The restaurant offers well-prepared British food at reasonable prices. Service is swift and friendly. There is a good wine list with plenty of choice at the cheaper end. Vegetarians and vegans are catered for as well as those after a good meat meal. The chefs clearly take a pride in presentation and desserts are better than average. This restaurant is worth the journey into the hills on the outskirts of Gloucester.

The place is cozy. They served small amount of starter- (hot wings ) expensive for the amount they charged. The belly pork, needs more gravy. The chocolate brownies that they served taste like a chocolate cake. Presentation is very poor.

I have covered the Brasserie in my overall review but would say that the young lady did have a sense of humour by-pass despite us being very nice customers. Later on given a second chance she did admit that she had been really busy and was quite a different person. All`s fair sometimes given a break.

My fiancé and I visited 26/8/22 and were both looking forward to a relaxing meal at this once lovely restaurant. So much has changed. Rooms stripped of all character and style and is now a large bare room with the most basic table and chairs. Upon arrival we were greeted with a" hello please hold on a moment" and we waited several minutes whilst the young lady played with her computer. Seated at our table we first noticed that because of a lack of furniture and missing curtains the noise from all the other diners was causing such an echo it was like being at a noisy indoor swimming pool. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive and food menu has no descriptions of what is on the plate like you see everywhere else. I had the Chicken Tikka skewers as a starter which when arrived was two thumb size pieces of cold chicken drowning in a pool of yogurt with a pile of finely chopped lettuce which was a total letdown. My fiancé ordered the crispy squid in salt and pepper coating which was lovely and plenty of it. My Main was advertised as( Beer battered fish and chunky chips with mushy peas ) but in reality what I received was not much more than a decent sized fish finger which was tasteless and the (chunky chips) which were cold, were not chunky and tasted nasty, like old oil or they had been cooked then re-fried and looked like any cheap frozen chip you buy at a store. The mushy peas was more of a watery pea soup. My fiancé ordered the belly pork which came with a thin watery gravy, peas beans and three potatoes. She said the potatoes were lovely but the meat was more of a very small pork joint, tough and chewy with little flavour. We skipped pudding as we were worried these also wouldnt be great and took our drinks ( Gin & Tonic served in pint glasses as they were short on glass wear) outside to the patio seating area over looking the garden where the tables were filthy. Ashtrays full of cigarette butts and empty or part filled glasses. We went we tried we won't return.

My husband and I always return the Bowden Hall for our wedding anniversary having got married there in 2016. Our most recent visit did not disappoint. I had booked online. When we arrived, they had us booked in for afternoon tea. Could have been my mistake or theirs but there was absolutely no issue in turning it into a dinner! Jenny was a great waitress. Attentive but not too over bearing. It was quiet so she could easily have been almost too attentive, but she judged it perfectly. The food was delicious. Lovely atmosphere. Wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. Having been elsewhere 7 days previously for Mother's Day (which was disappointing and expensive) this trip also reminded us what value for money it is. And the quality really is superb. Will be back...and hopefully before our next anniversary!

We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant for my birthday (there was even an extra chef's menu) and breakfast. The food was nicely cooked and there were no choices unavailable. All of the staff very helpful and charming.

Been here before and experienced rubbish service. Sad to say it’s just as bad as previous visit, also sad as I’d forgot I’d been here before. Oops. Won’t happen again.

We arrived in Stroud mid afternoon on a Saturday. The kids were starving and every other place we tried to get into was in the process of shutting. Despite Stroud being packed, Milano appeared to be the only place open that was still doing lunch or any type of food for that matter ! The lady behind the counter was super friendly and everything that we had to eat was tasty and really good value too. My youngest especially liked the Spag Bol and the proper milk shake made with ice cream. Don`t be put off by some of the reviews on here, it`s a nice place and really friendly. Just don`t go in expecting a restaurant, the clue is in the word cafe !

Very nice pub, we randomly stopped here because it was on our way to a ghost hunt in the area, and we are so glad we stopped here, the pub was nice and clean, the mother daughter team that run it was really friendly, and the food was outstanding, very well presented, great prices and yummy! We are going back in December and I’m very much looking forward to it.

The building and setting at Leaf and Ground is beautiful. I’ve been here before but never eaten in the cafe so wasn’t sure what to expect. We pre-booked a table as we were meeting a friend with their family, making our group 9 people (4 adults and 5 kids). They did charge £5 per person as a deposit but we were glad we could book a guarantee a space for our party. Service was a little slow at points, drinks took awhile to arrive and had to grab someone’s attention to order food. However the food didn’t take too long - it was also delicious and very good quality. I had the chicken parm which was tasty, and my husband had ham, egg and chips, both were very decent sized portions. I would agree with other comments about the kids fries being salty, they were fine to my taste but the kids weren’t especially keen (they don’t normally have salt on their food) - so it might be worth taking that on board for future. We then enjoyed a walk around the grounds after lunch (the kids loved romping around the woodland area). We then had a stop at the kiosk for ice cream/milkshakes, followed by a trip to the kids play area. A very pleasant way to spend a sunny October afternoon and we will be back :)

Delightful and charming cafe and tea room at the southern end of Frampton village green. The homemade cakes were delicious . Light lunch, lots to choose from All items are reasonably priced, well presented, good quality food and love the atmosphere and traditional ambience of this cafe. Staff we found friendly and helpful when ordering our food. We had jacket potatoes, prawns & coronation chicken, both came with salad. We would recommend visiting. Also even more grateful as I left my handbag behind when we left,They kindly put it behind the counter, they remembered us and as soon as we walked back into the cafe they handed it to us without us even having to ask. Thank you xxx
