I go in to this cafe from time to time and I have reviewed it before. The food and service are always consistently good. The only slight problem is that it can get crowded and the acoustics in this lovely old building (originally a chapel then later used by the adjacent cloth mill) are terrible! If you dislike noise it would be better to sit just outside the main building - that area is still within the Shires structure. Recommended.

More weekends than not I'm in Boswells having a cooked breakfast. I'm vegetarian and their veggie breakfast is one of the best I've ever had, every single time. The building is well designed and spacious. The cakes are delicious and the hot chocolate is my favourite in the country. My dad says that his favourite Latte is one from Boswell's. The portions are large, especially a big glass of coke. Big well done to the team for keeping us and many people I know coming back regularly. p.s. I accidentally deleted my old review so had to write this from memory. Hopefully I remembered everything I said before

The actual building Boswell’s is in is really impressive. It’s a draw in itself. The management have added to the ambience with carefully curated artwork which is a pleasing distraction. But the real plus of the café is its friendly, helpful and hardworking staff. There is seemingly nothing they can’t do to help you have a great time. Oh, and the coffee and cakes are superb and generously portioned. I love it!

Staff were excellent as usual, friendly and very helpful..would like to mention Trina the waitress she always goes beyond and above to help us and is always very, very polite....the same goes for the Manager Sheryl, nothing is too much trouble for her,she chats to everyone and is very friendly and hard working.... We use this cafe 3-4 times a week for personal meetings with friends. I also support people with a L.D there several times a week and the standard of support around the people I support is amazing ...over and beyond fantastic to them all....

I took lunch at Boswells in the Shires at Trowbridge during a shopping trip in April. I must say that I have never seen it so busy in there. Nevertheless the servers coped admirably. I ordered an all day breakfast and a regular cappuccino and that came to £12.10. The drink was served at the payment place and the meal was brought to my (numbered) table quickly despite the crowds. Both were delicious. The only problem is that this cafe is situated in a building which was originally a chapel so the acoustics are terrible when the room is full of people talking. I would advise those who do not like noise to sit just outside at the tables near the entrance and dine - that is still a covered area within the Shires.

I visit Boswells 2 to 3 times a week either with friends or people I support from where I work. The staff are always pleasant and polite and nothing is ever too much trouble for them .Sheryl ( the manager) will go out of her way to help in anyway she can☺☺I recently wanted some vouchers as a present and Sheryl had to order them in from the head office. She chased them up for me to ensure I got them in time for the date I needed them. I would always go to Boswells 1st for my coffee/ food and would recommend this cafe to anyone.

Visited Boswells for a quick breakfast & coffee before going exploring. A full English is £8.50, was worth the money, a good full breakfast, well cooked & tasty. The coffee was excellent & the restaurant was a lovely air conditioned temperature on a hot day. What made the breakfast better was the staff, I can honestly say I've never met such lovely, happy people in the morning. Super cheery & helpful. They are a credit to your restaurant.

Ordered an all-day breakfast here. I realised shortly after it arrived that it had a lot missing - I think they'd given me the smaller breakfast. It tasted alright but nothing special plus I'd paid quite a bit more for what it was. Also impossible to then get anyone's attention so had to just accept it.

Decided to have a coffee and a snack at Boswells. Ordered hot drinks which were fine.Ordered panini with brie and bacon. WHERE WAS THE BACON??? Not cheap at £5.50 and plenty of brie BUT, the bacon was off cuts, and only 4 in the panini. Thought it was a one off and so ordered the same a few days later. Just the same. Plenty of brie, negligible bacon. This is not good enough Boswells. You are conning your customers I am afraid. Please, if you are going to serve this, and at this high price, put a rasher of bacon not 4 small off cuts!!!

We usually take the Grand Children here about once a week for a Milkshake, they are probably the best in the Town for that sort of thing.I’ve never eaten in here before so can’t really comment on the food score but what I’ve seen it looks like they cater for the younger folk and what comes out of the Kitchen looks very nice to be fair.If there was one criticism..it would be that although they do clean the Tables quite frequently.....but around the Floor area around the Tables could do with a bit more attention.

Came here for a spot of brunch with my partner and baby. Ordered our food, and found a seat. Good seating area, comfy chairs and suitable tables. Food arrived quickly, was very happy. Our order, however, was wrong. So had to be returned to the kitchen. Came back again, still wrong. So was corrected a second time. Was corrected quickly, but was only a bacon and sausage sandwich with some cheese (shouldn't be too hard, right??) no napkins available either. But the staff were very very helpful and quick to sort issues. Just overpriced, especially when mistakes are made. £18 for a sarnie and panini, with 2 drinks. Went here solo for breakfast. Service was efficient, albeit 'robotic'. Coffee was surprisingly good actually, and I know my coffee. Breakfast was overpriced in my opinion, it is low quality, which I expected to be fair, but it was hot which was good obviously. Unfortunately it was served on the worlds smallest plate!! Thus making it bad value for money. If quality was better, I would expect a tiny plate. Food wasn't bad, just overpriced for the quality and the amount. I will return for the coffee, as that was worth returning for.

