Brewers Fayre Duke Of York in Dover

Booked in for breakfast as I was staying at the hotel next to the restaurant. Food was very tasty. Service was amazing. Selection was delicious. Jade was amazing. Very informative and attentive.

We were given a very warm welcome by Jade who took our order for breakfast which was freshly cooked by Matt the chef. The breakfast was cooked to a very high standard and Jade made sure we had everything we needed. It was a great experience, many thanks all round.

Thw food was stunning nothing to moan about. Then I walked into the gents toilets, disgusting like walking into a ghetto. Seriously you have to sort this out. Whoever is cleaning the toilets needs a lesson on how to clean. This will be your undoing if you aren't careful. The floor and door to cubicle sticky to the touch and there was a distinct smell of urine. Really letting yourselves down by allowing this to continue

Great food great service from Summer came in for a quick dinner and was not disappointed the fish and chips lovely and huge portion

Honestly what an experience the front of house staff all did a phenomenal job and were jam packed with limited staff and yet all seem to have a smile on their face, my little brother had a medium steak (cooked by either Ollie or Min) but he absolutely demolished it and I had a blue steak which was cooked to perfection. Come here if you want a guaranteed satisfactory meal and a love and relaxing environment.

I had the cheese and bacon burger with chips , most of the chips where rotten , I complained to server who told me that was the skins , I pointed out it was not but he seemed unwilling to do anything about this

Thankyou once again to Chris and all the staff at the Duke of York for the wonderful service and delicious food. We often take our service users who have learning disabilities here for a lunch out during the week and have had our last 5 pre Christmas meal here. The staff are always polite and helpful and the food is always delicious, well presented and reasonably priced. Today we celebrated one of our service users 70th birthday there. The staff had decorated our prebooked dining area with balloons and banners and sang along to happy birthday as they bought out the cake. The Birthday boy had a wonderful time as did everyone else. Would definitely recommend to all.

Excellent service. The restaurant was busy but we still received the attention you would wish for. The menu was full and interesting and when swerved the meals were hot and fresh Christine was a charming hostess

We had a party of 13 and a baby. The staff were fabulous. Each and everyone of them is a star. The manager, in a floral shirt, Sophie kept her team happy and motivated, together they are a great team. Food was good and quick, despite the numbers. Drinks flowed. Happy people. Sorry about the baby’s mess!

Found the Duke of York by accident, they had finished serving Sunday Roast but the staff was quite happy to serve us food from the normal menu. My wife had the fish pie, it was piping hot and she really enjoyed it, I had a really good mixed grill, I was so glad we did not order a starter as I would no have been able to finish all the food. The member of staff that looked after us was called Rick. So thank you Rick you did a great job.

I wouldn’t eat there the food was not very good and soup was very bitter and food very dry the dessert is small and the portions size is not fit for an adult

Usually the food has a decent quality, staff are always exceptionally helpful, however the portions have gotten smaller and more expensive lately. Unfortunately today the veg was overly Al dente and the fish pie was not as stated on the menu, four cubes of pollock does not smoked haddock and prawns make 🤨 tasted ok but really needed the addition of the missing ingredients

Took my son for breakfast with some friends. Enjoyed the food and they had a great selection. Lovely staff including Chrissy. Just wish they’d had oat milk instead of soya.

the food was lovely cannot fault it, but come on brewers fayre the state of the toilets was and is a disgrace black mould around toilet cystern patches of black mould on the ceiling in several places, the dust on the top of each wall is thick and has clearly built up over many months, please sort this out.

Lovely meal for me and my family. All 6 of us were stuffed and enjoyed all of it. I especially enjoyed the dauphinoise potatoes and carrot and swede mash. Looking forward to another Sunday when we can come again

The Duke of York Brewers Fayre in Dover is a lovely place to eat. The restaurant is clean, tidy and very well run. The food is delicious and our server, Summer, was excellent. She is friendly, professional and extremely efficient. We did not feel rushed and after driving from London it was delightful to sit, relax and enjoy a great meal. Excellent value for money! Whenever we come to the restaurant we always try and sit in Angies section. We have known her for many years. She is always very friendly,warm and always very professional in her attitude. One of the main reasons we come to the Duke of York is because of Angie and her service..we will be bringing the children here very soon.

Worst service ever, waited over 30 minutes for food to arrive , manager totally rude and unprofessional. You are apparently not allowed to ask when you will get your meal, or to get an apology for the wait, meantime she serves people who arrived and ordered after we did. Absolute disgrace.

Literally the worst roast I've had in years- no exaggeration. Pre-booked the table, arrived on time and was told they had to check the table was free even though half the restaurant was empty, waited at front until someone else came over after some time to show us to a table. The roast was terrible. The only meat that didn't look drier than cardboard was the turkey so had that, thinnest slice you can imagine. The sprouts were soggy and cold, the potatoes were soggy on outside and hard in the middle ( didn't think that was possible) No greens at all, parsnips burnt, Carrots dry, gravy like water, mash cold. Honestly the worst roast I've ever had. Places like this wonder why they don't get the custom like they used to, I know the answer to that, it's because it's terrible! Anyone who thinks the roast is OK here, I feel for you

Christmas day dinner. Table booked for 14:30 and we shown our table on time. Yes it was abit busy but each member of staff made contact each time they passed our table. Food was lovely and hot, all of us left very full and satisfied....

Had breakfast this morning, greeted and looked after by Angela who couldn’t do enough for us. Very friendly and welcoming. A wonderful, fresh well cooked breakfast was supplied by chef Steve. I would highly recommend this place. We have visited regularly over many years and never had a bad experiences. Very Covid friendly.

