Brasserie Blanc in Chichester

Lovely staff but prices have now increased and certainly the buger I ordered had halved in size so very disappointed now and we won’t be returning at these prices levels. Eating out at £100 plus for two is a ridiculous rip off, on a weekly basis more than people’s monthly mortgage payments. I would like to see these chains go under to force down prices and rents. On top of that adding a service charge means a small GLASS of wine is now as much as a Bottle in a supermarket.nJust how mad do they think customers are ?

Éramos un grupo de 7 para el almuerzo. El servicio era excelente y la comida era muy buena. Estábamos mezclados en nuestra elección. Algunos tenían prix fixe, otros tenían el 25% de la red. La factura llegó sin nada. Esto se corrigió rápidamente. He estado varias veces y este restaurante nunca decepciona.

Aprovechamos la oferta de "botella de vino gratis con dos filetes" y no nos decepcionó. Disfrutamos de pan, chapuzones y aceitunas como entrada que estaban deliciosos. Nos ofrecieron pan extra sin preguntar. Pensamos que como era una oferta especial la comida y bebida podría no ser de primera calidad pero era todo excelente, en particular el vino. Liam nos cuidó muy bien.

En nuestra visita del martes por la noche, el tipo que nos sirvió, tenía una manera muy extraña. Aunque encantador para mi esposa, parecía reacio a reconocer que yo estaba en la mesa, a pesar de mis esfuerzos por ser amigable e interactuar con él. El servicio fue profesional y empresarial, pero no sonriente, brusco y no el enfoque acogedor e inclusivo que hemos recibido en otros restaurantes Brasserie Blanc y Heartwood. Fue incómodo y arruinó una velada por lo demás excelente. Huelga decir que la comida era excelente como siempre, pero pasará un tiempo antes de que me arriesgue a esta experiencia de nuevo en la sucursal de Chichester. No busco una disculpa de BB sino que alguien le señale el efecto que su manera tiene en los clientes, para salvar a otros comensales de la misma experiencia.

Mi hijo me llevó a almorzar el día de las madres. Mi compañero también fue invitado. El camarero era atento y el servicio era muy bueno. Mi hijo tenía una hamburguesa que le gustó mucho junto con los cócteles! Mi pareja y yo cenamos pollo asado. La comida era agradable. Nos gustaría más verduras y más variedad. Aunque dice patatas sin fondo, no se nos preguntó si nos gustaría más, sí podríamos haber preguntado, sin embargo, creo que en este tipo de establecimientos se nos debería haber ofrecido. Pedimos salsa extra, que recibimos, pero era muy acuoso y sin sabor. ¡Tiene que ser más espeso y sabroso! El desierto era delicioso. En general, una buena comida, pero en el lado caro. Mi única copa de vino, cena asada con solo 2 patatas asadas, verduras limitadas y salsa acuosa insípida no valía £ 50, a pesar de que el postre era delicioso! La mayoría del personal llevaba pantalones vaqueros y no me pareció apropiado "si" los propietarios están tratando de decir que el restaurante es una "mejor clase" que otros restaurantes en Chichester.

Busy restaurant but the food and service were first class. Asked to move our table of 8 to a slightly quieter adjacent table and request accommodated without any issues. The manageress was brilliant- pitched in with the staff and very welcoming and hospitable. We dined on Mother’s Day so well done to all the staff here for being such a class act even late into the afternoon.

Great place for a celebration or a casual evening. Always friendly and efficient

There is always a friendly welcome and recognition from staff we have seen before. There is a lot of competition in Chichester but we keep coming back here as it is good value for money and good quality

This is a very good restaurant for the price of an average one. Our starters - beetroot terrine and goats cheese tart - were tasty and not too copious (we don't like it when they overfeed you at the start). Our mains - risotto and Pithiviers, both vegetarian - were good as well, the service attentive and the atmosphere pleasantly smart (no music, hurray!) Wine: stick with the perfectly adequate house red: the fancier pinot noir is not worth the extra expense. We'll return there.

