Brasteds in South Norfolk

Visited for a long delayed Anniversary Treat given to us by our kids, and it was well worth the wait. Ambiance was just right, jazz in the background, lovely intimate decor and smartly turned out, efficient staff.Needless to say the food was exceptional, well cooked and wonderfully presented.After living abroad for some years we have rather struggled to find restaurants who deliver this kind of quality menu for a very reasonable price. Mostly the food is rubbish at a rip off price. How fortunate we feel to have found a gem, we will be back

As usual the food was amazing, as were the staff. Such a shame that Nick the general manager completely ignored some of the quests, but went overboard with attention at some tables. We don’t like fuss but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged and to have been asked if everything was ok. It’s unlikely we will return

We first discovered Brasted over two and decades ago,we were impressed then and we love it now. We like the front of house warm welcome,the way they always make you feel special,the impeccable service and the food is lovely too. Definitely my number one choice in Norfolk. And they comply with all the Covid regulations,well done Brasted

Amazing experience. It’s not one for every night , nor would you want to! As a treat it’s a 5star experience! From the piano music during dinner , to the free included aperitifs , pre and post desert! Loved the menu, service and ambience

Faultless.How very polite and friendly all the staff are without being false. Such a lovely setting and decor inside.It was nice to see a good restaurant serving quality gin and not the standard makes, this goes for the table with numerous whisky and ports etc.The set menu was impeccable and extremely well presented.Extremely memorable and if we ever return to Norfolk we will certainly return.This is not quite L’Enclume in Cartmel but make no mistake this is extremely good.Thank you all for a great night with excellent staff.

For some reason we've never considered Norwich to be fine dining destination but Brasteds put paid to that erroneous view. Simply superb fine dining. Service was very attentive but no in your face. food was incrediible and great choice of wines. We definitely will be back and will recommend

Booked this fantastic restaurant weeks before my birthday trip to Norwich, so glad we did! Staff so friendly and efficient without being too intrusive. A short taxi ride from Norwich city centre brings you out to the beautiful country surroundings of Brasted’s. We were about half an hour early, but were welcomed immediately to the stylish surroundings of the main restaurant. Menu is so enticing and we struggled to make our choices, but settled on the 4 courses, which includes a number of intermediate courses, therefore left extremely satisfied, but not feeling stuffed! Not cheap by any means, but were fully expecting this and thoroughly enjoyed our evening enjoying fantastic wine, drinks and food all served by lovely staff! Look forward to returning when we’re next holidaying in the area!

As a second visit we had a little knowledge of what to come.1st class service all the time.food exalant wine great.rooms very good.no complaints at all. Will we go back YES soon.

We had a wonderful lunch at Brasteds. The food and drink were lovely and the staff were very friendly. We took our 6 month old baby with us and the staff were so accommodating and helpful which meant we could really enjoy our meal. Thanks for a great time and we hope to see you soon!

My Fiancee and I visited Brasteds last night and what a fantastic night it was! We are of course still living in 'COVID times' however it doesn't impact the fine dining experience at all. The waiting staff were brilliant, and it was good to see Ashley and Nick who both took the time to have a chat with each table, everyone was clearly excited to be back (both staff and customers!) They had live music provided by professional pianist Carrie O'Donnell which added to the experience and was very fitting of the setting. The food was amazing just as it was before COVID, each course was delicious, they have a terrific wine selection (I recommend the Chateau Liot dessert wine) and the little extras between courses help make dining at Brasteds a truly memorable evening.We'll be back again very soon.

Amazing restaurant. The staff always make us feel more like friends than customers. Even during Covid it feels really safe eating here as the tables are well spaced out. The food is incredible, authentic Indian food - delicately spiced, tastes and looks fantastic. The prices are very good too. We are both Vegans, there is loads of choice, and it is our favourite place to eat in Norwich. The setting is also great, an amazing building.

We decided to celebrate my daughter's 22nd birthday at Brasted's and it became the perfect decision again.Delicious food, spotless service.Special thank you to the chef who even took the effort to look up how to write "happy birthday" in our mother language (Hungarian) and put it down without any mistakes.We'll be back.

Fuimos como una familia de cuatro. Llegamos alrededor de las 3 pm, nos llevaron al bar de honestidad en la habitación cómoda, un toque muy agradable. Sala de desayunos acondicionada para que puedas tomar una bebida fría o caliente cuando quieras. Luego se muestra a las habitaciones todos los pequeños detalles muy agradables. These people know hospitality. Amazing welcome, great menu with good variety but not over-reaching. Had the 4 course with a bottle of reasonably priced Bordeaux. Every dish was very well judged and timed. Superb beef fillet and out-of-this-world raspberry soufflé. Worth every penny......

