Absolutely love this place! It's just so comfortable, we visit almost weekly. The food is great & the staff are just gorgeous! Always so friendly & helpful (special shout out to Callum, Charmaine & Sophie!). We even had Christmas Dinner here last year & it was perfect. Booking this year for their Festive Menu for the whole family as I know they won't let us down. Well worth signing up to their Bonus Club too. 500 points gets you a free bottle of wine! What's not to like?!

We purchased a meal deal while staying at the adjacent Premier Inn. The evening meal was ok and staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was chaotic tbh. Children of no more than 7 are making their own hot drinks, wasting products, taking ages, and making a dreadful mess. Mum walked by and said, "Be careful. ". That's all. Ignored the fact that a massive queue was forming and the mess and waste. Never mind the danger! The queue for the hot breakfast items was long, which wouldn't matter if the pastries, bread, and toaster weren't right next to the cooked breakfast. The preserves, etc, were well away from this station and near the fruit and yoghurts. Could do with re thinking.

Very friendly staff. Was a bit of a disappointment food wise. I had the lasagna and I had to send it back due to it being very luke warm. Staff were very good about it and bought me a fresh dish and even though it was warmer it still wasn’t as hot as it should be. I ate most of it but disappointed with a very favourite dish. My husband had the fish and his was fine and seemed well cooked.

We went as a family 12 of us in total and firstly we had to sit on 2 different tables as they couldn’t accommodate us even though they knew it was a group booking. When my sister in law went to go speak to the host (which I will get onto in a second) he just simply turned around and said that they didn’t know we wanted to sit together and there’s nothing they could do even though there was empty booths in which was empty the whole time we was there. The host was ill mannered and looked like he’s just come out for a few pints. Jeans and a jumper with trainers on. I understand it’s not a proper restaurant but come on. We then were looking at the menu which in honesty is quite good looking at it. Prices are expensive for what you get £13 odd for a little chicken burger no bigger than your hand. No sauces offered. We wanted as it’s a Sunday a Carvery but could you have one nope because at 4:30pm on a Sunday they had ran out at 1pm. Why would you even have that as an option to run out of a carvery on a Sunday afternoon. Piss poor planning. Oh as well no pizza like WHAT! The staff are very scruffy looking and literally lean over your head to give a meal out. The pudding. Omg don’t even get me started. My fiancé had a chocolate brownie that she liked and I went for the apple crumble cause I love crumble. Absolutely disgusting!!!! DO NOT EVEN TRY. The crumble is all bitter and broken up, the ‘apple’ is not even apple or blackcurrant it looked like watermelon.

Been to many Brewers Fayre as I regular Premier inns up and down the country but never have experienced such shocking service. Walked in at 8:15 on a Sunday evening to half the restaurant closed. Waited to be seated a male member of staff came and handed/flung a menu at me asked if I was staying at the hotel I said I was. I then get told I needed to order now and only have 20 seconds and walked off. I was quite annoyed and upset at this already but thought I would stay as I was hungry and wanted to have some wine with my meal. I then went to the bar to order and the staff member asked me for my table number. I explained I was told I needed to order and straight away. He said he couldn’t order food without a table number. I then proceeded to ask him for a table number he said I would have to find my own table. I was already upset and annoyed at the point at the service from the first male member of staff in a grey shirt I decided to leave and go elsewhere in Lancaster

