This is a great hotel Shakil is a great host and was on hand for everything. Stayed in the Cherry Tree Cottage and it would make an ideal base for exploring the area. Bed was comfy. My only criticism would be it’s a bit squeaky! That aside. Well worth the money.

In the past, I have had difficulty finding reasonably priced hotels in the area which are happy to accept dogs, other that bog-standard motels. This was a great find! Great location, lovely grounds, internally very attractively presented and extremely clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I felt very much at home, and actually extended my stay for an extra night. I will definitely book again next time I am visiting the area.

Booked for a 4 night stay whilst doing some walking in the area. Shakil is an excellent host. Rooms comfortable, hospitality tray stocked up daily and a good price. Early bird evening menu has good variety and at a good price. One small criticism was that on the first morning the cooked breakfast was not very hot. We mentioned this to the breakfast lady and it was subsequently corrected. Highly recommended Robert and Ian Brighton

Lovely welcoming stains on my mattress , could hear a anything walking passed my room door , the room had to nice uncomfortable beds . Faulty electrical shower that took me 15 mins to figure out how to work . Really can’t see why some people have given this place 5 stars .

We arrived at the hotel with nobody on reception so had to wait a while but that was no issue, checking in was easy and we soon got the keys to the cottage. Upon arrival to the cottage we looked around as usual and found that the jacuzzi had not been cleaned and was covered in lipstick marks. Aswell as that when it was turned on with the jets it smelt bad so clearly needs a system flush. To add to this sleep was heavily disrupted by the mattress which would squeak so loudly at the slightest movement. However if these issues were fixed I would stay again as I thought the price was very reasonable.

Visited using a Living Social voucher having bought one in the past and really enjoyed it however we were very disappointed tonight. The service was shocking, one girl to look after the hotel reception, show people to their rooms, take food orders, get drinks, serve food, answer the phone and deal with future bride and grooms! We were seated in the very cold conservatory at the front. The girl serving didnt know what we could and couldnt have using our voucher! We had a lengthy wait for our starter which was ok but the side salad was limp and dried up, clearly seen better days! We waited ages for our main course which again was ok but nothing special. We ordered another drink and had to wait half a hour before we got it. We were told the kettle had been put on for my friends coffee!! Quality coffee...i think not! My diet coke was vile, clearly not diet coke, definitely a cheap substitute with a horrible smell and taste!! As we were sat near the entrance we could see and hear people at reception. If i had been the couple who had come in to change my wedding date, i would have walked out when told to wait there whilst the poor girl on reception had to go get food from the kitchen for other diners. As future clients spending thousands of pounds i would have questioned the staff levels if i had been that couple. Other staff were in the hotel as they could be heard vaccing up and fitting tiles in the bathroom. I have another voucher to use for sunday lunch for 4 but i feel very reluctant to use it after today's experience! Really think you need to improve your staffing levels as a matter of urgency as the service has really gone down hill since our last visit.

We have visited Dimple Well Lodge twice in recent weeks and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere on both occasions. The first was for a two course sunday lunch. The meal was lovely and very well presented. Makes a welcome change from the carvery lunches served everywhere now where you fill your plate to excess and spend the rest of the day regretting eating too much. We had the garlic mushrooms and roast beef dinner and they were lovely. The other visit was on a Saturday night and we were impressed with the range of choices on the 2 menus. The beef in dijon was very tender and our friends loved the curries that they ordered. Lovely setting and the gardens are very well maintained.

We went on a Groupon offer and were very happy how we were looked after. There's a good choice on the menu between Asian and UK cuisine including Buffalo/Kangaroo/Zebra/Camel steak. I had the Kangaroo steak which I thought was a bit more towards well done than medium so it really needed a sauce of some sort although it was tasty. It's probably a very lean meat. I dipped my meat into my wife's steak pie gravy so we managed ok. The staff weren't pushy with the drinks so that's a big plus from me as I hate it when staff are always asking if you want more drinks even before you've finished your current drink. We'd go again.

After the food and the great service we had, we agreed we would have gladly paid full price. An unusual fusion of Italian, English and Indian meals on the menu. We settled for the Indian after being given some advice on what to choose and how big the portions would be.We tried the mixed sizzling platter as a starter which was delicious and served exactly as described. Our waitresses were attentive and very pleasant. The main course followed shortly after with delicious Onion rice, sadly a mishap with our Naan meant it was a little delayed but this didn't fault the lovely food when it arrived shortly after..Everything was fresh and tasty and we would ,and we will gladly return.