Such yummy food. Food portions arent big but would work perfectly for a three course dinner to try more food across the menu. Quite quiet when we went but great interior. Amazing service.

It's a nice atmosphere and service were good but the food was a big let down. I went for a seasonal special of pheasant and unfortunately it was dry and tough, for £24 I would expect a much better quality dish. it was a bit style over substance. My friend went for steak, which looked like a much better option.

Really good food, attractively presented, generous portions and very professional service. Charles our waiter was absolutely great and really looked after us even though we were a large table of 14. Will be back!

Visited many times my favourite restaurant in this area. well presented tastes good and high quality. Staff are professional and friendly. If you haven't tried it it should be at the top of your list

We met with friends for Sunday lunch and initially the service was good with a warm welcome. My guests thought their meals were just ok, though the roast beef was pronounced tough, but my chicken was dry, tasteless and tough. The roast potatoes were the highlight of the meal! The Yorkshire pudding was hard and all the vegetables were overcooked and unpleasant. The cauliflower cheese did not appear to have ever seen cheese and was dry. A real pity since we were looking forward to the occasion.

We needed a quick evening bite. Saskia was absolutely fabulous. Just excellent service. Garlic butter was a cold blob so next time that needs to be the same as the steak but hey with service this good that’s no biggie. Visited for the first time just before Christmas for lunch. This place has a really nice feel, the staff that served us were excellent and the food was very good. Can't wait to return in January.

We had a 3 brothers Christmas family meetup with 10 of us last week. We ended up taking about 3 and a half hours over lunch, and were well looked after. An event that, like many family events can have a little anxiety in the buildup, turned into a memorably wonderful afternoon. A minor mistake with the order was dealt with really well and didn't matter at all, everything else was so great. Thank you

Another excellent evening at BB Chichester where we all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our starters, mains and desserts. Special mention for the chicken supreme and the cheese souffle starter but actually all the food was top-notch. And we didn't regret breaking our usual rule and going for desserts - chocolate maquise and an autumn still life compilation. Our server, Saskia, was very helpful and friendly and all told this was a very enjoyable evening.

UPDATED REVIEW - Went for the Christmas menu and though the starter and sweet were good, the turkey main was bland, dry and tasteless. Small portions of sparse vegetables were dotted around the plate which looked like a cat was playing with the food before it got to our table. For £44 per head, it was VERY POOR VALUE. It was a £25 meal at best. I gave the 3 stars essentially for the crumble which saved it. Dine here if you have vouchers to bring the cost down to a reasonable level, or if you have money to burn on pretentious food.

This is a delightful place, parking very nearby, delicious food at a reasonable price, but it is the service that really sets this place apart, smiling, discreet ,attentive and knowledgeable a credit to the hospitality industry. A wonderful lunch, such a treat,we will definitely be back

This is a great place to eat and visit. The food is amazing, the service is great and if always has a great atmosphere.

Yet again, we had an excellent meal. My only niggle was that the crab starter was very small...felt rather hard done by when my husband tucked into a very delicious cheese souffle! Our server was a lovely older lady who was very thoughtful and attentive. I have to say we have never had a bad meal here and long may that go on!

It was my mum's birthday and everyone in the restaurant made the whole table of 17 feel really welcome. From speaking to Sam when I booked the restaurant, to dealing with Gina in the run-up and our waiter (Charles I believe!?) all night, everyone was lovely and the food was fantastic - nothing but lovely comments from everyone who came. The team went the extra mile to set up the room beforehand with decorations and a special dessert as well for her birthday. So thank you for making the night so smooth and going the extra mile, would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Great place for lunch. There were only two of us on this occasion but we felt well looked after and the ambience was great.

As per normal stunning service from Saskia and Liam. Other restaurants really need to come here and see how service should be done. The food was again awesome. Chichesters best restaurant for all round everything. Highly recommended.

First visit with my daughter, every course was delicious, the cheese soufflé was one of the best I’ve had, tasty fillet steak and delicious desert. Would highly recommend and Liam Wright was our waiter…….Brasserie Blac are lucky to have a such a lovely young man working for them.

