Always such incredible service, delicious food and atmosphere!!

The food is absolutely fab, and our waiter (Tom) was a total legend. That said it's quite loud with the music/tables close together so not great if you're a bit hard of hearing or want something intimate. Also a real shame that they reserve the tables outside for walk ins only rather than letting people who've booked take them if requested. Also the range of drinks could be better. I think ultimately it's a nice place for a chilled meal but not for a really special evening out. Would go again if passing and they had space but probably wouldn't go out my way.

This a lovely restaurant with great food and service. The atmosphere is authentic, cosy vibrant and busy. There is seating outside as well.

Lovely atmosphere, great food (unanimous fave was the aubergine & molasses), Broad & varied choice - all beautifully served and really fresh. It’s a bit pricy - but absolutely worth every penny!

I have been used to a more relaxed vibe for Spanish tapas and the ambience is more of a bar/club one, so not very much to my taste. The food however is tasty and reasonably priced, the draught lager is exceptional and the service very accommodating, professional and fast. A good option for a light bite, especially if you get a spot outside on a beautiful day.

I came here with my Spanish partner as I'd heard good things online about this restaurant. When we arrived, the waitress was giving us the side eye, and I immediately felt uncomfortable. I've worked in hospitality, so I tried to ignore it. Despite this, we felt like an inconvenience the entire time we were there. We ordered the patatas bravas, which were essentially crisps/fries, which is pretty disappointing considering the restaurant is called "Bravas". We also ordered a dish called "smoked sardines" which ended up being a single sardine cut in half on two toasts. Considering how uncomfortable/unfriendly the service was and the stinginess of the food, I can't really give it anything but two stars. It is definitely a British tapas restaurant, not a Spanish one.

From a Spaniards perspective: They weren’t very friendly once we were wanting to get seated. We felt like an inconvenience to them, took a while to get our order taken down. It felt that the server wasn’t very fussed to serve anyone that day. The portions felt stingy, I know it’s tapas but tapas is not finger sized portions, tapas is quick and easy and cheap to make. So adding some decent tapas sized portion is the minimum. We got some smoked sardine toast with fresh cheese and we got two toasts (that’s okay) but with just half of a sardine on them barely to give them barely any taste. The dish was called smoked sardines, note the plural, we got barely 1 whole sardine between two toasts. The bravas were also chips. What? That deeply upset me given the name of the place is bravas. Bravas are thick potatoes and normally you serve around 200gs of potatoes with a portion, not a single 100g portion and it was just glorified chips not bravas! I am not having that thanks. The atmosphere after all the above didn’t feel good.

Crackin little tapas place with a buzzing evening atmosphere and really friendly customer service. Food is really tasty and comes out randomly as its ready which I really like. Pork is Amazing! Just make sure you check your bill carefully before you pay as mistakes do happen when they're really busy. But I must add, they corrected it without hesitation . Bravo Bravas 👏

We love Bravas. The service is warm and friendly without being invasive, the food is always great with some good specials to mix things up if you visit more than once, and the drinks flow easily! Enjoyed trying a couple of sherry options this time, after our meal.

La mousse de trufa y café de avellana eran increíbles. Los platos principales eran un poco decepcionantes y un par eran increíblemente salados, es decir, berenjena y calamares. El ambiente era vibrante... solo volvería aquí dulces y bebidas.

La comida estaba deliciosa... sin embargo es muy cara por lo que es... especialmente porque las tapas son baratas en España... y hay cosas por el estilo... como resultado no volveré a Bravas...

Great core menu and good turnover of Specials complemented by good choice of Spanish and international drinks. We over-ordered as usual! Always busy and buzzy but the background music can be a bit loud.

Food was very good, in particular the goats cheese and walnuts was delicious! Patata Bravas thin and crispy ( a bit different to be usual, but tasted lovely) Sadly, the prawns were super super gritty with sand. I was crunching down on sand which is not nice. Our table was interrupted 3 times by staff wanting to reach things behind us ( my friend had to stand up from her seat) this was slightly distracting for us mid conversation. We were a bit cold as the door was open. Still, the food was overall delicious. The prawns need to be fixed though as they were unpleasant. It has not put me off returning though, as the pros definitely out weighed the cons. Would be a lovely place to go to in the a Summer and sit outside.