Restaurante fenomenal.Me invitaron a una comida aquí para mi cumpleaños y qué delicia fue.Decidimos tener 4 platos cada uno fue una sensación de sabor absoluta. Además de los cursos que elijas, podrás disfrutar de Canap s, Amused Bouche, Pre Dessert y Petit four, ¡así que asegúrate de tener hambre!Lo más destacado de mi comida fue el bouche de venado y champiñones y el postre de merengue de piña y coco.Honestamente, el postre fue el mejor postre que he comido, ¡y lo he comido en muchos restaurantes!Lo único negativo que puedo dar es que no me preguntaron cómo me gustaría que se cocinara mi pato principal, debería haberlo expresado de todos modos, así que eso es mi mal, por lo tanto, el pato estaba un poco terminado para mí. Mi compañero se topó con Brasteds cuando buscaba un fin de semana para nosotros. Qué hallazgo. Nos alojamos aquí por dos noches, la habitación era perfecta, tan encantadora y tranquila. Comimos en el restaurante el viernes por la noche, quedamos tan encantados con una comida que decidimos hacer otra reserva en el restaurante para el sábado por la noche también, ciertamente no nos decepcionó. Ambas noches, la comida fue increíble, realmente recomiendo la silla de cerdo. El restaurante tiene un gran ambiente. Todo el personal hizo que nuestra estancia fuera perfecta, gracias a todos ya Nick. Volveremos.

La primera vez que salimos a cenar desde el inicio del encierro y no podría haber elegido un lugar mejor, o un restaurante favorito, la comida, como de costumbre, era para morirse, bien vale la pena esperar, comenzó con Quail Breast, con un puré de castañas, Buffalo Curd , Pan tostado con consomé de champiñones y queso, suculentos langostinos para el plato de pescado, una deliciosa silla de cerdo confitada para el plato principal y merengue de coco y piña con sorbete de coco y barquillo de piña de postre.Es bueno volver a ver a Nick, aunque no estoy tan seguro de la barba que se había estado dejando desde el encierro, pero estaba ansioso por afeitarse esto al día siguiente, el servicio de mesa fue impecable por parte de Ashley, el gerente del restaurante y su equipo, solo un ¡Una gran noche para todos, no puedo esperar a volver!

Brasted's have got it sussed. From small intimate dinners to bigger functions such as our annual cricket dinner - I've never been disappointed. Whether its catering on the small scale or large the food is always delicious and service attentive. It will not disappoint.

We visited Brasteds for a special occasion with friends and the whole experience was magical. The venue is a hidden gem just outside of Norwich and the venue looked spectacular as we drew up to the restaurant. We were greeted by professional, welcoming staff and were not rushed to take our seats. The evening started with some beautiful canopes over pre-dinner cocktails, where we were presented with both the wine list and the menu. Brasteds proprietor, Nick, who is a fantastic host, was a great help assisting us with his sommelier skills. The wine advice was perfect and the pairings provided throughout the meal were spot on and our red and white wines were extremely well priced. We opted for a four-course dinner, which also came with a number of appetisers between courses that were unexpected and faultlessly delicious. My own meal included; *Sautéed Norfolk Quail Breast, Chestnut Purée, Buffalo Curd, Mushroom Consommé & ‘Cheese on Toast’ *Lemon Scented Crevettes, Spiced Potato Caviar, Light Curry Velouté& Coriander Shoots.*Acle Marshland Beef Fillet, Braised Ox Cheek Faggot, Onion Croquette & Bourguignon Sauce.The delivery and presentation was impeccable and I simply could not fault any part of our meal. The pace of the evening was perfect, we were never rushed, nor did we feel that we had to wait between courses. The restaurant was busy with seven different parties and one of the most noticeable points of the evening being that the service was so slick, that at points during the night, I never even realise that our glasses had been refilled. It was great to see that the waiting staff were so discreet but very customer focused. A really nice aspect to end the meal is that Brasteds have a tradition where diners can visit the after-dinner whisky & cognac shelf and choose their own bottles to be poured. The shelf is so well stocked that with great spirits, that I struggled to choose which drink to have. I need to mention The Coffees... Served without cream should stay just as they are served. They don't need cream. It's the smoothest coffee I've ever tasted. Nick works alongside his restaurant staff and is the most customer focused of restauranteurs. He made a point of speaking with every table during the evening and was the last person to thank us for dining at Brasteds when we departed. The whole experience at Brasteds was stunning and I cannot recommend the restaurant enough. You really must experience it for yourselves! Thank you to all of the staff, front and back of house.......you are superb!!