Have only visited Dimple Well Lodge for meals (not stopped overnight) but I can safely say in my opinion that you won't be disappointed with the food from Harbys Restaurant. Compliments to the chef :-D English menu but also Indian menu.We visited last night for Valentines Day; had a 3 course beautiful meal each with bottle of sparkling wine for £40. Couldn't have picked a nicer location. The room was set up lovely with balloons and hearts and nice romantic music. If only there was more advertising for this place.. (unfortunately it was only a quarter full). Seems most of the advertising is done via facebook but even then the special deal for Valentines Day was not on in good time (we found out because we knew the place and we rung up to ask). Marcus, you have a little gem of a place in Dimple Well Lodge. The staff are very friendly and the chef needs to be commended. PLEASE advertise the place more.. it deserves it! :-)

Having not been to Dimple Well Lodge for some time enjoyed a relaxing Sunday lunch. Menu was standard Sunday choices but enough of a selection. Seating areas well presented and welcoming atmosphere, relaxing drinks area before being shown to our table which was in a smaller dining area, 5 adults. Chose our starters which arrived within 10-15 mins, presentation ok, 2 adults had the pate and one had the Dimples chicken Caesar salad, very fresh and not over faced. Main course arrived 5-10 mins after finished starter, ordered 4 Roast Beef and 1 Pork again very fresh and the ladies were not overfaced yet the gents found they had enough. Roasted carrots was a pleasant change, roast potatoes could maybe have been a little more roast but were absolutely fine for my personal preference. Meats cooked well and the Yorkshire Puds were not plastic they were great. We have a lot of home cooked food at home and this meal was tasty not bland at all Good home cooked food not the soggy carvery usual Sunday slush you get in a lot of pubs/restaurants these days. Standard choice of desserts the lemon cheesecake was a nice finish to cleanse the pallet and just the right size slice. The presentation of the menu did look a little amateur but this did not reflect the desserts themselves which were a nice finish. We did order a selection of coffees which did unfortunately take some time to arrive and we did have to ask a staff member again - however nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of staff if you needed anything always someone to ask if you did need anything. If I had to comment on any negative the offer of table water would be a nice addition and forks with the dessert soups would be a added touch, it can be quite troublesome chasing that last piece of cheesecake around the plate before you have to persuade it onto your spoon with your finger! Maybe some better background music rather than the radio would be better for a Sunday lunchtime time.Overall a great relaxing luncheon and excellent value for money whether you wanted one, two or three courses, the cost for Sunday Lunch compared to the standard pub chain food was second to none and therefore would highly recommend.

We booked Sunday lunch for 2 via Living Social. We read some of the reviews on here and wondered if it was worth the journey as it isn't really local to us. So pleased we went! The service was spot on. Lots of staff so very attentive service (not overly so though). All staff so relaxed and friendly. Good quality wine to say it was part of an offer (Pinot). And the food was fab. Leek and potato soup was a bit thin (more like a consommé) but pâté was great. The roast beef was amongst the best we have had. Very tender and cooked perfectly. Desserts were huge but we managed to eat the lot. It would be rude not to! Very yummy. I agree the restaurant needs a lick of paint - there were remnants evident everywhere from wedding do's. Blu-tak, streamer remains etc. Not a biggy, but the walls are very bare so the eye does tend to be drawn to this. The music was very weird - war time songs! Strange choice for background music - but it did make us smile! Overall we were very impressed and if we are in the area we would certainly dine here again. If you live in the area - we would recommend you try this. Normal menu price represents excellent value.

Had Sunday lunch with a Groupon voucher for 3 adults and 3 children. Arrived at booked time and was shown to table. Waited 20 minutes for the menu but were offered drinks at once. Starter arrived almost an hour later. Prawns were good as was pate. Main course took a further half an hour to arrive. The roast beef was overcooked and quite tough, vegetables average and roast potatoes I suspect were produced commercially and reheated. Food was hot and served on hot plates. We were going to skip dessert because of the waiting time but were assured it would arrive soon. All desserts were very good. Staff were pleasant but there didn't seem to be anyone organising service. I would not rush back which is a pity as the interior is very pleasant and has good gardens. parking is also a problem as car park fairly small.