Would have been so much nicer if the waitress teaching a new employee didn’t shout at everyone when serving them! Deafeningly ear splitting was neither an understatement or good example! Customer Services - staff were courteous and welcoming. Fast service and restaurant was COVID compliant. 5/5. Starters - our choices of starters were not available. However, ordered a alternative. Pawn cocktail lacked pawns and potato dippers lacked cheese and bacon 2/5.Mains - EXCELLENT - mixed grill and burger were faultless 5/5. Pudding - AMAZING - in many ways I was pleased the starters were small as I would not have tried the pudding 5/5. I’m Summary - would definitely visit again, but would have main and pudding. However overall experience was excellent and felt value for money xx

We were a party of 5 on Sunday 27th June, 3 being quite elderly, we were made to feel really comfortable, table choices suggested to avoid lots of walking through the restaurant. Angela was fantastic with my Mother in Law…. Thanks Angel 😜

Teresa served us today. She told us just before we ordered that there was a deal for 2x roast dinners for under £9. Great meal hot, plenty of meat & vegetables. Very enjoyable lunchtime meal. Great value at the moment in a pleasant environment.

The 5 of us randomly stoped at the Duke of York in Dover to grab a bite to eat ,we was greeted and seated by a lovely lady with blond hair ,she had a mask on but I could see she was smiling , and mother Teresa herself was our designated waitress she was great , talkative and friendly the atmosphere and staff morale seemed to be great aswell ,the kid enjoyed there meals and there ice creams !! I had the tandoori mix grill and usually more than often people over cook my steak , very happy to say it came out how I asked (rare) wich I wasn't actually expecting , so cheers to the team on shift for helping us enjoy out time ✌

We popped in for a little lunch on Tuesday without no reservation. We were allocated a seat with all covid guidelines being adhered to in full. Our waitress was Carly. Carly was so polite, efficient, happy and attentive. It's not very often you come across staff members who clearly are enjoying their work and do it to high standard. Arrived early for '2 Mains for £8.99' deal - food was great and restaurant very quiet on arrival. Good observance of all Covid recommendations and all safety precautions in place for health and wellbeing of visitors and staff.

My work booked me in here and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all excellent. Friendly and efficient. Theresa my waitress was brilliant. Chatty without being intrusive and brilliant at her job. All the staff were a credit to the hospitality industry. The food was delicious. Was sceptical as it’s a big chain, but I could not fault anything. Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Absolutely faultless.

We had a lovely family meal this evening and we’re very impressed with the friendly staff who were quick to help us with our needs (particularly the lovely Teresa who attended to our table and was very friendly and hospitable). The meal was tasty and we had a slight issue with a drink being accidentally spilt into my daughters dinner by my mother in law but the staff were quick to replace the meal and to help us out with sorting the issue. The restaurant was clean and clearly stated the Covid regulations ensuring that we were able safeguarded to the best of their abilities with NHS check in as we came in. Allergy information was provided due to a member of our party having an intolerance and staff were knowledgable about the best meals to accommodate their allergy. It was also my father in laws birthday and there was a lovely added touch of a card from Brewers fayre wishing him a happy birthday. All in all a wonderful meal and a great first meal out since lock down restrictions have been eased.

Booked for 4 persons, the food was fresh, hot and very tasty. The restaurant was clean and warm.The staff were very friendly and welcoming and so pleased to have customers again, they were all well presented and smiley.Jessie was amazing. She gave us plenty of time to relax, she was so cheerful and helped me use the vouchers that are on the website........ 1st drink free, £10 off over £30 spend and a £5 voucher i had not used. And I still have my free birthday voucher to use.Well done all staff, thank you Jessie.

We ate here for the first time today. 2 adults and 1 toddler. The kids menu was refreshingly extensive with a great array of options. More then just your standard chicken nuggets or burger.My partner had the Mac ‘n’ cheese burger and she said it was scrumptious.Whilst I had the Ultimate Filled Yorkie. The Yorkshire pudding was almost bigger then plate! It was delicious and I was certainly full! The staff were friendly and the manager was very welcoming on the host stand. Saw plenty of cleaning in action throughout our visit. Recommend to anyone.

We stayed at the premier inn and took advantage of the meal deal with the Brewer’s Fayre. Worth every penny. The evening meals were very tasty, well presented and hot. Service was excellent. Ang especially as well as a young woman who lives in Deal. (I can’t remember her name, I’m sorry). Nothing was too much trouble. Very covid safe. One way system in operation. Would definitely recommend if you are passing

Travelling from Kent to Essex we popped in on the off chance of getting a table (not always easy these days with Covid) The food was lovely one of the best mixed grills I’ve had, my husband had a burger with macaroni cheese and my mother in law had the gammon stake both loved their meals.Our waitresses Angela C was wonderful, she had a warm welcoming smile the whole time and was attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed. We are in Essex but next time we are in Kent I will certainly be eating here.

Carvery has changed bc of covid and I hate cauliflower cheese so waitress Angela was there to save the day and gave us some extra roast potatoes and Yorky puds aswell. Would recommend

We are regular customers of Duke of York simply because we are never disappointed in the service and quality of the food and presentation. Angela never ceases to brighten our experience. We have taken several different family members over this time and usually the first question when we see them again is when are we going again.

Visited this evening to brewers fayre, Dover. Very impressed with their compliance with Covid regulations, felt very safe, hand sanitiser, socially distance tables etc, had a lovely evening for my granddaughters birthday. We Was served by angie who was lovely, was very efficient, friendly and made us feel very welcome. We Had a nice evening despite all restrictions, you can still enjoy a nice meal if everyone is sensible and follow the rules. We will go back again.