As I am local in Lancaster , I have been to this establishment many times. But this visit we just had , made me question , whether it worths it anymore. Booked a table for a family of 8 , at a 6pm slot today. Mainly as it is my daughters birthday , but also because the restaurant is next door to 3-1-5 gym where she had a swimming class just before. No issue with the table as I got shown to the table and knew the way how you go and order at the bar with table number etc. As a registered nurse , I have a Blue Light card which is valid at this chain restaurant. I didn’t know that , you now have to use the Blue Light app to request a code and present it at the bar , rather than showing your actual card, which again wasn’t an issue. The issue was after I gave the code , the lady serving me wasn’t sure why it didn’t work. She had to ask a senior staff member and the reply she got was something along the lines of “ as there were burgers on the menu , they were somehow already discounted due to the time of meal etc etc “ .So the poor girl was trying to find out how she could discount my bill to allow me use the NHS discount. Options started with taking the burgers off of the main bill and charge them separate , and try again , and then to find out if the discount is similar to the meal deal . It was getting way too complicated for her that I just told her to leave it and charge me whatever the actual bill was (£113.06) The other things was , one of the main reasons we choose this restaurant out of all the other similar ones , is the fact that they have a soft play area for kids. I think it’s time , the play area is made free to customers having food already. But anyway , I paid for two kids just past 6pm , the little toddler was free as he is shorter than 90cm . Before even it was 7pm , the play area was closed for cleaning before shutting. I mean , you can stay all day for the same price or barely 1 hr before shutting. It is what it is but just the principle , maybe they should re-think their policy about the soft play area. The two kids couldn’t really use the playground as they had stay with the toddler in the toddler play area anyway. Funny thing is they were all allowed in full play area previously. Perhaps it is up to who is manning the play area and how keen they are in their job . The food was ok as usual. Nothing to compliment but nothing to complain either. All serving staff have been nice and accommodating with our requests , so I can’t say anything bad about them. Overall , the reason to choose this establishment , has just become about the convenience, not the food or the prices 🤷🏻♂️

The weirdest pub I’ve ever been in, we went twice as a family, the first evening they called last orders at 930pm, the second evening they were hoovering at 850pm, we hadn’t even finished our food, the waiter tried to remove our children’s plates that had been finished, when we were still eating, I can’t actually believe it’s next to a premier inn, as I’d of thought if you arrived late you could get a bite to eat, but apparently not!

Don’t even know where to start with this, as I’ve never encountered such poor service before. The managers running the show on Mother’s Day should simply not be working in hospitality or at the minimum be given some much needed training on how to speak to and deal with customers. The male manager decided it would be appropriate to shout over a customer at the bar who seemed to only ask for which complaint channel to go down and what his name was. He clearly couldn’t handle the day, running around like a bit of a headless chicken and dismissing anyone who dared to complain. The lady manager wasn’t much better. Very defensive when my husband tried to raise a complaint about witnessing how he spoke to the lady and had such a negative attitude. This is supposed to be a family friendly place and seemed like the perfect place to enjoy Mother’s Day, but they have seriously let that down and don’t think I’ll bother going again. Shame because the food was very nice - who doesn’t love a carvery?!

It was busyer than we expected at just past 12 and the rude lady on the table was telling the manager to move thier table as they booked 2 tables or something. The lady manager was very professional and managed to stay calm, a lot calmer than i would have been. I would have given her a good slap if she was speaking to me like that. Keep up the good work. Friendly and helpful staff - very accommodating, and a good selection on offer for breakfast. Unfortunately, the usually good coffee - from self-service machine - was not available as the machine had broken. As this is one of our key reasons for having breakfast here, rather than at the Holiday Inn across the road, we were really disappointed. As other customers also felt the same, it would be really helpful to let customers know BEFORE we pay for the breakfasts!

Arrived after a long day travelling and first time back in England from Scotland since COVID restrictions lifted in England. Had booked the meal deal but when I arrived it was packed, long queue at the bar for food & drink and used to no masks and loads of people. Speaking to the lady at front of house she obviously saw my concern and was brilliant. ‘You’ve paid for your meal and I’m not having you go without’ was her comment. She took my to my table in a quiet area and brought a nice glass of wine .. by this time the queue had gone, chaos seemed normal and within a short time my food arrived… yes some items not available, including house wine but the staff were brilliant, the food was excellent, and I was very content.many thanks

Unlike some pub pies it had pastry on all sides and the bottom as well. The mash was obviously frozen and them microwaved but still tasty.Typical Premier Inn breakfasts were provided there in the morning, again the standard was quite good. Everything was hot and fairly fresh, rather than dried up through sitting too long. Its a Brewers Fayre so you don't expect haute cuisine, but overall I thought this exceeded my expectations.