We went for a meal on a Thursday evening,unfortunately we were two of only six people in the restaurant.It was freezing cold which made the experience unpleasant.The staff were charming,I think sensing there was no atmosphere they tried their hardest to compensate.The food was over priced for for what it was.The best thing of the whole meal was the pre dessert course offering,which was a tiny coconut confection of some sort.Sorry to say it was very disappointing and very very expensive.

Our favourite place for special occasions. Excellent service, amazing food and flavours. This restaurant ticks all the boxes and some. Every table full and rightly so. If you’ve not been before, book and go, you won’t be disappointed!

We booked for a special occasion lunch having been meaning to visit the restaurant for some time. We were certainly not disappointed. Everything from the greeting on arrival to the time we left was 1st class including the venue itself, the staff, the choice of drinks and the excellent food.

Adored the new menu at Brasteds. Autumn inspired themes of game and rich, delicious sauces (though they called them something fancier!) as well as plenty of options for non-game lovers. It was hard to decide what to chose.

Saturday night dinner and all was excellent, as always. We love this place - great food, wine, ambience and service. Full restaurant with great vibe and speedy delivery of all courses.

Just another fabulous experience for dinner. We were treated so well and really taken care of. We sat early as my nephew was dining with us, and got to see all the other happy customers arriving. The fact that 2 of our party couldn’t make it at short notice didn’t fluster the staff at all. Ashley and his team always pull it out of the bag with special touches and attention to detail.

I had a wonderful meal at Brasteds for my 40th. The front of house were outstanding and the fillet steak we had was amongst the best I have ever tasted. Some of my guests loved their discussions with the waitress about the wine selection and we found them attentive through the whole evening. We loved the relaxed atmosphere. My friends have asked when we're going back so we'll be paying a return visit soon. Also loved having a pianist playing throughout the evening.

I had booked this restaurant for a few celebratory reasons- a birthday, a visit from my son and his partner from overseas, a new birth anniversary announcement, and a qualification. Lots to celebrate but I can’t say that the meal will be memorable. I was also influenced by the fact that a great hall in Suffolk use the services of Brasteds for their wedding catering so that ticked that box.

I was taken here last week, as part of my 50th birthday celebrations. The staff were so attentive, happy and friendly. The restaurant itself was small, about 12 tables altogether. Nice and intimate with a lovely ambience. Also a live pianist added to the wonderful atmosphere.

Visited Brasted's for the third time for my wife's birthday.

First time and we will be going again. All food fantastic and not a bad thing to say about service or food.

Brasteds hosted a lunch for my parents 50th anniversary and 50 guests .

Three of us for a birthday dinner. Not been able to go for a while but, quite simply, better than anywhere else.

Last night we had a wonderful dinner with the brasteds team. It was our first wedding anniversary following our wedding hosted by the team last year. I emailed brasteds to ask if it would be possible to recreate our wedding breakfast for our anniversary dinner. I received a prompt response stating that this would be no problem.

Once again this was a special evening for the 2 of us. The food was excellent as usual but it is the overall ambience that wins. Amazing staff who know exactly when to appear. They work hard to provide a seamless and perfectly paced meal. Would give them 6 stars if I could

We had an amazing birthday lunch today at Brasteads, the food was excellent and service very good. We received a very warm welcome from Ash the maitre d’ he took our coats and showed us to our table. First off we had a drink virgin monitors to sip while we browsed the menus. Lots to choose from and some very good vegan and veggie choices. I started with the vegan option and so did my bestie. Rolled celeriac stuffed mushrooms, shallots with an almond velout’e dressed with shoots. We agreed it was very tasty and well presented. For our main dishes I had fillet of sea bream with fondant potatoes and peas. We also shared a dish of mixed veg. The fish was perfect I enjoyed every mouthful. Bestie had the breast of duck served with oyster mushrooms , mushroom dust grapes potatoes and the mixed veg. It to was delicious, we were busy swooping spoons to see who had the best meal. I can honestly say they were both amazing. We enjoyed the attention to detail and the service was very good. Ash talked us through the meal and explained a little how everything was made. Presentation from start to finish is of the highest standard we ended our meal with strawberries soaked in gin served with a granita and white chocolate wafer. Brasteds is top of our list for a place to eat, lovely atmosphere, welcoming and excellent price lunch for two £60.00

We met friends for lunch at this excellent place on a quiet Friday. The food is superb. Portions not too big - this is a failing in so many Norfolk restaurants where they prefer to pile the plate high - and of such high quality. There is a set two or three course lunch time menu on Thursdays and Fridays. Only abut ten minutes for the centre of Norwich and plenty of parking space when you get there.

