Sadly, we arrived just before 3 pm, and despite checking the cafe was open and paying the parking, it was not a great experience. We were told there was no food available, just cake and drinks. Luckily, there was soy milk as my daughter is vegan but no vegan cakes. We sat down and one of the staff began mopping the floor around us with strong bleach , which made the coffee taste awful, we were reminded the cafe would be closing in 10 minutes despite it only being 3.35pm. The electric shutters were then lowered. As we got up to leave and were taking my granddaughter out of her highchair, my daughter was asked to move the chair she had just risen from. In 20 years of working in hospitality, these two staff could have cleared a pub during covid curfew, and that's saying something. One staff member drove off before we had even left the car park at 350 pm. My advice is to keep driving and go somewhere you are welcomed and your money over the counter is valued.

Nice traybakes. It was a shame that when we went they were literally piling up all the chairs onto tables and bleach washing the floor, even though we were still sat there. They were still open.

Helpful staff in this good little, dog friendly café. Sells ice creams, breakfasts, sandwiches, baked potatoes, cakes, toasties and wraps. Has outdoor seating area too, overlooked by a parliament of carved wooden owls. There is also a picnic area just opposite. The café is close to the car park, so suits for beginning or end of walking, which is good, varied terrain with good views and plenty to occupy kids.

We were visiting the walkway for the first time in many years, and after our perambulation we decided to try the. Cafe, new since we were here last! We both chose a spicy cheese scone and tea. The tea was excellent, but only 3 cups in the pot between 2 of us, luckily we did not come to blows. The scones however, were a different kettle of fish altogether. Spiced with chilli flakes and finely chopped jalapeños, with a good amount of cheese. These are not for the faint hearted half the size of a football, good flavours all the way through! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, clean and tidy and dog friendly. The toilets clean and odour free, always a good thing. Well worth a return visit.

This café forms part of the Visitors Centre at Guisborough Forest and Walkway at Pinchinthorpe - near Guisborough. It is quite small but conveniently located for walkers and visitors to the centre. There is a very large car-park near-by. This makes this venue a convenient spot for motorists on the A171 and A173 roads to ‘stop off’ and have a beverage and/or a small snack. As the café is deemed ‘pet-friendly’, it is also in a convenient location for dog-walkers and horse-riders (as a bridleway goes just pass it). From the window tables, there are some lovely views of the surrounding countryside - especially Roseberry Topping (another local attraction). I recently called into the café for lunch and I was very impressed with the quality of service and the food that I was served with.

The food was okay but we received terrible customer service. They think it is okay to talk behind your back when they think you can’t hear them when you can. They give dirty looks and don’t show any enjoyment and just make the whole shop feel really awkward and it has a terrible atmosphere. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but have some respect for your customers and don’t talk about them behind their back when they can clearly hear you. It’s incredibly rude and can make people feel really uncomfortable.
