Amazing tapas, great value for money, top customer service. Best tapas in Bristol by far.

I loved it! The food is absolutely delicious. Special mention for the croquetas, the smoked sardine, the chickpeas and spinach and the ox cheek which I found works so well in that cholocate sauce! Everything is truly well balanced and tasty. The service was impeccable: friendly, agreeable, attentive and above all the timing was just perfect! Barely any wait between the different tapas, it was flowing very nicely and naturally. This place appears to be very well run, I have nothing bad to say about it. Strongly recommend.

Food was quite well executed and very tasty. Service seemed a bit chaotic. The music was very very loud. I think people come to have tapas to chat, have great food and wine:). The wine was really great though. Worth coming if you like decent tapas and sort of party ish like atmosphere:).

I’m not sure if it was my mistake booking the wrong restaurant, but I can’t think of any other reason that would explain the situation. We were directed straight to sit at the bar upon arrival, only to find out that they didn’t serve alcoholic drinks there, which was disappointing. However, the worst part was when the manager, who was Portuguese, began speaking to us in a very rude manner. We tried to stay polite and understanding, as we all have bad days, but he continued.

Nos dijeron directamente que nos sentáramos en el bar al llegar, solo para descubrir que no servían bebidas alcohólicas allí, lo que fue decepcionante. Sin embargo, la peor parte fue cuando el gerente, que era portugués, comenzó a hablarnos de una manera muy grosera. Tratamos de mantenernos educados y comprensivos, ya que todos tenemos malos días, pero continuó.

extremely friendly staff and delectable food! love the fried cod and prawns. however would skip on the chorizo (too salty) and chicken thigh skewer (too charred for my liking). would be back to try the other tapas!

An enjoyable lunch though the food was not especially good.

We had a wonderful experience. Great service with a friendly team who explained dishes and types of dessert wine. Fab food too and lovely place to hang out with old friends. Perfect!

Segunda visita y todavía muy buena comida y servicio. Es un pequeño restaurante, así que lo mejor es reservar una mesa, ya que estaba ocupado incluso a mediados de semana. Everything was perfect! The food is delicious every time and the staff are amazing! We were a group of 12 and the menu we had was just what we wanted and the portions are great for sharing! We had a few dietaries, but they went above and beyond to make sure we hardly even noticed as they catered for them so well!

Went today for the first time and had an amazing experience. Staff are so friendly and helpful and willing to recommend food to us. The food is amazing, delicious with high quality. Definitely will go again.

The atmosphere is a lovely mix of bustling restaurant and warm ‘date night’ bar. The range of dishes on offer was great, we tried six dishes, with the croquetas del dia (cured meats and goats cheese) and chorizo in cider being the stand outs. We’ve tried a few tapas spots in Bristol but Bravas is our number one and new go-to!

Our 2nd time at Bravas. The kids have loved both times. Patatas Bravas, chicken thigh, mouro, croquettas, salad were stand out. But it was all really delicious. Great service and lovely atmosphere too

Perhaps the top tapas restaurant in Bristol. Very good flavours and reasonably priced. I would recommend not to get more than 2 dishes with fried items, as they can be quite heavy. Cured beef meats and chorizo are among my favourites. Had the chance to try venison too, which was delicious. Nice selection of vegetarian options too. For about 8 tapas and 2 glasses of wine, bill came around £70 (including tip), which seemed very fair to me. Would recommend and visit again.

It's a loud and busy restaurant with tasty food. However if you get the gluten free bread expect a laughably tiny portion.

Really cute, but fabulous tapas bar. Food is AMAZING. We've been several times and have never been disappointed. The croquettes of the day and tortilla are soild favourites of mine, the menu changes seasonally so you're always served the best. The specials board is exactly that: SPECIAL.

A very welcoming place. Good food & comfortable whilst also being compact.

We came for a birthday booking and were seated on such a tight table with people either side despite there being loads of other tables. We asked to move to the bar where there was more space and the staff begrudgingly let us move but were quite clearly unhappy about it. We kept being trapped in by stool on the corner which we moved twice only for one of the waiters to keep moving it back (one of our party had mobility issues so this was really frustrating). They had too many staff working in such a small space for how busy it was on a mid week evening and even though there were so many service was slow. Food was average for tapas I’ve had much better - overall my experience meant I wouldn’t go back

STILL Some of the best, most varied, tapas I’ve ever had - anywhere Combined with great G&Ts and fabulous red wine by the glass, it’s a brilliant place to eat - whatever the occasion (we keep coming back!)

I had fish (cod) a la plancha (highly recommended) and chorizo in cider. Both are tasty! The staff are very friendly.