A great tapas restaurant. Impressed on arrival to see that the menu is printed afresh on a daily basis and even then there are specials on a board. The menu was inventive and wide ranging and we particularly enjoyed the potato bravas, chorizo dish, the tuna dish and the mackerel special of the day( see photo). A good and reasonably priced wine list from which we chose an excellent Spanish white. Lively atmosphere with excellent and very friendly service team.

Brownie points to my date, who picked this place for a pre-movie supper. Warm and friendly service from Flo and the team, all of whom are super knowledgeable about the menu, which is changed daily. Imaginative and beautifully created dishes with an exceptional selection for vegetarian and gluten-free (I’m both). Cosy and intimate. Fancy expanding to Cheltenham?!

Went with 2 children 10 and 13 who are quite adventurous with food on a quiet Weds afternoon. No one else in there. The two waiters looked at each other I assume due to the kids in tow and then left us completely. We looked at the menu for a while and left. Didn't see any staff. On hindsight taking kids to this place was a mistake- the menu is quite complex and it has a late night vibe but still we travelled a long way to get there and it was an uncomfortable experience.

Bravas is the best tapas bar in Bristol, if not the entire UK! The service is prompt and helpful, the drink selection is vast and the dishes are delicious.

We Came here on Monday and we were really impressed by the venues style and it had great atmosphere even on a Monday! Beautiful food, the iberico pork and fried aubergines with molasses were stunning amongst other great dishes. And I was blown away by the naturalmente dulce moscatel-best sweet/desert wine I’ve ever had. Bravas is a must go if you like good food!

Atmosphere, food, service all amazing - and no sense of being hurried

Food was fantastic. However, what really stood out to me was the service! Our server (in the dungarees, didn’t catch their name!) was absolutely lovely and was really accommodating towards my friend, who is coeliac. Very happy that we stumbled across this place and will hopefully be back soon!

I loved it! The food is absolutely delicious. Special mention for the croquetas, the smoked sardine, the chickpeas and spinach and the ox cheek which I found works so well in that cholocate sauce! Everything is truly well balanced and tasty. The service was impeccable: friendly, agreeable, attentive and above all the timing was just perfect! Barely any wait between the different tapas, it was flowing very nicely and naturally. This place appears to be very well run, I have nothing bad to say about it. Strongly recommend.

Food was quite well executed and very tasty. Service seemed a bit chaotic. The music was very very loud. I think people come to have tapas to chat, have great food and wine:). The wine was really great though. Worth coming if you like decent tapas and sort of party ish like atmosphere:).

No estoy seguro de si fue mi error reservar el restaurante equivocado, pero no se me ocurre ninguna otra razón que explique la situación. Nos dijeron directamente que nos sentáramos en el bar al llegar, solo para descubrir que no servían bebidas alcohólicas allí, lo que fue decepcionante. Sin embargo, la peor parte fue cuando el gerente, que era portugués, comenzó a hablarnos de una manera muy grosera. Tratamos de mantenernos educados y comprensivos, ya que todos tenemos malos días, pero continuó.

I’m not sure if it was my mistake booking the wrong restaurant, but I can’t think of any other reason that would explain the situation. We were directed straight to sit at the bar upon arrival, only to find out that they didn’t serve alcoholic drinks there, which was disappointing. However, the worst part was when the manager, who was Portuguese, began speaking to us in a very rude manner. We tried to stay polite and understanding, as we all have bad days, but he continued.

An enjoyable lunch though the food was not especially good.

Everything was perfect! The food is delicious every time and the staff are amazing! We were a group of 12 and the menu we had was just what we wanted and the portions are great for sharing! We had a few dietaries, but they went above and beyond to make sure we hardly even noticed as they catered for them so well!

Went today for the first time and had an amazing experience. Staff are so friendly and helpful and willing to recommend food to us. The food is amazing, delicious with high quality. Definitely will go again.

