Bravas Tapas in Tower Hamlets

A tapas restaurant like you rarely come across: cooked tapas, perfectly seasoned, special mention for the spinach croquetas and octopus!! The prices are expensive, as in any restaurant of this type, in London moreover... but in view of the quality, I say: GO FOR IT!!

So delicious- prawns wrapped in paseo pepper & shoestring pastry w/ horseradish sauce, lamb chops seared on one side & split in two with tender interior face up with delicious sauce, excellent cheese plate, the bleu nutty & flavorful, lingonberries & quince jelly, & more! Brioche pudding with passionfruit gelato- ridiculous flavor- yum!! And a Great bottle of wine! Bravo Bravas Tapas!! Will recommend

Amazing tapas...try the pork and prawn tapas are to die for

As has been said, the cuisine is very good but not exceptional for my French palate either. The nice setting on the edge of the Marina and a stone's throw from the Towers Bridge BUT Exorbitant price 3 drinks (1 glass of wine, 1 beer and 1 lemonade) and 3 dishes (finally plates with 2 mini Burgers worthy of a cocktail. 1 small fillet of sea bass on a bed of tomato and 1 plate with 4 shrimps) for 56 pounds (65 euros) Obviously no toppings. Unless you plan on this amount per person and even then you will not be satisfied, I do not recommend this place which nevertheless indicates a price range of €€ euros would deserve €€€€ so as not to mislead the customer on the quantity/quality/price ratio. I won't talk about the waiter's mocking laugh when we left the place, implying "more French tourists that we have...."

Fabulous location. Warm welcome from the moment we walked in. Staff friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. We had mixed pickles as a starter to share served in a kilner type mini jar, including garlic cloves, cournishons, olives, chillis and peppers. Light and fresh. We had the pork belly and Yellowtail Tiradito to follow - both excellent and a great choice for a light lunch. We had two glasses of Sangria with the pickles and a bottle of Rioja with the mains both fabulous. Would highly recommend.

This is a real gem in the London food scene. Prices are moderate and food and wine are great. Been coming for last 4 years every time in London and I was never disappointed.

Seating is a bit cramped and the food although lovely, the portions are very small.

We came here on a rainy Sunday. It started off quiet but got a bit busier later. The music was a bit unusual; The decor looked a bit tired so we weren't expecting much but the food was actually very good. The salmon roulade was fantastic; Gambas were also cooked perfectly; decent cheese plate. Potatatas bravas could have been a larger portion and I have had better but they weren't bad at all, and last the Moroccan lamb chops were good quality meat and well cooked. Really enjoyed the food and the experiemce overall.

Second visit to this lovely restaurant. Service was perfect and the food was absolutely lovely! Couldn’t fault anything! Highly recommend

Went here for dinner after work and had unusually bad service for a London restaurant. It took almost 5 minutes of us standing by the bar and multiple staff members noting our presence before a member of staff approached to welcome us and show us to the table, we had arrived on time for our reservation and the other members of staff were not busy serving customers during this time but were wiping tables etc. Waiter was very rushed during ordering and kept trying to walk off as we were trying to finish our order. When the first dish arrived and I removed my napkin from the preset plate, the remains of a pardon pepper from previous guests were on the plate. I asked the staff for a clean plate, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the fact they had provided a used plate, a clean plate was provided with the explanation that this was the only shape of plate they had- I reiterated that the issue was not the plate but that it was used, it wasn’t clear whether this was understood. The dishes were all nice but nothing remarkable compared to the average tapas restaurant in London. The lamb was incredibly fatty and undercooked so that it was largely inedible- we complained about this and a distracted waiter said ‘okay’, disappeared and no further action was taken. 3/4 lamb chops remained uneaten at our table for around an hour before we asked someone to clear the table. We complained about the lamb again and were told that we should have sent it back, we explained we had complained and nothing was done. To the restaurant’s credit one of the two orders of lamb was removed from the bill. When the bill came at the end we politely said we did not want to pay service charge (for the above reason). The waiter said okay fine, stormed away and returned with a bill with the service charge removed which was slammed down on the table in a rude and aggressive manner. No enquiries were made about the issues with our experience or what the restaurant could have done better. The restaurant is in a beautiful location and the ambience is lovely with decent food. Management should urgently carry out training for staff as currently the service is a huge let down to what could be a decent establishment.

