This place is pure disgrace. They party everyday with loud music when it's located in residential area

Overcrowded, Overpriced, and Poorly Organized I had a disappointing experience at this club and would strongly advise against going if you’re looking to actually dance. The class was so overcrowded that it was impossible to see the teacher or move freely. It felt more like being crammed into a packed train than a dance session. I ended up leaving halfway through because it was so unbearable. To make matters worse, I was charged the full £7 even though I only stayed for 30 minutes. When I tried to raise my concerns, the staff didn’t seem to care. There should have been a limit on the number of attendees to ensure everyone could properly participate and enjoy the class. Additionally, the teacher didn’t even assess my skill level beforehand, which made the experience even more frustrating.

Besides not having Brazilian people working there, it has nothing to do with a Brazilian bar. I ordered a caipirinha and paid £8 for it to come with pure alcohol and strawberry syrup. There wasn't even any fruit in the caipirinha! The live music wasn't even Brazilian either! The food was UNSALT!

Honestly, I was disappointed with the place. They charged £10 to get in, even though it was free until 11am, and I arrived at 10:30am. The place does everything it can to take advantage of its customers. Terrible atmosphere, low-quality drinks. Brazilians, please don't go there.

I simply do not recommend it, a restaurant with a Brazilian name that does not have any Brazilians in management, the portions are so small that they are a disgrace, there are very few food options, we were even well attended by the waitress, but don't waste your time going there xx

I had a really upsetting experience here. Last night a bartender (tall and bald) screamed at me for being in their way. I understand I was in their way but screaming was unnecessary. I moved immediately afterwards, but then she came back and screamed at me for a second time. I’m not sure what she said because it was loud but it was aggressive. :(

Worst restaurant in the world! The manager made fun of us throughout the meal. They spilled a drink on us, forgot our order for an hour. Finally, they asked us to leave the restaurant saying we were taking too long. In summary, 2 of us did not have our meal. The burgers were frozen and extremely tough. I strongly advise you to move on. Small positive point, the servers tried to do their best.

I grew up in Rio de Janeiro and was used to eating bar food. When I got here, I didn't see anything like bar food. I saw a portion of 3 coxinha (small chicken thighs) for me and my 3 friends to share, a portion of horrible fried chicken, a portion of fried sausage that tasted like old sausage. Everything in the portion was bad, nothing saved it. Now, my friends and I are hungry and have to go to McDonald's. You guys who are in charge of this establishment need to review the entire kitchen and improve the menu and charge a fair price, not expensive, and the service is terrible, for me it's zero stars.

I am not brasilian but i know brasilian culture very well and i know also how to cook brasilian food. There was nothing brasilian in the food they served us. Portions were very less and not cooked well. Really I didn’t like it and i don’t recommend it. The only positive thing is the place which is nice and the girls who served us were nice.

The worst place I've ever been! I'm Brazilian and I ordered all the portions of the house with 3 other friends, thinking that as usual we would eat while drinking and chatting, because I got such absurdly small portions, 3 of them, 3 MINI COXINHAS, 3 horrible chickens, including chicken thighs! And believe it or not, each one cost 8 pounds! I PAID 8 pounds for 3 mini coxinha!!! That doesn't cost 0.50! I paid a lot, I ate half a mini coxinha, the scrapings of a piece of chicken thighs because remember, there were 4 of us and there were only 3 pieces, I had to share to eat something. We left amazed!

Muy buena comida, celebrando la fiesta de cumpleaños de mis amigos. Pedí una botella de vino blanco, recomendado por el camarero (absolutamente repugnante) no capaz de beber - vuelvo al bar para pedir reemplazo para diferentes vinos y gerente (señora rubia) quiere que pague 12 £ extra por diferentes botellas (en lugar de 4 £) o incluso sin extras como complementario. A female friend of mine got groped there by a guy. When they called the police on him Boteco banned the entrance to my friend ,not to the groper. A couple of years later she tried to get in and the doorman told her “I cannot let you get in, the guy that groped you is inside , it would not be safe for you “. They basically protect abusers over victims .

The place was very cold, we were sat close to the door and it was -1 outside. We had to ask multiple times if at least it was possible to close the dubbed door, which eventually was. The staff was nice but clearly undertrained. Food edible, drinks good. It might have been just the wrong night.

