Brewers Fair in The Vale of Glamorgan

Great food, lovely service and a very enjoyable atmosphere. Was greeted on arrival by a friendly member of staff called sheena where she checked if i had any allergies and then seated us and told us all the deals that were on.

Lovely outside area overlooking the water. Food was hot with generous portions. Staff were polite and chatty, special thank you to Sophie for looking after us well.

Food was delicious and delivered quickly. Customer service was good with Sheena helping with any issues I had. Overall, it was a positive experience and I will definitely be returning.

Book a table ahead of dining. We visited this evening for meal. Some items unavailable at time ( if want specific meal then may be worth asking beforehand if it is available). Short wait for pre booked table. Wait of approximately 40 mins after ordering food before it arrived. Staff pleasant and helpful. Bar service prompt. :Lebanese flat bread and lamb koftas was delicious as was stacked burger - only 'downside' was that as everywhere these days, burgers are served with a brioche bun . I realise this is because brioche has a longer 'shelf life' and freezes well.......... but it is a really revolting way to serve a burger ! Would eat here more frequently if they served burgers in ' normal' bread buns. Next time would order 2 of the lamb kofta meals instead

The food was well stocked and the breakfast variety was varied so that I didnt feel like I was choosing 2nd best if I want to have a continental breakfast. I wanted an additional 2 poached eggs which were prepared fresh and brought to my table . I was greeted with a genuine warm Welsh welcome . I was treated like an adult and allowed to make a choice about where I wanted to be seated. The decor in the Barry Brewers Fayre is clean and looked after with cutlery clean and this can be an issue in other establishments with industrial dish washers that dont get all the bits and marks off the cutlery but my visit disproved that and these were clean . I have been coming to this venue on a regular basis for 11 years visiting family and friends and I must say the welcome, warmth of staff is as good as it has always been - Josh and Sophie have set an excellent standard and show it by example .It looks like the staff are following their example too. If there was any queries then asking someone would quickly get the outcome you want . If anything they do look a little understaffed at times ( lunch and dinner ) but I still got served fast and the food was hot and well cooked. Parking and location is perfect with free parking and suited if you want to walk of the deserts with a lovely walk around the Bay

Me and my family went here for breakfast on Wed was greeted by a lovely French lady (sorry did not catch her name) as well as another lady (tracy) me and the kids filled up before school at 10.99 and kids free you can't go wrong

I went down on Sunday to have a carvery with my family we were greeted by this lovely manager named Carl shown to a window seat and told the carvery and main menu were available and how to order we did decide to go withe carvery. I will definitely be coming back

Attended here a few times over the past few weeks Sunday lunch was ok but the evening meals always seem to come out cold We have complained before and were met with grief from the staff Kitchen staff need to buck up as the front of house staff are friendly Disappointed as it’s an ideal location for us Won’t be visiting again sorry

When we ordered the food we were not told that we would have to wait. We waited an hour for 4 meals to be served! One male member of staff was pleasant but the female certainly wasn’t. When I said how long we had waited her comment was “we have done 180 covers in the last 2 hours. Not my problem. A sorry or any sort of apology would have been nice. She needs to be trained in customer service.

Total circus experience, understaffed, no cups, glasses, bowls, cold coffee no juice, dirty tables piled high with dishes, long que at hot counter as food trays not being replenished total shambles. We used breakfast plates for fruit as no other option

We had three meals all not well cooked prices high and quality not good Kids popping chicken chips garlic bread except for garlic bread all over cooked. Scampi and chips there were more bits of scampi then chips again all over cooked Smothered chicken chips again over cooked all chips were like crisps and chicken was tough to tired to start a discussion about food quality. Will not return

Visited this Brewers Fayre whilst in Barry. Pleasant staff, easy to order, food delivered hot and plentiful and in good time. Lots of space between tables, good atmosphere, would recommend