Having visited most fine dining establishments in Norfolk we were delighted by our visit to Brasteds and wonder why we had not visited until now. Wonderful atmosphere, exquisite food and great company. We will be returning soon.

There is something special about this restaurant. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you feel this. The food is amazing and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable. A gem of a place to visit. We will be returning.

We stayed in Brasteds hotel for three nights, the restaurant was open only on our last night. Having visited two outstanding restaurants on the other two nights, we were delighted to have dined here on our final evening. We all agreed that the Brasteds restaurant was the best of the three. Service was fantastic, and the food was of the highest quality. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Special thanks to Ashley for attentive and friendly service throughout our stay.

Good value lunchtime menu. Superb food making use of seasonal ingredients and local produce combined with excellent service in tasteful and peaceful surroundings. Good wine list too.

I have only been to this restaurant three times before as we reserve it for very special occasions and it's much more expensive than our usual budget. We went once again April 4th this year and had another beautiful, memorable evening. The place is small and quiet, very discreet and very POSH. The service is excellent - the waiting staff make you feel it's their personal job to ensure you have everything you want, they remember what you've ordered, put the serviettes on your lap and clear the table of crumbs between courses. I started with a cocktail - Kir Royale. (They have a huge range of gins if that's your tipple). My partner had the low-alcohol local beer Ghost Ship. The wine list included a very reasonably priced viognier. We loved every morsel of food here. It's a place with thick starched linen, huge spotless glasses, perfectly polished silver-ware; amuse bouche, if you please, and tiny hand-made chocolates. Honestly, you feel like royalty when you dine at Brasteds and we really love it there. There's so much attention to detail!

We came here for a birthday meal on a Saturday night. very impressed with being greated at the door and shown to a small area for pre meal drink. picking out the food and drinks prior to being shown to the table.

We love visiting the restaurant. The service is always excellent and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is well presented and always top quality. We like how the canapés, pre-starter and pre-dessert change each week so there’s always something new and exciting. It always leaves us looking forward to our next visit.

My son and girlfriend took us here for an early Mother’s Day meal. We were greeted at the door and shown to a comfortable seating area where we ordered our drinks and then our meal. The Menu is small but has some different choices. When I eat out I don’t want things I can easily cook at home - I want to try new and different things.

Previous visits have been enjoyable but today’s MothersDay lunch was very disappointing on a number of levels.

As regular visitors to Brasteds over the past few years we have never been disappointed.

One of the best places to eat in Norfolk and it’s a real treat to come here every time. The dining experience is perfect with very attentive staff who make you feel at home from the minute you arrive.

Hadnt been to Brasteds for a year or two but last night showed what I have been missing. As before superb menu beautifully presented and served by personable, knowledgeable and efficient staff.

Went to this restaurant on recommendation, and was not initially disappointed. during the evening the food was excellent , and across our group we had a varied selection across the courses and there was no bad selections. the service until we reached deserts was attentive without being too obtrusive. At 9.30 we inform staff we need to be gone by 10, which didn't seem a problem as only desserts remained outstanding.

Another lovely dining experience at Brasted's with their excellent staff. One of our party has an intolerance which the staff were made aware of and this was admirably catered for. This was the first night with a new menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Thank you Nick, Ashley and the Staff.

Went there this Saturday with my girlfriend and my mother and her partner.

What a wonderful experience. We dined here for a treat and it was well worth it. Pure class. A welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, but who don't intrude. The food is quality, I would've expected to pay more! The wine was great, we shall be returning!

The restaurant is open Thursday Friday and Saturday. The experience is super, staff are friendly and very attentive ( especially Alice ) , the food is generally wonderful. There are canapés served as well as several amuse-bouche during the meal which is lovely. The ambiance is fab and on a Saturday there is a pianist. Of course it’s quite expensive ( not outrageously so £300 for four people with three bottles of wine) but all in all worth every penny. Book early as its very popular.

