The Robin Hood in Wychavon

We used to go there at least once a month before its refurbishment. So we thought we would give it a try. We entered we hadn’t booked the welcome wasn’t warm a bit like why have you come here??? We ordered the mushrooms starter which was bland (no taste) and the bread was soggy. For mains I ordered chicken parmigiana - mine was awful just tasteless! My wife ordered the skewers which were ok. To drink I ordered Sauvignon New Zealand. It was like paint stripper. When i got the bill it said Neo. I drink this all the time that was not New Zealand Neo Sauvignon. Don’t bother don’t waste your hard earned money “ If you don’t look after your customers someone else will”. Disappointed.

We arrived at 2.30 and we were immediately seated by Ellie. She was our server for the 2 hours we were there and she lovely. Very helpful, polite and good humoured. Excellent food. Plenty of it. Piping on and very tasty. Even though it was very busy - the chef still played beautifully. Veg was perfect. Not over cooked in any way. I was really pleasantly surprised. It was a very busy afternoon and the car park was very competitive for a space!.

It’s been newly refurbished and was busy when we visited. I wasn’t overly warm and although the ambience and decor looked like it should be cosy and warm, I wasn’t. We had the skewers and what there was, was tasty but just not enough for a main course. I’ve double checked to see if this is listed as a lite bite, but it isn’t and in my opinion should be. I had the pie of the day, unfortunately the pastry was extremely difficult to cut, especially the lid of the pie. The filling tasted nice but there just wasn’t enough. Dessert was the crumble, nice enough but the crumble was a bit stodgy. We were very looked after by our waitress, who was lovely and I will go back and try again because the pub itself is nice, hopefully the food will be better next time.

A lovely atmosphere, wonderful service from Laura and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. We would highly recommend it

Called in here on the way back from a holiday in Devon. Had a very nice meal here, as we always do and served by the lovely Shelly.

First time there food was slightly disappointing but will go back and try food again

Overpriced pub grub.....no doubt trying to recover the refurb costs but its a little over-glorified for somewhere that's barely past the 'pub/restaurant' level. £17 quid for gammon & chips labelled as a "bacon chop" hilarious....but not on the pocket. I've seen better places fall by the wayside as a consequence of overpricing above its station....be interesting to see how this place fares over the next 12-18 months.

The sunday lunch here is incredible, one of the best in the area. You get a lot of food for your money too. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is that the service is awfully slow. It took 2 hours just to do 1 course today. We were probably waiting about half an hour from our plates being cleared to getting the bill.

Beautiful pub, it's been refurbished to a very high standard, great quality furnishings, comfy seating, clean and tidy toilets. Very friendly and approachable staff, great service. Excellent menu choices, our meals were fabulous, we were all happy. The only slight improvement I would say is that we brought our dog which is great but no staff mentioned that there was a few dog treats, bowls and blankets near the door which we only noticed on the way out so we missed them. Overall a great pub experience, can't really fault it.

The Robin Hood staff were very welcoming, polite and knowledgeable about menu and specials on offer.Our server Shelly was attentive, advising us that as they were extremely busy that there may be a delay on food. When asked about the special board and portion sizes of desserts the staff gave us their honest option. A thoroughly delightful experience. Would definitely recommend and make a return visit if in the area again. Thank you Robin Hood for making us welcome and for the delicious food. The desserts are to die for. Also noticed Dog friendly as several jars of dog treats close to the entrance door. Didn't have dogs with us on Sunday but I'm sure they'd receive a warm welcome

Lovely pub, food fantastic would highly recommend and return only niggle service could have been a little better as we was not welcomed with a smile or hello rather just a stare but would return and looking forward to it .