Friday evening dinner for 4. Nice atmosphere. Service after the initial contact rather slow. Food was good, although dishes could have been hotter. V good value with discount of cheapest course. Worth a visit.

Probably the best vegan meal we've ever had in a restaurant! A wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and the most delicious food made with love and care. Starters were Beetroot terrine with horseradish sorbet and Celeriac Fondant with walnuts. For Mains, we had Artichoke and Mushroom Pithivier with port and red wine sauce and Roasted Muscat Pumpkin Risotto with spiced sweet potato. And for dessert, an apple and blackberry crumble with vegan custard. Vegan heaven!

Lovely pre-Theatre meal. The traffic was bad leaving Walton on Thames and Weybridge so we were delayed but they moved us back 30 minutes from our 5.30 p.m. booking without any problem. Next time I hope to relax a little more into the ambience..

A rare 15 stars utter delight. We were turned away from the pub next door (thank you God) so blundered into Brasserie Blanc where they welcome dogs in a private area. Snails and trout tartare starters, duck confit and bouillabaisse mains followed by crème brûlée and espressos. Divine food, cheerful attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere left us pinching ourselves because this is rare indeed. Well done and thank you.

We had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening, the restaurant is located away from the town centre but is only a 10 minute walk from the train station. We were promptly greeted at the door and seated, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu has plenty of options, we had starters, mains and desert and even tried escargot (snails) which were surprisingly pleasant and I would recommend trying. Everything we ordered was delicious and we will certainly return again to try some other things on the menu. The food was amazing as was the wine, add a great atmosphere and service - I would highly recommend.

My husband and I got happily accommodated on a busy night without booking previously which was that we thought lucky and very good of them. They truly deserve this 5 star rate as the food was delicious, presentation and the choice of drinks were great. Lovely stuff and nice atmosphere. We will be going back and will recommend to friends. Have been going for years. It's a sort of family meeting place. We come from different places in SE and have a lovely lunch and good catch up. One of my favourite restaurants.

Another great meal at this superb restaurant. The waiters were very jolly, helpful & good at their jobs. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food was delicious & well presented. Shame it's not nearer to home.

The food is always excellent. We have never had a bad dish yet. I always have two starters and no mains. My husband has a starter and a mains and the staff are happy to oblige whatever we want. The vegetarian starter tarts count as a mains for me as they are always delicious and enough for me.

Lovely Sunday evening dinner. Great service, lovely food and not too noisy (my mum is hard of hearing). The Viognier wine was delicious as was the IPA on draught.

Delicious new summer menu. Well worth a visit to Chi BB. Our server was a lovely young man (can't remember his name) who looked after us very efficiently. We were going to the theatre,so our supper was served speedily but we were not hurried at all. Excellent.

After visiting Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons last year we thought we would give Brasserie Blanc a try. We were impressed, great lunchtime menu, attentive staff and special offers too - in our case free wine ! Very good on gluten free requirements - chef came to check with me on some of the ingredients.

We had a lovely dinner, with Jazz. Dogs are allowed in one area of the restaurant.

Delicious pork chop and potatoes dauphenoise, seating for 9 arranged an hour before. Very good meal! Thankyou!!!

Food, wine and service is to the level to be expected, it is very good. The tables are generously spaced to give a good sense of spaciousness and contribute to the ease with which wheelchairs users and others can navigate the restaurant. A high end establishment with a very welcoming and non-stuffy atmosphere. The souffles are of another world; made by angels, intended for the gods and consumed by mortals! 🙂

We travel fromSurrey to visit Brasserie Blanc, why? Fabulous food, great service and ambience. A table of 3 and we all had different dishes from starters to puds, wonderful. Try the duck confit OMG I can’t wait to go back for more, just how duck should be, crispy on the outside , with no fat layer, with tender meat. Accompanied by citrus jus😋

Evening meal on a short visit to Chichester. Enjoyed Dressed Crab and Trout as our mains. Well thought through as dishs and very well made and presented. Most enjoyable. Good service, sufficiently attentive with being pushy. Recommended, and we will be back.

