Had food from here twice & each time it was lovely. Freshly cooked & very tasty indeed.

2 x large cod and regular chips ... myself and the wife took them down the river to eat and met another couple doing exactly the same .... They are the best cod & chips we've had in years. Absolutely delicious and even the swans enjoyed the left over chips too! .... we'll definitely be back. Thank you.

First time visiting , was recommended by a local. The man behind the till was pleasant from the moment I set foot in the door. I watched as the food was made freshly and was delicious! Will definitely stop by again next time I’m in the area

Staff really nice chips not very nice ask for lots salt and vinegar take away sat by river no salt and vinegar I put it in the bin .

Others have reviewed the menu, and yes you do have to wait for your order to be cooked - which is considerably better than reheated food, but can be a pain if there’s a big queue, and this is slightly more expensive than some other chip shops. But ...and it’s a huge positive but....the quality of the fish, the excellence of the cooking and the range on offer make this new venture one of the best meals of its kind I have had. My congratulations to the team.

Usually great standard, but unfortunately, tonight the batter on the fish was dry with not much fish inside and the chips had obviously been cooked some time ago and were dry and shrivelled.

Hands down the worst chippy I’ve ever been to. Very expensive and the portions are tiny. A large chips in any other local chippy are enough for 4, this was barely enough for 2. I’d say a good £8 more for a meal for 4 people too. Total garbage. Quality of the food nothing special. Dry meat on the kebab and a long wait.

Fish was well cooked, crisp batter very enjoyable. Sadly the chips were a different kettle of fish they had obviously been sitting around for some time and were dried up and very unappetising. Not sure I would chance a return for more of those chips.

We live in the village but this chip shop just gets worse. If the order is even correct nothing is ever pre cooked so you wait an age even if you order online. Once you get home the chips are old and black inside on occasion. The burgers are dried out. The only thing I would class as ok is the sausage. The staff are un interested and to be honest inexperienced. I hate being blunt about a local business but held off two years or more to send this. Drive an extra ten mins and go to Bishops Cleeve.

I visit this chip shop every week and have done for 12 months on a Friday a treat for me and my mum.The food is excellent hot cooked fresh,staff are out standing it is spotlessly clean. I have just started trying the milkshakes they are freshly made and taste amazing working through the list but the biscoff is my favourite so far.

Really dry chips like not crispy but actually dry and they forgot to put salt and vinegar on. Tomato sauce tasted weird and the curry sauce tasted like school diner gravy...

Worst chips ever! Dry like cardboard, chips shouldn't be so dry and like they are made of card. I can't recommend it at all. £8 wasted and in the bin... 😡 Update and reply, actually a friend purchased this evening and their view was the same, I am very disappointed this evening. My mum and me started having fish and chips on a Friday and were overwelmed with the quality of food and it’s all cooked fresh as you order. The staff are so friendly Leanne has got to know us as we have been going for months now every Friday.We really look forward to Friday for our fish and chips. We have had fish and chips else where but nothing beats Bredon. Also it is so clean and spotless.

Delightful lady that served us this evening (11 April - 5pm), going above above and beyond to assist. Very helpful, friendly and an asset to this company.

Great tasting chips & battered sausage, nicely packaged in cardboard boxes. Easy to order over phone & collect. Quite expensive tho! £28 for 5x sausage & chips.

Really easy ordering, they offer an app on their website which was user friendly and so easy to order. A wonderful selection of food for a fish and chip. We ordered Cod and chips which were still perfectly fresh and hot when we got home to eat. All the Food was delicious and even enjoyed batter crème eggs and pineapple fritters. It was delicious. Highly recommend Bredon Village Fish and Chip shop.

Oooo what gorgeous chips, battered sausage, & pizza us as a family of 6 have just had from Bredon fish and chip shop! Not only was the food delicious, it was bang on the time we had requested and also had a beautiful handwritten note, & free battered creme egg… yes I know sounds disgusting but it was actually delicious for ordering through the App for the first time! Well done to the team working on the 09/03, we shall definitely be using our loyalty card and coming back for more!

Gorgeous food, hot, fresh, tasty, chatty and friendly staff. The manger who I was served by advised me of fake review flurry by an ex staff member and their friends which can’t be removed.

