Brenda's Chippie in North East Lincolnshire

Absolutely fantastic. Fed 10 of us and everyone said it was the best fish and chips they've had . 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

The best fish and chip shop in cleethorpes by far hence you always have to que or wait for a table -but it’s defiantly worth the wait…

We are working in the area and I’ve tried several chip shops but have to say Brendas chippy is about the best!

Fish was so thin and tasteless I would put it in envelope and post it back to where it came from, Fish fingers grey inside, Tables not being cleaned after each seating. Now I know why people were sat on the beach front floor with Papas boxes. Disappointing

Staff were very helpful and read the ingredients for their batter so we could check. Yummy fish and chips for family with egg and dairy allergies.

We had fish and chips. The fish was so white and soft it was really tasty and the chips were the best we’ve had in a while. The arrangement for social distancing was good, they had a hatch in the side or you could go in if you have a mask. They were really friendly and was served really quickly. The only downside was the tables outside were too close to each other. I would say remove some tables so it doesn’t attract too many people. I felt a bit stressed sitting there being so close to others. We had been to Papas on a previous trip and hadn’t thought much about the food. It was too overly busy to go on this occasion and I’m glad we went to Brenda’s instead!

Credit due to the girl taking orders an cooking and doing everything, I waited 45 minutes to be served the two men/boys working with her constantly on there phones in and outside never washed there hands and then handling food hygiene and customer service disgusting. When I received my fish I then had to take it back as it was black and smelt. Will never be returning there was a few unhappy people today I'd recommend going anywhere else!!

We had fish and chips at Brenda's chippy when my elder granddaughter came to visit. They were delicious, hot and freshly cooked, much better than the chips we had at Papa's the following evening!

Stood in a queue but got called inside to order,so didnt have to wait long.Our haddock and chips were amazing,and my grandkids loved their cones of chips n tomato sauce,so everyone was happy. I highly recommend it,the food is fresh,great portions and very good value for money,and I will definitely be calling in again next time I'm visiting this lovely seaside place.

Brilliant chips and lovely fish. Well worth the money. Was very busy so had to wait but in truth I didn't mind one single bit

Our 2nd family visit from the the eastriding to brendas chippy delious fish & chips at great price served with an optional service of hot and cold drinks all served with a smile also a seating area outside with a sea view will deffently paying a visit again soon 3 very happy customers

Stopped for lunch here. Wouldnt recommend. Fish tasted strange so left it. Very expensive.Staff were also rude and quick to move you on..

In a town full of chippies this family run place is right opposite the pier, it’s friendly and clean and the fish n chips are excellent

Called here for fish and chips, place looked clean staff friendly enough decent size portions and priced fairly. The chips where nicely cooked not greasy at all the fish however wasn't great, the batter was nice, again not greasy but the fish itself was one of the worst I've ever had very watery. Would only come here again for a tray of chips.

Had a nice meal here and very reasonable too, very clean, staff polite and helpful. Would eat here again.

Had some really nice fish and chips here. Great value for money. Service was very quick even though the fish is cooked fresh.

Lots of visits last year. Lovely fish cakes. But after a recent visit we were very disappointed. They tasted like they had been reheated several times. We will be looking for a different chippy

Visited today with my daughter. Chips were a bit overdone with lots of burnt previously cooked bits. The only good bit was that the staff were friendly and they were cheap

We were looking forward to this chipie after not visiting cleethorpes for about 6years always liked it before but disappointed with it now ,we arrived about noon and ordered fish and chips x2 the tables were full so we walked down the prom and sat on a bench we were shocked how poor the fish was it was obviously reheated from the day before the batter was rock hard and the tiny amount of fish very dry and tasteless what a shame as we were looking forward to this,won't be back.

Brenda's Chippie es típico de muchos en Cleethorpes, pescado, patatas fritas están bien, podría ser un poco mejor, pero tienes cuidado y una buena relación calidad-precio. Nos sentamos al lado y (creo que Brenda ella trajo un recargo) | sal y vinagre si nos necesita. Mantuvo las mesas de los clientes claro, limpio cuando había terminado, así que los que llegan no tienen que esperar por una mesa para ser preparado. Alan estaba constantemente yendo alrededor de la zona de bellísimas y mantener ordenado. Debo decir que fue un placer ver el esfuerzo que ponen en las chicas jóvenes que y hacerlo servir con una sonrisa y hacerte sentir bienvenido. Sin duda me alojaré Brenda's la próxima vez que esté en Cleethorpes.

Cuando voy a visitar la familia de mi esposo que siempre nos llevan a Brenda y no sé por qué. Fuimos y la chica estaba limpiando su nariz en su mano y entonces ella recogió un bun cliente pan. Literalmente me hizo sentir enfermo.

Have eaten lots of fish and chips all over the world but these are the best ever ! Brenda is so warm and lovely and always makes us feel welcome . Love it here ! X

Came here for the first time on armed forces day and it was packed. Queue soon went down. All seemed very organised and friendly. Food was lovely! Best chips I've tasted in a long time. Came again today and it was spot on just as before. Thankyou

Nice chips right on the sea front. Would visit again. Large queue but this was due to it being Armed Forces Day and it went down as fast as could be expected. There is also seating available constantly cleaning the tables when a group left ready for the next group.

The bed chips we've had for a long time homemade fishcakes are gorgeous as is everything else we've tried. Special thanks to Allan for the dancing today! Getting ready for a busy weekend!

Cannot give a full 5* as I have only tried the chips from Brenda's, however these were gorgeous and great value. Would definitely go back, and try the fish when I am more peckish!