Very very tasty food. Enjoyed our visit immensely. Going back for a second visit soon to explore the great menu further.

Staff & food were great. Sat in area out of the main drag & we were the only ones there so lacking main room ambience.

Food was really nice, standouts were the salmon rulada, lamb chops and spinach croquetas. However portions were extremely small and very expensive. A very long wine list, but would have liked more options for alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. My fresco drink was just average and had a lot of ice. Service was quick and attentive. The toilets seemed somewhat unclean. Overall enjoyable but not sure I would go back due to prices.

A wonderful place for an early evening meal before other activities. Views over the dock very calming and food was terrific.

Second time eating here in a year. Don’t be put off by the relatively short menu. Everything is delicious, takes tapas to a fine dining level. Classy fellow diners, only minor gripe is you are packed in.

A great dedicated team that makes you feel like this is a family owned restaurant, working very hard to give you delicious surprises. They succeed in delivering this in a friendly, happy environment. It's nice when you see that the staff is enjoying this as much as you are.

This was my 4th or 5th time here, and in general it didn't disappoint. The food was outstanding as always, and really not that expensive for what you get. My only quibble is that we felt very hurried. We hadn't even finished our glasses of wine when we were asked if we could free up our table for a new customer. But don't let that put you off. It's a great restaurant.

Lovely restaurant, in a nice location, very rustic and lovely ambience. Our favourite was the lamb chops, absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, I would have liked to have seen, more meat dishes, ie chicken or meatballs added to the menu. We were only in 45 minutes, so it seemed a little rushed. But a nice experience

Although the service was good, I missed some Spanish speaking. The portions are very short for the price, which makes you order more dishes and thus pay a fortune for a few grams of food.

Been many times before but won’t be going back again. Food quality has decreased dramatically, as has service.

The food was sensational - ordered around 6/8 dishes for 2 of us and it was incredible, still thinking about the short rib now! The atmosphere was lovely, gorgeous restaurant. A minor thing - felt like the service could’ve been warmer, certain waiters (females) were better than others. Overall the food and atmosphere 10/10 and we will definitely be back.

Went here after a long day out - with 2 kids in hope of a quick food serving, as is usually the case with tapas. We ordered and got no food for over 30mins, realised we are super hungry, we added 2 more dishes to the order. One of which came quickly after (to our surprise) - after which the waiter came asking if we could repeat the initial order again as he doesn’t think it went through!!! Zero sympathy just a total “this is no issue for you” attitude. Then we asked what ice cream they had, the waiter said “vanilla, etc etc ” the child specifically mentioned he’ll be having vanilla. The order came, no vanilla on the selection and again total whatever attitude saying “well yes, we have passion fruit instead”! Have you ever seen a child who is happy with that swap?! Food was nice, be it a bit too salty, but the attitude of handling their mistakes makes me have zero desire to ever come back unfortunately

Respect to the chefs, they cook very well. However, hosts and waiters are absolutely rude, especially a guy called Baal who rudely gave us the bill when we didn’t ask for it simply because we didn’t order a dessert. He even pep talked about hierarchy of older and younger people. It used to be one of my favourite places but since that day - no more.

A fantastic resturant with amazing food and wine - all sensibly priced

The food was excellent - all served freshly cooked and hot. I couldn't fault it. Service was just as it should be - attentive, prompt but unobtrusive. The menu is not all that long but that's probably a good thing and we didn't struggle to find plenty to eat. The non meat/fish options are perhaps a little limited - not an issue for us but worth checking if you are veggie/vegan. The inside of the restaurant is really nicely decorated and comfortable. I can't wait to come again. Pricewise - 2 of us including desserts and one glass of wine, one water, including tip came to £96. That's 'treat' price for me but well worth it. Highly recommended.

It`s a great place, with a great vibe, felt like we were on holiday. The food was totally delicious. It was one of the TAPAS place I have been too.

