I’ve been twice and plan definitely to go again. Staff are lovely, never rushed. Food is amazing, wonderful atmosphere, perfect place for me and my friends x

We booked for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. I love the way they cook the vegetables, and the beef was so tender. You can have bottomless roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding if you wish. We followed up with a sticky toffee pudding, which was delicious. The service was exceptional - Will looked after us yesterday and he was so engaging and friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great too!

I have been to the Highwayman many times, it never disappoints. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere great and the choice and quality of food excellent. It is definitely my go to bar and restaurant in Berkhamsted either for a drink and/or a meal with family and friends. Plus if you sign up to the Highwayman's app. you will be kept appraised of seasonal changes to the menu along with frequent special offers which are an added bonus! What is there not to like?

Been here 2 times this month. 1st time with my dog where I sat in the garden and had 2 courses from their September menu. Steak and chips was so good, also the chocolate marquise desert was just amazing! Staff were brilliant too. Just come back today for a pint and the staff are just as warm and welcoming. Great pub and great people.

We had the most fabulous Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. 9 adults and 3 children and every meal was perfect. Everyone in particular commented on the beef, it was delicious and so lean. Big shout out to the chefs. Service was excellent and staff really attentive. We will definitely return.

We went to the Highwayman for a family meal. The food was very good, I couldn’t fault it. Service was good. The only downside was that they didn’t take cash so I ended up having to buy all the drinks as my other half didn’t have a card.

Excellent Sunday roast for Father’s Day. Excellent service and delicious food. No complaints. We were sat at the far end of the restaurant and was lovely and a bit quiter.

Very friendly staff , had a couple in the bar and went downstairs to eat . Service and food great - cheese soufflé and fish soup fab and a rare chateaux briand all brilliant. Was served a slightly old tasting red wine in a carafe but once we mentioned it , it was replaced with no fuss . Will be going back again .

I visited with some friends having not been to The Highwayman in Berko for a number of years. I’ve always liked The Highwayman with a nice atmosphere, but a lovely separate restaurant also. The food was delicious, especially the sticky toffee pudding which I highly recommend (with ice cream). We had Pie & Steak for main courses which were equally good. My only qualm I had was that I thought the service was lacking. We had to chase our drinks order, and even ask the staff to take away dirty glasses as our table was cramped. Overall, a lovely meal out and would definitely return

Im sorry such a rip off £18 for this is just shocking. Venue needs to review its pricing! Service is great but there has to be a time your paying just too much for a basic meal

We moved to this area three years ago and thankfully didn’t have to wait too long to try The Highway Man which was recommended by our daughter. Now whenever friends come to visit us this is the restaurant of our choice. Food is always delicious, staff are attentive and atmosphere is good. The Lamb Roulade was lovely along with the Sticky Toffee pudding I had for dessert. Definitely recommend

Visited here with family on a Sunday afternoon. Nice cosy setting, has a pub and a restaurant. Kids loved the kids menu and word search and puzzles. Service was very good, promptly met and served. Attentive and very polite. Food was really good, lovely starters and great mains. Would highly recommend.

My sister and brother-in-law were visiting and we wanted a nice dinner out....which we had. The service was excellent (absolutely nothing to criticise), food very good and wine reportedly very nice (I was driving). A bit cool initially until more people arrived. Not at all too noisy even though there was a pub quiz going on upstairs. Highly recommended.

We took advantage of the 50% off mains during January and booked a late afternoon table for dinner (Saturday 6th) The service and food was absolutely great. When we arrived the place was quite full so I had my doubts but we were not at all let down. A really nice treat to have the option of wine carafes instead of glasses / bottles went down a treat for us. Our starters and mains were flawless followed by the best sticky toffee pudding we have ever had, this was very kindly taken off the bill as we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. All in all a fabulous evening and we will definitely be back!!! We had fish soup, goats cheese tart, lamb roulade and stone bass (all divine!)

Always an excellent experience. The food and wine choices cater for all diners. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and comfortable with attentive staff making sure that all is well. See you all soon.

Thought I’d take my wife for a quick drink in what looks like a nice pub. Large white wine and a pint of IPA, £19! It’s Berkhamsted not Paris. Won’t be going back. Oh and my nephew thought of me when he paid £16 for a gin and tonic the night after.

Good atmosphere and service. The roast was good but unfortunately the gravy was watery vegetable gravy which really makes a difference to a good roast dinner. If it wasn’t for the bad gravy I would of loved to have gone back as it was a lovely pub.

Lovely warm atmosphere, delicious pork ribeye and lamb roulade. Very yummy sticky toffee pudding with a special crisp on top. Friendly capable service. All at a price that didn’t break the bank. I’ve been before and will go again.

We arranged a dinner for a 70th birthday and 15 family members. We were seated in a great room at the back of the restaurant which was full of natural light, a bit like an Orangery.
