Beautiful food but £75 bill for two people. 2 drinks.starters .main.. side..a Bit costly...manic service

Been here a few times, it started out to be a Great experience, but the last few times were not very good, they keep double booking, then they rush you with your meals and are quite rude when you don't leave immediately, then the last time we went, they double booked our table upstairs, then tried to put us downstairs by the Stairs, then when we complained they tried to put us in a glorified cupboard, with some other unfortunate people, this an area where they kept spare tables and cleaning equipment, I was totally disappointed and disgusted with our treatment, the Indian restaurant over the road called Cellers is far better, So stay clear of Bombay pickle, they are out to make maximum money for poor customer service,... Avoid

We have been here for years, even though its quite expensive (£50+takeaway) for 2 adults, the food has been lovely previously. However, tonight, we had ordered 2 mains, 2 naans, rice, chips and paddadoms which came to £56. Order was delivered without naans, 30 minutes later I'm still waiting??? Chicken was well over cooked and food was lukewarm when it arrived. Really, really disappointing. Perhaps expanding is having an issue on the quality of the food. I'm not convinced that I will be ordering from bombay pickles in the future with all facts considered.

Overcharged by £9.00 for a meal we had ordered for collection. When queried about the bill, the staff told us that they had new prices. Well, if you dont update the website with your new prices then you are essentially misleading customers, and should really have the humility to apologise and charge the amount that was stated, not stand firm and refuse to admit your mistake, irregardless of your recent price hikes. One meal in particular had shot up in price by £6!! I should really have stood by ground, but in a busy, intimate restaurant where others are enjoying their meal you tend to feel forced to leave them to get on with it, to an extent. Food itseld was not bad, but not great. The meal I ordered was nothing like what I would usually get when ordering from the balti houses I normally go to - far, far too much coconut puree and no edge or any of the rich authenticity which I am normally used to. There were some nice touches, particularly in terms of presentation, especially for a takeaway, but for me its trying too hard to be avant garde/fusion, when I would prefer traditional, classic Indian balti. I suppose they reckon they can charge more if its appears fancier, but I'd argue they're missing the point of what a curry house really does. If you like korma, butter chicken or chicken tikka masala and dont mind paying over the top prices then you'd probably love Bombay Pickles; but proper curry lovers - don't bother.

Just the best. Busy, but still made room for 6 of us. Food was really tasty, and Billy the waiter was nuts... proper good.

The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely too drawer. Billy, our server was a super chap and offered us complimentary baileys after our mains. We had a really wonderful time.

What a great find! The warm welcome on arrival to Bombay Pickles was matched by the cosy and friendly environment. The food did not dissapoint, traditional Indian cuisine with a western twist, without losing authenticity. Bombay Pickles is our new 'go-to' Indian restaurant in Stourbridge.

Had my birthday meal at Bombay pickles tonight have to say that you cannot fault the place! Customer service and meal was excellent & had a free cake come out that the restaurant had organised and complementary perfume as a birthday gift! Billy our waiter was incredible and couldn’t do enough for us all! Absolutely fab evening couldn’t have asked for better will 100% be coming back again, especially for birthdays as they made such a fuss!

It was my daughters birthday meal, could not fault it, we were made to feel like we were the only ones in there and it was so busy for a Monday evening and that is why it was busy as this really is the best Indian restaurant in this area. All the staff are lovely and very attentive they really can’t do enough for you and all the little extras they do too like getting a cake and bringing it out , shots of baileys and free ice creams . They really made my daughters night , thank you to everyone especially Billy 🙏⭐️

Wow! 17 quid for just a curry and naan bread. Nearly 5 quid for a naan! My Karahi also came with half the chicken with Tikka on it and half plain (see photos), not sure why as it should've been all tikka. It tasted okay though. I worry for these places when the Desi pubs come in. If it had been £12 then it would've been a solid 4 stars, but I can't give it any more than 2 with those prices. It's the first time in years I've had an icky belly after a takeaway as well. I feel totally ripped off to be honest.

Amazing food and service. We were recommended to try here by a few of our friends. We had a beautiful meal and would highly recommend if you haven't been. We will definitely be returning in the future.

It was my sons birthday, and we couldn’t have had a better night anywhere. The service was unbelievable they couldn’t do enough for us,nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent as per usual, and a real effort was made bringing his birthday cake out with dimming the lights and singing, definitely 100% recommend

The staff are very hospitable and have made my 24th birthday a great success, they are great hosts would recommend to anyone who like this food especially the paneer corn sheek kebab and the Paneer kurmar. Me and friends a group of around 26, came bombay pickles the service was excellently timed and the staff are great. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I definitely would. They cater to all food needs as me and 3 other in the party had onion intolerances and 3 other were also vegetarian we all found item on the menu of where able to order what we would normally and they removed the problem ingredients leading to a greatly enjoyable meal and a great time with fri and family.

Myself and my husband have been trying to go for a few months but have been unable to get in. We finally managed to get a table, and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service. a bit expensive but worth it. Very friendly staff. I would highly recommend but book in advance.