We sat in the sunshine at the front of Brenda's and thoroughly enjoyed our chips. In fact we have been back twice.

Brenda's is directly on the sea front - Cleethorpes promenade. Relatively small premises situated almost opposite the pier. Not particularly attractive externally- tu do offer great quality and value fish and chips to be eaten on premises or as a take away

Great place for great quality fish and chips, the staff were lovely, even helped me carry them outside, good seating area with a sea view, proper seaside fish and chips.

We visited here on Good Friday and the weather was also nice which meant Cleethorpes was very busy. The queue to the chip shop was quite long as a result and we waited a while but I don't mind this for fresh fish and chips. The interior of the chip shop is like a step back in time with the old fashioned fryers which is nice to see. There were also pictures on the wall done by school kids thanking Brenda's for their fish and chips. The fish did seem to vary in colour with some of them more well cooked, however, I requested a paler fish and was given this no problem. The staff were very friendly and there are tables outside which are regularly cleared. We chose to walk to the sea front and eat our fish and chips, which is really near Brenda's. I would say some of the chips were quite bitty but the fish was lovely. The portion size was just enough for me leaving room for an ice cream later! I would eat here again purely for the location if it is a nice day, as a lot of the chip shops are not this close to the sea front.

Really nice fish & chips and lovely outside tables so you relax in the fresh air. Lovely staff and always very busy just been good Friday and was opening for trade quite early.

Lovely fish and chips as always can't go wrong, always fresh, quick friendly service. Looking forward to going again this summer

Went here for your lunch whilst out with the children and two dogs, the take-away is clean and as the added benefit of been able to sit outside at table and chairs. You get a good portion size with both the fish and chips not swimming in grease. It was also very nice to be able to get a real cup of tea in a proper cup. The staff are very friendly taking time to ask out our visit to Cleethorpes and enquiring about our dogs. I also noted that as soon as tables where vacated staff quickly cleared and cleaned them for the next customer. I would recommend this take-away and will be visiting again when we return to Cleethorpes.

Great place, very accommodating for our care users we brought to the sea side for the day. The fish and chips were almost as good as the scenery whilst siting outside eating the lovely food.They are a step ahead of the rest

Had a day out at Cleethorpes Saturday (8th August) and stopped to have fish and chips at Brenda's Chippie, which has to be the best fish and chips l have had in a very long time.I try out this meal at several seaside resorts, and found the standard of service, friendly owners and food were above average.Highly recommend all to try this seafront restaurant.Jean of Tamworth

We have visited this place twice and both times it was great, dont go to the other chipies in this area you will be disapointed.

This place is a little Gem and by far the best in Cleethorpes! Its located right on the sea front opposite the Pier so it is really central, you can even hop off the little train right outside! The staff are very friendly and welcoming - they are chatty and happy to help you in anyway that they can. The outdoor tables and chairs mean you and sit by the sea, relax, enjoy your food and the weather if you are lucky enough to visit on a sunny day! The staff are constantly clearing the tables and wiping them down so its always clean as you arrive. The whole place has a real family and friendly feel about it and the food is well priced and more importantly always fresh and piping hot. You must try the fish, its excellent and is always cooked perfectly in yummy crispy batter. This our favourite Fish and Chip shop in Cleethorpes and has been for years - we have never had a bad experience here - it has everything - Best location, seating area on the seafront, excellent food and the friendliest staff you could wish for. Cant wait for our next visit!

We love Brendas and visit severel times a year on family days out. Excellent food, shop is super clean, staff very friendly & nothing too much trouble. Good location right on the sea front. Always made to feel very welcome & plenty of seats outside. Excellent fish & chips :-)

Having tried various chip shops in the area i can safely say Brendas is my new favourite. Upon entering the shop my family straight away noted how clean and nice it looked with letters from local children thanking Brenda proudly displayed on the wall it was nice to read them whilst waiting for food. The staff were very cheerful and spoke with great enthusiasm about the area and informed us about all the best places to visit, They were very kind and had no problem with us coming back and changing our order although they had already began preparing our other one. The food itself was delicious. The chips were on another level and the fish was cooked to perfection and really was one of the best i have had. The seating area also added to the experience as it allowed us to sit in the nice weather with our meal and simply look out over the sea. Staff member outside that was bringing food to tables and keeping tables and the floor tidy was also very nice and talkative. Was a pleasure to eat at Brendas and would highly suggest more people do the same!

This friendly "chippy" is right opposite the famous Pier and the beach. Its long established, and its no surprise due to its lovely Fish and Chips

I've never been into this restaurant because the name of it really irritates my group of friends and we can't bring ourselves to go in... none of us know what a chipeye is!!

This is undoubtedly the best "chippie" ever. Having worked up an appetite on the amazing beach at Cleethorpes we were all in need of some food and Brenda's "chippie" looked appealing from the outset. There is seating outside allowing you to look out at the amazing coastal views which is a real bonus. The "chippie" was clean and offered an extensive menu choice. The food was well cooked and the chips were amazing :-). I briefly spoke to the ladies running the "chippie" complimenting the food and asking who was Brenda?. Apparently Brenda had taken a summer vacation for the first time in 45 years. Well deserved and the "chippie" was left in good hands. If we ever visit again we will definitely be visiting again.

Something your great grandfather went to in the 1960's! Pet hair or tea towel fibre in my gravy! Crap Chips were little crispy bits and oily - Call them crispy crumbs if you like! Moody staff! Only thing OK about this place is the little seating area and the Battered sausage... Brenda - show mama ya sausage!!!!