Great restaurant, I will definitely be back! The food is exquisite, from produce quality, cooking style and presentation. Good wine selection. The service is swift and efficient, there is no wait and the staff very polite and courteous. Ideally located on st Katherine’s Docks with views in the basin and a cosy atmosphere thanks to the well curated decor, this place is now one of my favourites in Wapping! There were three of us and we took 3 savoury tapas each to share followed by a single dessert between us three and were very satisfied by the portions.

Never disappoints! We’ve eaten here several times and the food is always exceptional. Highly recommend to anyone visiting London. It’s in a lovely location with a view of the harbour. A must visit!

The food wasn’t up to its usual standard which was a shame as previously we loved this place. Service was very good and a special mention to Michelle who was outstanding.

Food was delicious, service could have been a little better. We had to ask for the bill a couple times before we received it, and dessert also arrived a good 25 minutes after we ordered it. Overall, wonderful location and ambience!

Independent tapas bar, limited menu choice but very tasty. Manager seemed very intense and constantly ushering our server away so made for less of a relaxing evening. You have great staff so just let them do their job

I travelled on my own for early lunch slot and so excited to have the octopus I was so looking forward to since my first visit. I was given a lovely snug window table overlooking the boats. Service was friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to visit again.

From the moment you walk through the door you are treated like one of the Bravas family, which means efficient customer service without being rushed whether you’re ordering food or drink. The food as always is fantastic that’s why we love going back there.

A really great place to eat amongst a lot of good competition! Limited menu, but that's intentional as the focus is on drinks. Having said that, the food we had was sensational!! Can't speak highly enough of the quality of it. Nice and quick with it being tapas, but staff super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit to eat, and would absolutely recommend having the Brioche pudding as it is next level good!

Excellent good in a good location. Friendly, attentive staff made sure we were well fed. Prices were mostly fair but the cheeseboard at £13 for 5 thin slices felt overpriced. Everything else was spot on though.

Sells foie gras. Very cruel and unethical. Force fed birds then slaughtered. This needs to come off the menu.

We went here for dinner and had one of the best tapas dinners ever, including Spain. We had anchovies, gazpacho, and octopus. The octopus was the best we've had in Europe, but is not as good as in Mexico. Based on what we were served, I think anything on the menu would be excellent. The presentation of the food was top-rank. Will definitely return when possible.

I've eaten here a couple of times, always fab. On a sunny October day we dined on the terrace overlook the beautiful St Katharine Docks. I felt like I was on holiday. We shared vegetarian taps and my partner also tried a salmon dish. Everything is beautifully presented. The service was also excellent.

Absolutely delicious tapas and a good selection. Very attentive and friendly staff and the atmosphere was relaxed but also ideal for a romantic meal on the candlelit table. I hope to be back soon - even just for the spinach croquettes!

The quality of food at Bravas Tapas is fantastic. Great wine selection, well-trained staff and the food was beautifully presented.

Manager and staff both are true professionals, they are polite and give personal attention to any reasonable request.

First came here 2 years ago and enjoyed one of the best meals I have ever had. Knew when we were coming back to London we needed to go again but was sure it wouldn’t live up to the previous experience. I am glad to say I was completely wrong and once again we were blown away by the quality of the food we were served. We opted for 5 savoury dishes between the two of us and although all were excellent, the lamb chops and octopus were particularly special! Make sure and leave space for dessert too as the torrija was sublime. All this in a wonderful location with a chilled ambiance and traditional Spanish music paying quietly in the background. We will definitely be back when we next come to London. Surely it won’t be as good next time… 😉

I recently visited a tapas restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with great lighting and Spanish music playing softly in the background. The menu was extensive, with a wide variety of tapas dishes to choose from. I started with the patatas bravas, which were perfectly crispy and seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The gambas al ajillo were also a standout dish, with plump and juicy shrimp cooked in a garlic and olive oil sauce. The spinach croquetas were creamy and flavourful, and the sliders and lamp were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, with the waitstaff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to make recommendations and answer any questions we had. Overall, I would highly recommend this tapas restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic (and modern) Spanish dining experience. The food was top-notch, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was excellent. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes!