We ordered online that stated the cost would be £32 and when it was delivered the cost had shot up to £42! Be warned.

Turned up before opening time to order a take away Told very welcome to order but there would be a delay as all the Staff hadn’t started yet which was fine Which is first class service After receiving food with a free rice for the delay(although there was no delay) The food was without doubt the best take away we’ve ever had Congratulations and will see you very soon

It was my birthday and we came out to celebrate as a family. The food was lovely as always and the staff every efficient and pleasant. I did miss the banter from the chaos that served us last time we came but it did not negatively affect our experience in any way. They sang me happy birthday and gave me lovely drink and dessert ( cake ). The extra touches always make the visit extra special, well done and thank you.

Good was underwhelming lacked any taste. It’s very bright in there and the music is quite loud. It’s not for me and I won’t recommend it. Also the 10% COMPULSORY service charge is a joke!!

The hidden gem of Stourbridge. Just visiting the Midlands for the weekend, for a visit to West Midlands Safari Park, and was looking for somewhere to eat before returning to our hotel. Stumbled on this Indian reastaruant from a search on Google maps and was drawn to it for the name. Then looked at the number of reviews and saw that it was a top rated restaraunt (4.6 stars from 1043 reviews at the time). Decided to make an impromptu visit and was not disappointed! Nice staff, nice atmosphere and had a constant flow of new diners/ delivery drivers throughout our meal. (We arrived soon after it opened for the evening, and from the number of visitors we felt confident in our choice of resatarunt). The food was extremely tasty, we opted for the mixed starter, poppadoms, chicken tikka masala and chicken tikka biryani. The poppadoms were top notch as were the accompanying dips. The starter came with the chef's signature salad which was really good, fresh with just the right amount of spice. The mains were really good, slightly smaller portions than our normal Indian restaraunt but the quality made up for it. Had little to no wait times between our food and drink orders too which is always a positive. To top it off at the end of our meal we received a complimentary small ice cream each, shot of baileys, piece of fudge and liquorice toffee. We left feeling happy and comfortably full. Would recommend and if we're ever back in Stourbridge we'll be returning for sure!

We came all the way from Australia to come to bombay pickles! Exceeded our expectations massively. Service was fast and efficient, food was amazing, great atmosphere and everyone loved it. Will definitely return just for bombay pickles.

Yum yum! Great food, service and atmosphere. We came on a Thursday and it felt full with a buzzing friendly atmosphere. The service was impeccable as was the food.

The food was not the best! Bland and not tasty at all! The garlic mushrooms looked boiled, with chunks of garlic and added colouring . Will not be returning! The added service charge was unnecessary! A service charge is not mandatory to pay! Awful!

Excellent food and service, nothing to fault

I don't normally do reviews but I have on this occasion. Place is too commercial, small quantities, want you in and out in a set time, if you eat here take extra bags of crisps/food as you won't leave here feeling full. It's a production line. Serve, eat, get out. Last words "we need the table"....... Also a service charge added to the bill automatically, my view is if service and food was good then customer decides to Tip, not forced on bill... Its gone down hill. Will not return!.

Very disappointed!!! Food is nice but average we had to wait nearly an hour between starters and mains even though it wasn’t that busy but to top it all we were presented with the bill and forced ~Yes FORCED to pay the surcharge. It was stated that it is mandatory. I find this disgusting as I think tips should be a personal choice and the amount should be at the customer’s discretion. Later discovered that if the service isn’t to the customers satisfaction then the service charge must be removed. Seems just another way to get more money. Will not return on that basis instead going to try the one near by called YAK. Called to book and no service charge there - maybe Bombay pickle should work on people skills and realise that it’s hard times for all and let the customer choose !!!

Couldn't fault the food & service

Placed first order tonight to try out a new restaurant. Our order was not complete. My husband rang to explain and he was cut off. Tried ringing again but was going to answer phone. My chicken was dry and stringy. Wouldn't order from there again.

Such a fabulous experience for my mom’s birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make this a special evening and treated our two little girls like princesses, including them throughout. Great food and a lively atmosphere. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Food is cooked to order and always presented creatively on the serving plate/bowl. Have tried a number of the signature dishes and have not been disappointed. I liked the truffle chocolates and complimentary baileys liqueur after the meal. We always book and eat there regularly we have got to know the staff extremely well.

Our friends have recently moved to the area and we thought we would try Bombay Pickles and it was honestly one of the nicest Indian meals we have had! The staff were super kind, friendly and accommodating and even gave us a shot of Baileys which went down a treat! We will definitely be returning here! The masala chicken was delicious!! Booked a table for 6 at 7pm on Friday night. Seated promptly upstairs at a lovely table in the window. Our server Mez was friendly, funny & attentive. Food was fresh, hot & beautifully presented. Loved the extra touches of hot towels, complimentary ice cream & sweets with the bill. We’ve often used Bombay Pickles for takeaway & will definitely be dining there again after a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