It’s says it’s Dog Friendly, but it isn’t, your made to feel unwelcome! We were looking forward to visiting the new refurbished Robin Hood, as it was my partners Birthday we thought it would be lovely, to celebrate by having the Sunday lunch. As we have a dog we pre booked as they say it’s “dog friendly” a table in the bar area. We were placed on a table of four when there were only two of us, which is fine and we thought nothing of it until later! We ordered food at the bar and to be fair it arrived quite quick. So was quite impressed, the food itself, we both had a trio of roasts, which came with a large portion of veg but already had two large carrots under the trio of meats. For the meat, the beef wasn’t even a slice and was very small, not even half a slice beef. There was a slice of turkey and a chunk of pork belly. Don’t get me wrong the meats tasted very nice, but the whole meal you got was overtaken by veg, too much really. So it’s misleading. But what we wasn’t impressed at, we had just finished our meal so just under an hour we were at the table and there were other people in the bar area, but we were asked by we think the manager, who asked if we could move as he wanted the table for 4 people who just turned up and not booked! His temperament implied basically we had no choice, because he said it was busy. I think we were caught off guard, we had a lady that was next to us who was on her own not eating just with a drink, who sat in between us and another couple at the end of her who were also eating. There were another two ladies on a 4 table who were eating, but were not asked but we were because we had a dog! We had spent about £80 just under an hour, and was about to order dessert, but we felt we forced out and made to feel uncomfortable like we just didn’t matter! The thing is, these establishments say they are dog friendly, but you are put in a corner where it’s dark, why is it dark? made to pay at the bar to order food. Where if you in the main bit of the pub they come and take your order! You are treated so differently. You could tell they don’t want them in there really but they are having to do it maybe because they will loose trade, because there are a lot more people now who have dogs. We were made to feel we didn’t matter, and it was awkward. The manager himself you can tell is not a people’s person, he made us feel that he was asking but telling us to move in the same tone. Just awful he should not be running an establishment if he doesn’t know how to talk to people! Awful! He wanted to squeeze as many in as possible! Didn’t matter we had pre booked, he could have asked the lady that was having a drink on her own to move and the two tables could have be joined together as she was just drinking. Not good at all and ruined the experience!

I have been to The Robin Hood on several occasions, and the food and service are always excellent. This occasion was no exception. 4 of us arrived for Sunday Lunch, without having booked a table beforehand. This was no problem at all for the wonderful staff, in particular Shelly, who looked after us superbly! I have family in the area, and The Robin Hood is one of their favourite venues. I can absolutely see why, and would recommend it to anyone as a great place to go for a meal.

Great dog friendly place to eat. They really accommodate for dogs here offering them blankets, treats and water. The bar feels cosy and food is always great. My ONLY critic is wishing their pie's were cooked with a pastry bottom rather than just topped with pastry (but note: the dish is huge for those that like filling).

Booked for father's day lunch, service started off great and food was hot, fresh and quick, however when we got to the dessert stage (fixed 3 course menu) we were left for almost 20 minutes. Then whilst eating them and drinking coffees were notified we needed to leave the table! We had been there for exactly two hours. I fully understand the need to vacate tables particularly if guests are outstaying their welcome, however had we not been left to our own devices for so long we actually would have been finished and gone in those 2 hours.

Waitress attentive efficient. Food was enjoyed by all of us.

My Husband and myself decided to take my Mom here for a meal for a treat after reading reviews (near enough 100 round mile trip on a day out together) the staff were very attentive and a beautiful quaint pub. However the meals were not quite up to our expectations, the pie and mash with carrots was the best out of the meals we had, but the chicken schnitzel was very , very dry and a very thin amount of chicken, with not much sauce/ topping, the homemade chips did not seem to be triple cooked. Would I come back again? Possibly yes to try something different, and then make my mind up fully as the staff and actual pub was lovely, I just feel a little more needs to go into the meals.

Restaurant was busy - probably because of the 40% discount voucher. Staff all cheerful, service quicker than usual. Food excellent as usual, green beans less undercooked than usual - almost spot on.

Popped in just wanting to grab a quick meal but had the dogs with us. Was seated quickly in the bar area. Wasn't obvious the you had to order at the bar, but we soon worked that out, no big deal but would help if explained as being seated. Food arrived quickly and was on warm plates but wasn't super hot, not cold and no reason to complain but would have been 5 stars if a bit warmer. But food was really nice and would definitely return if in the area.

I have frequented your restaurant a number of times. The service is generally very good as is the internal ambience, design and food. The exterior is looking tired not giving a great first impression. Good menu and great food

We went (a party of 4) on Sunday 19th May for lunch. We will definitely be coming back. The food was delicious! The staff were welcoming from the minute we entered Especially Shelly who was our server. Nothing was to much trouble and served with a smile. Lovely area out the back (could do with maybe a tidy up) but nice to sit in and relax I can honestly say, the Robin Hood as a great relaxed atmosphere, great food, dog friendly and reasonably priced.

I would have scored 5 but as we hadn't booked a table we were kind of tucked out of the way in a corner, but apart from that, everything was great.

Amazing portions and quality of food. Staff really friendly and professional. My family and I went there as my 18 yr old daughter wanted to go and we were so impressed.