Disgusting meal, one of the worst. Ordered online for Sunday evening. The chips were dry and battered sausage probably been in the hot plate since the morning. We ordered for 6 and had to throw 90% away. Maybe the good reviews were from weekdays and the place was busy and food cooked fresh. Will NOT be going back

Been here a few times in the past and not really had a good experience. Visited again because we were passing by, thought we’d give it the benefit of the doubt but wish we hadn’t. Very expensive for very poor food. Staff were rude on previous occasions and even this time didn’t feel overly welcomed. There aren’t any good chippy’s around this area/Tewkesbury sadly. Gone are the days of a nice chippy tea!

This chip shop use to be excellent but has taken a big dive in quality and increased prices to the high end for a chip shop. I visited last before Christmas and was disappointed with both the quality and quantity Of the fish and chips and put this down to a one off. I visited again yesterday and ordered a Haddock and chips. The Haddock was good but small when compared to other local chip shops. The chips were another matter, I should have paid more attention to the reviews on this item. The chips were crunchy and old more like McDonalds French fries than chips. Two strikes and your out, I will not be returning to this establishment again as the chips were inedible and had to be thrown away. There is no excuse for serving up crunchy chips. I will be patronising the local pubs who do excellent fish and chips at a similar price but have edible chips as well as fish.

Haddock was good well, chips were old and obviously good a second time even the fat chips were churchy, mushy pea were average, but the staff engagement was crap no that will be £12.50 please just a point at the card machine. Do the expat 3 miles and go to Northway Chippy!

This place used to be our go to as we are veggie and want somewhere where the chips are cooked separate from meat and fish. However, the last two times we have visited the food has been really poor. Last time I went the young staff were really unhygienic using their phones behind in the kitchen and then handling food. Secondly the food has on the last two occasions been undercooked the previous visit and near enough raw. Tonight they were solid as a rock and totally overcooked and dry, we used to absolutely demolish a large between us and now there are loads left which will be binned. I also question if this portion was cooked separate as the chips tasted very fishy. Sadly I don’t think we will be back which is sad as we’ve been coming here for a very long time. Owner is always lovely and I am sorry to be negative however we have been disappointed by this place a few times now!

Sorry brought pie chips for hubby me 2mins drive chios were old and cold so was curry sauce pies no filling and overdone

chips were awful, obviously warmed up from the day before. fish not too bad, pie ok but none of the three meals worth £21. Shall not order again.

Great food and such a range of choice

Really disappointed in the fish, had the gluten free (no choice) which ruined the fish flavour and moistness. The chips made the meal worse and can only be described as some of the worst chips I’ve ever eaten. Before I’m slated for a one off experience, I had the tried fish and chips approx 3-4 months previous and had a similar experience. I put it down to a one off so tried again in hope of an improvement. Will NEVER purchase anything from here again.

Bredon Fish & Chips did the catering for the evening of our wedding and did a fantastic job! Great communication and price, super friendly and helpful and most importantly the tastiest fish and chips! They even threw in some veggies options which was appreciated. Thanks so much :)

Unfortunately, I have notice the decline in quality of the food with the sausage completely tasteless and the chips are very noticeable which possibly indicate grade ‘B’ rather than Grade ‘A’ are extremely dry and tasteless by reducing the menu options and bring in quality I think the shop may regain its reputation lastly, maybe bring back rapeseed oil when cooking. The service was and still excellent please bring back the quality of the food

As someone from a fishing town, this is the best fish and chip shop I have ever been to. The fish is amazing and very nice portions, they do all kinds of food including chicken, pie, and all the food you'd expect from a good chippy. I can't believe the quality of the fish and strongly recommend this place to anyone passing through the area, you will not be disappointed! Always service with a smile, you will leave happy before you've even tasted the amazing food!

Last year I gave this place an excellent 5 star review, everything was spot on and absolutely delicious. I couldn't find a single negative. The place is now under new management and having been twice in the last month, I won't be returning. The chips were really dry, had no flavour and had eyes and bruises. The fish was okay but disappointed they no longer do Gloucestershire Old Spot sausages.

Last week we had two boxes of chips, they were really good. This week we had one box of chips and one beefburger. The chips were like very dry and not much taste, complete contrast to week before , the burger was OK but could do with a bun that does not fall apart. Can't understand it was like the chips had been dried out.sorry but there it is oh and another noticable difference last week they were piping hot, this week just warm. As I say last week perfect.

My wife and I ordered at lunch time today and we were not disappointed. We were recommended this place by a family member who eats here weekly. Place was spotless and we had a warm welcome and the food (although we had to travel back to Tewksbury) was crisp and fresh! For sure will pass on the recommendation given to us.

