Bombay Babu in South Tyneside

For a change my husband wanted to try the vegan Highway Hot Pot. This was unusual for him as he likes his meat but I needn’t have worried he took some of my Bombay Chicken Tikka meal. Both, with rice and chips were really nice. (Stew was quite spicy). Meals arrived quickly and hot to eat.

Fabulous takeaway from here. The loaded fries are a favourite of ours and also tried the new madras platter which my son said was amazing. The food here is lovely. We ordered in advance and the food arrived dead on time. One of the best take aways on shields. And if you want to eat in go to the Dehli 6 Lounge at Westoe.

The last time we used Bombay Babu it wasn’t a real success. We gave them another go last night and it was back to very good. What we did find out was the 2 eat apps charged a lot more than the restaurants own website. Naan was full of spicy keema mince. Chips and rice plentiful. Rogan Josh, was a little bit spicier than expected but was tasty and the mighty madras was excellent. Good choice made

Had a few takeaways here recently. My wife can be quite hard to please with her curries but they've been really tasty, generous portions and prices are really good especially as they often offer 20% off. They're pretty swift too, usually only 30 mins ordering to pickup. Definitely worth a try and also saves you driving further into the town if you're picking up.

#Disgusting# The prawns in my dansak had not been deviened. Could not eat it. Felt physically sick. Still waiting for the manager to ring me following my complaint. The girl on the phone who took my call could not have been nicer.

Indian takeaway, the food is very good and reasonable prices, would recommend. The menu is interesting and varied with a good choice of small plates and larger curry dishes.

Saved up stamps to use here and looking forward to the meals arriving. Unfortunately 2 hrs 40 mins passed in which we’d been told our food had been delivered! It hadn’t been. After giving up and contacting the eat site as well as the takeaway itself, 6 times, a delivery driver arrived with like warm meals, a cursory sorry and the wrong naan bread. Whereas we’re happy to praise when due this was shocking customer service.

Fancied trying the Babu grilled platter and husband went for one of favs mighty madras. Naan and mushroom pilau completed the order. Delivered on time and top quality.

Another fabulous take away. Food was amazing. I love the new menu. We planned on only eating half and finishing for lunch today, but it was too nice so had to eat it all!

Another great takeaway. Always delivered quickly and hot to eat. We went for less fancy dishes for a madras and a garlic chicken meals. An extra rice we bought to freeze. Meals and naan bread were excellent.

Got a fantastic takeaway from here tonight. The loaded fries are fabulous. It's not actually on the menu but they did me a veg madras instead of chicken. The wrap was enjoyed by my son. I can really recommend here. absolutely yummy food. 😀

A treat for the weekend after a busy Saturday we decided to go back to the Bombay babu. To recommend friends and family we must be happy with the takeaway, and we are. Lovely food, delivered on time, with money off too, win win!

Decades ago on the site that Bombay Babu occupies now was the first Indian takeaway we’d ever had. Husband had madras and I had plain curry. Now there are multiple choices of dishes to suit all tastes. From mild to mega hot. Bombay Babu is just a bit different menu wise and we made an excellent choice of Babus tikka roll (spicy and tasty) and 1800 Jal, (jalfrezi heat and beautiful). The tikka naan had plenty of mince, soft and great sundry, as was the pilau rice. Can’t wait to try something different from the menu. Money off 20% over £20 spend was an added bonus.