Amazing food and lovely atmosphere, very friendly service. The only reason not to give 5 stars was because they were absolutely at full capacity so it was very crowded and there were a couple of order mix-ups - but still really highly recommended! Not cheap but worth it as it was delicious.

What incredible food, every dish we tasted was amazing. The pastas bravad was the best we’ve ever tasted. The delicate texture of the aubergine with the sweet molasses - beautiful! Thank you for such a fabulous meal.

Food was good, atmosphere was nice. Service was severely lacking. We were sat for our booking and it took 20 minutes before we had any drink or food orders taken. This was particularly frustrating when the same guy who sat us sat their friends next to us (so we know they were sat after us) and had served them and had a nice long chat with them - I know it was their friend/former colleague from another restaurant from the conversation they were having. This meant that before we had even been given water or asked what drinks we want the table sat after us had their wine and starters. We tried flagging the two waiters down to take an order but were ignored multiple times. When we finally had our order taken they didn’t bring 2 out of the 6 things we had ordered, when we flagged this to a third (and very very lovely waiter in the purple top) they apologised and got us one of the missing items (olives were meant to be a starter so we didn’t get those in the end). It’s unfortunate as it really felt like we had become a forgotten table despite being in the middle of the restaurant and it did ruin the whole experience.

Bravas is a vibrant restaurant and the tapas were excellent and authentic. I will certainly return here. The specials of the day were outstanding.

Exceptional quality. Meat board and cheese board are both good options if you're hungry. Otherwise, lots of really well made tapas options. Cozy inside seating or heated outdoor seating.

I live around the corner from Bravas and I haven’t been for a while. I noticed a big change. It really needs a lift. It lacked charm, the food average, service was poor last night and it was half empty at 8:30 on. Friday night. I was charged 10% on service when I would have held it back. I had to wave at the staff six times to indicate I was ready to order, twice for a drink, when food arrived our glasses were empty and my husband had to wave again to remind them he’d been waiting whilst the dishes went cold. We were sat at the bar right under their nose and they were occupied but not busy as it was half full on a Friday evening. There was no one checking the detail on customer (I.e food served no drinks). The food was not as good as before. Cod lacked seasoning, tortilla the same. Lentil dish looked like it had been prepared yesterday again no seasoning hidden under a crusty slice of goats cheese. Atmosphere wise, whilst I like music it was pumping loud to the point I couldn’t hear myself speak. Music is good for atmosphere but people go out for tapas to catch up and to talk. There was an all round lack of awareness going on. Sadly I won’t be back soon and My favourite place is no longer. The owner needs to be mindful that a good product can be ruined by people working for you who don’t share the same passion for food and service. They might think they do but who’s checking what’s coming out of the kitchen, who’s showing the staff what service is about. Who’s running the debriefing meetings. You need staff with an exceptionally good appreciation of food and service to make the magic happen. The magic wasn’t there last night sadly.

Visited recently, this gem is arguably the best tapas bar in England. Let's start with the food, I just have no words, god I can't say just one dish because they are all Wow, then through the setting, absolutely authentic with Spain and last but not least the staff, hats off. Young and friendly people. Thank you, wait for us again soon.

A very happy and bright couple? The restaurant is managed by the restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious food at reasonable prices.It's a bit of a problem because there are only a few tables.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, food is excellent and there is a great variety of vegetarian dishes. Staff are efficient and polite, always eager to help. We have been aficionados for years and Bravas never disappoints us. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Bristol.

In so many ways Bravas is fab: lovely buzzy atmosphere, great and very slick service, generally very good food, but it is rather cramped and the tables aren't big enough to take all the dishes so you have to do a certain amount of table decluttering yourself. Neither of these 2 negatives really bothered me. However, I was rather floored by the prices, and particularly shocked at the cheese platter - 3 very small pieces of cheese, the 2 hard ones being overly dry and rather tasteless, for just under £20!! The Picos blue was delicious though. For me the outstanding dish was the aubergine/molasses. The patatas bravas were rather dry and underwhelming, sadly. A very nice touch of some chocolate truffles on the house for the 2 birthday folk. Thank you for that!

This is such a good Spanish restaurant, simple tapas done with flair and with top quality ingredients. Every mouthful is a delight and the prices are very reasonable considering the competition and quality of food offered here. Service impeccable. Small space so be prepared to squeeze in, even if you’ve booked. The aubergines with molasses are game changing

Really really good food. Great tapas. Don’t miss out on the aubergine in molasses (I know right, but it is amazing). And their take on Patata bravas is great. Friendly staff, buzzy atmosphere and good value. This is one of our regulars. If you want a table on a particular weekend night book ahead but availability is ok if you’re flexible

We had Aubergine chips that were just full of oil. A coleslaw that was tasteless, some mushroom dish that was also swimming in oil and tasteless. Tiny potions that cost £7 each. And really poor service. Sloppy service, they practically chucked the food on the table. Never again!