Worst chip shop I’ve ever been to, walked in and ordered to staff just stood around not doing nothing no acknowledgment of arrival. From there it gets worse, ordered 2 sausages a curry sauce and a bag of chips, 30 minutes later ended up driving away as food still wasn’t ready or anywhere near will not return and would not recommend

Quick bite? Fast food? Absolutely not. I think it’s great that the food is cooked to order but ……. what a wait. I even had to wait for a portion of chips.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience. Paid 17 pounds for fish, chips and a battered sausage. Drove home to find I had no chips. Drove back again and although they did give me the chips I ordered I received no apology and the woman was very blunt. Chips were very bland and soggy. Fish was poor with so much batter I binned most of it. Feeling Disappointed.

Poor quality of food, soggy battered fish, chips not the best, very dark and burnt, and id definitely stay away from the chicken donner meat as it's not the normal kebab meat you would see in other chip shops, to me this looks pre sliced wafer thin processed meat and tastes awful. The hallumi slices batter was soggy and dripping in oil. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend travelling out to this place as there are better chippys around the area. Oh, and before the owners say I didn't make contact before I placed this review, I suggest you look at the email I sent you, and I've had no response.

Very disappointed in quality of food. The chips were what I assume we're frozen oven ready chips - dry and tasteless. Usually, have been standard 'chip shop chips'... The fish was undercooked - although batter was burned. Large piece (Haddock ) but full of bones....

This was our second visit to this chip shop and once again didn’t disappoint. All food cooked fresh to order and phone orders accepted with an App as well. Would definitely recommend.

Good portion size, it was more than enough to satisfy my hunger. I had fish and chips with curry sauce, whilst the cod was very tasty, I would have preferred thicker crispier batter. Otherwise good 👍

Having seen that this chip shop was supposed to be one of the best in the U.K. I decided to try it . Wish I hadn’t wasted my time or money. Chips burnt hard and obviously been cooked over and over again, fish tasted strange,...

Used to be ok. Last couple of times it's been chaotic. Staff are flustered or apathetic, one was in tears last time. Fish is ok but chips are very poor. There are better places 4 miles along the road. We won't be bothering again in a hurry.

Delicious fish and chips, generous portions for a regular meal. We pushed the boat out and went for a deep fried creme egg, definitely recommend that if it's available when you order!

We visited this shop after hearing they had recently won an award. The shop was busy with people waiting for orders. The guy cooking the fish (I guess is the owner) was very rude to his staff in front of customers to start with.Then to the food. The fish was very nice with lovely batter nice and crisp but the chips were tasteless and dry in the mouth. Not worth the £9.50 per portion. Thank you but we will not be visiting again

Fish and chips was excellent tonight from here. Enjoyed it very much. Although fish and chips is no longer a cheap meal one large and one portion of chips was enough for two people.

Big helpings, efficient staff, very welcoming, excellent service, and no smell of fish - which means the fish is truly fresh.

Excellent menu selection! Fresh, made to order, quick service, clean facilities. We had a large cod and large chips with 2 cans which filled 2 adults. The batter was the best we've tasted! Crisp, light and well seasoned. Cod was perfect!! Chips were outstanding. Thank you!

Nipped in late tonight after a recommendation from a friend whilst staying locally. I'm very picky with my fish and chips having been in the business myself, and having eaten at well over 100 fisheries, and I was still very very impressed. Top notch quality food even late on everything was fresh, and cleanly cooked. The fish whilst a smaller looking cut was way above average quality nice and thick with big white flakes and not overcooked. Just big enough to satisfy. The batter was also of a good thickness with lots of flavour and plenty of nice size chips not just scraps of potato and not too floury. I was originally apprehensive after being told they fried in rapeseed oil, but my fears were nulled upon tasting the food. The only difference to dripping or Veg oil was that it was very clean tasting which was a welcome change. I was particularly happy to see the home made fishcakes, breadcakes, and the availability of vegetarian and specialist options. I was also happy with the friendliness of the 3 staff I had contact with, especially at the end of what I would expect to have been a long busy day. My only note would be get some big Spanish onions in, and add home made onion rings to your menu. I think they would be a welcome addition to a very well put together menu! Overall a credit to the local community. keep it up!!!

I visited this business as I was told their food was the best. The fish was bad with a very soft undercooked batter and the chips were not crispy and barely cooked. After a few mouthfuls I threw the entire lot in a bin it was that bad. Traditional is often used with fish and chips to describe some sort of exceptional product but this was traditionally bad as with so many fish and chip businesses these days in the UK.
