We spend at least 3 weeks on holiday in various cottages in the area but i always make a trip to Breeze ,Claire is so helpful and a warm welcome awaits .Claire is not pushy and gives you plenty of time to browse her beautiful stock which is varied for all ages and tastes ,gifts galore or just treat yourself ,Not back till March but looking forward to my next visit .Its just a gift shop no food.

I can't recommend Breeze enough, great home cooked fresh food & Claire who served us was lovely as was her Mum who worked there too. Its obviously a family business & means a lot to them so the care & attention was second to none. If its a meal or just a cup of tea you fancy you'll feel just as welcome, oh & after you're done have a look around the shop I bought an amazing hand decorated cheese board done by a local artist, it takes pride of place in my kitchen, whats not to like .

Had a lovely time with our one year old at this fab cafe. Two ladies working were so chatty, gave our boy lots of attention and were happy to give us their cake recommendations. We had coffee and cakes and really enjoyed them. We loved browsing the gifts and would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Wooler, we shall be back in the spring for sure.

Like life, coffee shops are complex. I'm on Wooler about once a year and always pop into Breeze.Let's get the negatives out of the way first. The lady serving looked as if she was in bad form. I asked what the difference was between a regular and large cappuccino. It seemed as if I had asked her to do 10 press-ups, judging by the look on her face and body language. I think I would have moved the 3 feet to show the difference between a cup and a mug but a concise but gruff explanation followed.I found a table which had a few crumbs on it. This is where the sheer professionalism kicked in. My new friend simply took her hand and swept them off. A classy move with deft wrist action. The coffee came and was delivered with minimalist aplomb. No conversation, no eye contact, no engagement. Now, I wasn't expecting her life story and an explanation of how such a sour face got a job in hospitality but some recognition of fellow humanity would have been nice.In mitigation, we all have bad days and we don't know the back story. The ladies were chatting nicely in the kitchen, it would just have been nice to share in their social largesse. There were good points. The coffee was good and the scones (fruit) in my case were excellent. The other younger lady who was serving was much more sociable and my neighbouring table experienced her more charming attention. In short, a bit more focussed customer service would have been nice.It was near the end of the day and my friend seemed pleased to put the 'coffee area closed' sign up.

We were staying in the area for a week and popped into this lovely cafe a couple of times for lunch. The fact that, after our first visit we returned speaks for itself. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The food was extremely tasty and I think the fact that it takes a while to come shows it’s being freshly prepared to order, a bonus in my mind. Whilst waiting there are lots of lovely gifts, jewellery etc to look at in the shop section. We also bought some of their lovely cakes to take away and have with a cuppa later.

Popped in for a lunch during our week holiday in Wooler area. Staff welcoming and friendly. Three of us had baguettes and they were freshly prepared and came with a very colourful, fresh (no wilted leaves here) salad and crisps. My husband just ordered a toasted teacake. He asked for more butter and it was no problem, waitress happily proivded more straightaway. NOTE - advise you use the car park a short walk away if arriving by car. The parking on the road outside is for 45 mins - you will need longer to enjoy your meal. Don't spoil your visit - a couple near us were getting quite worried as their food did not arrive quickly enough! In my opinion Breeze is better for being a quality lunch venue and not just another quick convenience snack bar.

We were driving back from Edinburgh to our home in Northumberland and decided rather than doing the AI route we would come via the A68 and 697 via Wooler and decided to stop there for lunch. We spotted this place and went in, Dave ordered Homemade soup of the day (minestrone) with a ham and cheese toastie and a pot of tea for one, I ordered a jacket potato with coronation chicken. Dave declared his soup lovely and warming and it was a generous bowlful considering it was served with the toastie. My jacket potato came beautifully presented and in addition to the freshly mixed coronation chicken, there was a bowl of freshly prepared salad, a small bowl of coleslaw, some tortilla chips and 2 portions of butter. They also serve homemade cakes as well which looked lovely but we were too full to try them on this occasion. The girl serving was lovely and checked for me if celery was in anything as I am allergic, she also told me there were gluten free options as well if that was a problem.

This place looked just the job after a 6 mile hike. Myself and my husband sat at a table decided what to have and then waited ages to be served, even though I could hear the staff just having a chat in the kitchen. It was not clear if it was table service, and when I dared to ask the question, I was met with a gruff reply of 'be over in a minute'. The soup and sandwich was nice if a little watery for my taste, my husbands soup and scone would have been better if the soup had not been spilled on the scone. The staff here need a serious lesson in customer service. Oh, and there was no toilet paper in the loo, just as well I had a pack of tissues in my pocket.

This coffee shop/gallery is okay-ish (more of that later) but having frequently travelled from the Scottish Borders to the North Yorkshire coast over the past 10 years I have to say I have yet stop off anywhere along the Coldstream-Wooler-Powburn-Longframlington-Morpeth route more than once; maybe Northumberland just has a dearth of good chefs and waiting/table staff. Wooler is one of the better stops along the way; Longframlington is by far the worst - a place that time forgot with creepy, unfriendly locals...but back to my thoughts on Breeze. I'd agree that the soup/sandwich combo is the best choice here. The staff can be offhand/haughty and disinterested depending upon who is working on any particular day and it's a place that's gone downhill (albeit gradually) over the past 5 years. It has been better and perhaps it may improve but it's handily placed with free parking on the street outside - I am struggling to find the really good points! But all-in-all it's unfortunate but the trip from Coldstream/Cornhill-on-Tweed to the A1 at Morpeth is one best despatched quickly without recourse to stop off anywhere along the way.

We were told abruptly they had finished serving lunch so we settled for a cheese scone and tea/ cappuccino. The scone was not too bad but probably came from from a large bakery rather than made on the premises. The accompanying pickle and butter packs were dreadful. The tea was watery and the coffee bitter. We had previously had coffee and cake at The Breeze about 18 months ago and thought then how welcoming and cosy it was. Today, again a warm welcome and the sun was out. We both ordered the jacket potatoes, mine with prawns and husband ordered his with coronation chicken. As everything is freshly made there is a slight delay, but while waiting there are plenty of lovely items and photographs and paintings to look. Our jacket potato platters duly arrived - each accompanied by a dish of coleslaw and a lovely fresh salad of leaves and grapes, some crisps and of course the filling of our choice.