I appreciate that sometimes the kitchen can be stretched or things go wrong, but I think it would be better to inform the customers rather than leave us to wonder and needing to ask for progress reports on our food. Maybe bring out some bread on the house and say unfortunately the meal will be delayed by n minutes? In the end our puddings were deducted from the bill (thank you) but this was at the very end. However the food wasn't great either. The cheese soufflé was fine but the accompanying sauce was like wallpaper paste, too thick and no discernible flavour. The main, ravioli, was very small, I think 6 pieces. So, quite disappointing. The raspberry cheesecake had three small raspberries on the side. I think this is stingy. UPDATE: BB got in touch and encouraged us to give them a second chance. The portions and food was much, much better on the second visit. I've revised 2* to 4* Thank you :-) Having said this, the friendly staff obviously were trying hard.

Wandered past this restaurant and found a warm welcome. They make each dish freshly so chef was able to accommodate some tweaks to what was on the menu and I was able to eat with confidence. Our waitress Caitlin took great care to ensure she had listened to the detail of what my needs were and conveyed them to chef, returning to assure me that they could prepare a dish within the temporary limits of what I can currently eat. I had delicious fish with a fat free watercress sauce and gorgeous seasonal vegan tables whilst my friend was able to enjoy tasty Devon crab.

We had a lovely evening meal at Brasserie Blanc during our weekend in Chichester. Each course was delicious and the wine was delightful. Wonderful service too.

I visited with a friend for an early evening dinner. This was my first time visiting the restaurant. The restaurant and atmosphere was nice. The Waitress was polite but kept trying to upsell us things which became a bit much. I fully expect staff to do it but it felt like she wasn’t listening at times when we actually ordered because she was so focussed on trying to get us to order more. We ordered a baguette to start with which was okay. It wasn’t the usual crunch baguette you’d get in most French restaurants. We ordered mains consisting of half a chicken and sausage / mash. This course was lovely and I particularly enjoyed the sides of French beans and French fries. Desert was a little bit of a let down. I had the Crème Brûlée which had been heated for a little too long and had begun to coagulate (I think that’s the right word!). All in all food was good, atmosphere was okay albeit not quite as traditionally French as I’d hoped, service was all in all fine. I will go back but I won’t rush back, particularly for the price as it was quite pricey.

Lovely restaurant let down by the food and price. We had a Sunday roast, and the service and feel was great, but when the food came out, the lamb was tasteless. The plates were cold, and all in all, it just about reached average . I would never go there again.

April2023 Shout out to the chefs (John), Rita and her lovely crew for we had a wonderful time at Brasserie Blanc. Our orders were taken and all served at the same time. We were able to bring our own wine without any corkage that Monday night as that was their promotion. We were served basket bread with spreads to enjoy prior to our mains arriving. My chateaubriand was perfect. I know they said its for 2 but I can easily scoff it down 😊 beef was medium rare and perfectly seared on all its sides. Tender and juicy. Side salad and fries included. Yes, fries -- crunchy and not too heavy since they werent chips which made me very happy. I tried some of the beef bourgignon it was very tender like it didnt need any chewing 🤣 love the sauce it came with. It has been simmered very well for it to have that consistency and texture. I tried some of the chicken balloutine -- juicy and seasoned so well. Always a lovely time here. This place is special to me. 😊 Dinner out with friends - quick catch up and celebrating lifr and friendship Jan2024 I have spent memories here with friends and loved ones. Met up with four mature friends for lunch. The food was good, although slightly expensive, however it is the staff that made the visit such an enjoyable experience. All were extremely professional, knowledgeable about the restaurant in general and at the same time very friendly,. A special mention to GALVIN who was an absolute credit to Raymond Blanc. He was professional, very helpful, nothing was too much trouble and had the biggest smile constantly. Whatever he ends up doing in the future, he will be an asset to whoever employs him. Thank you to all.