If you read my previous reviews of this restaurant, you'll see that my family and I visit here fairly regularly and usually enjoy the food and experience. Sadly, not this time!Being vegetarian, I asked for the veggie sausages in gravy on a big yorkshire pudding with peas - yum. Unfortunately though, it turned out there was no vegetarian gravy. I asked to change my order to mac 'n' cheese - nope, no mac and cheese available either. Sloppy Joe burger? Nope, no Sloppy Joe mix available. So I had dry veggie sausages with the yorkshire pudding and peas. Tasty but very dry! :-( Oh well, never mind - let's order our drinks. Ah, no Coke Zero available. Children's smoothies? Yes, no problem. Turns out they're past their Best Before date! By this time, we were almost crying (with laughter)! Okay, the food we got (and the second choice of drinks) was fine and tasty in the end. The service from the poor staff was good, especially given the circumstances and the number of customers annoyed at the lack of meal choice. On to dessert - no whipped cream... I give up. Now I understand the hospitality industry is operating in difficult times - but there's no excuse for not informing people via the website/on booking/on arrival of the limited menu and foodstuffs available. We can then make the decision to stay or move on elsewhere. It's only after ordering that you're informed of things that aren't available. This was our first visit to a sit-down restaurant in ages, and it's memorable and amusing for all the wrong reasons!

When we arrived we were informed that a number of meals were not available due to problems with deliveries. The place started to get busier. After ordering our meals at the bar there was quite a wait before it arrived, which with young children got a little stressful. The meals were average for the price charged. There were a few things I couldnt get because of them not being delivered due to the 'pingdemic' but not a problem. These were all told to me by the lovely lady that seated me down at the table. Went for a burger in the end and it was hot juicy and had plenty of cheese on. Washed it down with a pint of thatchers cider. I came here tonight, with my partner and three young children. The staff were great, friendly, and very helpful. What was ridiculous, was the lack of food. We came, purely because of their great play area. I checked online beforehand, and there was no mention of it being closed. We got to the restaurant, and the play area was closed. I ordered nachos for my son - they didn’t have any. I ordered the children’s tortilla wraps - they didn’t have any. I ordered chilli for myself - they didn’t have any. The food was mediocre, if even that. And while two of us were still eating, we were asked three times by a waitress, if they could clear our table. It wasn’t remotely busy at the time, so really no need to rush us out. I used to come here quite a bit when my children were little, but we won’t be back I’m afraid. The staff were great....food (or lack thereof), was on the verge off shocking, and quite clearly 99% of it came out of a tub, and cooked in a microwave.

Oh dear, the manager of this restaurant needs to learn a few lessons in how to keep the customers happy. We had a table booked for 7.30 two groups of four on a golfing break. We wanted a pre meal drink at 6.30 before we sat down for our meal, which is a normal civilised thing to do. But sadly this was not possible because she told us every table was booked, but when we went for our meal at 7.30 the restaurant was not busy and the table in the bar area which we originally sat at was still empty. I do understand COVID restrictions but this young lady in charge was not doing this business any favours. Having said that the young waitress who looked after us was excellent and the food was good value. If this was my business I would not be happy at losing the extra revenue .

Staying at Premier Inn next door. Visited Cottam field to eat. Fantastic food, safe and friendly atmosphere. Our waitress Grace was super efficient, always smiling and quite clearly enjoys her job. Wonderful experience, if your in the area don't miss out.

Very good service but on the Monday & Tuesday there seemed to conflict between the manager with raised voices, I found the same manager quite abrupt & overheard her complaining to the bar manager she’d done some extra shifts & then having a loud word with another member of staff. The young staff could not be faulted & were very efficient which must be harder working under those conditions. On the Wednesday night a new much younger manager was in charge & it ran like a silent clock, what a difference it was & much more enjoyable.

We visited twice on each evening of a two night stay in a nearby hotel. Firstly, I have to say that the staff were lovely on each occasion and the measures in place to ensure COVID safety were excellent. So, to the food and drink.First night - no baked salmon (my first choice). Second choice was a giant Yorkshire pudding with sausages, mash and gravy inside - no giant Yorkshire puds “but we can do it with four small ones” …. not really the same is it?! Fortunately, they had my third choice, lasagne, which was delicious. Dessert first choice was Eton Mess sundae - “we can do it but we don’t have any meringue, is that ok?” Errrm, no, not really an Eton Mess then is it?! Second night (we went back because we’d pre-booked weeks ago and it was convenient plus, they’d have had a delivery, wouldn’t they?) Hmmmm! No breaded mushrooms. No baked salmon. No haddock. No lager. No meringues for Eton Mess sundaesNo profiterole sundaes. This pub/restaurant is the nearest eating place to two busy hotels so really needs to do better.

We had a great meal. I had gammon steak. My wife enjoyed quote ‘the best fish and chips she’s had for a while’. I actually got a taste! So I can vouch for the comment. All of this with a backdrop of systems problems which affected the till and payment processes. All dealt with in an extremely professional manner by Stacey and her team.Well done folk. We’ll be back next Saturday.