Everything at "Boteco do Brasil Edinburgh" is affordable! It starts, immediately, with them having no idea what "Brazilian food" is, even less, how it is prepared and served, from the ingredients to the side dishes, including the common "caipirinha", which was everything but a "caipirinha Brazilian"! I hope that a future Brazilian gastronomic experience in "Lands of His Majesty" will actually be "Brazilian food" or at least prepared as such! 🤔

I ordered a X-tudo and my bread was incredibly hard and impossible to eat. It came with raw egg snot that I also couldn’t eat. The hamburger itself was really hard and dry. It was a waste of money. The restaurant is not authentically Brazilian.

Portion was way too small for 3 people as they had suggested. The meat was not tender at all, probably not picanha as they mentioned on the menu. Also, I was overcharged for drinks and had to ask for a refund.

They sell a plate "to share" a but you can only share that if you want to pay a lot and still be hungry, extremely expensive for what you get, picanha is not picanha and they overcharged us in the drinks. The place looks bad and smells like bathroom (as they keep the toilet doors wide open). We've complained about the fake picanha and the lack of food and they didn't even offer a discount or anything like that. This place is like a real life scam. Avoid.

When we walked in and were waiting to be seated we were ignored for ages before we were finally acknowledged and seated. After sitting we then had to wait longer to be given menus. We ordered our food and when it arrived we noticed we were missing our side of chips we told the waitress and instead of getting our chips we were then accused of not ordering them. The toilets were filthy, broken mirrors, stains on the toilets , graffiti and overall unusable and disgusting. Would not recommend and will definitely not be back. ( would have gave 0 stars if possible)

The atmosphere is very similar to bars in Brazil, it's great to feel a little at home. We ordered a grilled picanha, chicken drumstick and shrimp risolis. They were all absolutely delicious. The service was extremely attentive and kind. I leave here my total recommendation for this cozy little piece of Brazil in the UK. I've lived abroad for many years and have been to many Brazilian restaurants in Europe, mainly in London which is where I live,this is by far the WORST I've ever been to. There are NO Brazilians, NOBODY knew basic questions about Brazilian food and drinks, there was only one Italian girl serving the entire restaurant, she was very friendly, and it's not her fault the owner doesn't hire more employees. The food is horrible (it's not made by Brazilians). I definitely don't recommend it

I was there last week with my family and it was quite disappointing. The portions all small but the prices are higher. Last year I visited than and I had a nice experience that, somewhat, reminded me of Brasil. I don’t know if there was an owner changing but it totally reflected in the experience.

Horrible food! Rotten taste. The fejoada had the smell of vomit.🤮 The brigadeiro had a burnt taste. The pan de queijo had everything but cheese flavor. Pudding with the smell and taste of rotten eggs. A little shame for our Brazil to have a Bar that assumes that the food is Brazilian and provides a lower quality service than any place I have ever been to in my life. It is indescribable. It should be closed for health reasons. Unhealthy food. 39.44 thrown in the trash. Honestly I was there once in person and I thought the food was bad because I was after hours. Today, hungry and missing eating good homemade Brazilian food, I chose this seedy restaurant. My God. As if the delay wasn't enough, the food arrives cold and smells like vomit. Just Eat won't give me my money back. These people have the nerve to put the fejoada in a paper box to make a home delivery. Inedible. Money thrown away. It is unacceptable that a restaurant does not meet basic health and food quality standards. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a Brazilian dining experience. It is reportable!!! I hope they take these criticisms seriously and improve the quality of their food or close the establishment for everyone's health and well-being. 🙅🏼‍♀️

The fejoada is inedible... it tastes and smells rotten. It's overcooked. The brigadeiro tastes burnt. Fue sin duda la peor comida que he comido. Un asco. Les debía tener vergüenza de enviar comida en malo estado. La comida con olor a podrido. Fejoada huele a vomito. El brigadeiro estaba con sabor de quemado. Deberían cerrar el local de por vida.

As a Brazilian I can only say: don’t waste your time here! There’s none of Brazilian genuinely home made food. Extremely expensive for the size of portions, frozen coxinhas, the picanha could only taste to coarse salt. Never seen something so miserable. Save your money and go to Fazenda!

