This place was busy upon arrival at 18:30, but we get seated very quickly. The menu was limited, but out steaks were cooked as we requested, and the skin-on chips were cooked to perfection and were not greasy at all. Accompanying Bordelaise sauce was light and more like a jus than a sauce. The staff members were all friendly, attentive and polite. We will definitely go back.

The scallops were very disappointing, I had them last time we came and they were really good , also my husband ordered a side of bread to go with his snails, waitress could have said bread came with snails. The steak was really good We did mention the disappointed ting starters to the waitress fell slightly on deaf ears

Going back to Bordelaise was a pretty disappointing experience. I was shown to a corner table with chairs stacked next to it - a bit like eating in a shed. The table itself had some sort of sticky coating all over it so that the glasses stuck to the surface as did my phone and the paper napkins. The surface was too sticky to lean on so that made eating awkward. We mentioned that the table was a bit sticky and the waitress said that this happened when the table got wet (or something) and made no offer to move us or even to bring another napkin that I’d asked for because most of mine had stuck to the table. She complained about how much she hated cleaning the tables because they were so hard to clean and then left. We all enjoyed our starters - duck egg with mushroom and snails. Another main course - duck confit, was great. The other two main courses were steak - one was cooked correctly and the other one wasn’t cooked as requested. The steaks came with frites which were over cooked and soft and soggy, absolutely horrible. When I queried this, the same waitress said that it was because they were homemade - yes, really! Absolutely horrible to eat so we didn’t bother. Puddings were fine. At the end of our meal we were overcharged so this was then put right. I’ve included some pics. Any restaurant that thinks that serving food on a table that looks like this at £70 per head needs to have a very hard rethink. Also staff training appears to be non-existent. Customers aren’t interested in whether you find a table hard to clean whilst doing nothing to fix the issue or telling customers that sub-standard food is like that because it’s ‘homemade’ - ugh! I’ve given this a couple of stars because some of the food was good but the rest of the experience was pretty sub-optimal. This is a shame because we all live locally so it would be great to have a good place on our doorstep to eat.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is compact and cosy, as is all of the establishments in Tooting Market. The food was amazing and the lovely waiter could not do enough for us.

Visited on a Friday night with family who live nearby. The market overall was busy and very lively and this restaurant was too. It’s a tight space but very cozy and all the staff were excellent with the manager keeping an eye on everything and engaging with customers. There was an excellent team in the open kitchen too. The food was delicious. I had a buratta and anchovy starter followed by a perfectly cooked flat iron steak. The Malbec was good as was the 4 cheese selection we finished with. Fun evening. Reasonable price

Not sure why the standards have slipped here. However, it was really disappointing. My steak was average at best. It was cooked to my liking, but it was of poor quality, chewy, and lacking flavour.

Always brilliant - delightful steak, good atmosphere and great value. A real gem, have taken a few friends here and will keep doing so. Excellent!

Perhaps our expectations were high but considering how they sell themselves and the business we expected this to be a bit more of a good restaurant to then find lower standards than at a pub. Food was ok but nothing special, the goat cheese salad is just a huge plate of green with a small slice of cheese on top. The steaks were well cooked but we really weren’t expecting watery gravy and frozen fries to come with it. Staff members were nice enough but as mentioned, not restaurant trained. They brought us the wrong bottle of wine and didn’t realise until we told them. They leave it on the table without showing/offering to taste. Overall, as a hospitality manager, I found it overpriced for the food and service offered.

I’ve been to bordelaise 3 times, the first time we went for the steak night and it was enjoyable, so the second time we brought a friend and we all have a great night. But this time, it was a very different experience, my seafood pasta was really tasty but stops there. My husband’s steak and fries were cold, the garlic sauce wasn’t great either. The beers warm, my plate was chipped and for £60 bill we expected a bit more care and a better experience.

Have been visiting Bordelaise for a few years and it is consistently great. Most recently visited on a Sunday for a roast, everything was really delicious. Service always friendly. Super cute place to sit (inside or outside are both good) and the food is just superb.

Lovely! Beautiful food. Lovely service. Reasonable priced! Such a quaint little place. My only thing is both times I’ve been had a weak wobbly chair! So maybe need some new ones, but apart from that it’s a perfect place x

As regulars am saddened to write this review Lovely wait staff as usual Absolutely deafening music coming from other restaurants opposite and nearby making talking with friends impossible unless shouting The onglet was good as usual but the sauce was thin and watery and not the usual thick delicious stuff of previous visits Same for French onion soup Visit often with family and friends but due to inevitable price rises (expected ) and disappointing food unsure how I feel about returning - perhaps ? But only to sit inside

We used to love this local little restaurant! It always felt French (ox cheek and French onion soup) for the last 4-5 years that we’ve regularly visited however tonight was so different and disappointing. Starters are not longer French (fried chicken and fried calamari). Mains were steak and fries which were ok. Fries were unchanged but the steak wasn’t perfectly cooked. The menu was very limited with a lot of options being removed from menu or unavailable. Staff were friendly as usually but Bordelaise as a whole could do with focusing on current restaurants rather than opening more establishments until it is able to replicate the quality it used to possess.

Was sadly disappointed with our dinner here. Visited on a Saturday night which was of course hectic but it always is so that shouldn’t be a surprise. We tried to order starters but were told they were too busy to time it right so they would probably come out with the mains…weird as we saw lots of others getting starters at the right time? Didn’t bother and just ordered a sharing steak and a couple of sides. The sides were admittedly delicious, especially the dauphinois, but the steak was chewy, had a lot of fat and was a very small portion. Overall a big let down considering how many other great options there are in the market.

Taking a trip to Tooting to rediscover our youth we came across Bordelaise the French bistro in Tooting Broadway Market. It was charming. Wonderful vegetarian meal. Baked aubergine with quinoa and delicious tomato sauce/pesto. The two waiting staff were very attentive and kind. Excellent value for money too.

Came here and both the starter and the main meals we wanted from the menu were also on a special menu which was £18 for two courses as long as we ordered before 7 p.m. I had the snails, which were nice in the main, although part of one was mushy, and hubby had the French onion soup. He was sadly unable to eat much of that as they had made it quite a spicy soup, and he can't take hot spices, but the waitress said she would tell the chef this as French onion soup is not meant to be spicy, so I was impressed that they sided so quickly with the customer. We then both had the 200g onglet with fries, which was beautifully cooked and totally full of flavour, a real highlight of the meal. Hubby then had the eton mess for desert (£7.50), and he also had 500ml of the house white wine (£17. Service charge of 12.5% was automatically added. It's definitely somewhere we would consider returning to.

A cute and tasteful little deli with a personal touch on everything. We were welcomed in by the manager and served with delicious breakfast baguettes while we sipped on some strong French coffeee looking out over the streets of Wandsworth. Lovely little spot

Food is always very good at Gazette Trinity, and this was no exception. We had the lamb rump and the scallops. As with most restaurants, I would say it's beginning to lose its "value" status for me. But overall a very pleasant experience.

Visito a mi hija y su familia en Wandsworth una vez al año durante los últimos seis años. Este pequeño lugar está a una cuadra y media de su casa. En mi visita de abril de 2019 parecía que el restaurante había cerrado y cerró su puerta.
