Bocabar Finzels Reach in Bristol, City of

Came here with my teenage child and a friend for a bite to eat before a gig. Offer was on for pizza and a pint…. Seems great but no option to substitute for soft drinks for those abstaining from alcohol (even alcohol free) so one stuck to water. Pizzas were ok, although a litttle charred on the base. Service was inattentive, with us having to chase for missing drink, bill etc, even when quiet and most tables free. Not the worst, not the best…. Just a bit meh…. 🫤

Nunca en mi vida había experimentado personal tan grosero, desagradable y arrogante como aquí. He sido un cliente fiel de Bocca Bars nave nodriza (Bath road), durante más de 12 años, por otro lado - nota, pronto a cerrar que es triste. Entramos en Bocca Finzels reach anoche y nos encontramos con un bar que nos miraba fijamente, no hola, no “qué puedo conseguirte” - simplemente mirándonos literalmente, sintiéndonos bajo presión y un poco incómodos, pedimos una bebida y procedimos a intentar sentarnos. Luego nos ladró una joven bar (que, cuando entramos, se había estado pavoneando con un aspecto extremadamente enojado) que dijo “lo siento, esa mesa está reservada”. Le pregunté cortésmente: “Hasta cuándo” (pensando que podríamos tomar otra copa y volver) ella respondió: “bueno, no sé “amigo”, probablemente toda la noche - ella entonces se volvió y se fue. Espero que los propietarios lean esto y tomen medidas inmediatas. Esta es la CUARTA mala experiencia con el personal aquí y mira cuántas otras críticas están diciendo lo mismo! Un lugar por lo demás hermoso, con comida y bebidas de primera calidad.

*Siento la necesidad de dar una introducción antes de destacar la reseña de una estrella* He sido un cliente leal de la nave nodriza Bocca Bars Bath Road (pronto cerrará, tristemente) durante más de 10 años. Es nada menos que un conjunto de élite - up - El personal encantador y atento, el edificio y el interior son rústicos y simplemente impresionantes, hay un ambiente relajado y la comida es tan f un estándar bastante alto, por no mencionar la gran opción de cerveza y cervezas. Cuando “Finzels reach” - (hermana pequeña de Bocca) abrió, naturalmente hice una visita y no me sorprendió. Trabajo en BS 1 y empecé a frecuentar con compañeros de trabajo, etc. - en los últimos meses el personal se ha convertido en nada menos que impactante, - asqueroso atididide. Llegamos esta noche a un, lo que solo podría describirse como un miembro del personal de aspecto viscoso mirándonos fijamente esperando a que hagamos un pedido de bebidas - sintiéndonos presionados y un poco incómodos procedimos a pedir bebidas. Luego caminamos hacia la mesa más cercana para sentarnos. Entonces se nos gritó LITERALMENTE, con ella diciendo “Uh, perdón, que mesas reservadas”. nos disculpamos rápidamente y dijimos que no sabíamos que la mesa estaba reservada. Ella respondió “bueno, hay un cartel grande que dice “reservado” si miras de cerca. Lo siento pero WTF, espero que los propietarios del bar Bocca lean esto y por pura moralidad miren quiénes son sus empleados, apriete su proceso de entrevista, porque su empleo de personas groseras, viles, desagradables para el personal wjat podría de otra manera ser , una de las barras de élite más agradables del centro de la ciudad (lado - nota - esto es solo una experiencia de CINCO INCIDENTES SEPARADOS QUE INVOLUCRAN A LOS MIEMBROS DEL PERSONAL DE BOCCAR BAR FINZEL REACH) Propietarios - POR FAVOR, haga algo para resolver esto. Para cualquiera que visite - un establecimiento de 4 - 5 estrellas (solo matar al personal con amabilidad y tener tan poco que ver con ellos como sea posible)

Música demasiado alta en este gran lugar. Fui con un amigo para ponernos al día y tuvimos que gritarnos. Es un buen trabajo la comida que tuvimos era muy buena. Nunca me he encontrado con personal de espera tan desinteresado y miserable. Cabello cayendo sobre sus rostros (y posiblemente nuestra comida). No bienvenido. Sin sonrisas. ¿Eran zombis? La mesa era pegajosa de derrames de clientes anteriores. Teníamos el guiso de pescado que era excepcionalmente bueno. Muy bien hecho chef y personal de cocina.