Decided to return to this place for dinner, further to being in for a drink the previous week. The meal and service was absolutely awful. Waited 25 mins for a glass of wine and when it eventually arrived it was red wine despite ordering white wine. I had to complain about our meal as was almost inedible. The service was far too slow and staff appeared uninterested. My Husband and I ordered the burger with strips of beef, which were small pieces of roast beef that you’d buy in the Supermarket to put on a sandwich and were very chewy. As per one of the above reviews the salad was wilted., dry and u interesting. Will not be returning.

I ordered delivery, hot soda, super salty potatoes and a bad sandwich. And I've also been physically to a Brazilian restaurant that doesn't have any Brazilian attendants.

The food was good, although the dessert - guava cheesecake - was clearly strawberry and at £8 a pop for what I would consider a half slice, was unacceptable. The toilets were filthy. The service was terrible. Three of us were given our mains and 15 minutes later we had to summon a waitress to have our companions mains delivered. The mains when they came were good, but overall this was a very disappointing and expensive experience.

Venue, music and vibe was great overall. However, the drinks were suspiciously watered down. I had been drinking double tequila and lemonade the entire evening, but the same drink here tasted as just lemonade. After I asked the bartender in the basement bar to use another/better tequila pointing to the the Patrons displayed on the wall. He conferred with another bartender and said he couldnt do that and can only use the same bottle/brand he's used before. Won't be going back for drinks here.

Food was so bad, the meat was really hard to chew and we had to throw most away. They picked bad part of the steak (maybe not even steak). Potato was dry too. Burger was dry. Everything so bad. Really bad experience.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE HIS PLACE We ordered a bottle of wine and as we sat on the benches seat area of the bar, the bench tilted and the bottle fell to the ground and broke, we then got offered another bottle by the waitress and as we received it we got asked to pay for it, this very bottle we just received being more expensive than the other we initially ordered so we rejected paying for it. As we understand the bar does not always have to be responsible of this kind of accidents, the very reason it happened was the poor conditions of their outdoors seating area. Horrible treatment and 0 comprehension when we talked with the waiters, until we could finally tell the manager what happened who didn’t give us a solution either other paying for another bottle or walking away. Absolutely disgusting situation and terrible way that it was handled we’ll make sure not to come back or recommend this bar to anyone (we’ve been here a few times in the past dining with friends)

What a place not to come back again!!, years ago I choose not to come back to their club cause of all the spiking and their way of dealing with it ... Unbelievable... After years I decided to give it a try again at least for a drink and some tapas. We went inside to order cause they were not coming to the terrace, ordered, and when my boyfriend came back with two glasses of champagne (cause they didn't wanted to give him wine glasses(18.00pm and people drinking in pint glass beer)) he sat down and we almost fell from the bench, the bottle fell and broke, we informed about the situation and a girl came to clean it and said another bottle was on the way, for our surprise she brought a more expensive one wanting us to pay for it , obviously we said that that wasn't the same as we ordered and if we needed to pay for another one, we were leaving. For their "poor quality outdoors seating benches" we ended up paying more than 20£ for a bottle of wine that we didn't even taste and a tapa of pan de queixo that was ... 3 pieces for 5£ that were not even good, much better BARUNO in new town for quality, treatment and good furniture 🤣 Thank god that we didn't feel and hurt ourselves cause the manager would have care the same way...

Outdoor seating area was quite nice on a sunny day, the toilets were absolutely disgusting. Food below average but edible, also menu is very misleading - ordered chicken pieces and was given chicken wings. When complained about this they refused to change and did not apologise for the clearly misleading nature of their menu. After raising this issue staff were extremely rude and blunt. Escalated to a manager who did not care. Drinks also were expensive and tasted diluted. Left still hungry and disappointed.

Avoid at all costs! Chose this as it has outdoor tables. Encouraged to order Brazilian tapas which were small and tasteless, I could only eat a few mouthfuls of food. Went here with my wife for food and drinks. We sat outside but ended up leaving as we were ignored for 20 minutes even though the two servers kept smiling at us as they walked past. Three other groups arrived after us and their orders were taken even though it was quite obvious we had been there first and for a while. It's a shame as I have been here before and it was a good vibe, don't think I will be back after this experience.

