Amazing American style Brunch. Great food, superbly presented. Pancakes, light and fluffy, scrambled eggs perfectly soft, bacon nice and crisp, it was spot on, and a decent plateful as well. Really couldn’t fault it, and didn’t break the bank either

Absolutely amazing little cafe! The service was brill and they couldn’t be more friendly, we were served by Tom who was absolutely lovely! The food was a 10/10, so tasty and presentation was stunning. Couldn’t recommend this place enough - if you haven’t been it’s a must!

We just had the best Mother’s Day lunch at Bon Soirée! Amazing roast, wonderful attentive, friendly staff, the most incredible cake! There were 16 of us including 3 children and everyone had a clear plate! Thank you Bon Soirée for a fabulous Mother’s Day/birthday celebration 😁

We took over Bon Soiree cafe from 14:00 until 17:30. 13 adults & 3 children under 8. Tom , front of house , welcomed us with Prosecco . We were not under any pressure to hurry at any point. We had all pre ordered. The Sunday roasts both vegetarian : pescatarian & carnivore were generous & delicious . Substantial puddings & generous cheeseboards followed . Bianca , the pastry chef made a delicious cake . The wine flowed . The cafe looked fabulous . A perfect Mothers Day lunch for us all . Thank you Team Bon Soiree . We will be back x

Amazing roast dinner with all the (Christmas) trimmings. I had turkey and husband had beef. Lovely wine too. It’s not cheap but you absolutely get what you pay for. We’ll be back! (Dog friendly too which is a plus for us)

An absolute gem of a place with wonderful staff, great menu and easy access parking across the road!

So,25/09 Cafe Bon Soiree started to do roast dinners, well what a dinner! Accompanied by a great wine selection and a dessert counter. I had the beef (there is the option of chicken and a vegetarian option too) which melted in the mouth, everything tasted as it should, with no disappointment or weak element of the meal at all. Portion sizes were spot on also. My dessert was amazing, with 5 different options to choose from including an excellent cheese board. Great value for money, left thoroughly full and happy with the whole experience.

Nice menu with plenty of choice, all made with high quality ingredient and all meals were very tasty and freshly cooked to order. The meals were freshly cooked to a very highly standard with plenty of good flavours. We very much enjoyed a lovely lunch and some freshly squeezed orange juice to drink. The coffee was good and the cake selection was extremely good for a small cafe. A lovely place to lunch/breakfast or just for coffee and cake.

What a little gem of a Cafe. I was visiting a friend that lives locally this weekend. The quality of the cakes they had on offer was amazing. I had a apple crumble slice and my friend had a plum frangipane. They were delicious and made to a very high standard. Honestly can not recommend enough. The coffee too was great quality. I live in London so would not expect this standard normally in a small place in Hertfordshire

Called in one morning, really wish we hadn't bothered. We were totally and studiously ignored. The two ' staff' never made eye contact, never said 'good morning', never said 'be with you in a minute'. We were going to ask about a large catering order. If this is the way they deal with customers, I'm extremely glad we gave up and walked out. We will not be going in ever again.

Such a lovely cafe which is definitely worth your visit! We had a lovely breakfast, with great service. Molly was extremely attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious and the place was quiet and nicely decorated so I could actually hear what my friend was saying and have a proper catch up! I will definitely be coming back very soon!!

What a gem. I visited with my friend before my trip back to Kent. Great Americano made and served by a delightful young lady Molly. Such a bubbly welcoming personality. Efficient service. I had a delicious home made sausage roll whilst I was there. Will certainly visit next time I’m in Berkhamsted.

Very nice friendly cafe and top quality food. The oat cappuccino is the best in town in my opinion at only £2.50 ... great to have it in Berko

£6:00 for egg on toast is taking the piss a little. I can understand people needing to make money but come on. The last was very nice as she took my money

‘Soirée’ is feminine in French so it should be called Bonne Soirée...that’s enough to ruin my evening!

I have visited this cafe on a number of occasions and it does very nice breakfasts - the only meal I have eaten there. On this occasion I stopped to buy bacon sandwiches for myself and my two children after a dog walk in the rain. The server was very pleasant and food nice but when my 8 year old son asked to use their toilet as he was desperate he was told that he couldn't use it "due to Covid", and because it is a shared toilet with some chefs. I asked again as he really was in need but was flatly refused. First of all, although the food was served in a take away form, there was seating that could be used and we, and another father and child, sat in to eat the food, therefore, they should have had a toilet available. Secondly, what sort of person refuses to allow a child to use a toilet? I even offered to clean the toilet after he had used it but no, still not allowed. So not very impressed I'm afraid.