This large cafe has prime position in Yate's shopping centre and was busy when we arrived mid-morning, though the small queue at the counter meant an over-long wait - presumably there are more staff on at lunchtimes? They seemed to have the Wetherspoons method of clearing tables - wait till virtually every empty table has dirty dishes on it, then someone comes out to clear them all. Located right in the centre hub of the Shires, Trowbridge's largest shopping centre, it’s a very convenient meeting place, parking is easy, use upper level open air car park or you will have to use the lift which is not over large.Access to the restaurant is ramped down from the higher shopping precinct. Very large cafe so plenty of space.Big disadvantage is that the toilets are upstairs with no lift, so you need to use the public toilets close to the upper car park entrance.Food and drink is always acceptable, if not a little expensive.

Lovely food & a nice range of drinks. Staff are very friendly and service is good. The only thing making this 4 and not 5 is the fact that our tables foot fell off making the table rapidly tip up - the mess was cleaned up but no replacements were offered. More alarmingly is the fact that the tables foot was slipped back under ready for the next unsuspecting visitors...risky! Please check your tables as hot tea over a child would be far worse than a cold milk drink.Other than that it was a lovely visit, as always, and we'll definitely visit again.Definitely recommend.

After walking around the town lookig for a quick pit stop, we spotted Boswells. By far and away the best loking café out of the several we saw. Comfortable modern seating areas. Varied competitively priced menus with fresh food on offer. Staff very polite and very helpful. Tables cleared quickly and tidy. Only drawback was the lack of public toilets. Able to use staff toilets but up a 24 stepped steep staircase. Obviously not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Strange really, as access to cafe has steps of ramps for buggies or wheelchairs! Also, if allowing public to use the toilets; they need to give the stairs and skirting boards a jolly good clean! However, if using the toilet is not a necessity, then no reason not to return. Nice place for a pit stop in Trowbridge!

This beautiful old building is a surprise find in the middle of a covered shopping centre! Although not much of the interior remains. It is comfortable and clean, with home made soups and snacks. The staff are extraordinarily enthusiastic and friendly! They reminded me of the staff in an Apple Store! They are clearly extremely happy in their jobs or have been highly trained in customer service.

Convenient. Reasonably priced. Good selection of cakes and drinks. My only criticism would be that the baby changing area is upstairs.

Boswells is situated in the Shires shopping mall and was converted from an old factory building. It's a good place to drop in whilst shopping and to enjoy a tea or coffee with a hot sausage roll and a bowl of chips. It's that kind of food. Nothing pretencious but comfortable. Popular with Mums with toddlers wantind a quick break

This coffee shop is probably the best in town if you have a pushchair or wheelchair and need space around the table for it. Coffees were okChocolate brownie was too solid to be called a brownie, more like a stale biscuit.

My wife and I each had a bowl of soup here at around 2pm. Not cheap - £4 each - but well-presented with croutons and a roll and butter. The only thing was, there was a queue of just 4 people at the counter but it took an awfully long time to be served.

Having ate here before and had a good time I thought it would be good for a birthday meal for 4 on a Monday lunch time how disappointing it was. 2 Steak & Stiton pies ordered although very tasty lacked Stiton and was meant to be served with veg we had to ask for the veg which when it arrived after several minutes the excuse was we only have 2 microwaves not the excuse I wanted, the other 2 meals were fine, unfortunately we will not go back.

We visited on a Sunday for breakfast. Arriving a couple of minutes after 10am (opening time), we queued for a table and then again to order food. There were plenty of tables but appreciated it was busy - not all tables were full. We waited for 50 minutes for our food to arrive, although coffee arrived much earlier. This was prompted by us asking where our food was/checking the order had been made, to which we were told ‘we’d just have to wait because it was busy’. The food arrived 5 minutes later. The food was tasty and we’ve no complaints about the quality or price. But, something about the system here just doesn’t make sense, queuing at every point and then waiting another 50 minutes for scrambled eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich, doesn’t make sense. We arrived at 10 and didn’t leave until 12:15…. People had started arriving for lunch! Sadly, we’d not return. There are just other places nearby that are doing it better.

We booked a table for the opening party, the pub opened earlier in the week with new staff and owners.

The location of this establishment is strange because the shop/restaurant sits within what is essentially a business park in the middle of nowhere but it is not hard to find. The setting was ideal for a summer lunch with lots of variously covered areas to shelter from the sun or rain if it happens. Then you realise that all these covered areas are, in fact, the restaurant! I saw no evidence of indoor seating. The main seating area is fundamentally a plastic marquee attached to a shop unit and all the seats are picnic benches. They have an interesting menu, which changes regularly I understand, and it is obvious that this establishment is not trying be a full all ‘singing and dancing’ restaurant and they do make that clear. It uses locally sourced quality produce for Deli style light meals, specifically lunches, and also snacks. The people running it are personable, welcoming and efficient. We found them very helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. Overall, the food menu is a little overpriced I feel but not excessive. That said, a few dishes do seem “over the top’ for what they are. It is the shop where the prices are eyewatering expensive and I think they have gone too far. I can here them now saying that they are supporting local suppliers and that this comes at a cost but times are hard and I do truly believe they, or their suppliers, need to face reality as the pricing is far too high. We need to support businesses like this but they have to respond too! Did I enjoy my meal? Yes, fantastic, Would I go again? Yes, definitely! Would I encourage you to go? Yes definitely! I just warn you that your visit will be enjoyable but not cheap so be prepared.

Great evening! It did not disappoint! The black rock fillet steaks were amazing. The young waitresses were both lovely, always smiling & nothing was too much trouble for them. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and we all enjoyed the evening. We would highly recommend a visit here!