The 'Picanha Família' dish only serves 2 people, although the menu does not state this. Extremely small side portions. I don't recommend it nor will I go back. Too expensive for the food offered.

I found a hair in the food and the feijoada was without any seasoning. Very small portions. I ordered an açaí for take away and they didn't give anything for it from the menu and sent me the tiniest granola. It doesn't make you feel nostalgic for Brazil at all, because there's nothing Brazilian about it .

I really like Saturdays. They have the best atmosphere in the evenings after the salsa and bachata classes are over. The DJ is very up to date with reggaeton music. The staff is very friendly too.

A lovely restaurant, exuding warmth and delicious food on a cold, wet and windy Edinburgh night. Thank you to Ivan, who served us very well. My feijoada was great, but my wife ordered the beef and sweet potato stew- this was a beef short rib stew, which I had never eaten before! It was huge, and really good! Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

The establishment is rubbish, there was an obese woman at the reception who treated me very badly, she made my friend a horrible drink that didn't even have alcohol, she tried to rob me in the face, I had paid £4.50 for a drink, I ordered again the same drink for this obese white woman and she charged me £10, I refused to pay for the abuse. If you go, be careful and always check the amount before swiping your card, dishonest people, and the place shouldn't even be called a bar in Brazil because it plays very few Brazilian songs, completely disappointed and the place is a dump, there wasn't even a light in the bathroom

The atmosphere is very cozy and beautiful and the service is excellent. The food leaves a lot to be desired, as the meat that they say is picanha is not, and the beans appear to be canned. I'm traveling and I still miss our delicious Brazilian cuisine.

Boteco do Brasil exploits our culture for profit, making it a disheartening choice for anyone seeking an authentic Brazilian experience. As a result, I strongly advise against attending future events at Boteco do Brasil if you’re seeking any semblance of authentic Brazilian representation.

I loved the atmosphere, such a warming and happy place. As a Brazilian person I have to say the all dishes we ordered were amazing! I would go back there everyday in my trip. I would totally recommend the Mandioca with Carne de Sol, loved!!

Today was meant to be a Mardi Gras/carnival. There was no carnival. Latin music is not carnival. There was no samba. The picture is misleading. There were dancers for 5 minutes and they weren't even dressed up. Boteco gives a bad rep for Brazil. The music is not brazilian, the food is awful. The service is ok-ish. I've been to boteco a few times and every time I leave disappoint but this event was just the worst!

The food and atmosphere was very good, but the service was very poor - the waiter got our order wrong for both food and drinks, then when our starters were cleared we waited twenty minutes before I had to remind a server we were still waiting on mains, at which point she told the kitchen. We were not offered desserts (though we eventually decided against ordering anyway) though the bill was delivered promptly when we asked.

I had a cocktail (piña colada) and it was very diluted, not worth 9 pounds :( my friend had a different cocktail and said the same. I would advise revise the recipe of make it cheaper.

We have been there to celebrate my birthday and enjoy the Greek night. I had a cheeseburger that was quite good but the chips was fried in oil which probably not used only for fries or was quite overused. I loved the cake fireworks. Thank you

One of your bartenders in the club is so bloody rude (bigger girl with glasses). Shouting at people to move, rolling her eyes and being incredibly unpleasant. every time i go she’s always so rude to me and my fiancé like get a grip! honestly think she should be fired

Shocking service, waited 2 and a half hours, food still hasn't arrived. Bloody starving. Will not be ordering from here again. Staff had the gall to tell me there was no record of my order despite me having received an order number and updates from Just Eat. Would not recommend.

Es un buen sitio de música latina para gente muy joven...la cerveza fue asquerosa, un timo... tienes q pagar 10 libras por entrar sin consumición

Poor menu and bad quality food - most likely the worst burger I've had. The bun was definitely frozen and microwaved as it became stale in seconds. Drinks were not better either. My partner ordered prosecco that was warm and still. The stuff we're not the most accommodating and there was a bizarre entertainment interval with two barely-dressed dancers trying to infuse some Latin flare. Unfortunately, it felt more like a cheap and kid-friendly strip show

Lugar maravilhoso e atendimento excelente!!! Super recomendo! Wonderful place and the staff was amazing. I would recommend everyone to stay here.
