Weak awful coffee served in chipped tin cups with letters falling off . Sausage roll was meant to be home made however the one I was given Straight out of a freezer and factory made .

What a lovely, scenic place to bring the kids and stop for a slice of cake or just a rest bite to catch your breath and inhale the scene. Although, I will say, your dicing with death on the sprint across the bended road from the car park😱 I'll still do it again, thought.

A pleasant environment to sit and relax, whilst having a drink/food with family and/or friends. Nice bacon baps, and toasties also available. Perhaps not the place (admittedly) for those loving a barista-prepared proper coffee, but the tea was pretty good. It can be quite a popular place sometimes, meaning a wait for food, but friendly staff do their best to bring it out to your table as soon as it is ready, and regularly clear tables to keep the seating area welcoming. Very family orientated, little ones particularly seem to enjoy getting close to the animals, and having an old tractor to clamber upon. Well done Leigh ! Sept 2023 : bacon & egg bap today was yummy, but still a few minutes waiting to receive it, meaning my coffee was already half finished. Nevermind, worth the visit anyway. Sept 2024 : bacon & egg bap delicious today, but award-winning Eastwoods supply the meat, so no surprise ! Friendly courteous service from Heidi as well.

Visited for the first time with family On a Bank Holiday Monday. My kids loved seeing the animals. A lovely little place with lots of outdoor seating. Good choice of food - we ordered bacon and egg baps and jacket potato and had cakes and hot and cold drinks. The coffee was not great but we were happy with the food and tea. Local produce used. The girl taking our order at the till was very nice and got our order right and it was not a long wait at all to get our food at our table. Lovely place to eat at again but we won’t be able to stay long as they only have one portaloo and not proper toilets so with kids it has to be a quick short visit in case they need to go to toilet. I also didn’t like how we had to park and cross a fast road with a bend where you can’t see if a car is coming or not. But I would visit again and recommend.

Been here many times and really enjoyed it. Delightful sitting outside the barn on the picnic tables. Lovely mug of tea, Latte coffee was fine (from a machine) and good home made cakes but my cycling buddy did not rate the americano coffee. This is the second time I have used this cafe now, this time bought a friend who was very impressed . There are a few farm animals too that you can feed, like goats etc, also a tractor and sand pit made from a large tractor wheel for the little ones. It’s also beautiful inside as you can see from pics you can see the roof of the barn and some of the chair made of hay so cool! There is a small amount of parking opposite and a shop next to the cafe that sells lots of pet supplies.

Waited 45 minutes for 4 x sausage rolls which were already pre-cooked on the front counter at the point of of order. I did ask a couple of times where our order was and told I needed to wait. At the time of paying we got 4 iced coffees from the fridge that were finished long before our food arrived. The place wasn't too busy, spotted at least 4 young staff members none of them seemed to be too rushed so a little surprised at waiting 45 mins for something that was already precooked. Excellent coffee and home made food. I would recommend the BLT and the the gloriously moist fruit cake which is the best I have ever had! Friendly staff, a huge garden with animals, and a play area for the kids. Seating inside the barn, on chairs or hay bales, plus a newly opened extra barn selling locally made goods and produce. Parking is opposite the barn, as it is a working farm. The number one destination for any dog walkers in need of refreshment. One of the best things about living in Berkhamsted!

Lovely location and stunning barn. Service Friendly and welcoming. Great bacon sarnie; but coffee pretty disappointing! With so many great independent coffee shops in Berkhamsted and Tring, all offering well made Barista trained brews, it’s hard to hide behind a machine based coffee with generic milk; especially when charging pretty much the same price. All that’s ok though if coffee’s not your thing.

A really nice Saturday lunch with the fam in the cosy Alford Arms . Firstly the staff were attentive and friendly. Our table ordered the beef stew with dumplings, sausages and mash, schnitzel and pasta, the salmon and the special of plaice in a buttery sauce. The fish dishes were exceptional, with the salmon crispy on the skin and the Plaice tender and complimented with capers and herbs. The roast potato and veg allowed for a right mopping of the remnants also. The sausages and mash I was a little indifferent to, as the gravy lacked flavour and the sausages were a little dry. The stew was well received and perfect for a mid autumn belly warmer. The fish justified the price paid, but the sausages and mash brought the average down. We will definitely visit again.