Tengo un menú aparte e incluso los canapés, amuse bouche y petit fours son adecuados para mí. Atención al detalle, excepcional! ! Para una noche especial, este restaurante es una visita obligada.

We took my parents to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The service and food was perfect from beginning to end. Never experienced anywhere like it. Pianist was fantastic too; wonderful touch. We will be back to celebrate our 25th Anniversary next year. Thank you.

Brasteds is the pinnacle of local dining. It has earned an enviable reputation and thoroughly deserves it. Everything about our visit was perfect from the moment we arrived. The food, of course, was exceptional and the service was just spot on. Strangely we had not been before, but this won't be our last visit.

From arrival you are warmly and genuinely welcomed. Canapés while you choose from the menu. Locally sourced food and what's in season. All courses are super from fish to rabbit and all with veggies. Flavours and textures combine beautifully, truly a gifted chef! Petit fours at the end of the meal are divine!

Since moving to Norfolk last October, we have been looking for somewhere for 'special' occasions, and this fits the bill. Not only is it a lovely setting with terrific food, which was a delight for the eye as well as the palate. Has a calm efficient feel, staff superb but not intrusive, just the right volume of mellow jazz, you can hold a conversation and actually hear each other. A tucked away gem, and the prices mean it doesn't even have to be a special occasion, affordable fine dining.

Forty plus of us and amazing food and evening. Would definitely recommend this lovely place. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I've eaten at Brasteds many times over the years and consider it to be one of the best restaurants we've dined in. I remember the first time I visited with my girlfriend a few years ago, and to be honest we were blown away with the whole dining experience. We have since been back many times with friends and family.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Brasted’s last night with tremendous food and a room in the lodge. The staff are completely amazing and really attentive, and the food is absolutely the best in the county. What a treat. Such a fabulous experience.

Visited Brasteds for the first time in April 2018 for a relative’s birthday. We were a party of 8, including 3 vegans and 3 vegetarians. Setting, service and food all truly fabulous. By far the best dining experience in Norfolk, possibly in East Anglia. Would visit again 100% and would highly recommend.

We were a party of 7 celebrating my sisters birthday, and what a treat she was in for. It feels special as soon as you arrive, warm welcomes from the staff, wonderful area to sit with canapés, cocktails, champagne, oh and not forgetting the great selection of gins! I love the colour scheme, feels opulent, warm red walls, gold mirrors and cream leather furniture. Wonderful touches such as the piano being played while you dine. All that before we even get to our table and to the fantastic food. We have been before, but Brasteds is getting better and better, the beef and duck was so tender, my 19 year old Nephew even came out with words such as 'fantastic', so 'tender, 'beautiful, trust me we nearly fell off our chairs as normally we just get a grunt when we ask how his food is! Every course was perfect and good portion sizes too. The Brasteds team even ordered our taxis and gave the girls yummy bags of brownies to take way. It was absolutely wonder and we can not wait to return - Thank you Nick and team, keep it going, you have created something very special !

A great place to visit for outstanding hospitality, outstanding food and, although expensive, reasonable value for a special occasion.

My son's wedding was a delight, the whole day was very special to me and my wife and the event was made even more special due to the excellent staff and food, the day flew by which in it's way was a shame.

Visiting family in Norwich, For me Norwich for the size of the city doesn’t have many hi end places to eat .... however was bowled over with this place.... service amazing , Wine menu fantastic and Food + Menu was outstanding, surely worthy of a Michelin Star i would say!! Didn’t see that coming.. will certainly return when visiting from London next time!

Had a wonderful meal at Brasteds. The venue is very pretty and romantic - pianist playing live. Nice ambience soft lighting, tables not too close together and not too noisy that you can have a nice conversation. The food is amazing - easily on a par with Benedicts and Roger Hickmans. We had a mixture of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes with canapes, amuse bouche, pre dessert, non alcoholic cocktails, bottle of wine all for just over £150. Amazing value for the quality of food we enjoyed. The service was excellent from all staff, attentive but not overly and friendly.We were given a bag of complimentary brownies just as we left which I thought was nice touch. I would highly recommend this place which is in a lovely setting just outside Norwich. We will definitely return.

Perfect from start to finish. Fantastic service and amazing food. Our Friends had never been before and they said it was the best meal they have ever had. What more can I say!