Como viajero en solitario por trabajo, el personal era fabuloso, amable y atento. El pan de pizza al ajo y sus pizzas vegetarianas estaban deliciosos. Definitivamente voy a volver a comer aquí 😊

Un servicio horrible. Intenté entrar dos veces, una temprano por la noche y otra más tarde. Intenté entrar a las 5: 15 y hacía cola para tomar algo y luego nos dijeron que no podíamos sentarnos en ninguna de las mesas libres que aparentemente estaban reservadas previamente para la comida. Luego intentó regresar a las 10: 15 pm y nos dijeron que no podíamos entrar ya que estaban cerrados, pero había gente bebiendo allí y muchas mesas vacías. El sitio web también dice que están abiertos hasta las 12 am? En general me sentí inoportuno

Habituales en la sucursal de Paintworks, pero nuestra primera vez aquí. La pizza era de la misma alta calidad, delicioso. El lugar era muy ruidoso para un miércoles por la noche, así que no es bueno si tienes problemas de audición

Horrible servicio del personal indiferente y desinteresado. No hay modales, mal servicio, ignorado mientras se espera en el bar y, sin embargo, el cobro habitual del 10 % de servicio se mantiene en la factura. Siempre dejo buenas propinas y siempre por encima del 10% pero me puse a no pagarlo y explicárselo a la pobre camarera que hizo la cuenta, irónicamente no nos había atendido y parecía muy agradable y comprensiva. No volvería a ir y no lo recomendaría. No creas su publicidad de "nuestra historia".

Visita con la familia. Buen servicio amable, no hay mucho problema para conseguir platos adicionales para los nietos para compartir entrantes y pizza. Las pizzas eran deliciosas y de buen tamaño, nuestros entrantes de alitas de pollo con kimchi y calamares junto con patatas fritas de queso también cayeron bien! ¡Disfruté mi cerveza Joubel también! 😜

La ubicación y el ambiente eran decentes, pero tuve una comida bastante terrible. La hamburguesa era pequeña y estaba carbonizada, como si la hubieran dejado en una barbacoa toda la noche. También se sirvió en un bollo que era mucho más grande que él, como cuando se obtienen sándwiches baratos que se ven bien llenos desde un ángulo, pero son esencialmente solo pan una vez que pasas un par de bocados. Fue malo y costó £ 14. Sin embargo, las comidas de otras personas parecían estar bien, así que quizás sean un poco inconsistentes.

¡Tenía la ensalada de hummus bowl y es absolutamente masiva! ¡Y delicioso! Mi amigo tomó la hamburguesa y dijo que estaba sabrosa. El ambiente es divertido y cálido y hay una gran cantidad de asientos al aire libre.

Dos de mis amigos y yo visitamos este restaurante para el brunch. La camarera que nos recibió era hosca y aburrida, parecía que nunca había sonreído en su vida. Nos mostraron a nuestra mesa y no nos dieron menús de almuerzo que perseguimos a alguien. Hay una oferta para 2 vasos de Prosecco por £ 12 pero no los sacarían de uno en uno porque estaban ‘tan ocupados’. . la mayoría de las mesas a nuestro alrededor estaban vacías! La camarera que nos sirvió nuestra comida era realmente agradable y amable. La comida estaba bien, no vale la pena el precio y dejaron un par de cosas fuera de mi desayuno vegetariano y solo nos dieron 2 servilletas y cubiertos, lo que significa que estábamos arriba y abajo mucho pidiendo trozos. Todo esto no justificaría una mala crítica de mi parte - el sol brillaba y yo estaba con mis dos mejores amigos, teniendo un gran día impecable por un poco de servicio al cliente por debajo de la media. Sin embargo, cuando nos fuimos (esperamos años para el cheque, así que fuimos al bar a pagar) , otra camarera nos sirvió y ella fue tan grosera! Preguntó si estábamos pagando juntos a lo que mi amiga respondió algo como ‘¿sí podemos dividirlo de 3 maneras?’ Y la camarera la miró muerta a los ojos, sin sonrisa, y dijo ‘¿entonces no pagarán juntos?’ Sarcásticamente. Ella entonces no dijo una palabra ya que tomó nuestros 3 pagos, no gracias al final! Decidimos no decir nada en ese momento (por lo general lo haría) y no dejar que nos humedeciera el día en absoluto, pero dije que escribiría algo aquí después.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times in the restaurant and food and service has always been outstanding. I ordered a takeaway pizza and salad as was staying overnight locally for work. Food and service was just as excellent as takeout. 😎

Lovely warm atmosphere, not too noisy. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Food was excellent quality. Wonderful outdoor area with heaters.

Absolutely brilliant! I used to live in Bristol - it was my 60th Birthday so I wanted something special! Sept 21st - 6.30pm and 14 of us came for celebration of our birthdays (30's - 60's) as we all work and live far apart - thus we were a party of both locals and people from Norfolk and Ireland too. I chose and booked the Bocabar from Norfolk two weeks before the night and this process was really simple - when I spoke with staff on the phone they were fantastic - helpful, informative, clear and kind. The greeting on the night was superb and the restaurant looked fabulous - our table position and it's layout, both perfect. Superb decor, lighting and unobtrusive music all complimented by cheerful, enthusiastic staff. As my guests arrived, over twenty minutes, each of us was greeted at the door and shown to the table with kindness and welcome. We were never rushed by staff which was lovely. I was able to display helium balloons and this was lovely too. Our food choices had already been taken during the booking process and on the night the serving of food was great - smooth, friendly and in a timely manner. The food was absolutely delicious - a menu to suit all tastes and preferences (allergies etc noted) for savoury and sweet - and all my guests agreed that they had had a superb meal. Absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and a really healthy portion too. All the food came in that we were truly able to eat 'together' which is not always my experience of other local venues. The staff were always present but never intrusive - they checked we were ok for food and drinks and then left us to enjoy our evening while keeping a gentle eye on us to support additional drinks; desserts and later coffee - and hot chocolate!) as the evening drew to a close. Across the venue all staff were all superb - waiting staff, bar staff, kitchen staff, chef - they looked and behaved calmly, quietly, professionally and totally interested in and focused on the customer. Brilliant! I have to say the venue was spotless too - including the toilets. Making the payments for individual meals was easy and payment of the final bill was lovely as the staff thanked us for coming and wishing us well on our way. All in all a fabulous evening for which I would like to praise and thank ALL involved. I am delighted to have chosen Bocabar Finzels Reach and definitely recommend them as a superb venue for a great night! I will definitely be visiting again. Thank You all! Lorna