No one to greet us as we walked in, so after waiting a few minutes we decided to seat ourselves. An ignorant young girl then appeared and barked at us telling us that we had to sit elsewhere (she didn't specify where) so we moved. I then went to the bar to order and was told by the duty manager that the second table that we choose was reserved, I was peeved by this point and explained to her that it didn't have a reserved sign on the table, to which she replied I have put a barrier to stop you entering that area, laughably her so called barrier was a small folding luggage rack from the adjacent hotel!, which is no more than a tripping hazard. We decided to stay and order food because my son who has a learning disability was rather hungry after all the needless faffing around, had I been alone I would have told them where they could stick their part cooked muck!. No wonder they are emailing previous customers with 40% off vouchers, they must be desperate to attract customers. Sort the attitude of your staff out, it is truly appalling on every level!

We often visit Brewers Fayre (Barry Island) for family occasions such as birthdays, as the restaurant is very reasonably priced, the staff are always friendly and I've never had a bad meal there. I would just like to say yesterday was no different. The food was as wonderful as ever. I ordered the Mixed Grill along with my partner and it was cooked to perfection. I then had the Cadbury's Ice Cream Sundae, a particular favourite of mine! The staff were both friendly and very accommodating. The food arrived swiftly considering the restaurant was quite busy at this time (3pm). I would just like to thank all the staff at Brewers Fayre (Barry Island) for their excellent service yesterday and always. My partner and I cannot wait to return for another celebratory occasion!

Couldnt fault our visit today. Visited with our family of 10, we visit on family occasions as central to all of us, has always been a good experiance but some new items on the menu which we couldnt fault. The smothered platter is now my new fav! Friendly & efficient staff at the bar, food served quickly and at a good price. What more do you need.

My family and I were having a drink near the main entrance close to the hot drinks machine and we heard loud shouting and extremely foul language coming from the kitchen area. Initially, we thought it was a one-time occurrence, but it continued. One of the staff members went into the kitchen area to ask them to stop swearing as there were customers who could hear what was going on. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, the staff member in the kitchen swore at the employee and then started to verbally insult us as well. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and the impression left by this person on us and other guests is extremely damaging to your establishment. When I returned home, I decided to call the restaurant to file a complaint and express my frustration over having to listen to a foul-mouthed staff member who insulted my family and showed complete lack of respect for paying customers and other staff members. The waitress staff were quite embarassed and had to face the customers which would have made them feel uncomfortable, so well done to them.....

We stayed in Barry for the week and had the best cocktails prepared by Josh at Brewers Fayre. Tasty and strong. Great service and friendly atmosphere.

My Family and I had Dinner at Brewers Fayre Barry near the Water Front. The table had been booked by my Cousins who were staying at the Premier Inn opposite. When we arrived it was busy. We were later told we had to leave by 9 .50pm because they were closing ?? The plates were collected and just left at the end of the table. When I went to get a coffee refill I was told I could not because they were filling up for the morning. The Hospitality was appalling the worst experience from this place We all have eaten at Brewers Fayre In a different location at Hospitality has been great. Barry is not unfortunately

Amazing carvery, brilliant food. When we arrived, there wasnt a lot of roast meat left, but when I asked, I was informed that there was more meat to bring out, so i was extremely impressed!! Brilliant selection of potatoes and vegetables. Every person involved in the service of our lunch, we're police, informative and extremely friendly. Well Done Brewers fayre Barry!!

Ordered food took over 45 minutes to arrive . Everyone’s chips were like warm but all of my meal was lukewarm so had obviously been hanging around under some sort of heating plate. Sent it back as unable to eat. Everyone else in our party had eaten there’s but 40 minutes later mine had still hadn’t emerged back from the kitchen. Had money back but not very nice sat there while everyone else eating there meal. No apologies given. Will not go there again has certainly gone done hill.

Absolutely shocking, not enough staff this was highlighted after 45 minutes wait when it eventually arrived all chips were luke warm and my wife's meal was cold it was sent back after another 30 minutes when we had all finished it still hadn't arrived so we cancelled spoke to the general manager who refunded the meal with no apologies at all this use to be our go to place but won't be going back if this is how they treat their customers.