Went here for the first time to find an alternative to my usual coffee haunts in Berkhamsted. Really friendly staff and delicious home cooked food. Would definatley recommend.

Have visited this cafe twice in recent weeks as a breakfast /brunch break when walking locally. Minutes from the canal tow path. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Have enjoyed the crushed avocado on sour dough rye toast with perfectly poached eggs.The haddock fish cake is excellent too. Coffee and tea both delicious, we love stopping off here.

We had the smashed avo with poached eggs and salmon on soda bread. Was delicious and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Will def return!

This is a really nice cafe which is ideal for a coffee or lunch stop - food was fresh and tasty. It’s in the main road, which is a shame, but it really doesn’t matter once you’re inside. If you’re cycling you can easily keep an eye on the bike if you sit near the front.Service was pleasant and friendly. You can get stuff to take away - in fact while I was there I watched them sell all their rolls and baguettes to various people who obviously know the place and rate it.They seem to do evening food as well.

Fab little spot for coffee/brunch/cafe, thoroughly recommend! Not a cast menu but the pastries and coffee were lovely and the service very friendly and personal.

This is a delightful cafe selling hot and cold meals and snacks. The food is freshly prepared and is served with a smile. The coffee is good and the millionaire's shortbread is to die for. You can tell it's home made.There are even newspapers to read while you are waiting for your order.

Cozy little cafe serving tasty home made food & excellent coffee. The crushed avocado, poached eggs & bacon on sourdough is delicious. Staff are always attentive & friendly. Love it!

Recently I found myself regularly going into Bon Soirée in this past week and a half. I must have spent around about £25-£30 in there in the week and a half I was regularly going in. I would take my computer and order some coffee and occasionally some food. I enjoyed a pleasant experience, often spending a couple of hours in there at a time. Occasionally once I finished my coffee I would chew on some gum because obviously my breath would be nasty from the coffee. So I was in there today having ordered two latte’s and I was in there for about an hour and a quarter, when the manager came out and very rudely told me that what I was doing was ‘unacceptable’. He said I was staying in there too long and it’s not an ‘office’. He said one of the baristas saw me ‘eating’, obviously referring to my gum chewing a couple of days before. He kept saying it was ‘unacceptable’. Very strange experience and it means they were happily accepting my money while supposedly not being happy with me being in their shop. I was so taken back and, to be honest, enraged by the managers comments I downed my latte and left. I could perhaps understand if he’d said it *politely* that if the shop was busy and that if I was not ordering anything if I could leave in the next couple of minutes. But the café wasn’t busy. I was one of three people in there. It wasn’t just very rude of the establishment. And I’m creeped out by the thought that the baristas were discussing me while I was in there but didn’t say anything to me. Just a very strange and very negative experience. I didn’t have trip advisor before but felt inclined to make an account to write this. Just a very weird experience I had there. I should have said something to the manager but I was flustered, so I’ll choose the passive-aggressive path and put it on tripadvisor.

On the perchance you find yourself in Northchurch looking for brunch, Bon soirée is the place to go. It’s a little, comfy place with a surprisingly large selection of breakfast and lunch meals to go with the usual coffees and teas. The staff are super friendly and create a welcoming, homely feel. No milkshakes or smoothies because of a broken blender was the only dampener in my trip.

Always pop in for a lazy breakfast or a spot of lunch where I know the ingredients of the food is superb, though honestly that's only half the reason I visit... it's the wonderful team of Fiona, Sharon and Vicki that makes you want to return, friendly staff that treat you like a friend in a relaxed environment which make this little cafe great.... you even get to relax with lovely locals Mario :)

Breakfasts are great and the staff are always keen to accommodate fussy eaters! Good selection of cakes but hit and miss as always changing each day.

All good but the breakfast's here stand out for me, they do the simple things right with a twist ...... always fresh & tasty.

Sólo tiene capacidad para aproximadamente 12 personas, así que pensé que habría sido posible conseguir la comida a las mesas. Pero no. Café y té llegó rápidamente. El desayuno nunca llegó. Parece que hemos perdido nuestra orden o se olvidó de que dos comidas no había sido entregado. Patética. Con hambre. Una cosa buena- nos dejó en pagar por el café y el té.

Este pequeño café junto a una carretera está muy transitada en Berkhamstead. Es pequeño, con un total de cuatro mesas, pero siempre hemos conseguido encontrar un asiento cuando nos visita, normalmente para el desayuno.

