45 minute wait. Maybe the managers need to take a closer look?

Marvellous breakfast much better than some of your other branches. The service was wonderfully friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was the highlight. It was a buffet service which usually means the food is just warm. Not at Gordano it was piping hot fresh and excellent Fayre. Well done and thank you to Gwen, Janice, Liz, and Live. I booked a table on line and mentioned it was my sons 14th Birthday. On arrival we had a lovely set table complete with balloons, banners and even a Helium Balloon. The effort put in by the manager was above and beyond! All the staff were very attentive, the food was fabulous, the setting was inviting and nothing was too much trouble. We will definately be back again very soon. Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable.

Do not be surprised…..most welcoming ….the whole staff extend a warm welcome. The carvery under Reagan could not be more obliging. That sets the standard for an excellent range of meat ….Sunday Lunch..Particularly the Turkey Crown…and an extensive range of vegetables and deserts (Knickerbocker Glory…highly recommended). All the staff stand out and make you feel special.. Zoe at the bar, The delightful lady who only works on a Sunday …but all the staff without exception who add to the occasion . Names would add value but our review includes every member of staff …you are all special See you Sunday…Table 33!

Went for lunch today 11/01/2024, had a great experience the team was quick and helpful. The food was top quality and enjoyed it, will defo be back soon as just moved to the local area. The guys on the bar were very chatty and helpful with us when we didnt know what desert to have afterwards, highly reccommend the chocolate sundae!

Beautiful breakfast, plenty to choose from. Staff was friendly especially Kirstie made an effort to interact with my children which made them happy and was very helpful.

Where to start. Lack of staff which seems to be a recurring theme in these reviews. The tables next us were not cleared the entire 2.5-3hrs we were there. Our table was sticky, the cutlery was dirty and we ended up baby wiping everything ourselves. The food was ok, nothing to complain about but the general cleanliness of the place was seriously lacking. Puddings took an age to come out even after we went to the bar to add more to the order and told them we were ready for them. Lovely to have a play area attached, and was the only reason we booked. Unfortunately that was not clean either, dirty tissues littered the play frame and staff just sat behind a desk on their phone. Kids getting violent with each other in the play area until I stepped in.

Breakfast three days running whilst staying at the associated Premier Inn. Lots of choice and very good food for both of us, although one of us has some food intolerances including wheat. The only glitch was on the last morning they had not had their delivery of gluten-free bread which was a problem as we had booked continental breakfast. However the staff team rallied to ensure that an appropriate meal was available without any undue fuss, and carefully checking back with us. We are very grateful to Gwen, Liv and Ruby for ensuring an administrative problem did not create a problem for customers. Well done!

The welcome I received on arrival was really good, I had to wait a little while to be served for a drink but Amy’s first words were an apology for having me wait. The food we had was what you would expect from a Brewers Fair. The reason I have given a 5* was Eddie, what a great lad!!!