First time visit to this restaurant. Groupon voucher, two courses including a glass of wine or soft drink. Six adults and four children (aged 7-11) for Sunday lunch, 15 Sep.Seated in a separate room with an open door to the corridor for the gents toilets and a view of the overflowing laundry baskets.Of the four main meat courses on the menu the steak & ale pie and the roast duck were not available, leaving a choice of chicken or beef. The chicken was stringy and a little, as though it had been reheated in the microwave. The beef consisted of two slices; one was fine, the other seemed to be from a different cut and had a peculiar taste, almost like kidney. When this was mentioned to the waitress she insisted they were identical.Waited 15 minutes with dirty plates on the table, then when they were cleared had to ask for dessert menus when another 10 minutes had gone by. Waited a further 15 minutes before having to ask someone to take the order, when we did he said "I'm not taking orders" and went to find another person. When they did finally take the order the waiter told us each dessert could be served with 'custard, cream, ice-cream or anything' leaving us to wonder what other mystery accompaniment could be on offer. Five minutes later the waiter then came back to say "sorry, we don't have any custard left". When the desserts' arrived the waiter helpfully announced "I don't even know what this is" (it was cheesecake), which varied in size from ok to one that was broken and miniscule. In summary, poor food and awful service.

Let me start by saying that I have visited the Bollywood Lounge restaurant in Wakefield many times and every time I was very impressed. Unfortunately the food at Dimple Well Lodge was no where near that standard. The curries were all very bland and one was very watery which was disappointing to say the least. The nan breads were also very stodgy and not light and fluffy like you would expect. The starters were fine and the dips were very tasty. Dimple Well Lodge is a lovely little place with very attentive and welcoming staff. The place is very clean and appealing. Unfortunately the food on our visit let it down and spoilt our experience. I will say that they adjusted the bill when we raised concerns over the food.

Loved the food - the restaurant offered a free starter (I'm not sure if this was because I was a hotel guest or because I went in midweek) and the veggie pakoras I chose were delicious. When I visited, there was noone else in the restaurant, so it was understandably lacking in atmosphere. Best curry I have had in a long time... we sat in the conservatory as we were not happy sitting in the room with no windows to the back of the premesis.. this was lovely with background music on tv and a fishtank.. very soothing. We had the banquet which was very good value for money, we initially thought (as we had not been before) that because of the price of the banquet - £9.95 it might not be up to much.. to be honest... the popadoms were very fresh and crisp and the dips which came with them were very good.. We then had the starter from the banuet menu, again we were very impressed with the quality of the cooked food and the presentation. We then followed with a dish off the banqueting menu, with a portion of rice and a popadom each.. the quantity of food which was served and the quality was very impressive.. we were that impressed that we are off again tonight with the family to celebrate a birthday.. really looking forward to it..

Best curry in Ossett. Not quite as good as the Wakefield location though.

Some very nice food when we visited as a group of six for a birthday. We come from Bradford so know a good curry and this was also good. Staff i feel mumble when food brought out to you should speak more clearly.Car park needs better lighting also but I would return to sample again

We usually go the Ghandi or Star in Ossett but for my birthday the Wife treated me to something special so we went to Bollywood Lounge. Four of us earlier tried a take away from here to test the food and it was Ok (but did have a dish missing when we got it home).Intial impressions were favourable, we had pre-dinner drinks in a smart bar then were shown through to the restaurant which was well presented. The menu had the usual traditional Indian dishes plus interesting looking fusion dishes and I have to say the food we had was very good, more expensive than our usual Indian but given the surroundings we expected that.Unfortunately it all went down hill when the bill came, on it was "wedding food £2.50" so we asked what it was for "you had king prawns and our machine cannot print that so it shows wedding food" but king prawns is shown on the bill "OK I'll get the manager". "You had king prawns and that is for king prawns" but king prawns are shown on the bill "well I'm not going to stand here arguing with you for £2.50, just take it off when you pay and go".So we were left sitting there, the other Diner's looking at us like we'd tried to rob the place, all for £2.50.What can I say? good food in a lovely restaurant but we would not step foot in the place again. Hope this helps.

Very nice indian restaurant the variety of dishes and the fact that each one is signifficantly different, not just a few different ingredients in the same base sauce set bollywood above many of the other restaurants in the area, we look forward to sampling many more meals including some of the fusion dishes, the nans were sweet, fluffy and crispy, great! We didnt try the wines or beers as we driving but might walk next time which wont be too far in the future