Lovely service and the food was exceptional

Bravas was a perfect location to celebrate my husband and daughter’s birthdays. We prebooked the group menu and it was fabulous! The food just kept coming - and there was such a huge variety! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The desert platters were especially beautifully presented and were a lovely ending to our meal. It was a fairly warm evening and we were able to sit outside - the atmosphere was great. And the service was friendly and prompt. Bravas is around a 20 minute walk to Bristol Hippodrome - so a perfect place for pre theatre dining. We look forward to returning!

Absolutely incredible food, in particular the Pork was amazing and Martha was a lovely server and we throughly enjoyed our night.

Wow!! What an absolute gem of a place. Booked a late lunch for my partners birthday and the food was exquisite and the service was fabulous. Croquettes were amazing as were the butter chicken wings, but the star of the show was the Belmont estate slow cooked beef stew, which was just unreal. An absolute taste sensation. The sharing desert platter with the pairing desert wine was next level too.

The food was delicious as always. We have been here multiple times as we can always depend on the quality and flavour of the food. Particular stand-outs include croquettes, presa a la plancha & the Spanish sausage with chimichurri (today's special)

I booked a table for myself and my wife to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. As soon as we arrived, we were struck by the friendly atmosphere and chill vibe. The waiters were friendly and helpful, happy to give recommendations. We ended up with a great waiter who was working his way through his first night on the job! He was so warm and friendly and asked his colleagues for advice whenever he needed it. The food was amazing- some highlights were the aubergines with molasses, courgettes with yoghurt and pine nuts, pork with rosemary (my favourite). We had a lovely bottle of wine with it, and had a couple of small starter platters as well as desserts- chocolate truffles and the Spanish equivalent to crème brûlée and had a great meal and a lovely experience.

Genuinely delicious food, although a bit expensive (but then everything is expensive nowadays). Dropped a star as the service wasn't that great. Took 3 attempts to order another drink and nearly 15mins to get our bill. Staff were very nice though.

This is such a brilliant place to go for a night out. Great atmosphere starting with a warm welcome. And such good tapas. My new favourite is tortilla. We enjoyed a romantic wedding anniversary but it’s also a great place to go as a group. You’ll feel like your on holiday!

Walked past the place initially and thought whoa that looks cool we’ll go in there for some drinks after we’ve had our food (which was booked in bravas) only to get maps up because we couldn’t find it even tho we just walked past it, anyway wicked food and staff nice one!

Nice location. Hot day , sat outside. Food is good tapas, but perhaps not brilliant, IMO. TBH I'm wavering between 4 and 5 stars, for the food. However, patas braves was different and delicious, so 5. Service was great. Would go again. High cost us due to 3 glasses of wine and 2 beers

A beautiful, authentic little restaurant down a quaint street in Bristol. There was literally nothing to complain about with Bravas. The food was delicious, served very quickly, and good portion sizes. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Very attentive. The atmosphere was lovely, I did feel like I was back in Barcelona enjoying local food. The Presa a la plancha in particular was exquisite. Highly recommend.

Disappointingly, food very mediocre compared to previous visits. Squashed onto a table unbelievably close to the poor people at the bar who had about an inch to spare. Shame, because it’s usually a cracking place.

Wooooow, what delicious food you can get here. Only Spanish specialties! Delicious! If you add Alice's great service, her smile and her ease, you will definitely spend a wonderful time here, you will leave full, drunk and smiling from ear to ear. I recommend! I will definitely come back here soon.

Went there on a recent trip to Bristol and it was the perfect location for our anniversary meal, the food was amazing authentic tapas, the staff were lovely and super knowledgeable, great atmosphere I hope to be back in the area someday to visit again

On our second visit to Bravas for an early dinner at 5 PM, we found it to be the perfect time before the restaurant filled up. The staff were outstanding—extremely knowledgeable and eager to share their recommendations, which we gladly followed. The food was exceptional, particularly their signature patatas bravas, a must-try staple on their menu. Each dish offered a delightful taste of Spain, making us feel as though we were transported there with every bite. The wine selection was divine, complemented by a range of drinks to suit any preference. I wholeheartedly recommend Bravas and am eagerly anticipating our next visit. My only minor issue was with the online reservation system on my iPhone. It stalled at the bank app stage, so I had to complete the booking on a PC. --- I hope this helps!