Un salto para un almuerzo rápido. En primer lugar, tuvimos que esperar 10 minutos para tener mi pedido, luego tenía que apretujarse en asientos inadecuados, y luego tuvimos que soportar un niño gritando (pinchar! Además de una desagradable madre), luego tuve que preguntar donde mi comida (20 minutos después de la orden). En general, no una visita para alentar una repetición! Toda la experiencia sugiere que este pequeño café está dirigido por su, no del cliente, en beneficio. Pobre.

Un lugar encantador con un personal atento y una comida magnífica. Este hotel es perfecto para esa taza de café con amigos o un almuerzo ligero. Para ser honesto, puede ser más importante de las comidas en el menú (creo que hay) pero mis amigos y yo sólo estuvimos interesados en algo ligero, ya que teníamos que volver al trabajo y no quieres estar dormidos en nuestro escritorio. La comida era fresca y sabrosa. Hay una variedad de alcohol si eso es lo que quieres. Ojalá viviese más cerca porque me gustaría ir más a menudo, cuando no en el trabajo.

Please just go here. Small place so getting a seat is sometimes a problem but the food is top notch. Really fresh and proper sausages...

Única desventaja es que no hay parking específico, pero hay unos 25 m de distancia, en las bahías de estacionamiento gratuito, aunque en la carretera principal.

Nos vuelve a casa después de ir de compras en Berkhamsted y necesitábamos café. Para nuestra buena fortuna había un espacio para aparcar justo enfrente Bon Soiree, estaba cerca de cierre pero el personal miembro dijo "no problemas" como teníamos 10 minutos a la cerca....

Pequeña y bonita perfecto tranquila de café para el desayuno o un café. Sí, es poco y no esperes Ritz servicio. Pero son siempre amable y la comida es de una calidad estupenda. También deberías probar el pan y los pasteles mientras estás allí ...

What a beautiful little find! Such friendly people and amazing food (the coffee is fab too) really recommend it! I sat by the window and watched the world go by! Will defiantly visit again

I enjoyed a quiet lunch before Christmas. All four tables were occupied and the staff were rushing around and being very efficient. Once we had ordered a sausage roll, bacon bap and various other roll options, the waitress brought our order over within ten minutes. Coffee and drinks took a few minutes longer, but all reasonable given the circumstances. The cakes are excellent too.

Only stopped here by chance & was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was - will definitely stop next time we are in the area.

Had been here once before when empty and enjoyed a quiet lunch. Today, all four tables were occupied and the staff simply couldn't cope. We waited ten minutes to get to the front of the queue. Once we had ordered, the staff had to twice more check what we'd ordered. Despite having already specified our bread options and asking for our sausage roll to be warmed, the staff had to check twice more. They still got it wrong; one white, one brown but the wrong filling in each. The sandwiches were perfectly ordinary. Coffee was fine but the drinks took a good 25 mins to arrive. Seemed to be just two staff working and they simply couldn't cope. We got served before a table who arrived before us. Staff member was apologetic but clearly had few systems in place. Shame as we like to support independent businesses. Would have done better in M&S cafe down the road though.

Lovely little place to go to treat yourself to a bacon bap. Panini's are also good and their cakes are excellent quality. Good service too. Raises the bar for all cafes in Berkhamsted to aim for. Only downside is the lack of toilets - plan ahead!

This small café produces a good range of extremely high quality food - from breakfast to teatime. The cafes and puddings are particularly good, not that other fare is not equally excellent. Recently they produced some wedding food for us; their cakes and pudding were one of the high points of the day. Warmly recommended for quality, efficiency and a very, very friendly service.

Go here for breakfast most weeks, excellent food and friendly staff.Highly recommended.They cater for veggies, the veg breakfast option is very good. The meat is from a local butcher and the bread from a local baker, all very good as are the cakes!

Always visit for breakfast and coffee, love the place and with a brilliant team Joe, Fiona, Debbie and the gang. Never disappointed from my scambled eggs on toast or club sandwich in the afternoon. The place is cosy and i'll be there for breakfast in the morning.

Myself and my 5 year old daughter eat here for "Saturday treats" and we love it. Small and friendly with a lovely atmosphere. Good range of food including bread baked fresh in the morning on site. Breakfasts are fab and not small. Can't recommend the French macaroons enough, my daughters favourite.

I went here three times last year and the first time was good food and good service but on the two subsequent occasions the service was below expectations.The place is small but has a good atmosphere and feels friendly. It is in Northchurch rather than Berkhamsted but that was very convenient for where I used to live. The fried breakfasts were a very good brunch or hangover cure with good coffee too. However, on two occasions the food and drinks were very slow to arrive; the drinks came after the food rather than before and staff came to our table twice to ask us what our order had been. If the service could be more organised and efficient this place could be a lot bettere and it has good potential.