Pizza was top notch and fairly priced. Good selection of cider and ale on draught. I dined on a Monday evening and the place had a buzz. I guess it would be pretty lively at the weekend. Great restaurant, friendly staff. I always give top marks when the server doesn't write your order down but everything is just as you asked, even with changes. Well done all

A good sized bar and restaurant in the Finzel’s Reach development, we popped in without booking but fortunately managed to grab a table just before they stopped serving food at 9:00pm. It’s a decent enough restaurant in a loud and modern sort of way, hut it had a buzzy atmosphere, and was busy, but not packed, on our visit. Piazzas seem to be something of a speciality here and I opted for the Frangasco with tomato sauce, mozzarella, chicken breast, bacon, BBQ sauce, spring onions and basil. This was a pleasant and tasty dish, with a generous topping and quite tasty. The Somerset Picante (tomato sauce, mozzarella, pulled Somerset pork, chorizo, smoked Applewood cheese, chilli flakes, fresh red onion, chipotle sauce and basil) across the table was also well received. The waitress was friendly and helpful, and overall I thought this was a decent enough pit stop.

This was our first time visiting bocabar as we were spending a long weekend in Bristol. We arrived early for our booking which were told wasn’t a problem. Menus,food and drinks orders were taken quickly. We had a pizza each and they were unreal. Up there with the best pizzas we’ve had. Staff were very friendly and attentive. A nice atmosphere in the place too. Very reasonably priced and definitely good value for money. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning

Really liked it here.The pizzas were delicious.The staff were lovly.would definately visit again.the prices were good.and there was a good range of drinks.

Great place, excellent service, good-value delicious food. The atmosphere was really welcoming and the staff were all lovely. I really enjoyed my chicken caesar salad, and everyone else in the group enjoyed their meals.

This is a classic place for us to go as colleagues. The food is always great and reasonably priced. It’s in a super spot and always has a warm atmosphere.

4th (and possibly final!) time I've been there. Great food on previous visits and service was good too. Tonight I got there approx 8:20 with friends, queued up and were shown to a table. Looked at the menu and chose what to order and tried to flag down a member of staff. 20 minutes later succeeded in getting attention and they took our drinks order, but when we went to order food were told the kitchen had closed!?!?!?! ?!?!?!?/WTF etc. at 8:40 on a Wed evening, 20 minutes after we had been seated then ignored. Super disppointed as the food is really good and we were hungry. It was a bizarre way to run a business ...

A good sized and surprisingly popular venue considering it’s slightly out of the way location, it’s certainly got a lively and buzzy atmosphere and was very busy on our recent Friday evening visit. First impressions weren’t good when we were showed to a small round table just opposite the entrance way and immediately adjacent to a long, high table with people milling all around it, with the net result that we got a cold draught every time the door opened and were continually getting bumped in to by people squeezing past. I guess if you’re a walk in without a booking that’s fine, you’ve got to take what’s available, but they really shouldn’t be using tables like that for people who have pre-booked. They managed to move us to a much better spot down the end though, otherwise I think we would have been sorely tempted to go elsewhere. The menu is in some ways quite limited with a selection of small plates, burgers, salads and pizzas. So if you want a more conventional meal, this may not be for you. That said, there was plenty on there that appealed to me, and a particularly wide choice when it came to the pizzas, including a couple of March specials. I went for the Frangasco which consisted of tomato sauce, mozzarella, chicken breast, bacon, BBQ sauce, spring onions and basil and I thought this was a decent and tasty dish with plenty of flavour. That said, someone else on the table was a bit disappointed declaring it not very tasty, so that’s personal preference I suppose. Elsewhere, a Somerset Picante with tomato sauce, mozzarella, pulled pork, chorizo, smoked Applewood cheese, chilli flakes, fresh red onion, chipotle sauce and basil was also well received with plenty of flavour and a decent kick of heat from the chilli. The desert menu also offered little in the way of choice so we skipped that. Overall, I quite enjoyed it here, the food that we had was very enjoyable. Just do be aware of limited choice and some very unsuitable seating arrangements.