The atmosphere is a lovely mix of bustling restaurant and warm ‘date night’ bar. The range of dishes on offer was great, we tried six dishes, with the croquetas del dia (cured meats and goats cheese) and chorizo in cider being the stand outs. We’ve tried a few tapas spots in Bristol but Bravas is our number one and new go-to!

Our 2nd time at Bravas. The kids have loved both times. Patatas Bravas, chicken thigh, mouro, croquettas, salad were stand out. But it was all really delicious. Great service and lovely atmosphere too

Perhaps the top tapas restaurant in Bristol. Very good flavours and reasonably priced. I would recommend not to get more than 2 dishes with fried items, as they can be quite heavy. Cured beef meats and chorizo are among my favourites. Had the chance to try venison too, which was delicious. Nice selection of vegetarian options too. For about 8 tapas and 2 glasses of wine, bill came around £70 (including tip), which seemed very fair to me. Would recommend and visit again.

It's a loud and busy restaurant with tasty food. However if you get the gluten free bread expect a laughably tiny portion.

Really cute, but fabulous tapas bar. Food is AMAZING. We've been several times and have never been disappointed. The croquettes of the day and tortilla are soild favourites of mine, the menu changes seasonally so you're always served the best. The specials board is exactly that: SPECIAL.

A very welcoming place. Good food & comfortable whilst also being compact.

We came for a birthday booking and were seated on such a tight table with people either side despite there being loads of other tables. We asked to move to the bar where there was more space and the staff begrudgingly let us move but were quite clearly unhappy about it. We kept being trapped in by stool on the corner which we moved twice only for one of the waiters to keep moving it back (one of our party had mobility issues so this was really frustrating). They had too many staff working in such a small space for how busy it was on a mid week evening and even though there were so many service was slow. Food was average for tapas I’ve had much better - overall my experience meant I wouldn’t go back

I was transported to Spain in a Tapas barefoot incredible meats and vegetable dishes alike with a real surprise in the trio dessert ALL well priced Wine is all Spanish and from unusual grapes Staff remarkably helpful allowing wine to be tasted Thank you Jonathan (AKA Sir Lunch a Lot)

I had fish (cod) a la plancha (highly recommended) and chorizo in cider. Both are tasty! The staff are very friendly.

Amazing food and lovely atmosphere, very friendly service. The only reason not to give 5 stars was because they were absolutely at full capacity so it was very crowded and there were a couple of order mix-ups - but still really highly recommended! Not cheap but worth it as it was delicious.

What incredible food, every dish we tasted was amazing. The pastas bravad was the best we’ve ever tasted. The delicate texture of the aubergine with the sweet molasses - beautiful! Thank you for such a fabulous meal.

Insanely expensive but it’s very delicious. This thing was nearly £14.00. Actually insane. However, was exactly as promised, the Wagyu of Pork.

Food was good, atmosphere was nice. Service was severely lacking. We were sat for our booking and it took 20 minutes before we had any drink or food orders taken. This was particularly frustrating when the same guy who sat us sat their friends next to us (so we know they were sat after us) and had served them and had a nice long chat with them - I know it was their friend/former colleague from another restaurant from the conversation they were having. This meant that before we had even been given water or asked what drinks we want the table sat after us had their wine and starters. We tried flagging the two waiters down to take an order but were ignored multiple times. When we finally had our order taken they didn’t bring 2 out of the 6 things we had ordered, when we flagged this to a third (and very very lovely waiter in the purple top) they apologised and got us one of the missing items (olives were meant to be a starter so we didn’t get those in the end). It’s unfortunate as it really felt like we had become a forgotten table despite being in the middle of the restaurant and it did ruin the whole experience.

Bravas is a vibrant restaurant and the tapas were excellent and authentic. I will certainly return here. The specials of the day were outstanding.

Exceptional quality. Meat board and cheese board are both good options if you're hungry. Otherwise, lots of really well made tapas options. Cozy inside seating or heated outdoor seating.

