Brenda's Cafe in Derby

Absolutely awful service... Can't comment on the food as we never got any. Sat and waited to be served got totally ignored until my partner approached the counter ask if we ordered at the counter or if it was table service and was told it was table service.... Still no order taken.... Eventually got served .... Order was taken ... A tea and an orange juice came quite quickly.. but no food.... After sitting watching 3 other tables that came in LONG after we'd been waiting getting served their orders, it was VERY obvious that there was favouritism VERY obvious. So I cancelled the food, that still wasn't being cooked and paid for the drinks and left... Absolutely disgusting treatment, crappy service ... If you're not a local or a regular avoid it like the plague 🤬

Lovely friendly staff made you feel welcome as soon as you walked in. The foods nice and it's also reasonable priced, has seating area inside and whilst I was sat eating there was a few deliveries cone in so they also deliver, will definitely be back thank you.

Cracking full English that hit the spot. Delivered quickly and with good service. Clean and tidy. Tables outside if you fancy sitting in the sun.

Impeccable food and service from the team at the cafe where the sun seems to always shine. Probably the best fried potato sandwich in the county maybe even the country. I will be back again for the full Monty as soon as I can.

Been to this café twice in the last fortnight,1st visit was impeccable, first class all round, fast friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere, there is a smell of grease in the café that you can smell on your clothes after you've left! But aside from that we couldn't fault anything else. Onto today's visit! Wow I can only assume that the café has new owners as the man doing the cooking (very slowly) was extremely rude, swearing at delivery drivers in front of hungry customer's, being nasty to his staff and one of them was only a young lad, he was completely out of his depth, food when it finally arrived was not as nice as our first visit. All in all I'd say I'd return for food there but only when the ladies are cooking, but if it has changed hands and the rude man is cooking I'll definitely not be going in!

Everything but the egg was fine. The egg was absolutely horrific it looked like the egg had only been cooked on the bottom the yolk was still raw and could still see the slime on the top from where it had not been fully cooked 🤮 will not be going again!

Cafe near derby train station, Average greasy spoon, in all honesty the food wasnt bad, but it was a little cold, even tho we ate in, but the massive problem is the smell. We were on our way to london for a day at the football and on the beers and wanted a breakfast to line our stomachs for the day ahead, we got there around 8.20am, brendas opened at 8am, we got in and 2 youngsters were on and a older lady ,( guessing she was the mum), one taking orders, one making the tea and toast, and mum cooking the food, we all went with a breakfast ( 4 of us ) the wait wasnt to long, and the food not too bad, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, fried eggs, hash brown, beans, black pud ( i think as i cant rememeber) and mushrooms, the egg, beans and mushrooms were a little cold but the rest was ok, not great but not terrible either, Staff were friendly enough and the place seemed ok, im not sure if they have a public toilet as we didnt need. The thing stopping brendas getting a 4 stars was the smell. We came out and met other friends who.all commented on how they could smell the grease on our clothes, the food was cooked as open plan so the smell lingers, and goes onto your clothes, we asked randoms on the train who could also smell it so we had to pop and get some spray when in london. Not sure id visit again just because of how bad it makes u smell. Shame but it is what it is