Staff very accommodating - we arrived early to meet with family who had driven from Devon and also arrived early. We had the table 45 minutes ahead, which was much appreciated. Food service was not particularly fast. Food was excellent except for the carrots which were very soft and watery. Portions were good, and food was tasty. Always a nice ambience at this pub, so we will be back again soon.

Half an hour early for dinner (5.00)and told to wait by bar. Apparently no seating. I walk with a stick and asked if I could sit down at empty table and was told it was reserved for 5.00.!!!! The lady manager came over and pointed us to an empty table. I ordered j2o no ice. It came with ice. Main meal no problem. I ordered dessert. Vanilla and honey comb and raspberry sorbet. It came as vanilla, chocolate and raspberry sorbet with chocolate drizzle. When it came back it was still in same dish as chocolate remains were in bottom of dish. I was disappointed with the service and thought to be pointed to a table and not taken to it, to be quite rude.

Although the food was good and the staff polite I must leave a review to complain how very cold the temperature of the room was. This was due to a log fire which billowed smoke into the dining area. Staff opened an outside door and after a few minutes we asked them to close it their reply was we will leave it for another 5 mins. In fact another door was opened and over an hour later they were still open. We left very cold. The temperature was about 5 degrees. 2 of our party are in their 70s and we were extremely disappointed. When we left only two other customers remained, Unsuprisingly. !!

We have been to The Robin Hood several times for dinner. The food is always lovely, the staff have always been friendly and pleasant.

Finding it was easy and parking, the waitress service was excellent. But the roadworks to navigate when leaving, were annoying, leading to non existent atmosphere. We were waiting to be seated for 10 minutes, before being acknowledged. The signature start o, prawn cocktail was poor, no sauce, looked I had had a go. My main was ok, even if the gammon was a bit chewy

On a busy Mothers Day the team lead by James didn’t disappoint. 13 year old son commented - “you never have a bad meal here”

We had a lovely lunch for our 56th wedding anniversary. The food was superb as always and although It was very busy we still received good service. The fire was lit and it was lovely and warm and cosy.

We were travelling from S Wales to Nottingham. We stopped at the Robin Hood purely by chance. What a gem. A warm welcome, great atmosphere (Monday lunchtime), roaring fire, great menu. The food was delicious and reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Another pub with no table free. And we're supposed to be in a cost of living crisis. One of three pubs visited that were full. Further: an aggressive response. A review is an opinion. Nothing more. Or do we live in a non free speech country. No, didn't think so. Nothing more to be said. Keep up the great hosting, it's clearly working 💪

Pub looks nicer inside than it does from the outside. I had bangers and mash. You wouldn't think that's too difficult to cook, however the sausages were burnt. You would think that they look at what's on the plate and think that doesn't look right. Lasagne wasn't brilliant. Cheap meat used. A bit overpriced.

A lovely afternoon lunch served by the lovely friendly and attentive Jake. Thought I'd give him a shout out as the person below seems to think he's rude. Well he certainly didn't come across that way today during a very bust lunch he remained friendly and super at his job. Nothing seemed to fase him and he got on with delivering fantastic service. A real asset to your company. The saying goes you Reep what you sow ? To the reviewer claiming Jake to be rude says more about yourself than him and this fantastic establishment. Thanks again Jake we will definitely be back.

We were not told when we sat down that only had 90 minutes. We were offered dessert but told we only had 8 minutes before we had to vacate the table. So no time to have dessert in reality. We had only just finished the main course. Very disappointing. This apparently because they had a discount running and were maximising covers for the night. We should have been told when we arrived. The booking confirmation gave no indication we were limited. Had it have done, we would have gone elsewhere. This was a birthday celebration cut very short

Visited this pub on Sunday with my wife and 2 kids. Food was decent but sadly your waiter, Jake, ruined the entire experience. From the onset, he was condesending and rude. When we arrived, we asked what soft drinks were available for the kids, and were asked "what do you mean"? We also ordered 2x roasts, exactly same meal but one came with brocolli and the other without. When we asked the waiter why, got a very rude attitude blaming the kitchen staff and not him. We were very polite throughout and were not rude customers in any way but got a very bad attitude from Jake. You are in the wrong job bud, customer service isn't your strong point.

Liked the ambience of the place. Good service. Pleased that Amanda turned the loudspeaker right down for us! A fair set menu. Thought that the price of a small glass of coke (over £3) was a bit much. May well try it in the evening.