I live around the corner from Bravas and I haven’t been for a while. I noticed a big change. It really needs a lift. It lacked charm, the food average, service was poor last night and it was half empty at 8:30 on. Friday night. I was charged 10% on service when I would have held it back. I had to wave at the staff six times to indicate I was ready to order, twice for a drink, when food arrived our glasses were empty and my husband had to wave again to remind them he’d been waiting whilst the dishes went cold. We were sat at the bar right under their nose and they were occupied but not busy as it was half full on a Friday evening. There was no one checking the detail on customer (I.e food served no drinks). The food was not as good as before. Cod lacked seasoning, tortilla the same. Lentil dish looked like it had been prepared yesterday again no seasoning hidden under a crusty slice of goats cheese. Atmosphere wise, whilst I like music it was pumping loud to the point I couldn’t hear myself speak. Music is good for atmosphere but people go out for tapas to catch up and to talk. There was an all round lack of awareness going on. Sadly I won’t be back soon and My favourite place is no longer. The owner needs to be mindful that a good product can be ruined by people working for you who don’t share the same passion for food and service. They might think they do but who’s checking what’s coming out of the kitchen, who’s showing the staff what service is about. Who’s running the debriefing meetings. You need staff with an exceptionally good appreciation of food and service to make the magic happen. The magic wasn’t there last night sadly.

10/10 - this place is consistently outstanding. Service is second to none and the food is fabulous. The manager Fabia is the best int eh game - if you she been you must !

A very happy and bright couple? The restaurant is managed by the restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious food at reasonable prices.It's a bit of a problem because there are only a few tables.

Visited recently, this gem is arguably the best tapas bar in England. Let's start with the food, I just have no words, god I can't say just one dish because they are all Wow, then through the setting, absolutely authentic with Spain and last but not least the staff, hats off. Young and friendly people. Thank you, wait for us again soon.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, food is excellent and there is a great variety of vegetarian dishes. Staff are efficient and polite, always eager to help. We have been aficionados for years and Bravas never disappoints us. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Bristol.

In so many ways Bravas is fab: lovely buzzy atmosphere, great and very slick service, generally very good food, but it is rather cramped and the tables aren't big enough to take all the dishes so you have to do a certain amount of table decluttering yourself. Neither of these 2 negatives really bothered me. However, I was rather floored by the prices, and particularly shocked at the cheese platter - 3 very small pieces of cheese, the 2 hard ones being overly dry and rather tasteless, for just under £20!! The Picos blue was delicious though. For me the outstanding dish was the aubergine/molasses. The patatas bravas were rather dry and underwhelming, sadly. A very nice touch of some chocolate truffles on the house for the 2 birthday folk. Thank you for that!

Beautiful tapas experience. Food was excellent and the Tinto de Verano was a taste of Spain!

This is such a good Spanish restaurant, simple tapas done with flair and with top quality ingredients. Every mouthful is a delight and the prices are very reasonable considering the competition and quality of food offered here. Service impeccable. Small space so be prepared to squeeze in, even if you’ve booked. The aubergines with molasses are game changing

Really really good food. Great tapas. Don’t miss out on the aubergine in molasses (I know right, but it is amazing). And their take on Patata bravas is great. Friendly staff, buzzy atmosphere and good value. This is one of our regulars. If you want a table on a particular weekend night book ahead but availability is ok if you’re flexible

We had Aubergine chips that were just full of oil. A coleslaw that was tasteless, some mushroom dish that was also swimming in oil and tasteless. Tiny potions that cost £7 each. And really poor service. Sloppy service, they practically chucked the food on the table. Never again!

Lovely service and the food was exceptional

Bravas was a perfect location to celebrate my husband and daughter’s birthdays. We prebooked the group menu and it was fabulous! The food just kept coming - and there was such a huge variety! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The desert platters were especially beautifully presented and were a lovely ending to our meal. It was a fairly warm evening and we were able to sit outside - the atmosphere was great. And the service was friendly and prompt. Bravas is around a 20 minute walk to Bristol Hippodrome - so a perfect place for pre theatre dining. We look forward to returning!

Absolutely incredible food, in particular the Pork was amazing and Martha was a lovely server and we throughly enjoyed our night.