Daughters meal missed off order. Husbands burger was built incorrectly with the bottom of the burger in the middle. My order had the wrong sides. We asked for dessert and after fifteen minutes the waitress brought us the bill instead of taking a dessert order. So we left!

Staying at Premier Inn en route to Scotland and purchased the meal deal.I will review dinner first. The food was great and was good value but the service was absolutely awful, it took ages to catch the eye of servers to order more drinks and again to get dessert. I don’t think it helped we were seated behind a wall with no other diners which meant that I think we got forgotten, no one checked all was ok with food.Breakfast wasn’t as good as it usually is but the main issue is that hubby ordered a yogurt and daughter ordered cereal but the hot food arrived at the same time so they didn’t have chance to eat those items before their hot food as if they had the hot food would have been cold.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn opposite recently and went looking for a quick local eatery as it was getting near 9pm when we arrived at the hotel. This place is just over the road and we went straight in as it was pretty quiet. It's a typical Brewers Fayre so you know what to expect. The service was excellent, with a very friendly server looking after us and chatting on her way past which was nice. The food is typical BF, but at least you know there's plenty of it, it's good quality, and the bill at the end won't break the bank. Would recommend it as a good alternative to the Holiday Inn restuarant which charges twice as much for a burger which is not as good as this one!

Had an acceptable meal here whilst staying in the nearby Premier Inn. The food was basic but reasonable, the only criticism I would have had was that the service was a bit slow.

Excellent food and was reasonably priced due to mid week deal. Staff were friendly and dealt with the restrictions with professionalism and calm. Play area was closed due to restrictions but looked in great condition. Handy for electric car charger which is a short 10 mins walk away at the Lancaster park and ride. Note several rapid car chargers available too on Polar Network.

We visited Lancaster staying in the Holiday Inn and decided to use the brewers fayre opposite instead of the hotel restaurant so we pre booked. Our table was ready for us and as we had indicated we had a disabled person we were seated very close to the door with plenty of room. Our server Kelly took our drink and food order Lasagne and chicken forrestiere. Both meals came out quickly and we're piping hot. The food was very nice and tasty and all the staff couldn't have been nicer. All in all a very good experience and we would be more than happy to eat there again.

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door to Brewers Fayre Lancaster which is convenient to travel to Lake District & Yorkshire Dales. Stayed for a week travelling around each day. Could not fault the hotel or restaurant for their cleanliness and service. All the staff trying their best to make your stay comfortable and secure. Will definitely go back again and would recommend this location!

A last minute decision to eat here after a day walking in the Lake District. The food & drinks were lovely but best of all was Kelly, our waitress, who looked after us beautifully. Attentive without being over attentive, interested in us as people and genuinely wanting us to have a good experience, which we did. Made our night.

Stayed in the adjacent premier Inn for one night and booked in here for dinner and breakfast. Food was good, as expected for a similar chain, but the service was excellent. Staff friendly, service was prompt and efficient but not rushed. Organisation was superb and the explanation of covid compliance procedures clear and felt safe at all times. Thank you Andy, David, Cody, Lucy and others.

I can here with my 3 year old granddaughter. Ordered her a kids meal, 4 vegan nuggets, about 10 chips and a small amount of beans...£6.00.!! Disgusting.!! Then I had to order a drink which didn't come with meal, a small carton of apple juice, and extra £2.00.!! 8 pound in total, and the elderly lady behind the counter, very rude.!!! Park is beautiful cafe is work than a motorway service station.!! Never again.!! By the way the plate in the picture is tea saucer size.!!

I visited Saturday after a walk along the canal, I sat down ordered my food, it felt very rushed. It was lunchtime so Light Bites menu I went for the fish meal. It was very small portion for the price . I have eaten bigger portions of light bites in other places. I thought in a lovely place like Hest bank for locals & tourists the welcome & food quality would have been much better. I definitely will not return.

As with previous reviews we got caught out with the scam car park fees, there are no clear signs, why would you be looking for one? It’s a pub car park, as a tour guide who travels the U.K constantly I can’t think of another pub that operates a car park like this, to add insult to injury the food was distinctly average. My advice is if you are going for the Isle of Man ferry, eat on the boat and avoid this blatant scam.
